Really happy with this i always carried a knife but was a bit sick of sharpening constantly due to cutting boxes and paper etc bought this as its very thin in pocket and easy to replace blade when dulled from cutting and i can keep my normal knife in pocke
Great little tool.
Nice to use. Probably the most used bit of kit in my pocket.
Great user needs an I termediate stop for the blade
Nice knife had to change blade ome that come in knife bit dull other then that Nice size easy to use
I find pry bars very useful tools for opening tins and package. Also, the utility blade cuts cardboard perfectly and has remained sharp after 6m of cutting. There is a knack to sliding it open: push down on on the end of the slider; rather than pressing the entire thing (see video). The blade is simple to change. I recommend cleaning the blade if it gets tape residue on it, as this might clog up the mechanism. I’m very pleased with his tool.
What I like most: the Gerber Prybrid is a bit of sensible thinking. There are countless situations where a small prybar or small knife is useful, BUT where you don’t want to risk ruining that pricey multitool’s fixed blades. The Prybrid solves this – by being, at heart, just a replaceable-blade Stanley knife.
(Yes, it DOES take standard Stanley blades and variants, no problem. At least mine does. There may be some quality issues with some production runs.)
Best feature: it’s built around the prybar – the strip of metal is full tang. This makes the thing very robust, far beyond its size. You can extract surprisingly large stubborn nails without a problem.
There is one issue on the knife: it’s unreasonably hard to remove the blade, requiring a strong fingernail and concentration. It’s not ideal. But this is my only gripe.
Third, it’s very flat in form, so fits into a tiny space. My mini toolkit (which this is part of) is a small utility bag and luckily it slotted in despite the bag being stuffed already.
So: definitely worth it, although there are cheaper craft knives. It’s simple and does what it says on the tin.
ive owned a few of these, some have been lost and ive immediately come on here and bought another. this is a real standout in utility blades and i carry it everywhere with me, as it’s multifunction and can be used to accomplish all sorts of tasks and is solid as a rock. put your faith in the prybrid !
Solid, well-made box cutter that uses standard blades. OK value for money.
The design is good but needs WD40 before your use it.
good build quality but the button to reveal the blade is quite stiff and has a lot of friction even after adding a lubrica
Great tool that’s well made and seems sturdy. Bought a second one so I’m never without a sharp blade.
Very stiff and needs a pocket clip instead of the weight saving “lanyard hole”. Plus grey is the only colour option in the UK.
Useful multifunction tool. Good pry. Solid all rounder. Good grip with G10 scales. Replacement blades, with a variety of blade profiles for pennies.
