God of War Ragnark is a stunning achievement in gaming, taking the already incredible gameplay and storytelling of the previous game to new heights. From the opening moments, you’re immersed in a world of Norse mythology that’s both brutal and beautiful, with stunning graphics and an epic musical score.
But what truly sets God of War Ragnark apart is its storytelling. The relationship between Kratos and his son Atreus is at the heart of the game, and the emotional journey they go on together is nothing short of breathtaking. The writing and performances by the voice actors are outstanding, and you can’t help but become invested in their story.
The gameplay is also top-notch, with satisfying combat and challenging puzzles that keep you engaged and on your toes. The addition of new weapons and abilities adds a fresh twist to the gameplay, and there’s always something new and exciting to discover.
Overall, God of War Ragnark is a must-play game that ranks among the best in the genre. It’s a thrilling and emotional epic that will leave you breathless and wanting more. If you’re a fan of the previous game, or just love a good story-driven adventure, then this game is an absolute must-have. 5/5.
I played this on a PS4, there are a few bugs in the game (I can see why the developers wanted a bit more time with it) but nothing that takes away from the experience of playing the game. The game is ha high precision game that runs well on a PS4 but is a bit difficult to play with remote play (delays that are fractions of a second are noticeable and make it almost unplayable in some God Hard battles).
All in all I played the game on the first go on God Hard and it took me 150 hours to complete (100% completion on main story and side missions), and it was 150 hours well spent; the fighting system has been completely reinvented since the last game and the main + side storylines are phenomenal (it is at the book level of stories). A lot of thought has been put into every aspect of this game, from the armor to the weapon attachments and the collectibles, nothing is tacked on, everything offers a tremendous amount of value and intrigue (even the treasure hunts and freeing of Odin’s ravens) and everything needs a bit of tweaking to compliment your playing style and preferences.
I bought it as a gift for my husband, and he loves i
OK I can get why it is surrounded by hype & as much as I enjoyed playing it,it’s not without issues in my opinion. I’ll start with good: visually stunning, combat engine is still the same but with the caveat that on normal level this is by no means an easy game. The armour & weapon upgrades are overly complicated, not really a one build fills all. The axe & blades are nowhere near as powerful as last game & once you have the spear the blades are almost obsolete. I’m not a fan of games that switch between characters, you play a fair bit of the game as Atreus. The valkyries have been replaced by Bezerkers & these are significantly harder to beat than any of the main game boss fights! In fact I didn’t beat one until I had completed the game at Level8 & still struggled to beat a Level5! Likewise with The Citadel at Muselplein,I still haven’t managed to get a single level! With no New Game+ there is little point to the game after the main story arc is finished, especially the beserkers,as any goodies are useless by that point. I can only assume that all the youtube videos showing how to beat “things” have already finished the game to get all the top upgrades.
Great game, story line is fab. Very quick delivery but the disk was dirty so needed a good clean before it would install as it kept coming up with errors.
An absorbing game with a great story line. Enjoyed it immensely!
I don’t like beat em up fighting games. Really, I don’t. So I was as surprised as anyone when I loved 2018’s God of War. I really got into it, and found myself drawn into the growing, real feeling relationship between Kratos and Atreus.
At the end of the last game, Baldur died, triggering the fearsome Fimbulwinter. This game is all about the coming of Ragnarok – the end of the world. But it’s more about the family – how Kratos is trying to let Atreus grow into his own man, how Atreus wants to make his father proud, and the links to other characters. I won’t say too much more for fear of spoilers. But the relationships and the characters elevate this game to a rare level. Atreus was a bit annoying in the first game, this time he ‘s older and comes into his own. Kratos has softened – rather than BOY and HEAD, he now talks to Atreus and Mimir. There is also a sense of humour about it now – there are a few laugh out loud moments.
The story and the various gods they come across – Odin & Thor in particular – is fantastic and I both wanted to get to the end to find out what happened and take it as slowly as possible to make it last.
The fighting is as fun as last time. At first, mashing buttons will mostly get it done, but you need to get good at the various techniques and skills to make it to the end. Everything is upgradeable and it’s a good feeling to become more powerful and more skilled. You start the game this time with the axe and the blades of chaos. And get another weapon during the game that became my favourite of the lot.
Graphically it’s amazing again (I am on PS4, assume it’s better on PS5), the sound and music are incredible, and the performances from the actors are superb.
Some of the monsters are a bit annoying (can we stop having enemies that blow up when they die, please) and sometimes the combat dynamics is a little confusing. But overall, this is a fabulous game that you should play.
It will make much more sense if you play God of War first, but I am sure you would enjoy it anyway.
If you liked the previous God Of War your likely going to like this.
For anyone who cares the Platinum trophy is fairly easy just requires some time to collect all the extra stuff and finish sidequests. Also no free upgrade for PS5. Costs 10 to upgrade.
This game should be the game of the decade. This game has surpassed GoW 2018 in every way. Considering GoW 2018 was game of the year…… Well you get the idea.
If you loved the GoW4 then this improves on it in places you didn’t realise were needed. Single player offline games are often overlooked but if you want to be submerged into a Nordic reality with combat puzzles and exploration, this is perfection.
Fantastic game, well worth the wait for it to come out. Its not as good as Forbidden West for the ability to free roam in the game and it can be a bit linear. However, the combat is better and that is what this game is about. Do yourself a favour and buy the Ps4 physical disk and then upgrade via PSN to the PS5 for a tenner if you are lucky enough to have a PS5. The digital only game is so expensive from PSN. I would buy it again and I would recommend it as a must have game. Cheers JB
I brought this game for Christmas he loves it .he hasn’t stopped playing it since Christmas day. Seem to be having fun. His well in to it. So I would recommend this game .for any god of war fan.
I liked this product because it answers al questions and improves everything from the previous game. Combat, Graphics etc.
The only down side I would say is their is a lot of listening in parts before you get to actually play.
I have sunk a total of 85 hours into the game and it was worth it. Explored every nook and cranny. On release there were some minor bugs, but a lot of these have been resolved via patches. Looking forward to getting back in the game when New Game Plus is released.
Best story game of the year. You won’t regret i
This game is a perfect follow-up to its predecessor. It builds upon the strengths of the first game and improves upon its weaknesses, resulting in a truly excellent gaming experience. The story in this game was excellent. I was initially concerned that certain plot decisions may not have been well-conceived, but I was pleasantly surprised by how well-developed the story turned out to be. The combat in this game was fantastic, much like the first, and some of the annoying elements from the previous game were either removed or significantly improved. While the NPC dialogue can sometimes be a bit grating, overall this is a fantastic game that is well worth the price.
I pre purchased this and it arrived on the day of release. My boyfriend loved i
My son was so excited about getting it on the day it was released and it did not disappoint, he loved it.
A Gift to my Step Son. Works fine great game well pleased
Bought this for my son and he said it’s fantastic. He completed the initial story part in 2 days but he said there is still lots of other quests to do after you complete that.
For me this sequel just lacked something the first game had im not sure what but it just felt a little hollow dont get me wrong its a fantastic game and u enjoyed the playthrough even tho i hated playing as Atreus who u control for at least a third of the game he was underpowered and just plain annoying for me to play as buuuut thats just me ive played through and now sold on happy enough….
The game so far has been brilliant, to say it’s on the old gen hardware there hasn’t been no bugs or glitches I’m only about 5 hours so I can’t say for certain if there aren’t any throughout the entire game though. But the exploration in this game has been great and I recommend playing on the hardest difficulty.
