Crashed after 3 days. Very weak screens. The fall was easy, not even average. New Screen 300+. I really liked the camera and sound, after updating to Android 13 you can change the screen resolution from 1440p to 1080p, which saves battery.
Great screen but slightly more washed out colours compared to my old phone.
Just make the colours more vibrant please Google and you will be on to a winner.
So, wanted to upgrade from the Pixel 5, read that there wasn’t much difference between the Pro 6 & 7 so went for the 6. Read about Amazon Renewal Scheme then bought this before realising it was a used phoned (advertised as vet good condition) rather than renewed so was worried at first…. However, the phone arrived promptly next day, not in a box but well protected & to my suprise was immaculate! I’m now about 3/4 days in and all appears just like a new phone. Battery life seems good, rarely below 50% by end of day. 339 what a bargain!
I think this still a great phone even in 2023. it has a good camera, decent battery live and a great software!
I needed to get an updated android phone, the security updates had ceased on my Motorola a couple of years ago. The short support interval on that phone put me off sticking with Motorola. I chose the Google Pixel for that reason with its longer support program. Transfer of files and data was easy. Still getting used to the different techniques for navigating, but the photos and processing speed are great and I haven’t found anything irritating about it yet. Battery life is good. Screen definition great. Charging time is excellent.
I’ve been looking for a brand new Google Pixel 6 Pro for sometime due to the price and also google no longer have them on there website (just the Google Pixel 7). Over the last 2 weeks luckily Amazon Provided a new pixel 6 pro at a deal price from 849 to 450, this was amazing and i notice that this deal was very popular due to how many were getting ordered on day by day basis. Last week the deal disappeared and i would’ve had to pay an extra 65 and wait longer which wasn’t what i was looking for.
Then by luck on Thursday the deal came back with only 5 in stock, i reacted quickly and ordered the phone. the arrival was meant to come today, but being amazon they pushed it forward to Saturday. Overall the box of the phone was sealed and the whole packaging was brand new. i recently had a Google Pixel 4a 5G and comparing to this phone was a upgrade well deserved, a much quicker reaction on the screen, the camera is 10/10 amazing HDR and crispy pictures even on standard mode. The phone has its very own AI system on the recorder app which is spot on. Even so the phone is all google no added software systems.
I understand the camera back is a bit big and chunky, i added a phone case to it and you can’t tell once its on . i have tried the wireless changing fairly slow but if i wasn’t using the phone i would but it on there for a bit of juice, the cable is always quicker. Overall i’m enjoying the phone and the price for it was brilliant.
THANK YOU AMAZON !!!
I bought this not realising it was refurbished. The phone I received was in great condition (one tiny scratch on the case) and seemed to work well. However, I discovered that there was an issue with the speaker which oddly only seemed to impact calls placed on speaker and the actual ringtone. Videos/music played back fine.
I contacted Amazon customer support who immediately offered me a refund to return the phone, but couldn’t offer a replacement given it was refurbished. It was covered by a 12 month warranty though so I contacted Google instead who sent me out a replacement phone with super quick turnaround. Amazon also very kindly gave me a 30% refund for my troubles too 😀
So the new phone works well – is fast and responsive. There’s a known issue with the accuracy of the fingerprint reader on these phones – so far it hasn’t been a major issue for me, though I do miss not having a dedicated fingerprint reader on the rear of the phone like I had on my old Oneplus 6.
Coming from a Oneplus, there’s definitely a few things to adjust to with this. It’s also considerably heavier than my old phone, yet not that much larger. I wouldn’t fancy going for a run with it in my pocket for example.
I had a chance to compare it with a friend’s Pixel 6 (not pro) and found there was very little difference in them. Yet the standard 6 is about half the price, so that’s definitely a consideration.
If you’re looking for a good stock android phone, this is a good option, particularly if you get a good quality referb. However, it is already an outdated model yet Google and Amazon still seem to charge the same for the 6 Pro and 7 Pro. With this in mind, I’d probably recommend a 6 over a 6 Pro, unless you think you’ll really notice the difference in the camera (I doubt it!).
Stock android , updated to Android 13 as soon as I got it.
A bit early to write a review though
But I don’t find the battery and fingerprint issues as many reviews says.
With the deal price, it’s a win for me just by the camera which is 100/100.
Phone arrived next day which is excellent also has a great price!
However, once I updated and restarted the phone a I noticed a dead pixel on the bottom right side of the phone screen, browsed the web and could not fix.
Tried to exchange for a new phone but due date was mid march…
Had to request refund.
GOOOD DEAL & ALWAYS GOOD DEALING WITH AMAZON LIKE EVERY TIME I BUY FROM.
THANK U AMAZON
I’ve had none of the problems others seem to have had, I’d read a few bad things about over heating and fingerprint reader not working well. The phone updated to Android 13 on set up and all features have been working great. Only two things would have made it a better phone, face unlock would be great and I can’t believe this day and age there is no macro camera, both not deal breakers but would have been nice to have.
very good camera, sometimes the phone gets warm with intensive use, the speed of operation is very good. bought at a great price of 419. I was afraid of the large size, but it’s fine, I had a Lg g8s thinq 6.2 inch with a 3550 mAh battery before and the run time was a bit better.
charger not included.
I recommend 3mk screen protectors and spigen cases to protect the phone from damage.
This is a brilliant premium phone, got it for a great price (black Friday) and just after the 7Pro launched.
Only downside is no face unlock and the battery is good but not as good as other premium phones.
Still a top phone and a bargain at 500
I know there’s a lot of controversy with the Pixel 6 and its launch wasn’t spectacular, but I love this phone. Coming from the Pixel 3a this feels really premium.
The cameras alone sell this phone for me, the main sensor reliably takes brilliant photos in most conditions and I get endless use out of the telephoto lens. I went to a concert recently and some people behind asked what phone I had as the pictures I was taking were so clear despite being so far back. The ultrawide is handy but I don’t use it much and I’d say the same with the selfie cam. An added benefit of this phone is that the camera natively works with Snapchat and Instagram so the photos taken there are equally as good.
The phone is also so quick. The screen is 120hz and feels incredibly smooth. I can’t go back to 60hz phones now. The under-screen fingerprint sensor, while not fast, is reliable and I rarely sturggle to unlock my phone. Google’s software is also leagues ahead of the competition and now that this phone has been out for a year it feels like it has matured and is free of all the bugs that plagued it at launch.
There are some downsides, I did get this on sale and I’m not sure I would buy this if it were more than 700. There is a bit of a hollow feeling to the phone when tapping on the screen which can be noticed on occasion. Charging could be faster and the battery, while long lasting, could be optimised a bit better. And of course, it lacks a headphone jack which I miss dearly.
Taken in consideration though, the positives far exceed the downsides and what I have written in this review. I am very satisfied with this purchase and I think this is the best phone I’ve owned.
This truly is a Great phone… There are a lot of people leaving reviews and cry because little glitches… All I have read in these reviews I have not experienced any of them so maybe just maybe they are looking for faults but phone just works it does everything it is meant to and 200 off is a real bonus…
The only issue I had is the swipe from left to right function. It took me a while to get used to . But the price I paid 600 on Amazon with 12 months installments was incredible price
Moved back to android after having iPhone work phones for some years. I wish I could combine the best features of both as there are things I miss about my iPhone. The OS is fine to get along with and the cameras seem great, not a huge photography person, just appreciate a nice photo. Battery seems to last a good while, no performance issues so very pleased with i
I like Google phones and I have used them consistently for the last ten years. Unfortunately this model refused to recognise my fingerprints consistently and I couldn’t type at the curved edges. I thought that the design was blocky and heavy. Display and cameras seemed good but I returned it. It seemed to have been released before problems were sorted out. Nevertheless it won’t stop me burying other Pixels in the future
Update: this phones performance has gradually got worse to the point that it is now causing me anxiety. The fingerprint sensor has gone from 2nd rate to doing as it pleases and often completely ignores my finger completely. The bugs people have been complaining about seem to now be showing their faces. Rebooting randomly, not registering touches, unresponsive apps, terrible battery life which had previously been good! How can this happen? Stock Google software on a Google phone should run like clockwork, yet it’s fast becoming one of the worst phone/software experiences I’ve ever had. I wish I could return it but sadly it’s too late.. Honestly, wait for the Pixel 7 if you want a Pixel. However, I’d probably look elsewhere.
Apart from the 2nd rate fingerprint reader, this phone is an absolute masterpiece. It has also exceeded my expectations on battery life and it’s nice to know you always have the latest version of Android.
