The previous Batman games were far better. This game is very repetitive and boring at times. I wanted more takedown options. Previous Batman games had takedown challenges and benefits for finishing an encounter with stealth. This game has almost no stealth component and you can brute force nearly all the missions. The mission progression can stall as you need to interrogate a certain faction to advance a mission. Sometimes it’s hard to find the faction or it is easy to accidentally knock out the one enemy you need to interrogate. It’s a frustrating and annoying component.

Grandson said it had a few bugs but stated a lot of games do but always gets worked out by updates. Otherwise he’s very picky so if he likes it must be good

Bought this for my son as a Christmas 2022 present.

    My Sons review:

Excellent game and excellent graphics. It is one of the harder games I have so it is better that way, so got more time to play the game and complete the levels. A+++

Got this for a good price and was pleased with my purchase. The graphics are good controls responsive and the gameplay was good.
I hadn’t been playing very long when I realised that it was getting repetitive. The ability to change characters was good buy again then were all very similar.
The game seems to consist of check the map travel to that place and beat up the bad guys. There is an overarching story but that seems slow going.
If you are a fan of the characters and enjoyed the later batman games then this could be for you.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersThis is a good fun game. However, I did learn that you should change the difficulty level to “very easy”. Because the thousands of thugs you have to work through are less like sponges and make it a repetitive grind. Getting through them quicker makes playing the game much more fun.
I played it on harder difficulties and there was a lot of button bashing and timed attacks that are impossible to pull off. Even on very easy this is true, but at least it doesn’t take more than a few hits to knock one out. The main villain fights are still tough and almost impossible on a harder difficulty. Clayface would take 500 hits.

You have the entire city to explore and all four characters to upgrade.

I played it single-player, offline. I only had 1 crash and even that just sent me back to the menu and I restarted that mission.
There are lots of time trails which you can skip.

The button system was poorly explained. I was ten hours in before I realized how the RB power button worked. You can’t jump unless your near a wall which is weird. Navigating around the city becomes easier once you unlock Knighthood mode. But again, that was not explained to me until I watched a YouTube video and quickly changed my gameplay to unlock these features. Its not fun travelling around an entire city on a bike one road at a time. Faster transversal should be standard, not an unlock perk.

Red Hood has guns, and all of them throw thugs off roofs. The “no killing” rule is ignored.

But the game is fun. Its big and the boss fights are epic. I do recommend this game; you will enjoy it.
