Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI played this game out of curiosity to see what the fuss was about . Some of the JK controversy caught my eye on YouTube but aside from that I have played for like 60 hours so far.

This game can be one of two things – An obsession for Harry Potter Fans or an Action RPG that is engaging. For me the latter thanks. After two classes in Hogwarts and having completed Dark Souls 1,2,3 and Elden Ring I thought, let me just go out into the world and see what I find and discover. The controls are easy on this.

I came across huge spiders, the basic wand Right Trigger lets you zap things and some things take more shots. Huge Trolls took 5 minutes to end and having to dodge the yellow indicators for rocks thrown but it is fine. I have faced MUCH MUCH greater and stronger foes than this game can ever offer. I am using to rolling and dodging with good timing so this is no different when faced with multiple goblins and the only bit that takes getting used to is allocating spells whilst holding down LEFT trigger to make the spell menu in all 4 buttons active of
    BOTTOM – A – Red of Fire
    LEFT – X – Purple with throwing
    RIGHT – B – Yellow of levitation
TOP – Y – Reveal spell or invisibility

All spells have cooldowns if used right. If going into a battle and you see that you need to change something, it is not like dark souls that unforgivingly gives no pause and lets enemies beat on you until you change something. RIGHT on DPAD pauses the game and lets you reallocate spells. Battlefocus means all red and fire spells. Incendio etc.

This game has a LOT OF DETAIl. I mean LOTS! They took SO MUCH effort to design this Hogwarts Academy and surrounding towns. It is not quite as immense as Elden Ring but quite cool for what it is. This game does have replayability and when you get to level 15 you can use a broom and buy one and fly around most places if you want to.

THANK YOU SO MUCH Warner Brothers for not impeding my fast travel from ANY POINT of the game. Some games are like “CANT FAST TRAVEL FROM HERE BOY!” But this game is from ANYWHERE> Finally! Thank you! It is annoying having to go back through an entire cave system JUST to be free of it despite no enemies anywhere.

This game has elements of Assassins Creed without the climbing up buildings. It is a blend of Dark Souls, GTA and the old Harry Potter Game.

It takes place 200 years before and you can be black or Asian in this game.
A high percentage of students in this in England in 1800 are not white which doesn’t go well with factual history but makes an effort to be inclusive in a multicultural society. Makes no bones to me but one can just see the forced Woke diversity although we know in 1800 there was like nobody who emigrated to England.

The game is engaging and characters are coool.
Some of the voiceovers like the girl in the pub in Hogsmead does not match with the voice versus appearance of the character (deep mans voice for a clear woman) but doesnt matter. The lock spell is nice (Alohamora) and riding a broom is fun.

Rumour has it that a Quidditch DLC multiplayer is coming for matches between teams. Should be good if so.

If you’re a fan of fable, and of course Harry Potter. You will love this game. The voice characters are very reminiscent, and in fact, some are the same as the characters in favour of itself, and until we actually get fable for this is a brilliant substitute graphics are phenomenal. The open world feature and the gameplay is absolutely brilliant. You will not be disappointed. It was worth every penny. I’ve been playing it admittedly for two days only a week but I’m now on my fourth week so great value for money

Good game, but a bit too short, and a bit too high a price tag for what you end up getting. Great though and if your a Harry Potter Fan, you’ll love it for the nostalgia.

    I absolutely love this game.
My wife is a HUGE Harry Potter fan and thus, I have seen the films, but by no means consider myself a ‘fan’.
I love RPS’s , especially the last 3 Assassin’s Creed games (Origins, Odyssey and Valhalla) so when I saw the trailers for this game, I was immediately interested.

The visuals are absolutely gorgeous, from Hogwarts itself, to Hogsmeade to the open world and beyond. Gameplay is fluid and combat is easy but varied.
Characters are interesting and quirky, as you’d expect from the world of Harry Potter.

As this game is based 200 years before the events of the first Harry Potter book/film, you do not need to be a huge fan or follower to enjoy the experience. Although I recognise a few surnames, who are obviously ancestors of characters of the books/films, (Professor Weasely for example), it’s basically a fresh slate and a brand new experience, so I wouldn’t be concerned if you’ve never seen a Harry Potter film in your life.

For hardcore fans, the game is an absolute dream with massive attention to detail. You can literally live out your dream without any restrictions on where you can travel; whether it be Hogwarts, the forbidden forest or Hogsmeade, you are free to walk, run and fly (!) wherever you want. You can choose to take part in classes, help other students in the many side quests or simply concentrate on the main missions.
You can even take part in tournaments, such as flying and dueling

I’m around 26+ hours in, so probably around half way, and I can’t wait to see how the rest of the story unfolds! Highly recommended for lovers of RPS’s and/or Harry Potter!

From A True Harry Potter fan About this game I love the game and gameplay and everything you can do in it But What I’m really disappointed is The Story For The Game Is Not Really Good and I’m disappointed this is my true honesty and the game was over hyped

As the title suggests this is the best game the Harry Potter World has to offer. Great combat mechanics (very souls born-esque) great story immersive and large world with lots to do. I could go on forever about all the great things this game has to offer a great buy and worth every penny, you’ll not be disappointed.

Reasons I don’t give it a 5 star rating are 1. Don’t get to play quidditch and 2. Terrible audio file and voice for Sirona.

That’s it fantastic game and an absolute shoe in for GoTY

This game is absolutely fantastic. It is the first story based game in years where I have wanted to look in to every little distraction on offer. It looks stunning and is so much fun to play with an immersive story and fun side missions. In recent years I have not played a game that makes me want to complete everything the game has to offer, Hogwarts Legacy lures you in to this. An amazing achievement from the game developers. Oh and don’t worry about starting school in year 5, there is a point to it and you soon forget to care about this. Enjoy!

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersWell if I’m completely honest I am very picky when it comes to games and get bored very easy, I bought this game in hesitation as wasn’t sure if I would enjoy it but I can honestly say it’s one of the best games I have played in years. Well put together story is great, there are a couple of things that get you thinking aswell (puzzles) which is also great.

If you are in two minds with this game all I can say is definitely buy it, it’s a nice long game aswell so it will keep you busy.

Also well done to the creators what a well thought out game indeed.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI am still quite early on in the game and playing on my series X, after about 5 hours of play I have had no glitches or problems of any sort, the voice acting is clear the characters look good and the scenery especially buildings is photo realistic in my opinion, Hogwarts and Hogsmead really do look amazing.
Controls are easy and responsive, wand combat is very enjoyable, the pace is slow but not so much as to be really boring but makes you appreciate the excellent fast travel system.
I thought my game had glitched at one point when the bartender who looks like a woman spoke in a very deep voice which was a little immersion breaking , a friend who also plays this game revealed it is far from a glitch but the character is later revealed to be transgender, in all honesty I prefer political propaganda to be left out of my games and I don’t feel its a suitable or necessary subject that the game needed, I know trans people and frankly am a bit tired of hearing constant Lgbt propaganda, for my 10 year old niece I feel its an unsuitable subject and was probably stuck in to spite JK Rowling and is frankly by some going to be considered unnecessary and or inappropriate for a game based in the Harry Potter universe, so just be aware for some people it may be a little age inappropriate for younger kids, some parents won’t care but for those who do it’s nice to be made aware of the subject matters your kids are exposed to.
As far characters go my favourite so far is Natty who is a really kind natured witch who moved to Hogwarts from a foreign Country and hearing details of other magical schools is interesting.
So far an enjoyable experience I’m taking my time with, my personal favourite Harry Potter games will always be Chamber of secrets on ps2 and Prisoner of Azkhaban of gamecube because they were just unbelievably fun but for any fan of the Harry Potter films and books or Fantastic Beasts films I would recommend this game, the makers really did a fine job and the details will delight readers and film fans alike.

The amazing world that JK Rowling gifted to the world continues to inspire and entrance, whatever the medium in which it is presented. This game is no exception.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersIntroduction:
I wanted to give a quick review of Hogwarts Legacy for those who might be a bit doubtful even if preview have been encouraging so far! For those who just got the game or will order it, I will encourage them to put the disc asap to start installing the game as there is 67Gb data to be downloaded and 11Gb from the disc (quite fast for the latter of course). As soon as you will reach the minimum installation to play the game, you will have to setup a few settings, customise your player, you will be able to link your account online as well (including getting your house, your wand, your patronus based on some quizzes) and you will be good to go for the start of the preliminary story that will help you to know the controls of the game which is quite nice.

    Gameplay:
So far, the gameplay is pretty much straight forward, quite classic with a few details about your character, the potions you have, your strength, the controls with the different spells, you can use and probably learn later on in the game, the map and information about the quest in progress. As I have finished the preliminary story, I’m still waiting for the game to be fully installed and move forward and get to know better if other details will be added.
In summary, nothing revolutionary, classic RPG stuff and for the time being, clearer as there are less details.

    Graphics:
I’m playing on a 720p video projector which is not ideal to take profit of the full strength of next gens consoles but I can assume that the graphics will be even better with a better screen. On my video projector, the graphics look amazing and the HP atmosphere is definitely there. I mean the details look great, it’s really smooth and fluid, and different plays in the game are amazing, lots of details.

    Story:
The preliminary story is honestly great and I can’t wait to play furthermore, I won’t spoil anything but so far it’s great. You’re playing a grown-up witch going to Hogwarts straight to year 5 which has been mentored by another witch to catch up with his future classmates. However, something strange is going on while is going to Hogwarts which leads him and his mentor to make a little detour…

    Soundtrack:
Definitely Harry Potter/Fantastic Beasts kind of soundtrack, a little bit different but same theme. You can feel sometimes it’s more Harry Potter and sometimes a little bit of Fantastic Beasts. So you won’t be disappointed.

    Controls:
Probably the worst part of the game, I mean, not a big deal, it’s still smooth to play and I’m not an expert, I have played a few RPG and it lacks a little bit of precision while you going to a direction, it’s not neat, probably other will relate (or not…). For the rest, it’s all good, nothing to be worried about, everything works and it’s quite aligned with other games. You won’t have to adapt big time.

    Conclusion:
So I think players have waited enough for this game and it’s not disappointing at all!
It’s really true to Harry Potter series and for the fans, it was the game they were waiting for, being part of Hogwarts virtually so I do believe success will be there!

Overall, I would definitely recommend to Harry Potter fans (even those who are not!) and also RPG fans, it definitely got some potential here: the graphics are great, the soundtrack gives you the right atmosphere, the story look intriguing as well. I will dig into the game to know more about it and probably update my review later on! Probably some add ons coming later on to get a longer game and keep players excited about the game. Multiplayer could be a great addition to the game with game pass seasons (as they do on many free to play games but it would be kind of unfair for a paid game well we do see it in games like NBA 2k series or Fifa series as well so it wouldn’t be shocking…). Let’s hope the developers keeps the players excited for other stuff!

True to Harry Potter series! ⚡️
