First of all, I was slightly confused over the setting up of the monitor re Quick Setup,
I soon realised step B was an either / Or decision, anyway soon realised what was required.
Next issue, at first I couldn’t get the monitor to power up, am thinking where is the power on button?
So I thought to myself , I really don’t want to have to go the process of re-packing this and sending it back.
Then I thought will disconnect from my pc and just simply try and power it up on a kitchen work top.
What I discovered was that it is crucial to ensure that the HDMI cable is firmly pushed into the monitor HDMI connector and the same with the 13amp power lead, and then Voila the moniter sprang into life.
After that all was good, do make sure you download HP Display Centre as explained on the quick setup stage. Once you have done that it is far easier to configure the monitor to your desired settings re brightness and contrast etc.
Bought to elevate my study set up, picture quality great, easy to set up and looks great. Haven’t used much for gaming, but works perfectly well for watching TV.
Excellent monitor. Easy to set up. Great picture. Looks clean – super thin edges. Stand is solid (I’ve used a Vesa arm though for desk ergonomics). Fully recommend
The monitor is very great value and arrived in a timely manner, easy to use and setup with another desktop.
Only negative I can report, is that the Base could have been larger in diameter, to make it steadier.
It is now my main screen for my writing. Very bright and sharp. Had to tone down the brightness. Don’t game so no stars. Stand is not adjustable leans slightly forward. Bit tacky, considering build of the screen is strong and excellent. Recommend. Price was competitive.
I needed a monitor for my study as I spend a fair bit of time working from home using a small laptop and the laptop screen is just too small. This monitor is a cheap but good value one, it has a 222 screen of HD quality and easily connects to my laptop, and I can use it on its onw or as a second screen. I can also use it to play pc games and / or console games, it has a HD connection and a normal pc video connection (VGA). Easy to set up, and seems to have a good quaility screen. Not the very best monitor you can buy, but also not the worse, its a good value one, mid range but works fine.
I needed a bigger screen than my laptop provided so I went for this one as it suited my budget. The colours are a bit different from the laptop (I use them together as two separate viewing screens), but apart from that it’s fine and does the job. Easy to set up too.
This works fine, i use it for gaming as i dont have the most powerful pc so dont need crazy refresh rates or resouloution however if you do need those i reccomend an alternative, saying that this is oerfect for school, work or basic gaming and is slim and modern looking, especially with a monitor arm.
Nice monitor, decent picture quality. Suits my needs for basic office stuff and the odd facebook game or seven. Ive had to put it on a box as its a bit lower than i was expecting. Also in the description it says there is a VGA cable included but there was only a HDMI and a power cable. After re-reading i noticed on one part it says its included but another part doesnt mention it being in the box, so beware.
This monitor screen was very easy to set up, pretty much plug-in and go, and was quicklyable to set the display to work with 3 screens as extensions.
I bought this monitor over other options mainly because of the price. 169.99. HP monitors are not usually this cheap from experience.
Probably not suitable if you are an Artist, Graphics Designer etc but for normal WFH office administration this is perfect.
I ordered it yesterday and was expecting delivery in 5 days time but it came next day which was amazing. (But also worrying since I could have been working in the office today and was not expecting a home delivery, but luckily I was in because I happen to not be feeling well).
Bought this to help me manage my screen/windows much better – 27 inches is the perfect size for this! Can have multiple windows open without having to scrunch them up. Image quality is pretty decent, does feel slightly grainy but maybe that because I’m using this at a desk so I’m too close? All in all though, its a decent, solid screen that delivers what I need.
This is a very affordable Full HD Monitor that would be ideal for those seeking a simple yet good quality monitor for everyday use.
This is a 27″ monitor by HP with a 1080p resolution and really sleek, modern design. The monitor doesn’t take up a lot of room on my desk yet still provides excellent quality images. It is also very easy to set up. You connect it up to your PC tower and you plug it into the wall. In my case, all it took was a HDMI cable and the plug cable and I was ready to go.
A nice feature, is the fact that the screen can be tilted backward and forward so you can achieve a comfortable position for your needs. I keep mine tilted back slightly which works great for writing.
This is definitely designed to be an everyday, simple monitor. The price is excellent for the quality and it is very easy to set up. If you want to do graphic design, there are definitely better monitors out there that could even support 4k for maximum resolution but, as 1080p HD monitors go, this is a very, very good one.
The only (minor) downside to this monitor, was the fact that it arrived with a European plug so I had to buy an adapter to plug it in here in the UK. However, it could just be due to the fact that I received the item as a ‘review’ item. Despite that, I have been using this monitor daily together with the EU-UK plug adapter and it was worked wonderfully well.
Upon opening the box, you are greeted with the 27″monitor itself, one HDMI cable, the Manual, the base and a power cord. There are no screws, it just all clicks into place in order to set it up.
There is no height adjustment and also no swivel. There is tilt adjustment but let’s face it, if it had all that adjustment the monitor would be more expensive and once you have it in place you don’t move it anyway. It also has Vesa mount ability at 100 X 100.
The monitor looks smart with slim bezels and a small HP logo at the front. The stand itself is circular and quite small.
The only ports at the back of the monitor consist of 1 X HDMI port and 1 X VGA port which I didn’t know why they added as hardly anyone uses VGA anymore but maybe this was a move to keep the monitor costs low and there is also NO USB Ports.
When unboxed and set up, the HP27e weighs 4.5Kgms roughly, which is lightweight compared to my 25″ Dell.
Upon switching on, you have a 5 button system underneath the right hand corner which is surprisingly simple to use unlike some of the rest of the monitors I worked with but alas no joystick button here.
It has 4 levels of response time level which are,
Level 1
Level 2 “Fast”
Level 3
Level 4 “Fastest”
I haven’t got the equipment to test these but no doubt lvl 4 would be the worst for ghosting just to achieve the 5ms response time as do all monitors.
The monitor has NOT GOT AMD Freesync OR Nvidia G-Sync.
I did however run the Spyder 5 Elite Calibration software on the HP 27e and here is the results I got in regards of colour but each monitor will vary slightly.
sRGB = 90%
NTSC = 75%
AdobeRGB = 77%
P3 = 76%
Also I found this panel I tested had NO Back Bleed what so ever.
It has also all the usual offerings “as seen from the image but I report on each one it would get tp the point you would no longer read the review as it would be to long but I will report, this HP 27e monitor is a 60HZ monitor and is 8bit, so you must ask yourself who is it for?
Is it for the casual worker that just needs a monitor and also light gaming and who takes the odd photo and using Photoshop, then I would say yes. This HP 27e IS NOT a high end gaming monitor “hence the price”. A 27″ monitor at 149.99 at time of writing “26/04/21” isn’t bad to be fair but you get what you pay for. It still looks good and modern and is for the everyday person just looking for a low cost monitor. My other Monitor is thee Hp Omen 27i 165hz at just over 3 times the price but I need it for work.
I hope I gave you some info into the HP 27e and the review was helpful in some way into making your mind up on buying it.
The picture quality is pretty good – it’s not going to blow you away. The blacks are dark but not deep, the colours are bright but don’t ‘pop’. If youre looking for a monitor to work on – this is an easy reccomendation.
It will certainly play media with no issue, it’s clean and crisp enough for a casual viewer. But if you’re big into your movies and such, it may be a little bit underwhelming.
All in all, I think if you’re looking for a monitor at this price range, your expectations should be less than a Samsung oled or quantum dot or whatever their latest ‘mind blowing’ displays are called now. But honestly, I don’t think you can expect any better than this monitor at this price.
It’s big, it’s a good display, it’s plug and play and will be a picture more than satisfying for all but the most demanding. For those who are shopping at this price range, for me at least, the most important thing is that I’m buying something that works well, nothing dodgy from some dodgy brand with big claims on suspect specs. This is a solid choice that I can’t imagine anyone is going to regret – reccomended!

Price to performance is great, has an array of options, and has worked fantastic so fa

Picture quality very good and was easy to connect to my Surface Pro once I had the correct wire to connect to the HDMI lead.
Bought to use as a second screen, does the job perfectly
I needed a monitor for my study as I spend a fair bit of time working from home using a small laptop and the laptop screen is just too small. Bought two for multi screen use. Not used for gaming just office and picture editing. Good product very happy with them

Screen is great for picture quality, was easy to put together and link to my Mac..
Good size, all in all very satisfied, great product.

It is exactly what it says it can do . 60hz 27 inch monitor. i personally use as a side monitor with a 144 hz as the main.
