The case is exceptionally good, and it already protected my iPad from a few falls. I love that you can detach the keyboard and the typing in general is nice and smooth.
However, I have to say that by taking the iPad out of the cover and inserting it back in the border of the cover got ruined easily, for the price of this product you would expect something sturdier. It looks more aesthetic the issue, but still…
Also, since the keyboard can be detached, I would’ve loved to have a way to sustain the iPad in portrait mode rather then only landscape (similar to fire tablets), as it would help when reading pooks and so on.
The iPad battery level drops much faster when the keyboard is attached, even in sleep mode, which makes me think the keyboard never sleeps.
When using the keyboard any autocapitalisation set op on the iPad doesn’t get processed so, for example, shift has to be pressed at the beginning of proper nouns.
Super handy and much cheaper than Apple. It works really well and does the job. Stands up well also. It’s however a bit heavy.
Does the job as you want it, has a Mac layout rather than Windows, can do all the Mac keyboard commands. Good keyboard and track pad, lightweight, and I got it much cheaper here than on Logitech’s website.
Great, sturdy quality. Feels hardwearing. The magnetic connection is strong. The ability to remove the keyboard is great as is the ability to attach it backwards when it’s not needed. Quite heavy overall when attached.
It would be great if a non-keyboard cover could be provided to just cover the screen and flap backwards when using the screen.
But, I love it and it’s great value for money.
My laptop has just decided to die, which i use for work, so for an emergency solution i ordered the Logitech Combo to use with my iPad Air 5, I must say i’m quite impressed, its been said you can’t use this on your lap, well i’m typing this on the Combo on my lap in the lounge.
Yes it does increase the weight of your iPad, but for shear flexibility and considerably less in price than the Apple Keyboard, I think this really good value for money.
I’ve now been using this at customers sites for the last week to write service reports, the one big benefit of this is, the customer can sign my report using the Apple Pencil, completely eliminating paperwork.
Highly recommend
This is a great addition to your iPad… Easily as good as an apple one… It’s transformed my daughters uni work. I pound for pound don’t think you can do better than this Logitech keyboard
Almost all positives for this case. It works seamlessly with the iPad Air. No need to mess about with BT connections, just attach the keyboard and you’re ready to type. The keyboard, although small, is ok to type on and I especially appreciate that it is backlit. I also like that it is easy to detach the iPad and back case from the keyboard for those times you just want to sit back and watch or read something on the iPad. The adjustable stand helps with this. The only minor negative is that the case and keyboard do add a fair amount of weight to the iPad. Perhaps they’ll be able to slim it down a bit in the next iteration. Overall, I’m very please with this high quality case.
A little heavier than I thought it would be, nice and easy keys to use, quality seems good I would buy agai
This is a real sturdy case, it doesn’t feel flimsy and I can count on it to protect my iPad Air. The magnetic mechanism is sound and is easy enough to open as well as snap together and detach the keyboard from the iPad itself. The keyboard is great to type on and the backlit keys are great in darker environments.
I had a cheaper 40 keyboard from amazon that did the job but the keyboard was cut half the size to fit the battery so I wanted to get a new one from Logitech! purchased this for my birthday and the quality and functionality is way better than my previous one, writing notes and doing assignments are way more comfortable, and the typing experience is great, the track pad is way is super helpful as it takes your ipad to the next level, i absolutely love it. Another thing that i noticed is that the sides of the case that attaches to your Ipad is silicone and will not put any scratches or marks on it as I have had problems with that before. The design of the case is super sleek and premium although a bit bulky, the case is heavy but still not as bad as my 16 inch laptop so that is not a problem for me as long as it stays compact. A couple of complaints I would have about this case is that the you cannot put the keyboard behind the Ipad as I feel it will wear it down, but that might just be me feeling paranoid, another problem would be I cannot look at the battery percentage like with my other keyboard, and the can’t control the backlights on the keyboard either. Overall if you want a great quality keyboard I would definitely go for this as the price is completely worth it.
This is a very practical and sturdy case. The keyboard is a really useful addition and massively complements the iPad Air. It is good due to the fact you can detach the keyboard if you want to and the stand at the back allows for the iPad to be placed on a table and still be viewed.
You can definitely feel the quality of the materials used in this and know it is doing a good job of protecting the iPad.
In summary it is a strong and useful cover, allowing for you to prop up your iPad and also type.
Bought to type and work on my iPad Air. It’s well made and protects the iPad as well as offering the keyboard/trackpad function. It is better when you use it on a desk/ table. You can use it on your lap, but the iPad does wobble around when you type on the keyboard. Good quality product overall
The case which you Clo your iPad into is very sturdy, and quite thick, it’s definitely very strong and secure. The buttons are still ok to press and you can still use and charge your Apple Pencil.
The keyboard is great, especially the large trackpad. Rarely the cursor disappears and the keyboard gets confused, but it you just disconnect it briefly, everything restores, you can also just touch the screen, this seems to override the keyboard.
All in all this has enabled me to leave my MacBook at home 95% of the time, and just take my iPad, which is great, because it looks like I’m working hard, but really I’m playing games
The rubberised lip around the front of the case doesn’t quite fit. The keyboard works well and is a nice device to type on. The trackpad is also of high quality. But considering this is an iPad, not sure the device can be terrific because it conflicts with the way the iPad is meant to be used. It adds a significant amount of weight and bulk. The clamshell keyboard is reversible but I found myself constantly switching it around or using it in keyboard mode all the time which reduces the functionality of the iPad. This keyboard turns the iPad into a computer, literally. Although they’ve tried to make it appealing by suggesting it is versatile, it might be but humans aren’t and you find yourself using it in all sorts of weird ways to avoid removing the keyboard.
Would not use the iPad in this way because it defeats the object so save your money and buy a Chromebook or laptop if that’s what you need. This will not bridge that gap or scratch that itch.
I bought this for my iPad Air 2022 after doing a bit of a research. I made comparisons with this and Apple’s own magic keyboard cover. I just could not bring myself to purchase the magic keyboard due to price so I settled for this keyboard cover instead. I have to say I am glad I did.
The touchpad has good sensitivity and is accurate.
The keyboard connects up and communicates precisely.
The case itself when closed does not touch the screen so it protects the screen.
The battery life I cannot comment as I generally have the keyboard attached when in use.
My only issue with the case is that it is a little bulkier than expected. Although this is to be expected with a keyboard, I would prefer it to be slightly thinner. Functionality wise though, I cannot complain. It works well for what I need.
Good quality keyboard, fits snuggly on the case, expensive but good quality
Affordable, sturdy and easy to use. It’s such w great product. And looks stylish as well.
I really wanted a keyboard for my iPad given I use it quite a lot. Was always hesitant in spending that much money on the apple versions – even the folio keyboard going upto 180. Came across this option from Logitech and found it better on cost as well as functionality. Basically you get it for cheaper than the apple folio keyboard but u still get the trackpad which you get only with magic keyboard.
The trackpad does lag slightly – but frankly it can be easily ignored and doesn’t interfere with the experience and isn’t a big deal at all – unless u absolutely need the trackpad in which case, I would advise trying out this keyboard before buying it.
Sometimes I work from my bed whilst the baby is feeding or sleeping. I made the mistake of attaching the keyboard back by just closing the iPad whilst it was resting on my leg. Big mistake. Caught my skin in the gap. Strong grip it has i guess just don’t use it on your lap like I did
I had been using all sorts of different alternatives to a keyboard with my IPad Air 4 – until I found this on Amazon.
I was a little sceptical at first but when it arrived – it connected immediately with my iPad and it was very easy to use. The packaging and the product are very high quality. If you have an IPad and need a keyboard; this additional item turns your IPad into a laptop and it runs smoothly. The keyboard quality is sublime and worked in real time with typing on the screen and so does the trackpad. I found I was able to adapt to the keyboard very quickly and the shortcuts are extremely useful.
I would advice anyone to get this product if they feel they needed a keyboard for their IPad.
Very happy with the build quality and functionality, found it took a number of attempts to get it to connect and function correctly. Found that I had to change accessibility settings on the iPad to get the keys to work.
This is a great alternative to the apple magic keyboard at half the price. Even better on a warehouse deal….
It’s different so make sure you check out each product to pick what’s right for you.
This has an extra row if dedicated function keys that’s really useful. It also folds right back so you can use it like a tablet whilst still attached.
It still provides protection whilst you use it as a tablet whereas you’d have to remove the iPad completely from the keyboard to use as a tablet..,
And the stand still works with the keyboard folded back so it should work just fine on a plane tray table for watching movies..
So overall, it suits me just fine and I much prefer it’s price…
Some background first. I’m using this with an iPad Air 2022, and it works just fine.
Background about me — I’m middle-aged and have been typing since I was ten years old. I type very fast, at around 120WPM. My fingers are in the very very early stages of becoming arthritic, in that I increasingly wake up with them aching slightly. But this does not yet affect my typing. My hand are around average size for a man.
In summary, I like this keyboard case a lot. The keyboard is about as small as it can be without compromising the ability to type. Getting used to it takes a very small amount of adjustment, and in particular the backspace key isn’t quite as large as I’m used to. I sometimes hit the key above it, which is the lock button, so accidentally turn the iPad off. Again, this is about adjusting how I work.
The key travel is very small. That is, the distance the key must be pressed is literally a millimetre or two. Personally, I like this but if you’ve got heavy typing fingers then I’m unsure if you’ll find this OK. My late father had learned to type on manual typewriters, and made the desk bounce when he typed on his laptop. He’s the kind of person I suspect might adjust to typing on a keyboard like this. I would certainly suggest trying it out somewhere before purchasing if you have any concerns. You need to keep your nails short too, which is the case with all “low profile” keyboards like this (including Apple’s most recent laptops).
The trackpad works great. It’s not glass, though, like my MacBook Pro that I came from. This means my finger doesn’t glide quite as smoothly. I suspect this will fix itself as the trackpad gets a little finger grease on there, and as I start to wear it down. Again this is more an issue of adjustment. But it clicks fine. This is the new generation, so you can click anywhere. The older generation only allowed clicking on the bottom half. The trackpad is wide but there’s no issue for me around accidentally touching it while typing. My palms rest on the fabric parts of the keyboard case.
Opening the case can be a little fiddly. As weird as it sounds, it’s like they didn’t design it with this in mind. You have to prise apart the top and bottom edges of the case by getting your fingertips underneath each. If you have an Apple Pencil (or cheap knock off hint-hint) magnetically attached to the top of the case then it’s even more difficult.
Random top tip: Go into Settings > Accessibility > Pointer Control on the iPad. Here you can switch off inertia for the pointer, so it doesn’t keep flying off when you lift your finger from the trackpad. You can also adjust scrolling speed to make it slower, and therefore more like you might be used to.
Beware that using this case with the iPad makes the whole thing a little heavier than you might expect. Not as heavy as a laptop but it’s close to what a small laptop might feel like in your hands.
When resting my hands on the keyboard to type, I often feel the slightly sharp rim of the case. This isn’t a big issue. But it’s a slight annoyance.
Using it on your lap is just about possible, but really you need something like a laptop tray for long periods.
Another random top tip: Download the Logitech Control app. It will update the firmware. From what I’ve been reading, this is vital.
All in all I’m happy with this. Or I would be if it wasn’t for the cost. The retail price of 180 is just stupidly, eye-wateringly expensive. Yes, this is a quality product. But there’s no way on Earth it should cost that much. Even the 150 I got it for here on Amazon is off the scale. My only guess is that greedy Apple charges Logitech a high licensing fee, which is what bumps the price up. This product should cost maybe 50-80.
High price or not, I do feel this is definitely worth it if you want to turn your iPad into a nice little portable computer and don’t want to splash out for Apple’s version of this (which is arguably inferior because it doesn’t protect the iPad against drops as well). Whether you need it or not is up to you.
Note: This review is for the iPad Air 5th Generation 10.9in/iPad Pro 10.9in keyboard models. I’ve seen other reviewers complaining that their case doesn’t have back lights or a removable keyboard, as seen in the pictures. It looks like there are varying keyboards for varying iPad models. So double-check before you purchase.
I’ve been using this keyboard for 6 months before writing this review.
Pros
– Sturdy, premium material that has stood the test of time
– Comfortable to use as a laptop. Keys and track-pad very responsive
– iPad feels protected
– The back stand allows the freedom to choose pretty much any angle
– Function keys (not included on Apple’s own Magic Keyboard)
Cons
– Really increases the weight of the iPad, especially with the keyboard attached
– Keyboard back lights aren’t especially bright. I had initially thought that the light for the space key was defective, so requested a replacement. Received the new keyboard the next day, before I had even returned the original one (kudos to Amazon’s fantastic service). Replacement was the same, so it seems there’s only one light for the space key, which is at the top right. I’m sure it wouldn’t have cost Logitech much more to add a few more lights to the space key, but it’s a minor issue
– When the case is closed, there’s nothing to strap over your pencil to keep it securely attached. This worries me quite a lot, so I tend to leave my pencil at home
Having tried the Magic Keyboard in the Apple Store, I liked the “floating” idea but I found that my fingers would hit the bottom of the iPad when using the number buttons. This keyboard also has the very useful function keys, which the Magic Keyboard doesn’t have. I’d therefore recommend this over Apple’s own keyboard and I’m very happy with the purchase 🙂
I have used several Keyboard Cases over the years over multiple iPads for both work and personal use. This is the first case which makes me think that a Laptop might no longer be needed. The keyboard is absolutely excellent, and the detachable Combo means you get the benefits of an iPAD with the excellent keyboard. The keyboard is powered from the iPAD using the connector on the iPAD Air 4.
Whilst it feels expensive its way cheaper than the OEM keyboard and its better than pro keyboards from iPAD Pros gen 1 and 2. Build quality feels high, and key feel is excellent.
Keyboard 5*
Trackpad 5*
Kickstand on iPad 5 *
The small negative comments are,
The weight of the piece round the ipad could be lighter, but the kickstand is excellent so that’s acceptable
The fabric cover is very tactile but possibly a wipe clean surface would be better.
This is a great keyboard for your iPad and half the price of the Apple version. You need to download an app to get it to work but this only took a few minutes to sort out and was straight forward to set up. The keys are really nice to type with and the overall casing will definitely protect the iPad.
Lovely keyboard cover for ipad air 4th gen. Full protection for the tablet and the keyboard can be removed easily by magnetic. I gave 4 stars if it wasn’t for the slight imperfection on the case as you can see on the picture which is little disappointing considering the price i paid for it. But does not affect the workings of the keyboard. I do recommend this case 🙂
I thought long and hard before I bought this, and don’t regret the decision, with it turning my I pad Air into the nearest thing to an Apple I book/laptop.
The Keyboard itself is reliable, backlit, and responsive, housed in a strong and durable casing with all the right slots in all the right places to not remove any of the available outlets and inlets to the I pad.
There’s also a finger trackpad for moving the cursor around which again is responsive and of a standard that you would expect from your better than average laptop. The casing is also very secure and holds the Ipad firmly. There’s a slot for my I pencil to charge through, and a carrier too. So as cases go this pretty much covers all the bases.
I have noticed though I do seem to have to charge the Ipad more often as the demand for power from the keyboard case I think is quite high. That said its not a problem, and I consider it to be good value for money well spent.
My first ever review because this is just TOO GOOD. Totally transforms an iPad into a laptop – feels very seamless and high quality and not at all ‘clunky’ like cheaper versions. 100% worth the money and I’m so glad I invested in this as a doctoral student. I love it! Very smart looking and so so functional. Keys are a great size too. Feels just like using a laptop!
I didn’t really want something like this for my iPad at first because it would defeat half the point of having my Macbook, but in the end I decided to pick this up after I started using it more at work. This case feels extremely sturdy and it has a nice premium feel to it. The keyboard provides a great typing experience and the trackpad is perfect – accurate, decently sized, and feels satisfying to press. The shortcut buttons are super useful. The backlight is perfectly bright enough for late night typing.
The keyboard attaches to the case with magnets with a very sturdy connection – almost too sturdily as I feel like I’m going to tear the keyboard in half with how much it wants to stay on!
The volume buttons being a plus and minus shape is great for quickly finding what button you need to press.
One thing I wish it had was an adjustable typing angle, but I suppose it’s a bit difficult to do that without making the case even larger.
The stand works well, but I don’t know how long it will last – it feels like I’m just bending a sheet of metal back and forth. I’m sure there’s a proper hinge in there, but it does concern me a little.
The case has a metal sheet in the back which allows the kickstand to come out, after 3 weeks of use the back of the case was slightly bent as the repeated bending causes a disformation this can be easlily corrected apart from that the case is a amazing and works perfectly.
The Logitech Folio Touch is an amazing way to change your iPad Air into a miniature MacBook, the keyboard has its own software on a downloadable app, it has lights for use in the dark and many shortcut keys. The case also is very protective and compact, it folds up nicely but does add quite a bit of weight to the iPad. The case has a perfect magnetic closing mechanism which can also hold your Apple Pencil. The touchpad is very responsive and has many gestures which you can learn via the manual. The case also includes a stand for entertainment viewing when the keyboard is not in use or drawing etc it is very sturdy and useful. Overall the only issue i could give this item is that it effects battery life a small amount other than that this Keyboard is definitely worth a purchase and has earned my 5 star review.

Very nice keyboard for ipad air. Super flexible because you can take the keyboard off and use the ipad as just a tablet. Very easy to use with the trackpad.
Also the the stand is very flexible, so I can lay it slightly up around 20 degrees for writing, or 70 degrees up for typing.
It is a bit heavier than I expected.
I love this keyboard! I had bought a cheaper pink one before but it was not fluid when typing so missed out load of letters – this however is perfect. It picks up on every letter! I had bought a pink ipad and would say the only disappointing thing is – you can’t see the pink ipad because the case covers most of it! But it is a brilliant keyboard / case so no complaints
This keyboard is just perfect substitute for apple ones .A lot cheaper and feels so good to type and use for many other purposes. So easy to set up and the whole thing works like a chrome book or even better. I’m really happy I chose this keyboard than the apple one which was nearly half the price of my iPad ai
Whilst this is undoubtedly excellent quality- Logitech after all produce good products – I am somewhat disappointed hence only 4 stars. Probably my mistake in not paying attention to measurements but I had intended to be able to use the keyboard with my brand new iPad Air 4 on my lap as I have done since my first iPad Air. Unfortunately because of the depth of the trackpad this makes it impossible to use the keyboard unless I am sitting at a desk/table. So I am back to typing on the screen with the keypad folded underneath. It does angle the screen well (and is adjustable).
My other disappointment is that it is so heavy. After all it is for the super thin and light Air 4 but the case cancels this out.
Having said all the above I have to say it really is excellent quality, robust, and very smart to look at when closed. Love the smart connector feature and no need to charge separately as it draws power from the iPad
I read a number of reviews for the Apple keyboard and found a comparison to the Logitech. It is brilliant. Key board touch is excellent and the Ipad is easy to fit in and also remove from the Logitech. I have bought another case to use on site as the Logitech would protect the Ipad well but may be susceptible to damage itself. Apple pen fits well and keeps charged.
If you have an Ipad buy one of these!!!
I have to say i love this Folio from Logitech. Firstly it fits the iPad Air 4th generation perfectly and provides a tight and secure fit with good protection all round. Keyboard is great,so easy and responsive to use and the outer material of the folio is first class too. Overall build quality is superb. The negative has to be the weight and bulk it adds to the ipad, its very noticeable but as I don’t carry mine about very often its not something that bothers me. I managed to purchase this at a lower price from Amazon which was a bonus too. Overall I’m finding this folio superb for daily use and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it.
I bought the new iPad Air 2020 (10.9in) version of this Logitech keyboard after reading reviews of this and the Apple Magic Keyboard. Both are very different designs, there are pros and cons to both. The main pro for the Logitech is of course the price, being less than half the price of the Apple Magic Keyboard, but there are other benefits to this solution too, such as the ability to position the screen at different angles and use it more like a traditional display stand if that’s what you want.
The keyboard is well laid out for the size and feels comfortable to type on with both hands and now that iPads support pointers the trackpad makes this feel more like a traditional laptop, which is far better suited, for me, for productivity such as Word and Excel as well as emailing.
The backlight is a little puny compared to a fully fledged laptop keyboard, but perfectly acceptable. The keys had good travel and feel responsive.
The fishing is an attractive grey fabric which looks hardwearing. The unit is a little chunky when closed up, but still a lot smaller and lighter than most of the other iPad keyboards available, plus this will protect both front and back of your iPad. Your device slots in securely and the keyboard draws the power from the power connector on the rear of your iPad. All buttons are accessible easily, including the tiny Touch ID button on the new iPad Air models.
There’s a small download that your iPad needs to make when you plug the keyboard in for the first time, which allows you to use the external keyboard and mouse function, plus a Logitech app that you can safely bury after installation.
This is a high quality product, works as you would expect with no bugs that I have found so far and is a good price compared to the Apple equivalent. Would happily recommend to any iPad Air owner.
Ok so I bought this keyboard for use with my iPad Air 4 but ended up returning it due to it just adding so much weight to the iPad. I’d say if you are somebody who is going to permanently use your iPad with the keyboard then this is right for you. It’s keys are fantastic, touchpad works great and all around is a really high quality product. If like me you use the iPad for a mixture of typing/working/media consumption/reading etc then this probably is too much money to spend on something you are going to want to constantly remove from your iPad when using it for anything other than using the keyboard.
I bought this to make the iPad Air 4th generation (2020) I bought for my daughter work as a laptop. It’s easy to connect and it works perfectly well. I tested it and it worked as any other keyboard would and it also has a trackpad which majority of the off brand keyboards don’t have.
I also got the pen for my daughter and it is also possible to store the pen and secure it without losing it. The outside is made of fabric I’m not particularly a fan of the colour but it’s great nonetheless. Sturdy good quality and does what’s it’s meant to do.
Great buy well worth the money.
