I haven’t opened it yet but it’s replacing the exact same one I have. So if I’m buying it again, it must be good! Got it on a good offer.
My hygienist recommended this brand and I wanted the model with sensitive/ gum options and the app. The app I found helpful at the beginning but don’t use as much anymore.
I find the pressure light very helpful as someone who brushes too hard – I buy the sensitive bristles (also recommended by my hygienist ).
Really quick delivery and very good product.
Like the snazzy case.
Like the fact I can see how much charge is left as well.
It works with different settings so quite good choice.
Absolutely happy with my new toothbrush. Easy to use, lovely case. So glad I bought i
Had my old oral b toothbrush for about ten years and decided it was well overdue to get replaced. This Is the perfect replacement has a much longer battery life and brushes alot stronger. The oral b app working with the brush is a nice useful feature to make sure you are brushing properly.
Came the day after ordering it and I am not a prime customer.Brought this to replace the one I dropped it’s a good brush does the job well
Best toothbrush I’ve ever had love the app. Gave 4 starts as its a bit noisy if your up early for work and others are sleeping.
Changed up from an old 3000 series oral B toothbrush.
Much lighter, better functionality and nice carry case
These toothbrushes are amazing!
I don’t use the Bluetooth as I think it’s a waste of time. Moth feels really clean and fresh after using. They have bought my inflamed gums back to normality and dentist is really pleased with my brushing. Battery life great!
Got them on a deal, basically pack of 2 brushes for 1 more than the single pack. Well done Amazon!!
This Oral B Genuis X is a brilliant electric toothbrush, I’m no expert and its the first electric toothbrush I’ve ever had, having done some research before deciding on this model, given it’s features, I paid 120 for this model and I feel this is a decent price given its features, it has 6 cleaning modes
1 Pro Cleaning mode
2 Daily Cleaning mode
3 Whitening mode
4 Gum mode
5 Tongues Cleaning mode
I’m not entirely sure what the sixth mode is but i think from reading the manual that there are 2 Whitening modes but I’ve not had a chance to play with all it’s features yet.
It connects to your phone using Bluetooth, you download the Oral B app from Google or The App Store, you can then use the app to do numerous things like timing your brush time, set targets you can even set the mode you want your brush to use when you turn it on, or you can use the buttons on the toothbrush itself to change it’s cleaning mode.
The pressure ring round the top of the handle lights up red if you use too much pressure you can choose your own colour of the pressure ring in the app but it only affects the colour of the ring when you are brushing your teeth with the brush and not applying too much pressure.
I like that when you put the toothbrush on to charge all the lights light up in sequence running from top to bottom it makes the brush s seem more like a modern gadget compared to the average toothbrush, when i recieved the toothbrush from amazon it needed charging so its worth knowing the first charge takes very long it was roughly 20 hours, the first time I used the brush I’d had it on charge for about 9 hours and according to the app the battery was only at 56% I’m not sure if this is normal as this is the first electric toothbrush I’ve ever owned, after that it takes about 2 hours to charge your brush and the packaging claims once charged you’ll get 2 weeks out of it before it needs charging again but I’m not able to confirm this just yet, using the brush was pleasant i was surprised at how powerful the brush is I’ll find a setting that feels maybe not so powerful, but it gave my teeth a good clean they felt nice and smooth after using the brush, I could clearly see if i was using too much pressure because the ring would change from my chosen colour to red which i could easily see out of the corner of my eyes when the colour changed and also the bathroom mirror, i like to store mine in the travel case when its not in use but this means removing the brush head so you might not want to bother with that, its still a handy little travel case if you want to take it away with you.
I’ve included some video in my review to give viewers an idea of what the brush looks like first hand.
I’ve given 5 stars because i think that the price is decent for the features you get and comparing the brush to others available on the market.
I hope this review is helpful…
The best money I could’ve spent on a toothbrush – the app tracks how you brush so you’re not over brushing, or using too much pressure, and it has different cleaning functions oh my it’s amazing! I got mine when it went on sale at Black Friday so the price at the time was great for it if the price holds you back on buying it maybe worthwhile holding back till it’s on sale!
Had the early Oral-B triumph this model is much improved it connects to an Ap on you phone (not automatically though) you start Ap then start brushing it advises how your brushing and show areas missed it which is good for kids you don’t need the main toothbrush for each person just buy extra brush heads for each person, the battery last over a week using 3mins twice a day
First of all the biggest plus point is that my gum health and teeth are in great health and that’s got to be the point of spending money on something like this. So as far as the main purpose of this toothbrush, it has exceeded my expectations. My dentist said to me before she knew I had a new toothbrush, whatever you’re doing, keep doing it. Zero gum inflammation and zero plaque. So that’s got to be good news!
The worst thing about this toothbrush is the app. Even though I state after each brush that my gums are NOT bleeding, within a couple a days and seemingly at random, previous days are changed to say I registered bleeding gums! This is very frustrating as I like to keep accurate records to monitor my progress.
The other issue is with the brush registering that I am cleaning the top right of my mouth. I have to lean my head back at a certain angle to get the sensors to recognise that the brush is at the top right hand side of my mouth. Every other part of my mouth is fine but just this particular area seems to have issues.
So far I’ve found that the battery life is ok. I have to recharge about once every week and a half. This is much more than with my old brush but acceptable as there are so many more features.
I use the black brush and my partner uses the white one. The white brush seems to get through battery charge far quicker and so far we can’t figure out why.
I like the way the app encourages you to keep brushing with awards etc.
Overall, despite a few issues, this toothbrush is worth the money as it’s going to save me money on dentist visits and treatments. I wish I’d bought one earlier.
Update –
1) The issue with recording gum bleeding in the app has been fixed.
2) As far as the brush recognising where it is brushing in your mouth, I’ve found the best way to get this to work is to hold the brush at the far end of the handle. I have a tendency to hold the handle too close to the brush. Since I’ve moved the position of my hand, the brush is far more accurate. It’s not perfect but it’s much better than it was.
3) I’m still enjoying using this brush. However, I really like the rewards for using the brush regularly and I wish there were more available, even for silly things! I just like getting rewards and find it makes the whole boring process of brushing my teeth a bit more fun.
Pack of two toothbrushes suitable for two people but it only comes with one charger and one travel case. Have tried using it with the app. and it works well. Says it only needs charging every 14 days using it twice a day for the two minutes. I find it lasts about 10 days before it needs charging. Needs to be left on to charge for 12 hours to fully charge. Light indicator tells you where you’re up to with battery, gradually dropping from three to one light, then a red light when you need to charge.
I’ve been looking to buy this for a while now but was not prepared to pay over 300 for a toothbrush so was really pleased to see the price come down significantly.
The brush is very neat, many different functions and essentially does the job for what you expect from an electric toothbrush. I’ve had this for a few weeks and I’ve noticed a few things. The timer has stopped working a few times and other times it works fine. Right now it’s working but two days it stopped working. The battery life is very poor. I’m having to charge the toothbrush once or twice a week. The charge goes really quickly. Something to improve on I think. But the app is neat and it reassures me alongside the AI that I’m brushing my teeth well and covering all sides of my mouth.
If you had asked me a few years ago to spend over a hundred pounds on a toothbrush I would have laughed and told you to get a life! Really?? Well I’ve gone and bought one! I must be mad! I saw it on offer and read the reviews and being on instalments I thought why not!! How more crazy can 2021 get?
I’ve used it for 2 days and first impressions are very positive. The app is brilliant and pairing your toothbrush was dead easy. Accuracy of the toothbrush showing where you are brushing and how much pressure is virtually in real time. The app also has lots of other interesting features such as goals to remove plaque and tooth whitening and history and this truly reinvents the toothbrush. If you want a 21st century toothbrush this is it!
I really like this toothbrush after having a sonicare for several years. The only thing I don’t like which I have been used to is that you can’t change the mode without turning it on first.
The Oral-B Genius X toothbrush gives a powerful cleaning experience.
But first things first, I opted for this model as the product description on a side by side comparison of features on the wider Oral-B page and the photos shown (fifth photo as of today) for this model give the impression that you get the charging travel case which I thought would be a great option to have. However what you get is in fact a cheap flimsy white plastic case (that probably cost pennies to make). Not the powered charging case shown.
That said having investigated these further found that probably not as much of a great concept as first thought in that it needs a special power adapter and basically just acts as a sealed charging pod. Not a power bank or usb connected charger.
Though disappointed not to get all the products I thought I was buying I decided to keep the toothbrush anyway.
The Genius X is a powerful rechargeable toothbrush will a oscillating rotary head (one supplied which in my package was a crosshead brush). The choice of 6 programmes (Daily Clean, Pro-Clean, Sensitive, Whitening, Gum Care and Tongue Cleaning) seems varied but in reality as pretty much the same with just the power turned up for the pro clean and down for sensitive settings. And slightly slower rotations for gum and tongue settings. It could do with a variable intensity control.
I have had no problem installing and running the Oral-B app on my Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra and connecting the toothbrush with it. The app provides useful feedback on areas covered (or more importantly not covered) and where too much pressure is being applied. This pretty much matched the areas of brushing my dentist told me I need to give more attention to. So I will now log how I improve in this. One minor niggle is the why the need for gamification and awarding meaningless badges for use. This might appeal to kids but as a fifty something adult i find it a distraction rather than a benefit.
Battery life seems to be less than anticipated on a full charge and twice daily use for 4 days already shows the battery at 55% remaining so is unlikely to make the two weeks promised in the product description.
Finally, there was a registration slip in the box that if filled in online extends warranty to three (3) years.
I needed a new toothbrush and I wasn’t prepared to pay for the new style brushes that mount the charger much easier using magnets.
I watch the advert and read the the brawn information. The toothbrush on its own is fine it’s very lightweight compared to the last one and the battery lasts a lot longer. (Might last toothbrush was on its last legs and a full charge only gave 6 days worth of brushing)
The modes built-in on the toothbrush easy switch between and the new display where it lights up to tell you which mode is selected is also an improvement.
The case is just a bit of plastic that does absolutely nothing. I read somewhere that it had the ability to be used as a backup battery in case you needed to charge on the go. That is not true for this version.
The software isn’t very good, as long as it is paid to your phone and your phone is on and relatively close it does track where you have spent your time brushing. This is however not adjustable which means if you have had teeth removed from your mouth it just assumes you have not brushed those teeth. That is a big oversight in the AI technology where it promised to show you where you need to spend more time brushing. Essentially the software is just a way of them reminding you you that you need to change your toothbrush heads every 3 months. Really that’s all it does. Very little point in cooking it up to your phone. Maybe I can see a reason for children as you get badges on completing certain tasks but for the majority of people you could easily go for the cheaper brush without the AI rubbish. I also felt they could have provided a better selection of brushes in the twin pack. My brushes were black or white (I got two of them being a twin pack) but they were of different types. I ended up using the white one on the black toothbrush and purchasing a totally different brush for the rose coloured toothbrush. When the pack was supposed to be 250, you expect to get your money’s worth. Even if you are purchasing in the sale. Had it not had been in the Amazon sale and and 99 for both brushes it would have gone straight back.
