It is a gift for birthday next month so it’s hard to say exactly how it works but as much as i checked already i would say its all good. Little bit loud but not very bad. Taking out hair like crazy.

    Looks grea

I used another popular brand before until the engine there died.
This one I use in the shower on wet skin and I fell no pain at all. The skin stays smooth for 5 days at least. Love it.

So good – it’s fun to use with foam in the bath. I’ve been waxing at a salon for years I really don’t know that I’ll ever go again so this product will save me loads of time and money.

This is such a great product. You can barely feel any pain, and by that I mean as a direct comparison to other epilators I have used. As you are pulling the hair from the root, it would be insane to think you’re not going to feel anything however, if you’ve waxed before, you will know that with waxing you’re feeling the pain twice as both your skin and hairs are being pulled.
I have used it for my Arpit hair and what I was going to say is you’re better off using the small head as by using the bigger one, you risk getting your skin caught in between the blades.
It also caused no irritation and I have sensitive skin.
Overall, very happy with my purchase!

Bought on offer so good price. Works well if used dry but not so good on wet skin. A little painful and can cause some irritation, but it works well. Very lightweight.

I thought I’d write a review as I’m male and would therefore give a different perspective.

So I’ve always removed body hair but am frankly sick of spending money on razors and having to do it so often.

I tried epilating years ago with the other big brand but gave it up as it just became tedious and painful, obviously us guys tend to have a lot more hair in a lot more places.

So technology has moved on and I tried this out with shower gel and wet skin. On the legs it didn’t really hurt that much, just like a scratch, and it did a perfect job.

The really bad place, the torso – chest and tummy, as bad as I remember, but it seemed a lot easier doing it wet and I won’t have any reason not to use it again, especially now as there should be less to remove, just be careful around your nipples because these things can grab loose or bumpy skin.

I’ll just say under arms, although I don’t grow much anyway, are a breeze and doing your back is like being scratched with miss world’s fingernails.
Your arms surprisingly really hurt, as well as ‘some’ other bits, just get some alcohol down your neck and suck it up!

Warning: don’t try doing any part of your body that isn’t ‘flat’ shall we say.
And don’t do it an hour before going out neither, you’re ripping hairs out of your body so you have to expect a reaction.

Battery life, it’ll do a full hour or so on full charge which is enough, especially after the first time.
I’ve no real use for the accessories which is why I bought the cheaper model.
All in all I’m happy with the purchase.

Pros: price is best for 6 attachments
    Separate attachment for underarm/bikini
Works like a charm, tried my arms and 5mins hair gone…
    Small and compact.
Only con is that it will still hurt but the rotation on the head does help.
Advice: make sure hair isn’t too long( read the small instruction sheet)
I wouldn’t use it wet, I rinse it and leave to dry to avoid rusting
    Looks cute.
Battery lasts as long as you would expect given small size.

    Happy with purchase

Best value... really like this gadge

I have been epilating my legs for the past 20 years and have gone through about 4 Braun epilators. After my last epilator died, I decided, to take the plunge and change direction to a Panasonic instead. I am so pleased I gave it a go, especially as I got it in the sale. This epilator is BRILLIANT! Probably the best epilator I’ve ever used. It is faster, and less painful than my last epilator, but the thing I like most is it has a 48 tweezing disks on a duel rotating head. Because the head rotates, I find it really easy to use and leaves me with minimal irritation. I also don’t have to go over the same areas as often, if at all, as the tweezers catch the hair on the first attempt.
As I stated at the start of the review, I have been epilating my legs for years so I didn’t find it painful to use at all, however, if you are a first time epilator user, you have to remember that you are quite literally pulling your hairs out, so it will most probably be uncomfortable at first.

I own this product more than 2 years now and I am more than satisfied. If epilating is your thing, then this device has been carefully designed to make your life easier. Using it when showering or bathing … genius! Saves tones of time and pain, I can use it every other day and keep on top of things. The rest of the features like 2 speeds and the light are all very practical and well thought. I haven’t used the rest of the parts, but I am sure I would find them practical. Easy to clean and store, it is such a tool for me!
The battery life is a bit shorter than I would have wished, but overall I am very satisfied!

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI’ve used a Braun Epi Silk 5 and every time I found it painful and just could not complete the hair removal from the back of my legs despite trimming the hair down. I could bare the minor pain with other areas. did not matter what speed or head.
I read a number of reviews and took the plunge to try this (Panasonic’s) little number.
Charged the device up first and when it was complete I turned it on. Thought he’ll this is going to hurt as both speeds are faster than the Braun.
Well here goes nothing, I went over the areas that had previously been eplilated a week ago and it was very good. Now the back of the legs, there was some pain but it was bare able and I could finally get rid of the last area of hair from my legs.
I’ve used it on and around genitals, trick is to keep skin tight and go slowly. I suffered no pain or trapping the skin in the epilator.
On completion some nice post epilation cream and clean up.
Removed all hair from device with brush provided and detached epilation head and washed it. Allowed it to dry before applying a sterilisation spray.
I must say for the price the unit is well built, charges quickly, does what it says on the tin and thanks to your reviews I felt it was a good buy.
My only negative criticism is that it could do with a bag or case.

I love this epilator. It works really well both wet and dry. I prefer to use it dry with a bit of baby powder on the skin. I use it once a week to maintain a smooth finish. It’s great not having to leave the hair to grow like you need to for waxing.
The battery power is good and the low battery warning light comes on when it still has enough power to keep going for a little while, so you don’t end up with a job half done.
It’s not a pain free experience but in my opinion this doesn’t hurt as much as waxing.

This is a fantastic wee buy. But anyone thinking epilation is thee best way to remove those pesky hairs needs a therapist! By god the pain!!! However that’s not this particular epilators fault that’s just the process! The charge doesn’t last long so would take a full day to do both legs not very practical. So start on a Thursday if you have a Friday night out lol. But all the wee extras that come with this make it a star buy for me. I love the foot care head, that’s a great wee tool, and if I really HAVE to epilate then this is the tool. Has a handy wee light and it’s fast so literally grin and bear it for a few minutes. Never used the wet features as I never trust anything that says it can be used wet or dry… Will always end up rusting or packing in. Plus who has the time to stand under the shower to do all their bits?! Much easier to get it done prior or after. Good wee kit and would recommend even if the charge isn’t great.

I’ve never epilated before so was a bit wary but was pleasantly surprised. It had some charge when it arrived but I plugged it in and the charging light went off really quickly to tell me it was fully charged. I tried the epilator on my legs in the bath, using the gentle guard as it was my first time. Apart from a little stinging sensation it really wasn’t that painful. Perhaps more so on the less fleshy parts of my legs but still totally manageable. The light was really helpful for seeing any stray hairs I’d missed and I found it really easy to use and hold. My legs feel really smooth – wish I’d tried it sooner!

    Love, love, love this epilator.
I’ve had a couple over the years, I got this one to replace a broken one, and have been really impressed with it. The different accessory heads it came with have proved to be very useful- especially the pedicure setting that has smoothed my heels amazingly, getting rid of the cracks in my heels is a huge bonus on top of quick and efficient hair removal.
Charges quickly, good strong light on it, and great value.
    Very impressed.

I can’t believe I lasted so long without one. So easy to use and comfortable to hold. Flexible double blade head rolls just perfectly fit into my body shape, picking all unwanted hair without a miss. And I love that can be used with a bit of a soap or shower gel for even smoother and less painful hair removal.

This is honestly the best thing I have bought this year. I am late to the party – my friend had an epilator in the 80s and after trying it out on my toe hairs, I was sure I would never try one again. It was 35 years before I could muster the courage to revisit the world of epilators. I did a bit of research and ordered this panasonic one. First of all, it didn’t hurt like I remember. It is also effective – true, it doesn’t get rid of every single hair but it does a good job, although my leg hairs aren’t dark so maybe it’s less obvious if it misses some. It is indeed rechargeable and I am impressed at the battery life. I charged it for half a day and then used it for a few minutes every few days for almost 2 weeks before I had to recharge it. Finally, I am ADDICTED to the foot pumice head – seriously my feet have never looked better, even when I have used the Babyfoot peel. I have only tried the leg epilator and pumice heads, so can’t review the other ones. I’m sure I will get around to them in time. I haven’t tried using it wet. Recommended.

My last epilator was a Braun Silk Epil and I was perfectly happy with it until the charger stopped working. It had been a gift and when I looked into replacing it, I felt that given it hadn’t lasted that long (2 or 3 years max), it wasn’t worth the hefty price tag, so I researched cheaper options, and settled on this, despite it having mixed reviews.
The second I held it in my hand, the tactility of it felt infinitely superior to my last one, and I preferred the On/Off button as opposed to a dial. I used the “normal” setting on my legs and tried the “soft” setting on my bikini area and armpits and was so thrilled with it I almost wrote a review there and then, but thought I’d better wait a while to make sure it didn’t break after a day!! Well folks, it’s been a few months now and it’s still going strong so here’s my raving review. (Unfortunately I can’t review the Wet function as I’ve never actually tried that…I prefer to find a patch of sunlight to epilate as I find you can more easily see each and every hair).
Not only is this the best epilator I’ve ever had, it’s a bargain, so it gets full marks from me!!!

The best epilator I've ever had!!

This is my first time using a device like this but overall, after some practice, I get really nice silky smooth legs when epilating with this model, so thumbs up for that, but the rest of the package isn’t much good so I’d settle for the model with fewer frills if it’s cheaper (I got the pink ED-93 on sale for 50 — not sure how the newer model with the slim handle is.)

As an epilator — although I haven’t used one before — it seems to work quite well, although I found I got the best (and least painful!) results using it underwater in the bath. This also has the secondary benefit of silencing the rather loud, irritating mechanical whirring noises it normally makes.

It’s fairly easy to hold and charges up fairly quickly — only takes an hour or two from ‘flashing light low battery’ to full, and it lasts long enough for a full session. Mine came with a standard 3-pin UK plug to charge it (as opposed to the odd two-pin one you see on some toothbrushes and shavers), but just be aware that it *cannot* be used while plugged in, and the built in lithium battery will degrade over time – it should be fine for a good few years though, just plug it in after use and unplug it when you need it.

I wouldn’t bother with the gentle cap, as for me that just made it miss — or worse, break off — hairs and ironically hurt *more*, especially since it means you have to go over areas several times and even then not get a great finish. However, the normal cap (without the grid on it) does a great job, and using that on the slow setting helps to ease into epilating or for more sensitive areas. (I ended up preferring to just get it over with on the faster setting though.)

The small epilator head — which I think is the only major advantage of this one over the lower models — works decently for any little chin hairs that pop up and I’ve even used it (very carefully) around my eyebrows, but epilating your upper lip is NOT fun at all!

The foil shaver attachment is usable in a pinch and works OK on underarm hair, but it’s time consuming and awkward, doesn’t glide smoothly as the foil is inexplicably inset, and overall didn’t give a very close finish.

The pop up trimmer on the shaver head is unfortunately weak and wobbly, getting clogged up easily and not really doing a great job of cutting anything, and the plastic bikini comb is so flimsy as to be useless, often catching on hair. But as with the foil shaver, you can make it work in a pinch, just rinse it frequently and keep it well oiled.

On the other hand, at least the foot file attachment seems to work decently, but I wouldn’t pay extra to get it and don’t use it very much.

It comes with a neat little white fabric pull string bag to keep all the bits together, though it’s a bit bulky to carry all the attachments this model comes with.

Overall — as an epilator, I’m happy for the price I paid, though you might be able to get better results elsewhere. The fact it’s rechargeable and can be used wet is a *big* plus and I wouldn’t give that up for anything, but don’t bother with the extras, get a lower model if it’s appreciably cheaper.

Having spent a very very long time looking at which make of epilator to replace my extremely old Braun plug in epilator, I decided on this one. I’m so glad I did. Though I didn’t want a cordless epilator the battery lasts a long time on this. Easily does both whole legs and underarms with battery power still left. Have only used it dry as that is my preference so no idea how it works in the bath or the shower. The double pivotal head is absolutely brilliant and I find it very pain free and easy to use but have epilated for years so I am very used to it. I have also used it on my upper lip without any problem. The price was excellent and I’d have no hesitation in recommending this epilator.

The shaver attachment on the other hand I would only give 2*. It catches and pulls and is not very good at all. So if you don’t need th shaver part this is certainly an excellent epilator.

I’m so unsure with this, my legs don’t feel silky smooth they feel plucked and stubbly. I’ve followed all the guidance of the exfoliating first and then doing it but still feel stubbly. I’ve tried both wet and dry but I still don’t feel it’s brilliant. I was in too minds to send it back but it’s better than shaving! It misses baby/ fine hairs and can the guard can fly off

Arrived with instructions in every conceivable language, very clear and easy to understand. Able to keep the device and all attachments tidy in the little bag provided. I have to say, the first time I used it I experienced pain like no other, the thought of giving birth again seemed like a more agreeable option, however, I fought the urge to give up and I have to say was really pleased with the results and every time i have used since has been less painful! Also, in comparison with a razor, the need to use is far less and regrowth much softer.

This one is great as it has several different guards depending on what you need it for. However I found its more effective with no guard at all. Easy to use, easy to clean, but the battery isn’t that great. I can get through one leg and half of the other before I need to charge it again so quite practical.

  23. RefugioX71 says:

Multiple heads are very handy, the bikini one is rather useless, it probably plucks 2-3 hairs in one go max, so it would take forever to do a tiny area.
The best of all is the foot file attachment. The epilator head is good, I used it with some shower gel, worked well and not painful at all. The shaver head is underwhelming, could’ve done with a trimmer head instead.

I have been using epilators for years and this is the best I’ve ever used.
This epilator can be used effectively wet or dry. I have found it faster and more efficient than my previous models and I like the pivoting head. I found it good for underarms – the head worked with the curves of the underarms, but I would suggest using the soft option of speed! The soft option is a good option if you are new to epilating. The shaver is okay, however I did not buy the product for the shaver. As a cordless model there was more than enough power to do both legs, arms and underarms, I am interested to see if it will remain this efficient thoughout the models lifespan. The manual suggests that it has a lifespan of 3years It is certainly a product I would recommend

My epilator arrived on thursday and I couldn’t wait to get it out of the packaging, charged up and have a go. As a first time user I was apprehensive and although it hurt (and I used in the bath) it was strangely satisfying to know the hairs were being plucked right out. Great results on my forearms and legs so far. Feel I need a bit of courage to do my armpits but they’re next on my to do list when they’ve grown to the right length. All in all very happy with my purchase would definitely recommend.

This is my 3rd epilator and I have had it for a few months. I have been using epilators on/off for 20years. I found my old phillips corded epilator during the 1st lockdown and started using it again. I have only ever used epilators for the legs as I found them too painful to use on the underarms. The Phillips epilator still works well but I thought I would buy a newer cordless epilator that I might be able to use in the warmth of the shower as the weather became cooler. Also hoped that a newer epilator might be faster. This Panasonic epilator is AMAZING! It is compact and easy to hold. It glides over the skin without tugging/scratching/bruising. It glides over knees with the smooth pivoting head. Easy to use wet/dry. And, after all these years, I am finally able to epilate my underarms in the shower. So easy to use and shower gel foams up like a shaving gel. The other attachments are also excellent for shaving and removing hard skin from the feet. Very easy to clean. I will continue to use this even when we are out of lockdown.
My 2nd epilator was a braun silk epil wet/dry contraption which I bought 5 years ago. I persevered with it for a month and then had to throw it in the bin. Very scratchy and it kept cutting/bruising me. It didn’t glide over the skin despite having a pivoting head. And it was too painful to epilate underarms. It put me off epilating for a few years. Until now…

This is my second epilator, having previously had a Braun. I’m really happy with this one due to the flexible head and multiple tweezers. I managed to do both full legs on one battery charge. The light makes it easy to see small hairs which may otherwise get missed. This epilator is superior to Braun in my opinion and I’d definitely recommend it. The only negative if I’m being very picky is that the storage bag appears cheap and probably won’t last long before it rips.

I never leave reviews but for this epilator I just had too. I’ve epilated for 15 years so I’m very used to them, but mine broke so I got this one in the Black Friday sale. It’s very easy to hold and can be charged and used wireless. I’ve only used it dry I’ve no need to make it wet. I would say it’s even less painful than my last epilator, not that the pain is bad it’s just a little sting that lasts for a few seconds. I’ve used it on my legs ,under arms and bikini line. I’m impressed so to the lest .
If your thinking of buying this product then you do not need to look any further.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic purchase I’m Very Impressed

Best epilator. I had previously owned a Panasonic and find the motor lasts approx. 2 years and bought another brand – big mistake. Glad to be back to Panasonic. Very good epilator for my fine fair hairs. I use in Bath – it is a bit slippery to hold (only negative). Highly recommended!

The package is very organised. All 6 headsets are quite useful but a few of them are not. The armpit headset was not that good for me – I don’t know is it because the way my hair grows or what. It didn’t pull out the hair as I thought, even when I used it wet (with shower gel). However, the leg headset is better used wet than normal since it doesn’t scratch your skin as much. Foot one is okay as well.

Overall is good but not impressed with the armpit headse

I bought this 4 months ago and I used several times since then. Before this one I was using Braun. It was really old, working well but the epilator head of it was so small, to finish the epilating was taking ages. Was wired, etc. As I never bought or used Panasonic, I was worried but it’s working perfectly. Easy to use in the shower. I’ve charged it before going to a trip, I used it there and bring back with me without the chargers. I’m both happy to use the shaving head or the epilator head as I have a sensitive skin, no issues

I don’t usually write reviews but this product is absolutely amazing. Love the light to help as I have a sight impediment. It really does remove all the hairs and keeps them away much better than the razor. For anyone like me that suffers with ingrown hairs, this is a must & has helped hugely. It takes longer than the razor to shave & once you get over the initial pain, you will be delighted with the results. So happy to have purchased this product as I was a bit skeptical of purchasing.

Definitely a case of ‘two heads are better than one’! This epilator takes care of fine hairs and truly leaves a smooth result behind. It’s great on legs but a little fiddly for armpits. I’m so pleased – after using a different well known brand for years with more bells and whistles (all unused), I was unhappy when within 2yrs it had already been returned once for a non-working shaver head and then started getting a very noisy epilator, I decided to slim down to this product – a third of the price and a MUCH better product!

Had for a couple of weeks now and used it about 3 times now ,I’ll admit the first use was horrendous (I used it dry ) ran a hot bath and it was so much better when wet,I also put a little shower gel on the head waited for it to go soapy and really found it more comfortable to use this way, so much so I removed the guards and felt it was much easier to use .
Really smooth legs and underarms and lasts around 2/3 weeks .
I’ve had to use it 3 times in the same amount of weeks only to go over parts that I missed.
I usually go for waxing but in this current time that isint an option and would so recommend this as an alternative, not sure that I will pay for waxing again .

This is by far the best thing to use if you can’t stand the razors. I never tried any electrical shaver and the first time was long and painful, but now, 5 day with minimum hair, I’ve used it again and God, how stupid I was for not using it sooner. As for the machine, it does the job. I’ve never used any other brand, so this is ok for me. It won’t take hairs from the first run but the second time it’ll take you about 5-10 min to freshen up. I am obsessed with it.

Bought this after my previous epilator broke. I’ve been epilating for several years and think it’s the best thing ever so was gutted when my last one broke after several years of use. This is the first time I’ve used this brand or one with two heads and it barely hurts. Normally I would avoid it at that special time of the month but decided to try it out and I barely felt it. Took 2 seconds to do my under arms which didn’t hurt like usual and it got every hair so I didn’t have to go back over it with a pair of tweezers. It’s well worth the money easy to use and not as painful as other epilators.
    Highly recommend

Amazing. I like everything and I use it everywhere. It’s my first one as I have always used wax before so I can’t compare with others but comparing with other systems this is by far the best one. Some areas are more painful than others but as you can take it in the shower with soap it reduces the discomfort. As I am use to wax with this machine I don’t even get red marks I can easily use it and go swimming! The result doesn’t last the how many whatever weeks it says though but as you keep using it it’s only few hairs every time and you can do it as easy as wash your face whenever those hairs start bothering you. I really love it. As a plus, impecable Amazon delivery and great price…I can’t compliment it enough.

I had Phillips epilator before and even though it was leaving my legs after epilating with red spots my reg-rowed hair seemed softer, whilst with this Panasonic one my hair grows quicker and it seems less soft, but I absolutely love that I can use it whilst in the bath, once charges it lasts for a very long time. It’s much quieter than ones I’ve used before and the rotating head makes epilating much easier.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI usually am a water but since lockdown the hair is out of control. I didn’t want to shave because the hair come bad thick, fast and itchy. I react to hair removal creams my waxing lady suggested an epilator. Now I had an epilator when I was about 14 was so painful it never got used but I got desperate saw this one for 30 thought it’s less than my waxing costs I’ll give it a go.
WELL I am so very glad I did the results are good I even use on my underarms. Now I will say it does take a while to do it and the battery only lasts Approximately 30minutes Each charge but in lockdown I’ve had time to kill so really no stress. After the lockdown I lifted I will return to waxing but I continue to use the epilator on my underarms as it’s removed the dark shadowing that shaving leaves.
There are 2 changeable heads and comes with a travel bag I also took out the 3 year cover for 5 so 35/45 pound for at least 3 years of underarm shaving well worth it.

Also recommend epilating wet instead of dry as it hurts a lot less and the warm water opens your pours more giving you a better finish.
Use a dry skin brush Or exfoliating sponge in between epilating to Prevent ingrown hairs.

    Hope this helps somebody.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI usually have hot wax, got this as alternative during lockdown. Takes a good few tries on legs and underarms before before being able to use once a fortnight on legs and once weekly on underarms. First use in shower with shower cream, soft setting and soft guard for legs and didn’t have that great results. ‘Pain’ just like a wax so now use on dry skin, normal setting and no soft guard and get much better results. The underarm attachment could be a bit wider to catch more hair but great kit for reasonable price and definitely better than a razor! Would recommend using body scrub regularly to rid of dead skin and apply daily moisturizer to avoid ingrowing hair.

I used to epilate when I was young but haven’t had the time to do so for years. No time is no excuse at the moment though, so I decided to get back into it for summer. As anyone who has epilated before knows, the first few initial goes over any area are extremely painful, so I was not looking forward to that part at all. However, the two rotating heads made the experience pretty quick, and being able to use it in the bath is a massive bonus. If you put some shower gel on the head and do it in sections it’s as close to painless as you’re going to get for an epilator. Now the first few times are done I go over quickly once or twice a week and it’s genuinely almost pain free. Much cheaper than the Braun epilator I had previously, and so much more painless and more effective. The only thing it could have done with is one of those massaging attachments which I find also improve the pain, but for the price it’s really excellent. I didn’t buy the extra attachments, but have managed to do my bikini area, underarms, and upper lip without much difficulty at all. Would highly recommend this item.

Very happy with the purchase of this product. Arrived earlier than expected which was great. As a user for the 1st time I have to say it was a bit painful on the first use but after that it got easier an less painful (a bit of rum helped the 1st time ). Overall I am very happy with this product and would recommend it.

Golden Review Award: 36 From Our UsersI was suffering really badly with shaving rash, due to COVID19 obviously unable to go to a salon to try waxing and with a limited budget I decided to give epilation a try and I was not disappointed. I placed the device on charge, took some painkillers 1 hour prior, ran a lovely warm bath by the time I was ready to get in the device was ready to go and so was I. I exfoliated the areas I wanted to remove hair and then put a layer of shower gel on. I then started mid way up my calf on soft setting to ease myself in. Once I got going I slowly started to move it across my leg as i would shaving but slightly slower to try get all the hair. I also used on my sensitive areas then when i was finished i moisturized. I did recieve some swelling but by morning it was completely gone and I was smooth as the day I was born!!… I read that you may need to initially do 2-3 times in the first week then all hair will have been caught and it will start to last a lot longer. I moisturize every day and I honestly am so happy I purchased highly recommend!

I was hesitant to buy this product as I had heard that Epilators not only hurt but aren’t that good. I bought this on a whim and am so glad that I did! You can take it in the shower which helps slightly with the pulling sensation. It’s 2 weeks on and my leg hair is only just starting to grow back!

Golden Review Award: 13 From Our UsersThis is my first epilator and was quite scared about the possible pain, however I recommend this to anyone like me who is already used to waxing, so the pain was bearable actually. It was easy to glide across the legs and arms and came with shaver attachments too as well as different settings to switch between gentle or normal epilation. I received excellent hair removal results the first time and I am not reverting back to waxing. It is worth the pain as you then get used to it after continuous use. Only slight note to point out is that there’s always the odd few hairs that don’t seem to get picked up immediately and you have to run through them again, but it’s overall worth the price and quality.

I’ve put off purchasing an epilator for years as I’d assumed they were more an instrument of torture than a beauty aid. However, Covid19 lockdown and the fear of looking like a Wookie by the end of it made me take the plunge.

The Panasonic ES-ED53 is excellent value for money and works a treat! I started on the soft setting and apart from a tiny bit of discomfort that was neither stinging nor pinching and yet a bit like both, it was more than bearable. If you’ve ever waxed then this certainly won’t seem any worse and my skin was left smooth and hair free.

I’ve tried it on legs and bikini area so far and am very pleased with result.

I’ve only had it on dry setting and use it after a shower. I’ll probably give it a go on wet setting at some point but very happy with it so far.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersI’m super sad. I really love this but this random little silver thing fell out of the epilator whilst I was in the bath. It wasn’t submerged in water I was epilating my legs out of the water. It still Works at the moment but I don’t think things should be falling out of it? Is there a warranty on this? I’ve only had it since December!

4.0 out of 5 stars Great but no idea what’s happened to mine...

I think this will revolutionise my life. I was an epilator virgin and after contemplating it for a year, Black Friday sale made me take the plunge. And I love it. It hurt bad the first time (shins, ankles and underarms felt more like tazer than epilate) but with perseverance and wine, I am converted and now I can do it without wine or painkillers and really it doesn’t hurt (much!) and it’s more economical than waxing (although I will still leave the full Hollywood to the professionals). If your considering it. Just buy one. X

Golden Review Award: 10 From Our UsersI purchased the item and then i started to read the reviews, wrong thing to do and then I started to panic as is not that cheap..
I decided to cancel the order, but FORTUNATELY they had already prepared and shipped the order !
I was and I am still scared that after a month or 2 it will not work anymore but I will buy this item again if needed!
I am a really hairy person, thick and black! I am trying to get rid of my hair for the last 10 year! I even bought an IPL but I don’t think it’s working.. as you all know to use the IPL you have to shave and my hair got thicker..I was scared of the pain I had to go through! But hey compered to my previous gadget it doesn’t hurt at all! With a bit of battery the item had and one hour of charge I was able to do all my legs, bikini line and my arms ! When I used to wax or epilate my self I used to get those red bumps in all my legs that even if I was hair free I was Ashamed to put a shorts or a skirt on! It got rid of all my hair with a really tiny bit of red bumps, I am as smooth as silk and Yes I am wearing shorts!!
I cannot describe how happy I am!
As for the wet part I didn’t even tried at the moment I will update when I do!
    Thanks amazon!

If you want to ditch the background story then skip to the next paragraph. Getting little bit into why i decided to go for this product: I’ve had 4 of Braun’s best (LOL don’t know about best, maybe i should say most expensive) epilators and one from Philips (very expensive as well), and they all broke down within a few months of having them. Braun is such a rip-off please don’t spend your money on them. As for the products i just mentioned^ NONE of them were bought off amazon so they weren’t fakes or anything. They were legit products that just didn’t perform.

Now, I decided to buy this epilator on amazon ONLY because I didn’t have another choice. Would have tried to get one in-store otherwise.

    About this product:
I have prime so it arrived ASAP. Came properly packaged with all the parts which was very reassuring for an online purchase (yes, if you didn’t read the para above- I’m sceptical about buying stuff on Amazon). After using the product, I can confidently say that this has been the best epilator I’ve used. I haven’t used the ‘wet’ part yet (says that soap can be added to foam and make it easier to epilate, but using it dry doesn’t cause me discomfort).
I mentioned my prev Braun and Philips breaking down even after they worked alright for the first few months so I will come back to this in a few months to update. I just have to say that this is BY FAR the cheapest (by a HUGE margin) epilator I’ve bought and I’m not yet disappointed.

PS: So in the picture I uploaded, the epilator is connected to the charging plug but when you’re using it, it’s to be used cordless so that’s brilliant along with the light that they have on it.
Also, this epilator makes less noise than anything I’ve had in the past!

    Edit:

PPS: I’m here after over a year of using this product and travelling with it- it’s honestly been a great purchase. I have accidentally dropped this epilator a couple of times and it has not broken (unlike my previous ones) and functioning perfectly well, so REALLY HAPPY!

PPPS: After 2+yrs of using it, it’s still in perfect condition. I have since used the ‘wet’ function and that works well too! What a purchase!

BEST EPILATOR I've used (yes, i've had the most expensive of braun and philips)

Previously used Braun silk7 for the last 3 yrs- had 3! They broke down and stopped working after about a yr each one like clockwork.
This epilator is good- better results dry than wet I find but useful it’s cordless and in the shower (braun wasn’t)
I would have to say I think braun got more of the teeny tiny hairs and better result but this is more versatile and can easier for travel/showe

I bought this as replacement for my corded Braun. It’s more practical to use a cordless one as I can just use it as is without dragging a pesky cable to the bathroom. I find it easy to use. It’s easy to clean as well. I’m not new to epilating so I can say that this is less painful that my old epil. It also has LED light and it comes with more useful heads. I can use the narrow head for my face. This is perfect for summer especially when you’re in a rush and need to go out and wear that leg-flaunting mini dress. Comparing it with my old one which has more unuseful heads and overpirce, I would say this one is better. Great customer service as well.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersAbsolutely love this epilator, does exactly what it says on the tin!
I recently bought a cheaper one and have had to return as it stopped working in less than a month of having it and only using it 3 times.
This gets even the smallest hairs, yes it’s quite painful to start with but every time you use it the pain decreases, so it’s not so bad, I actually quite like it as I know if there’s a wee bit of pain then I’m getting hairs!
I can’t recommend this enough and definitely worth spending the extra money to get a quality product. I used to shave every 2-3 days, however had stubbly legs the day after shaving, this hasn’t happened with the epilator, my legs have never been so smooth, just wish I’d persevered a long time ago!

his is my fourth epilator I’ve tried over the years – the other 3 seemed to lose their ability to pick up hairs well after 18+months.
Really like the 2 roller heads as it means there are lots of tweezers to get max. hair removal, and also contours to your body much better than just a single roller. I find this especially useful over the knees which I have always struggled with getting all the hairs.
I have tried the normal head attachment on legs, arms, underarms, face and bikini line and works well on all of them. I didn’t find the need for any additional attachments and the specific face/bikini heads are just too small an area so not really needed.
I’ve only used it for a few weeks, but so far so good.

Golden Review Award: 12 From Our UsersWOW!! I bought this as a replacement for my old one that finally died after a few years, I’m so glad I did because it’s amazing. The epilator head itself has two rows of tweezers and a pivoting head (for the knees) which is the main reason I got it. This works well as it removes most of the hairs in one sweep, unlike my old one which took several attempts.
That alone makes it worth the money but I’m so happy with the foot attachment. I’ve tried a few foot gadgets to remove hard skin but nothing was worth shouting about, this thing however is. As this came fully charged on arrival I had to have a play, and it is incredible. One use and it quickly removed all the hard skin leaving me with baby soft feet. I’d but this again for that alone.
The shaver attachment is like any other, never really been my thing so I don’t use it personally, however I did use it on my husband’s hairy back and it did a good job, so he’s happy.
I definitely recommend buying this if you’re looking for a new one or if it’s your first as it won’t let you down. I’ve used epilators for years and I didn’t feel any pain at all with this, but I’m not a delicate flower so apologies if any first timers have a different experience.
Wondering what the extra two attachments would be like now!

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our Usersi charge this epilator every once a week if not every 2 or 3 weeks, its easy to use and clean, loved using foam on it , the foot file leaves my feet smooth and soft. The shaver head is currently not working at all so i have stopped using that which is unfortunate because i shorten the hair before i epilate and the mini epilator head for sensitive areas only takes of 1 or 2 strands of hair which isn’t what i was hoping for overall i do like using it but it also catches onto my skin which is annoying and i turn it off and turn it back on.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersA couple of years ago I used a friends epilator and I couldnt stand the pain. It felt as though my skin was being ripped off but after spending a fortune on waxing I wanted to give epilating another try. This is the only device I have ever owned so i have no comparison but compared with my friends horrific epiltor it is a total breeze.

I first tried this on my legs and although I had to take a few deep breaths before I placed it on my skin I can honestly say, there was no need to be nervous as the plucking sensation was surprisingly manageable.
I found it easy to use and although you can feel the hairs being plucked it’s very manageable. A little less painful than waxing, I’d say.
I got on so well with this epilator that I ended up using it all over my body within the first day (arms, bikini and legs). Love it! The first ish is as good as a salon wax. No going back for me and I would recommend this product to anyone that wishes to keep hair at bay for longer than shaving allows and without the mess and recurring costs of waxing.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersIts the best all rounder epilator. I used to have the braun silk epilator which lasted about 12 years but battery wasn’t recharging and decided to try a different brand. After reading numerous reviews I went for the panasonic brand. So glad I did. Excellent value for money. Works like a dream far superior to the one I used before. It has loads of different attachments. Cannot fault it and results are superb. Will never wax again. The wet function is genius. Using a little drop of shower gel on the epilator head keeps your skin smooth and soft. I’m a seasoned epilator user so it doesn’t hurt at all. Pulls all the hairs out and leaves skin hair free.. it’s one of the best buys I have made… highly recommend.

I love it except for the fact that the bikini epilator head is properly useless! It’s a shame considering that is the main reason I bought it. However, its so good otherwise that Im still giving it 4 stars, I’ve managed to persevere and just use the main epilating head all over, ouch! It’s painful of course but it gets the job done very quickly. I think the fact it can be used wet with soap is very helpful and reduces the pain. Its actually pretty comfortable to use and very easy for the legs.

Golden Review Award: 16 From Our UsersDid my research into Epilators- so much choice and variety, with not much to distinguish different models in between aside from the number of accessories. Settled on this one as it was within budget and had all the attachments I could ever want and reviews suggesting its worth twice the price.

Charge time is around an hour and that gets me 30 minutes of continuous use- charged using standard mains. Can’t use during charging though. During use, the last couple of minutes it starts to lose speed, and a red light will blink on the handle to let you know it needs charging. Not really used the slow mode, but there’s a fast a slow mode that you click through by pressing the on button (little light shows you which one you’re in). Slow is less painful.
It works well in both wet and dry, depending on what foam you use, it may feel less smooth on the wet setting. Being waterproof its easy to clean.

Lots of different attachments as well so you can do quite a bit with it. Build quality is solid and some attachments come with a plastic casing to protect them. The instruction manual is a bit of a beast- lots of languages in there.

In terms of pain- the longer the hair, the more painful the extraction, so if you’re looking to use it on really long hairs, consider trimming the hair first. First time use is going to be painful but you very rapidly get used to it- start small and simple and build up. If you do capture skin or fabric, it has a safety stop feature. Ingrown hairs may happen, advice is to exfoliate the area (not directly after epilation though!) regularly.

Golden Review Award: 206 From Our UsersI have been using epilators since they came out in the 80’s.So I would say this is a review for more seasoned users like myself. This is my 5th epilator.

I think the first thing I liked from the reviews was that you could do underarms and bikini. Silk-Epil have always taken big ‘nicks’ of skin out of my underarms & bikini area. So I have shaved my underarms and epilated the top area of my bikini area & got the rest waxed.

Wow, not only was I able to do my underarms successfully and without injury, I am able to do a full Hollywood. In terms of pain, as an experiencer epilator I don’t have any at all. I am so used to it after 30 years, it doesn’t register. I think seasoned users would probably agree with me on that too. If you have only been using for a few years proceed with caution and I wouldn’t recommend an inexperienced user to epilate ‘down there’.

I don’t think I would buy Silk-Epil again, this is by far a more superior machine. I prefer to whizz over legs, armpits and bikini area for 5 minutes everyday, than wait for regrowth. This way I am hairfree everyday.

In terms of price, Panasonic win hands down. The newest Silk-Epils are going for in excess of 100.

I absolutely love it. The first use was slightly painful, but the by the third use it is not uncomfortable at all and my legs stayed smooth throughout my holiday. I also had no irritation even the first time and the epilator head doesn’t pinch or scratch the skin (even on the jiggly parts ). The shaver head is a great bonus feature until I get up the courage to epilator my underarms. I also did a huge expanse of my husband’s back with super results (though of course he found it more painful). I should add that I have only used it on dry skin, though I cleaned the head under running water, and I did get the epilator when it was on sale. Highly recommended.

I have dark thick hair and was sick of shaving and it growing back within hours. so someone recommended getting an epilator. so I am newbie. I have just used it in the bath with shower gel. There is no getting away from the fact it really really HURTS . I hate to think what it’s like doing it dry. but after the initial pain it feels fine. hopefully I will be hair free for a few days at least. I’ll come back and update as for the product it was delivered fast. the instruction could’ve been clearer but it isn’t rocket science. It charges quick and it lasted while I done the bottom half of my legs and armpits. I couldn’t face doing anymore than that lol
