If I have to do without a corded phone then this will do nicely. As with other Panasonic equipment I have owned this comes up to its normal good standard.
I bought these for my mum’s Christmas present and they are extremely easy to use and work a treat. Only downside is you can’t put different ringtones for different people.
These were very good price, and replacements for two now rather old Panasonic phones that had given no trouble until recent weeks, when we started to get quite a lot of distortion on the sound. So having excellent Panasonic experience decided to replace with similar. I am sure they will be as good as the earlier ones, and knowing which button is which on the Panasonic models, helps very much with initial set up.
Arrived early and well packaged. Easy to set up and run. I couldn’t believe it when I entered all my phone numbers into the phonebook and the otther two handsets had the same entries immediately. The only minor problem is it does not have a good range. Phone disconnects over 20 metres from base. Otherwise good phone set. Only waiting for someone to phone me when I’m not in so I can check answer machine. A very good purchase.
I found this phone easy to set up, and a very reasonable price, the volume, on high, is nice and loud. If you just want a basic phone, with no bells or whistles, then this is ideal.
Easy to set up and bring on line, would have been 5 stars but Panasonic have changed the phone book storage location. It is now in the base unit and not the individual hand sets. If, like me, you want to download your phone book from an older Panasonic DECT phone, forget it. You have to sit down and hand crank all your phone book numbers into your new phone.
I needed a new landline phone to replace older and clunkier model. I am very pleased with this phone, so easy to install and set up with clear instructions. All features I needed + extra to instantly block unwanted calls. Also works on the mains, many these days are only battery operated.
Very similar to my last phone, it is the same make. Don’t know yet if it will still work when we go digital but said it would with an extra cable.
Works fine. Nothing flashy. Has intercom so good across floors. Playing all calls can only be done from the handset. Can’t plug in a headset. Good for houses with poor mobile signal.
We’ve had a Trio set of Panasonic ‘phones for more than 20 years, but recently they’ve been getting increasingly problematic (one handset discharges its batteries – even *new* rechargeables) in about 20 mins of talk-time, for example). So decided to replace them, even if most calls now are via mobiles, and opted to stay with Panasonic as the previous set has been durable.
PROS
* Does what it says on the box – allows you to make / receive calls.
* Handsets follow a familiar styling such that anyone using older Panasonic handset should find them familiar.
* Speakerphone, intercom and call another handset functions (the latter handy if a handset is put down somewhere rather than returned to its stand).
* Reasonable call quality sound.
* Ability to record own outgoing message on answer system.
CONS
* No choice of ring tone by handset.
* Manual not the clearest in places.
* Finicky in set-up – “hashcodes” (e.g. “#101” or “#302”, etc.) are required in order to carry out some set-up operations, so you need to keep the manual around if you want to change things for whatever reason).
* Handset screen very dark when resting in cradles (obviously illuminate when in use, but does make it hard when using the to check the time as a simple desktop clock, as I used to with the older set).
CONCLUSIONS
The “cons” above are not enough to make this set unusable; they are just niggling irritations. As a low-cost replacement, they do the job for us when home handsets are required & will hopefully prove as durable as the old units. Assuming we’re even using a landline after 2025!
Perfect for the job I needed. Just needed a house phone incase of emergencies, as use my mobile phone more. Don’t use regularly, but charges fast & ringtone is okay volume. Only thing is calls can be a bit quiet & I definitely know I’m not hard of hearing.
Just plug it in and power up in a matter of seconds
Was easy to set up seems to do what it’s supposed to . Very compact phone which I like .
It was a nice looking set of phones however, they would not work on my fibre optic land line and so they were returned to Amazon.
Delighted with phone nice and easy to set up and use
I was replacing my very old Panasonic phone set with the nearest thing I could find, and this is quite good. The handset is difficult to use in low lighting conditions, as it is not backlit like the previous model I owned, and the characters are not easy to read as everything is on black and does not light up. Just finding the button to answer the phone in the dark is difficult. Otherwise it does the job. 2 phones and an answering machine for a good price. The display screen is easy to read, just can’t find the buttons unless it is full daylight.
Ths sound quality isn’t chrystal clear but that might be an issue with rural area phone line its hard to say.
In some ways it’s easy to set up for the instructions in the box were a bit opaque so I was mostly relying on common sense. There is an answer machine on the main phone but no apparent way to set ones own answer message. The main set and subsidary handset are small and neat if space is an issue
Bought these to replace a previous panasonic set which lasted a good few years. They don’t seem as robust, more light weight, slightly different button layout but so far they do the job. You can buy cheaper but panasonic is my preferred choice.
Nothing to dislike about this product. Both phones work very well and was very easy to set up. Panasonic is a very trusted make.
Sound quality ok but would like ring tones and audio louder ( maybe an age thing)
The sound quality is not the best but for the price it’s ok!
Bought for my Mum and this is just a replacement for a previous very old Panasonic which had a failing battery. This was easy to set up and we have only had one crackly call – probably due to the Weather. Great buy and very pleased with it.
Only had this a week. Easy to set up . Find the qnswer machine poor quality not good sound and also phone doesn’t fit easily on the stand but since I don’t use it often it will suffice
Value for money looks okay works ok I wanted nothing more
Easy to set up, description looked as if one could allocate tones to callers as older Panasonic phone could, but no.
