I bought this for my dad to replace an old model. He is very please with it and thinks it gives a great shave. It’s also easy to clean as it can be rinsed under the tap

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersBought this to replace a brand new Braun which I had to return to Amazon as it gave a very poor shave. The Philips is far superior giving a lovely close shave without any real effort. The only downside was the very poor instructions which were all in difficult to read picture form without any explanations.

Head shape seems a bit odd when first looking at, but it works. By holding sidewise under the nose it gets fully into the area. Is much quieter than my old Philips and seems to cut finer/better.

Very happy with the shaver, disappointed that it appeared to be a returned item as the packaged had been opened and not packed properly but did not appear to be used, so decided to keep item.

I like the fact that it is so quiet compared to my previous shaver. I like that it shaves very close. It is good in all aspects. When you first switch it on you think that there isn’t much charge but there is ample as the lights show. All in all a very good clean shaver and would recommend this shaver.

I hadn’t realised how poor my last electric shaver was until I bought this. Easy to use and clean and gives a really smppnh shave. Very pleased, would highly recommend.

Amazing shaver, have used both wet and dry and have experienced no skin irritation.
Closer shave when used with shaving gel, and shaver is easily cleaned under running water.
Great build quality & impressive battery life, fantastic shaver.

It is ok, I find have to run over face many times to get a close shave and it feels underpowered and flimsy unlike their previous series 5 models. I will see how lasts long term, battery ok as lasts a good week before a charge required for daily use.

This shaver was comfortable to use and easy to clean. It has a good battery life. The only negative is just how large it is. I certainly won’t be taking it away on trips, so I still need a smaller travel shaver.

Bought this to replace my old faithful Philishave, which I have had for 11 years. It performs exactly as it should, and is certainly an improvement. Nice close shave, easy to use, and much improved battery life ( although to be fair, my old batteries must be pretty worn out )

Having owned previous Philips shavers, this one definitely had the closest and best shave without any cuts/irritation. Battery charge is quick and lasts a good week with a standard one-a-day shave.

Bigger more flexible head compared to my previous Philisave shavers. I have dark stubble and it does the job. Gives a smooth comfortable shave. Disappointed that they don’t supply a pouch or case for it.

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersThis is a great shaver.
Have always found Phillips to be the best electric shavers, and this one is better than previous ones I’ve had.
My shaving is mixed. I’m a mature guy with a tough beard. I sometimes use well known (beginning with a “G”) multi blade razors, but really like to use a double edged proper razor blade for a satisfying close shave. But for many years now I have also used a rotary head electric shaver for speed if I feel lazy.
However rotary shavers don’t cut very close. But this one does, and it does it very well.
It’s quick to charge easy to hold and shaves very close-very quickly. I’m very impressed indeed.
If you’re looking to buy or replace an existing shaver I’m sure you won’t be disappointed with this.
    It’s very, very good.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersI thought it poor that no charger was included, just a Cale that didn’t fit any of the 2 previous Philips Shavers that I had purchased, especially as the last one was the previous model??

Golden Review Award: 12 From Our UsersIm a trans woman I currently am not on hormones so I have to shave everything every day and I’m honestly surprised at how well it’s held up and how well I’ve held up I have very sensitive skin and if I shaved my legs it was itchy he’ll but not here the only 2 points of caution is if you drop it and the spiny heads come off there a bit of a pain to put back in and if you have any of that very soft scar tissue or big ripply stretch marks then don’t shave it as it will catch but apart from that it good the battery hasn’t been an issue I think I get a week maybe a week and a half oh and charge it at night because it’s slow as hell. Hope this helps as I know it’s a nightmare looking for a shaver as a trans girl. Lots of love and kisses bea.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very good for full body shave every day

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI was a bit skeptical about spending this amount of money on a razor but it’s money well spent. My previous razor broke so I ordered a quick cheaper razor for around 24.00,it’s rubbish scrapes your face and painfully to use. The time has come to buy a more expensive one so having Phillips razors before I went for this one.
It’s fantastic very smooth shave no scraping and leaves a much better and smoother skin. We’ll impressed and definitely recommend to any one wanting a great razor. Like shoes you pay for what you get !!!!.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersIt’s weird that when fully charged it sounds like it’s about to die of low battery how slow it goes but it gave a near perfect shave. Best electric shaver I’ve ever used. Although bc it’s not very fast the added trimmer isn’t very good or at least it wouldn’t cut my longer stubble very well . Overall tho bc such a good shave it’s 4/5!

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersWhile this doesn’t blow away my old 30 shaver (which I dropped and it and broke very easily), it feels a lot more substantial and does a good job on a daily basis. Gets into the nooks and crannies, but I have to use a normal razor to get a sharp line on my sideburns – the flip out trimmer is not much use so one star dropped for that. Happy with it though and it’s really easy to clean compared to my old cheapo razor.

With foil shavers there are at least two good brands to choose from. Not so with rotary shavers where Philips out-perform all others hands down. Don’t be fooled by the marketing blurb or reviews of lesser brands because I’ve yet to find one that comes close to a Philips. In terms of precision rotary blade technology, Philips leads the pack.
This 5000 series is definitely a step up from the 1000/3000 series that I’ve had previously. I get a smooth and comfortable shave, comparable in closeness to a decent foil shaver – all for an offer price of less than 80! All in all, very pleased.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersI thought at just over a hundred quid was a lot to spend on an electric razor but so glad I did. Cheaper razors can give you a rash and leave stubble but this one is amazing and gives you a clean shave and baby soft skin after.
I would have given it 5 stars if it came with a UK 2 pin to 3 pin plug but I had to buy this separately and was less than a fiver.
What are you waiting for, stop thinking it’s too much money and buy one!! You won’t be disappointed.

It’s ok if you just want to take the ruff off or just want to keep it your car for a quick shave. It’s nowhere near as close a shave as a normal razor and i really have to press it hard into the skin to completely get all the ruff hair off but i only bought for when I am away or run out of normal razors. very good battery life and not too hard to clean.

I was fed up with having to pay 25 every three months to replace the head on my Braun shaver, so looked for a change. A friend recommended this Philips shaver, so I thought I’d give it a go.
My first impression was that I’d made the wrong choice, as it was very quiet which makes it sound very slow, and had visions of having to return it. I was pleasantly surprised. It works very well and gives a good close shave. I just hope I don’t have to replace the cutters too often.
