BrushSync replacement reminder

All brush heads wear out over time. But our BrushSync technology tracks how long you’ve been using your brush head for, and how hard you’ve been brushing. When it’s time to replace it, a light on your handle and a short beep will let you know. That way, you can be sure your brush head is doing a good job.

Ease into your new routine

Starting something new can take some getting used to. Our easy-start programme gives you the option of a gradual, gentle increase in brushing power with the first 14 uses with your new toothbrush.

Helpful timers

Need an electric toothbrush with a timer? Our QuadPacer lets you know when you’ve spent just the right amount of time cleaning each part of your mouth, while our SmarTimer tells you when you’ve brushed for the recommended two minutes.

Bought this as recommended by my dentist. It’s powerful and takes some getting used to. I’ve had this for a few months and still haven’t had to charge it yet, mad!

I decided to buy the Philips Sonicare electric toothbrush following several cheap ones which failed after little use. It’s a brilliant toothbrush and so easy to use. The sonicare brush heads are expensive so I bought cheaper compatible ones on Amazon and they are equally as good. With a 3 year guarantee I now feel I have an electric toothbrush which will last. Highly recommended.

Best electric toothbrush I’ve purchased, small( not round)but well formed brush, easy to use and charge lasting well. It also has a 2 minute timer for brushing and automatically shuts down. So far can’t fault i

I have used Sonicare Electric Toothbrushes for many years. They don’t last forever, so I like to have a spare when I see at a good price. One I bought was pretty useless as the speed seemed really slow. This one however is really good & I have been using it for the past 2 weeks 2 or 3 times per day & haven’t had to charge it up once. I used out of the box so must have been fully charged on arrival. Sonicare are efficient, effective & I wouldn’t be without one. If you’re away 1 or 2 weeks, you don’t even need to pack the charger if charged up before you go. I love the colour of this one & it’s a great toothbrush.

It arrived quickly and well packaged. It does what it claims and the sonic sensation is a bit strange to start off with; but you get used to it. The toothbrush is a bit basic compared to Thera in a similar price range, that connect with an app or have different settings.

This is the fourth of these toothbrushes that I have bought. I had to replace 2 this year as both used by adult kids were bent where the brush connects. Neither had used the extended guarantee within the box unfortunately for the first purchase and they only lasted just over 18 months. Despite disappointment they are still top rated for the money and quality on Which so risked a further investment. I’ve ensured however the extended warranty has been taken.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI am generally very pleased with this purchase. Cleans really well, battery life is excellent and good value in my opinion. Only downside is a cheap and nasty travel case which is already broken.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersI was due an electrical toothbrush upgrade after 18 months of tooth issues and repairs. And for completing treatments I rewarded myself with this toothbrush and all I can say is wow. I love it. The sleek design, case to take it with me during travels and the actual brush and how it gets to the places my older toothbrush could not reach.
The timer is so useful so there is a program time to clean your teeth. The vibration is slightly different from other brushes used I.e. oral b, but once you get used to it the freshness and cleanliness of the mouth after is amazing! I personally use the second speed setting which seems fine.
There is a small clear lid that covers the brush head for extra hygiene which I love, prefer to have my toothbrush covered at all times.
A great purchase – try it!

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersI love the fact this toothbrush has a larger head than the little rounded brushes on many electric toothbrushes. It doesa great job cleaning. Powerful but gentle, easy to use, sleek design, well made, not too heavy and a single charge lasts for ages.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis is my first try with a sonic brush having had Braun Oral-B ones for years but battery life is poor with them now. This sonic one is certainly a different experience and takes a bit of getting used too, but does do a really good job, much better the the Braun rotary ones. The only couple of niggles is the the timer seems a bit quick ( I need to check it’s 2 mins…) and the over pressure light feature is next to useless as you can’t see it when brushing! – Apart from that I am happy with it so far.

Have not had it long enough to give a proper and fair review, but, all I can say at the moment, that it is a better electric toothbrush than my previous make, the one most dentists recommend – Oral B

It started to bzzz with no pressure after one year. I filled out a support request on the Phillips website and got the replacement for free, without any fuss.

Good experience with support, but funny enough, my previous Phillips toothbrush malfunctioned the same way after four years.

Which means it’s a common problem which contributes to e-waste, and Phillips hasn’t fixed it.

I’ve had two of the eye wateringly expensive travel ones over the years (too expensive for what it is) and dabbled with the significantly cheaper 3100 too (rubbish ineffectual power and died within 9 months) but this one hits the sweet spot and we’ve had about three in the family over recent times. It does what its supposed to very well and robustly without ridiculous gimmicky extra modes. I soon realised I was wasting my money on the expensive and budget models – as soon as I got a refund on my short lived 3100 I immediately put ot towards this much more reliable and dependable 4300. You can feel the difference straight away. I noticed that this time around the extended warranty wasn’t offered as an optional extra perhaps they’ve had a run of returns on the 3100 and just don’t want to cover toothbrushes any more?

I’ve been using this for a year now, and I’ve packed this to a 2 week holiday without the charging dock. It lasted the whole journey without charging, and could probably go for a day or two longer.

Golden Review Award: 18 From Our UsersMy original review is below, however, I discovered that Philips gives a 2yr warranty! I contacted Philips and they are sending me a new toothbrush. Now you cannot fault that so I am upping my “overall rating” to 5 stars (from the 3 I originally gave). Very happy now 🙂

Bought this September 2022. It’s now September 2023 and it just stopped working. The metal ‘spike’ that you place the brushhead onto became loose about a month ago. Brush still operated though. Then it just died. Won’t charge. Useless. I just bought a 4-pack of new brushheads too :(. Should last a few years surely. Wouldn’t recommend this but maybe I got a bad one.
Up until it stopped working it was a good toothbrush, but nothing exceptional, cleaned my teeth.

Used Oral-B for decades but their battery life is not the same as it once was. My first Oral-B lasted for ages but the next 3 declined rapidly and needed to charge them every second day in the end.

So I took the risk and gave Philips Sonicare a chance (got the 4300 for 65).

Well well well, what a dramatic change, not only is the cleaning result much better (feels like a dentist cleaning after every use) but also the battery life is amazing. I use mine twice daily (approx. 4-5 minutes each time) and only have to charge it once a months which is absolutely amazing.

Yes, the replacement heads are a bit more expensive than Oral-B but I got 4 for 10 on offer, so that’s not too bad.

Got mine now for 12 months and still works perfectly. Used 5 heads so far.

Only downside for me is that the timer stops after 2 minutes and I have to turn the toothbrush on again. Would prefer if it just keeps going but it is not the end of the world. The other minor issue is that once you need a new head the brush will keep reminding you for a while which is a bit annoying if you want to use the old one for a bit longer. But this will also stop after a while and is no deal breaker either.

Also the travel case is useful and since the battery life is amazing, you can leave the charger at home if you go on holiday 🙂

    Cleaning results 10/10
    Battery life 10/10
    Handling and looks 10/10

    Would recommend it to anyone!

I’ve tried a sonic toothbrush before but was nothing like this!
First use was tickly and took a little getting use to. But the clean is next level! Never thought I’d be happy moving away from a rotating brush but I am sold!
It has four timers per 2 minute cycle so u can work through each quarter of your mouth giving enough time to focus on each one. Glad I made the switch. Very pleased!

This is the third one I’m buying (all the same) for different people and all the cases that came with them are faulty. They do not close at all, so they went straight in the bin. They should really sort that out or just not sell them anymore as it is so wasteful. The toothbrush itself is the best toothbrush I’ve ever tried, simple but very effective. You will never feel your teeth as clean with any other toothbrush. It takes a few hours to charge, but the battery lasts for over a month. It comes with European plug, so make sure you have an adapter.

Bought for my wife after I started using one myself earlier. Not the fanciest one on the market, but it literally changed my quality of life. It says on the box that you need a week to get cleaner teeth, but I noticed the difference from my first brush. I’ve bought many other impressive tech during my lifetime, but this one has been probably the most impactful one

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersGuys, I think Philips have finally invented a perpetual motion machine.
Bought the toothbrush over two months ago, been using it twice a day every day and it still hasn’t lost charge. It doesn’t even give me the low battery vibration warning yet. Not sure how that’s possible, but there you have it…

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersThis is the best Sonicare I’ve owned. It’s light weight, powerful, and simple. I don’t need the bells and whistles of more expensive models. My concern is that it will fail within 3 years like every other Sonicare I’ve had. Philips products are not built to last.

Golden Review Award: 10 From Our UsersPros:
+ I had relied on a top of the range Oral B for some years. My teeth felt instantly cleaner after using this
+ I suffer from gum disease and so have to have a 3 month check-up. My dentist commented on how improved my teeth were after using this for first 3 months.
    + Battery life is great
+ Functionality is simple. I just need a timer (which works fine) so chose this over the more expensive Sonicare range options as they seemed to be the same power but just with more gimmicks. Thanks, but what sort of person needs an app to clean their teeth?!

    Cons:
    – The replacement heads are a bit pricey (although seem to last better than the Oral B ones did)

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersI would give this 5 stars but as it a replacement for my old one which is exactly the same I shall not. My old one just died after about 3 years , the battery that’s built in would no longer hold a charge. I would have expected it to last longer than that. Hoping this one will last at least 5 years

Been a fan of Sonicare for a number of years but my old Sonicare wouldn’t keep a charge anymore so after a bit of research, I purchased this model. Since getting this & brushing twice a day for three weeks, it’s still not needing re-charged. This model doesn’t have as many of the bells & whistles that some others have (which I rarely used) but fantastic value for money for a brush with a 2 minute timer, prompt to move to other parts of the mouth & a couple of variations in speed. Highly recommended.

So glad I got this one. I had a Braun which worked very well but needed recharged every few days. So I got the cheap battery powered one but it’s rough and practically rattled my teeth out of their sockets.
Then I got this one and it’s perfect. The battery lasts ages – over 20 days, it’s very powerful but it’s a power focused onto a very tiny movement, so it doesn’t feel like it’s stripping your gums. Also the head is very thin, so comfortable and easy to move around in your mouth.
It feels like a piece of pro equipment – like you’ve had a trip to the dental hygienist.

Golden Review Award: 10 From Our UsersMy very first electric toothbrush was an old Philips version but when that one died after many years use I decided to try Oral B and chose the Pro 3000. I didn’t want all the App. based rubbish, just a good electric toothbrush. I’ve been using the same Oral B for some years now

I wondered about replacing my Oral B with a newer version but decided to try Philips Sonicare again

This one has the same cleaning (62,000 strokes a minute) as their more advanced models but, again, I didn’t want/need all the fancy bits like App. based etc

I immediately put it on charge and left it for a while until fully charged before trying it out

Wow! What an amazing clean this thing does. It definitely cleans better than the Oral B I have been using all this time

The brush head looks like a normal manual brush only smaller whereas the Oral B uses a round head. I thought I may not get on with this new shape but because it’s a small head there was absolutely no problems whatsoever

The only ‘smart’ thing this Philips toothbrush has is BrushSync which monitors your use and lights up the BrushSync light on the handle when it’s time to change the brush head, apart from that it has two speeds but I only use it on the highest setting

All in all I think it’s an extremely good brush and not too expensive either

    Highly recommended

UPDATE: I’ve been using this Sonicare toothbrush since I received it and it has only just flashed up that it needs a charge; so it lasted exactly one month between charges which I think is very good. It’s been an amazing product and my teeth look and feel extremely clea
