I like the customisation abilities with the lights.
The price was good.
I like the media keys, they are easy to use.
I dislike how Loud the clicks are when I’m typing.
And the wrist support is not very comfortable.
The keyboard is solidly built, with positive key strikes associated with all the razor keyboards I’ve owned/used. Its not as big as some if the others but still a full sized keyboard. Its compatible with the razor cortex software so setting up the led backlights is easy and can be tied in with any other led enabled devices that work with cortex. As for longevity only will tell, but I have no doubt it prove to reliable as my other razor kit so is well worth the cost.
I bought this for my son and he loves it (he should, he chose it!). You can change the colours via the computer so they are static or flash in a certain order/pattern and they are synchronised with the Razor mouse. I love the sound of the keys as it reminds me of a typewriter.
I’d definitely recommend it to anyone.
Managed to get this during prime day for 40% off! I love it, very loud clicks, so wouldn’t recommend for anything other than gaming. but as a whole, i love the product, i had a few other options to choose from but i’m glad i went with this one. LEDs are nice and bright, the wrist rest is perfect height, although i would prefer if it was magnetised to the rest of the keyboard.
I’ve been using BlackWidows for 8 or so years now and they just never disappoint.
I’ve purchased 3 BlackWidows in the 8 year period and to be honest, I could have easily got away with having 1. It was due to my negligence and tendency to spill beverages over the keyboard that eventually killed off two of them!
However, that being said, I have just purchased this BlackWidow Chroma (which I believe is a newer release) and I’ve already knocked over 2 glasses of water and a small glass of whiskey on this one (obviously just make sure to unplug/unpower your keyboard as soon as possible if this happens) and I’ve had no problems whatsoever. This newer version of keyboard (unlike previous versions as far as I can tell) is designed in a way that the underlayer of the keyboard, where you can usually see the switches, isn’t visible. This makes it perfect for the average beverage spiller because nothing actually spills into the electronics of the keyboard, just on the top layer of the keyboard.
I’ve always made sure to keep my keyboards in good condition, cleaning absolutely everything (apart from the electrics) usually every 2-3months. I’m not absolutely certain if this has extended the lives of my previous BlackWidows but it seems they are built ready for war. Almost like a Nokia brick phone.
Absolutely nothing to complain about – these keyboards are absolute beasts. Good lighting, perfect response time, comfortable to type with and absolute warriors when it comes to liquid damage.
green switches > every other switch to exist

I use this keyboard work college work but also on my ps5, first off the 3 connection types are not somthing commonly seen with many other keyboards as well as the 65% keyboard key factor i was looking for similar to a laptop. as their is no fail to how to connect it works with the PS5 via 2.4ghz dongle or wired . Next the build Quality is sturdy as the frame is made from metal and the keys are on fine and can also easily be taken off.
The ability to customise the Rgb lighting in the razer chroma app is great but also razer sells some keypads you can buy I hope to get the phantom key kaps.
They keys sound really nice and decently clicky which is always good and what you want from a keyboard.
Overall I am very happy with the product and its worth the amount on Amazon when on offer.
I am losing my sight, and the keys on this are wonderful. The letters/symbols are so large, clear and bright it makes it so easy to use on my bad days. Worth every penny.
I love the keyboard, definitely worth the money, only downside is that you can’t modify the colours of the nun lock light and caps lock
My son plays various PC games, mostly shooters and the like, and has experimented with various gaming keyboards over time (who hasn’t?!?!)… Having read reviews he opted for this one, and thus far it’s proving a faster response than he is! (lol)
He’s been playing certain games like the clappers, and thus far he’s commented that this keyboard is exactly what he wanted.
After streaming a few sessions he says his audience (mostly his mates) commented that they could hear the keyboard as he leapt about in the games shooting the wotsits out of everything that moved.
That’s the key observation though, the gameplay has definitely gone up a notch with the responsiveness of this keyboard so all’s great in that regard.
Excellent keyboard, a little loud for anyone else in the room or if you’re streaming/recording but extremely pleased with the customisation etc. The only thing that I feel let’s it down is the claims of anti ghosting but I have a fair few issues with it. I’ve tried default and custom settings as well as doing my best to keep the board clear of dust and the like but no luck so far in a solution.
Still it is likely my own issue and I would still recommend this to anyone looking for an upgrade (and has the money to burn of course)
Bought this for my son, it’s got the keys that clunk and it’s got fancy lights. He says it great.
Amazing my son loves it he does gaming most of the day and college work so gets used alot value for money looks great keyboards are so much better with the wrist palm rest attached great.
Its a good keyboard, but the green switches are basically just blue switches that require slightly more actuation force meaning for gaming they’re great, really responsive and you know exactly when a key has been registered. (can take a second to get use to tho)
for typing and programming the key layout is great for the UK Layout however the US layout is horrific (half size enter button and shifted parenthesis keys).
the chroma is quite a nice touch, doesn’t require much setup to get it to sync with the computer but it did cause quite a few issues on restart with synapse crashing out a lot (resolved itself quite quickly after a replug).
other than this the keyboard has been great. everything is up to scratch and the build quality is surprisingly good for razer; this doesn’t feel like a cheap keyboard at all.
as mentioned above the feedback through the switches is comparible to heavy blue switches, so entering the relm of buckle spring in terms of typing speed and user feedback; fast but slowed down on occasion because the actuation force is notable. (im typically use to MX browns ).
If you can get this for under 100 you will be laughing at what a bargain it is. The only issues I have with this keyboard is that the wrist rest is not magnetic and can shift a tad when flexing your hands while typing/gaming, easily fixed with double sided tape perhaps if it’s a nuisance for some. And the body should have been more metal to add to that durable high quality finish, but this doesn’t mean the board is flimsy or creaky, it’s well built.
The goods are what anyone expects, decent switches, I have become a clicky lover, I’ve had blacks, reds and browns prior, now im on razers own greens (basically blues) and the stabilisers around the cherry + add a lot of support to stop biggers keys like the right shift or alt keys from having any real flex or “lean”.
Brightness is great, software is excellent to set up some real custom styles, personally I like solid and done profiles, but it exists for those who want a display.
Media buttons do the job, nice scoll wheel for volume, the cable can be routed to go to the right of left in a channel, or left mid standard.
Get this in a sale, get some PBT keycaps and you’ll have a awesome typing experience.
Keyboard is really good, I also have a Razer mouse so the RGB is coordinated. The keys are very clicky, really quite load. They sound good but it’s not going to be everyone’s cup-of-tea. I have knocked off one star because this space bar sounds a bit crap, it has a slight squeak. This could possibly be fixed with a bit of lube but you don’t expect to be having to do repairs on a new keyboard.
I have another keyboard with Cherry MX Brown switches and I prefer the sound and feel of the Cherry switches. However, I do enjoy the Razer keyboard and I can recommend it especially for someone who enjoys a very clicky keyboard.
(please keep in mind this is the first gaming keyboard ive ever bought)
this keyboard is insane, the wrist rest (even though i was dissapointed it wasnt leather) is really comfortable, the keys are insanely clicky and i love clicky keys, every key stroke feels like a button press should, the multimedia controls are very useful and the RGB is so satisfying and useful for seeing keys in your periphery, its great to watch them go and when a game uses its own personalized scheme (like the recently released halo:infinite) it feels like such a great touch, the walls to the game begin to breakdown.
ultimately an amazing keyboard.
Good value in the Black Friday sale. Like that you can assign each key a colour using the software that is easily installed when you connect the keyboard. Now have backspace and delete easier to notice!
Has a nice feel when typing and not too loud.
Downside is that the wrist rest is hard and has a very plastic feel- pity it was not better quality. Also wrist rest only pushes up to keyboard and does not clip against it or magnetically attach.
A very nice keyboard, a bit on expensive side but, i you can get it discounted, it’s really nice.
The level of customization is exceptional, highly customizable RGB lighting, software is good also, you can customize every single butto
This is a good mechanical keyboard if you’re looking for a new one but don’t want to spend a fortune, I paid 90 euro when I bought it so keep that in mind.
It has the strong clicking noise every razer keyboard has, comes with a fully detached arm rest which I find pretty good, many will hate it.
The colours on the keyboard are nothing great, perhaps I need to play around with the app.
I have felt that a key press has not gone through once or twice but I still can’t tell if the keyboard is the problem or I’m imagining things.
Overall good if on sale.
I always prefer mechanical over soft touch and this is great. Really sturdy and well built a variety of rgb options and the slide wheel is really handy and simple.
Exactly what was required for gaming and very happy with it. Perfect brightness of background lights and they look great. Product and delivery excellent. Would recommend!
I’VE BEEN USING THE Blackwidow since version 1; since then we’ve LOST THE GAMING MACRO KEYS which I do kind of miss! WE’VE LOST THE USB PORT so you won’t be getting that back! THE KEYBOARD WRIST REST is just a bit of plastic which doesn’t attach to anything now. THAT DIGITAL ROLLER you know, the volume control is a bit, well…odd!
I use love this clicky noise those!
I can compare this keyboard with Corsair k57 Wireless. The battery of the k57 is far better lasting more than 2w for my use case (developer), and as stated in the manufacture manual, you can replace its battery by following instructions. I was not able to find such info for the Blackwidow, and on top of that, its battery last for around 3 days, before I need to charge again. However, blackwidow has mechanical keys, they are indeed good for typing (my first mechanical keyboard), and could be the cause for higher energy consumption. K57 does not have them. The point that made me, sticking with this model instead of k57′ was the Aurora RGB compatibility in wireless mode. Blackwidow works perfectly fine, with any RGB profile, without cables attached to it. In that way I can syncronize wired and wireless devices RGB to my will. K57 lacks this feature, when used in wireless mode. Finally, the wrist rest pad in Blackwidow cannot be attached to the keyboard like k57. I use this keyboard in my lap, and thus it is very hard to accomodate the resting pad + keyboard when typing.
Love the response times on the keys, individual lighting for each key is amazing and it feels very robust, loving it.
Great keyboard. Love the way you can set up for a whole array light sequences. Love the sound and feel when typing. If you want a quiet keyboard then pick another product. I love it. Quality build. I would definitely recommend this keyboard for a great gaming experience.
Would give 5 stars but even though I know it is mechanical KB it is very noisy, need headphones for gaming
Let me start with the good:
1. This keyboard feels amazing to type on. The Razer Green switches in my opinion are better than the Cherry MX in feel. Since using this my precision has gone up a lot when typing.
2. Software is pretty good. The customisability in Chroma is excellent with more options than you can count.
3. Gaming on this is noticeably different from using a membrane.
4. Hypershift lets you set your own macros without the extra macro keys.
Bad:
1. When you move the keyboard between PC’s it does not keep the RGB effect that you customised. This needs the Synapse software on both PCs to have the RGB customisation stay.
2. No USB or Audio passthrough
3. Keyboard height is slightly high for a TKL keyboard, but this can be mitigated with a good palmrest which i use anyways.
Note: The Razer logo at the bottom does not light up , it only does this on the ultimate edition. Found this out later as the Razer page shows that it lights up.
I like it, the software was really buggy at first but razer have done a few software updates and I’ve had no issues recently.
Great keyboard. Clicky green switches are great for gaming and very responsive. However if you work in an office they may be a bit too loud for others around you. Other than that it’s great and I love it.
Great keyboard. Unfortunately the “wrist rest” is a solid piece of plastic that honestly can’t be called a wrist rest or comfortable. Disappointed considering every other version has a fabric cushioned version.
