Read about this product in a news item and desperately needed new straighteners. Cannot believe the performance and quality for such a reasonable price. Over the moon with them and got them really quick.

Better than more expensive products. Handy pouch for travelling or for placing a hot straightener on to protect surfaces. Plates heat up quickly and don’t snag and pull your hai

I’ve only used it once and my hair looks so much healthier, I was worried that buying a more cheaper hair straightener will be my biggest regret but i was wrong its the best one i have ever had

I haven’t used a set of these for years. However really easy to use. I gone from electricuted poodle look to nice tame locks. Local hairdressers over processed my hair (perm lotion left for 40 instead of 20 minutes) I looked awful and couldn’t go without a hat on. Now I can go out and about. Really pleased with these.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThese straighteners were on offer at about a third of the price of ghd straighteners. I wasn’t expecting them to be great but to my surprise they are excellent. The fact that you can alter the temperature is a real bonus. No complaints and really good value for money.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI have lots & lots of fine hair that becomes very fuzzy & fluffy when it’s damp. I’ve always bought GHDs, but I need a second pair to keep in my drawer at work. My job takes me out & about, if my hair gets damp the fuzzy drives me insane. These sort it out quickly & effortlessly. Love the little heat proof bag too.

Purchased on a black Friday deal, so excellent value for money. Remington hair straigtners are always good and these do not disppoint. Long lead, which is a very useful and you can adjust the temperature yourself which is useful feature. Heat up as fast GHD’s and the plates glide over my hair. Very pleased with them and hope they last a long time.

I was looking for quite cheap and good straightener as I have had a GHD one which was too narrow. This one is amazing! Get your hair really flat and warms up very quickly! The Keratin Protection is great! worth the money for defo!!!

These are great value for money. They do the job. Needed new straighteners but couldn’t afford another pair of ghd’s. These do the job great but maybe aren’t quite as smooth going through the hair as the ghds.

The best straighteners I have ever used. My others are still working but the cord is very twisted from around 4 years of use. When I saw these on a special offer I purchased another setI would definitely recommend!

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersI use this product at 180 degrees which is still very hot for thick, shoulder length and unruly hair like mine. I think any hotter, then my hair would start sustaining damage. I previously used ghd straighteners which did end up damaging parts of my hair and making it look lanky and flat.
While both straighteners add a certain shiny sheen to my hair, the Remington seems to enable my hair to retain its natural bounce by the handy adjustable temp setting. I would say don’t use it at more than 180 degrees unless you are going on a night out and need the style to hold a bit longer. I have seen first-hand the damage to my own hair through hot styling products. An occasional use of the very hot setting I imagine would be okay, but I can feel the heat emitting from this device at just 180, so I haven’t used the hottest setting yet.

You can also lock the temperature if needed. Although, I never have these on for long enough to do so.

It does require patience if you want to achieve wavy or other fancy styles (approx 15-20 minutes), but for my purpose to have smoother hair, the Remington does the trick. I have been complimented by others thinking I went to the salon.

On the whole, I am really glad I went for this product. I’ve only had it a few weeks, but it’s been easy on my hair (and wallet!) so far.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI love it. It’s heating in 30 seconds or so, so even if I have to leave in 5 minutes I can still do my hair (shoulder length). It takes less effort than my old one, after use I can put it in its pouch as it’s cooling down. Never used safety off feature as I’m always unplugging it after use, but my friend, who recommended me this straightener, is happy that she can just drop it in pouch and leave it, as it turning off after certain amount of time. Floating plates are a great feature, and making whole process much easier.

Golden Review Award: 9 From Our UsersMy daughter had a birthday coming up, and being a teen, always has to go to school with straight hair.

How on Earth could I solve such a dilemma ???

Well Parents, worry no more, for I have solved this issue for you.

Buy some hair straighteners, this set for example in shiny metallic pink!!!!!!

Do they heat up in 15 seconds ? Damn straight they do.

Do they have keratin protection ? Damn straight they do.

Do they straighten hair ? Damn straight they do.

Are they, pink, girly and come with a heat proof bag ? Damn straight they do.

Should you buy them ? You know the answer.

    “Damn straight you should!!!!!”

I will write a complete review after using them and edit it after a month or so. I can’t be objective until then. For now: Perfect packaging. Fast Delivery. I checked everything and looks fine. The heat protection sensor feature is new to me. Let’s see if it works as stated. I hope that feature doesn’t interfere in the final results. The pouch is lovely, good enough for travelling. The straightener does fit in. It is tight and you have to organise these and the cable in a way that the zip can close all around them. Not for a rushed moment, true. In theory the pouch is heat resistant. I would not trust it and prefer to let them cool down on a safe/cold surface. My previous ones where GHD, I know so many reviews here also used them, that’s why I decided to take the risk and try. GHD are expensive but they have lasted me 12 years. I heard of cloud9 and check prices OMG! Even more expensive! Sure they are good quality ones, but I guess I am getting older and more sensible. It’s unbelievable that a more reasonable pair of straighteners (price wise), in the nowadays competitive market, cannot perform at a similar standard, the technology behind it cannot vary that much. And obviously we all pay for high Quality Control and Branding. To sum up, I am very excited about my new Remington Keratin Protect and their 5+1 year guarantee. I hope I have made the right decision. So far, they are lovely, just different design from my previous ones, not sure if these will be as sturdy. Definitely they would be perfect for a present. I will update my review once I know this product much better. 😉

Golden Review Award: 40 From Our UsersMy old GHD IV had clapped out and I was dithering between shelling out for a new one (120 eur just to replace with the same 10+ year old model, not even upgrading to a new version) as I know that GHD has always been pretty much the gold standard in quality for straighteners. Regardless, it was killing me to fork over that much so I made a snap decision based on the reviews of this and the fact that at the time it was reduced on Amazon to maybe 50 euro? No sooner had I pressed the buy button than the buyer’s remorse began – “buy cheap buy twice” etc etc. Well! I am happy to say that this has 100% been an upgrade to my old GHD. For information, I have medium thickness wavy hair with a tendency to frizz – it is not super tight and curly and takes heat well. Some of the main points of note that I am delighted with:
    1. it takes about 5 mins to straighten my hair to poker straight and it stays pretty straight for a few days; the odd wave here and there if is humid etc but largely only needs to be straightened once for 2/3 days
    2. Heat settings – the available heat settings are an upgrade from the GHD which I believe only goes to 180 celsius. I use this at 200 and the added heat and the plate quality means my wavy hair is straight in one stroke, reducing the heat exposure. I believe it has the capacity to go higher too for hair with more resistance!
    3. Plates – there is NO drag on these plates. The feeling of it going through your hair is so smooth compared to my old GHD that I thought maybe I didn’t have enough hair in the plate of something and that it couldn’t possibly be straightening it as there was no “pull” on the hair.
    4. Breakage/hair damage – used to have a lap full of broken hair after straightening with the GHD. There is of course still some hair fall here as you are using a heated product but nothing by comparison – I assume this is down to the lack of drag on the hair from the plates and the fact that with the higher heat you need to go over the sections less.

Finally re the keratin/rose oil option – I 100% thought this was a load of markety waffle (how could this be in a straightener) but it definitely does do something – for me it isn’t really necessary as the oil weighs down my hair type but there is certainly SOMETHING happening on this setting – I would imagine it would class for drier, curlier hair types to protect and reduce frizz. I looked a little like I had oiled my head but I can’t dispute that it definitely does what it says on the tin!

All in all – v impressed. Have had it for a few months now so the last test will be the longevity compared to the GHD, which to be fair, is the Nokia 3310 of straighteners.
