This product is great well worth the money and the bigger battery I bought is excellent for using in my strimmer and my hedge trimmer in one gardening session.

The battery arrived next day to my local Amazon locker, the outer packaging was damaged and looked like it had been opened and the actual packaging on the battery was damaged but the item itself was in perfect condition.
Ryobi offer a 3 year warranty for their products so I went ahead and registered it after which I got a confirmation of warranty which gave me more confidence of its authenticity.
It took about 2 hours to charge which is the same as the one I already had and it lasted just as long as my existing battery..the only thing to note was that the date of manufacture was 2022 but as already stated I still got 3 year’s warranty when registered
The battery was a perfect fit to all my Ryobi tools there were no issues with inserting or removing and apart from the serial no and date of manufacture it is identical to my existing battery in conclusion I wouldn’t hesitate buying another one should I need one

I bought two of these a good while ago and they’re still going well now (Dec 22). They hold their charge well and just keep going

Bought to use with the Robi saw, which needs the power of this battery and had plenty of capacity. Hard to assess the battery life as still three quarter charge.

The Ryobi RB1840S ONE+ 4Ah battery lasts for about fifteen to twenty minutes of leaf blowing with the OBL1820S blower before needing a recharge.

The RC18120S charger and this battery stay cool during the three hours required to fully recharge the battery. Taking this long suggests the battery has a big capacity for charge, at least 4Ah, maybe a fair bit more.

Nice long lasting charge from battery with tool showing no sign of slowing during use even when battery almost empty all this type of battery seem a bit pricey to me now more are being used let’s hope prices fall
    Recommend

I love the Ryobi one+ range, have multiple gardening tools available from them and I’m slowly replacing my tools when they wear out to join the range. The simplicity of the plug and play is fantastic and the tooling is of high quality. I already had 1 of these batteries and while the charge time is great, it doesn’t quite cover all my garden jobs (30 foot long Laurel to cut) and a reasonable sized front/back garden to mow. 2 is more than sufficient. They are very expensive though and there are cheaper alternatives available, while they’re not recommended for use, if I require another one should the lifespan on these batteries start to diminish I’d be tempted to try them owing to the cost.

Delivery on time excellent value for money and fits a lot of the robins products so don’t have to buy lots of other batteries. We purchased long side the knapsack battery operated paint sprayer lasted a long time and still had power left after painting. 40 metre fence

Always liked Ryobi tools, they feel solid and well built without the price tag compared to some more expensive makes, do when a 4amp Ryobi battery came up
in a flash sale for half price, I snapped it up
Seems to go on and on without needing a charge, worth buying the ryobi rather than aftermarket battery.

bought this to replace my ryobi 2.4ah, defunct after 11 years. It charges in my (even older) ryobi charger and takes about 25% longer to fully charge than the old battery – to compensate, working time is about 25% longer. No idea if the cheaper – non Ryobi – batteries are better or worse but as the old ryobi battery lasted for 11 years of punishment…..

And its lighter.. not much but noticeable with a hedge trimmer.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI’ve kind of “signed up” to the Ryobi One + concept and now have several of the garden and DIY tools. I previously bought the 18V Quickmow lawnmower which came with a 4AH battery and charger and recently bought this additional one so that I could always have one on charge. The battery life is exceptional and the charge is fairly quick. The battery has a built in “fuel guage” so that you can see how much juice you have left. Its also great in the One+ hedge cutters giving plenty of cutting power and endurance. Its a fair bit heavier than the 1.5 AH batteries and this can be noticed when used on the smaller tools such as a drill but the extra life over the smaller cells is really useful. Highly recommended and I may go for a third !

Golden Review Award: 38 From Our UsersThe Ryobi One+ system is a concept also implemented by Dewalt and others, where a wide range of hand tools can all be powered by a single interchangeable battery. Although some ‘sets’ of tools with batteries are available, the principle is generally to supply individual ‘bare’ tools without a power supply, thus minimising costs. There are three Ryobi battery types (all can be used on any One+ tool), labelled by Ryobi as NiCad, Lithium, and Lithium+. The originals were NiCad and suffered the inherent well known problems of that technology (memory effect, short life, charge loss, etc.), the second generation (‘Lithium’) are actually Lithium-ion (a pure Lithium cell is not rechargable), but use a different and slightly less effective electrolyte), The battery here however is the ‘Lithium+’ version and the best of the three types. In addition to its labelling, it can also be differentiate easily by it’s yellow head.

The battery is available in three power capacities (1.5Ah, 2.5Ah and 4.0A). They all have the same footprint, but the larger capacities are deeper and correspondingly heavier. The only differences in use are the overall weight of the tool and the length of time you can use it before discharge. There is absolutely no difference in a tool’s performance with different battery capacities. The weight factor is quite significant as the bigger, heavier batteries make a tool more cumbersome, tiring to use and potentially less precise. It is generally wiser to have two small batteries and swap them over, than to just fit a single larger battery. Charging is of the 1.5Ah is less than an hour and the ‘swap out’ takes just seconds – they click into place quickly and easily.

Unlike earlier technologies, these Li-ion cells have a superb power curve. They continue to give virtually 100% power to the very end of their charge and then just stop dead. There is no gradual ‘slowing down’ as the remaining capacity drops. In addition, the Ryobi Lithium,+ batteries all have an in-built LED power indicator; just press a small button and up to four ‘bars’ give an indication of how much capacity remains. The charge holds for very long periods.

Beware when purchasing as there are a number of fake and refurbished batteries available (for all makes) which whilst looking the same as originals, contain cheap, nasty cells, reducing their lifespan and in some cases being quite dangerous.

Expensive but makes a difference.I was using smaller batteries with my Ryobi cordless drill and sabre saw, no problems in 5 years! When I use the same 2 amp batt. pack with the Ryobi circular saw it was hopeless. It kept on stopping through a cut and I had to pull it back to re-start.In the end I gave up cutting boards with a cordless circular saw.I got this 4 amp batt. pack and just wanted to give my Ryobi circular a last chance! Yes , now its cutting much better.I know the amperage is more to the with the duration of the charge but it Works as if its received a considerable boost.I will have to report on how long it lasts.

Can’t speak highly enough about these batteries which have rejuvenated my use of existing Ryobi One+ tools. I previously used Ni-Cd batteries which were OK when relatively new but never had great life when used hard. The Lithium cells are lighter, more compact, charge more quickly and last miles longer than their predecessors – I would say 3 to 4 times as long. They also hold their charge when not in use which is great news for those unpredictable jobs. The only question mark is how long will this performance last – only time will tell but, so far at least, these batteries tick all the boxes.

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersQuite frankly a stonking LiOn battery pack. I bought this as a replacement for the older 2.8Ah batteries that after four years of being used and abused renovating a house and in daily use finally started to fail. With this bigger 4Ah battery I have given my 1+ tools a real uplift and they work as well as new but with far better life and performance. The additional power really helps when driving in long screws into oak.

The quality is excellent and if anywhere near as good as my older ones will last a good length of time and take a lot of abuse. There is a battery life indicator which might be useful if you tend to use tools infrequently. However for me using these all the time I simply use them until they stop and then chuck them back into the 1 hour charger. Even doing this – which is not the best way of using LiOn batteries – I get decent life and service.

If you want to maximise LiOn batteries then charge them when part used most of the time and then flatten them about once a month. There’s plenty of engineering info out there on this subject. Or if you are a high user then just use them and don’t worry about it. The cost is well covered in the amount of production you get out of them.

They are large – no getting away from that. I don’t have an issue with it but that may be a consideration for some.

Big plus point is the Ryobi range of tools which is huge, reasonably priced and easily the equal of brands double the price. I’m a marine engineer and have also spent 30 years renovating and building houses. I’ve used every tool out there including some proper high end stuff. I don’t consider Ryobi in any way inferior to the likes of Makita or DeWalt (Black and Decker).

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersCharge lasts well and is much lighter than the other 2.4Ah version I have (which came with the drill). Lithium batteries are much better than Ni-Cad as the charge lasts much longer. They keep their performance right up to the last bit of charge, unlike Ni-Cads whose performance tails off at a slower rate, losing power longer before they are ready to be re-charged.

I would recommend buying two x 1.5Ah as the lighter weight makes it much easier on the hands, wrists and arms. While I consider the Ryobi range of tools is not the best quality for full-on professional use, they are pretty good for heavy DIY use. Don’t forget the Lithium batterys need a special charger.

This battery is great, I bought it to partner an Impact Wrench (to remove wheel nuts from the car). It didn’t even use one ‘bar’ of battery to remove / refit wheels over a weekends worth of DIY – removing / refitting alloys and I was able to save a lot of time. Whilst I’m pleased with the battery, the cost was a kicker… I paid 73, but just a few days later the battery is available from some sellers for a more palatable 55.

I should add that it’s a heavy battery (perhaps heavier than the tool), but that wasn’t an issue for me
