So much easier to use than a corded vacuum and flies through the house, easy to use and clean equipment afterwards, some tools included and light on the front is a big help.

having a sight issue is some times hard to see if you have everything picked up, but with the IQ it lets you know as it powers up and then settles again. great vacuum

Don’t usually leave reviews but I need to this time. This vacuum is outstanding across the board; powerful, lightweight, easy to stow away and long battery usage. Had so many different vacuums over the years but this is miles ahead of anything else. I actually enjoy doing the hoovering now (well almost).

It is very good and powerful but because of my disability cannot use it as often as I would like. Trying to get someone to help me is an almost impossibility. I live in a bungalow and Im elderly and suffer with

Coming from a Dyson V7 but so expensive now
My gf had a shark mains one and I used it and my god did it pull the pile up made my carpets look like new again
So I thought I’d give the battery version ago knowing it wouldn’t be as powerful obviously
And it’s fantastic auto speed for how dirty your carpets are and a boost button . 2 batteries loads of accessories and light and easy to use no holding a button in anymore like on the V7
    Highly recommend

This project stopped working after two weeks use. The battery will charge when connected then to the vacuum itself will not work at all. There’s no power at all. Getting to the machine contacted shark to be told. I need to provide details of supplier when I told them the supplier was themselves why the Amazon site heard nothing else since this was been an expensive lesson We have emailed and contacted Shark number of times were still no response

I love this cordless hoover. First time with a cordless one and as it has two batteries, I can do my whole house in one go. I love the crevice tool for getting into nooks and crannies and it’s so lightweight to carry up the stairs – it folds down as well so you can store it with such a small space – I’m actually going to buy my sister one as I think this is brillia

Its really light weight. You can use it anywhere! Suction is alright, not the worst. Easy to assemble when I bought it. Very easy to clean. The price fits the product.

Seriously impressed at how well this vacuum cleaner performs compared to my previous much more expensive cordless hoovers. Bought a second battery based on other reviews but not had to use it yet. The compact size when folded is brilliant.

The thing I love most about my new vacuum is that it is cordless. It is super easy to empty as long as you have a large bag into which you empty the contents. The suction is excellent. The one drawback I found was that it is rather top heavy to push around.

  12. Anonymous says:

Super easy to use and incredibly powerful despite it’s size and appearance. We use it a lot in a busy family house as our only vacuum cleaner and it covers our entire house on a single charge.

The only draw back is that anything larger than a 50p coin creates a blockage that you need to remove (easily) before continuing. This is only a problem if you have kids who leave art and craft material all over the place. Well worth the investment overall.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersThis shark cordless vac came with 2 batteries. I can do a two bed house twice easily with each battery. I use it in auto mode as this works best for me I think. What it does is, if it senses more particles say for example spilt talcum powder then it boosts up thr suction to get rid of the mess and then goes back to normal when all particles are picked up. The unit itself folds in half when not in use. This is great to keep away in a small cupboard or wardrobe.
When I first got this vacuum, I vacuumed the lounge first with my old corded vac then I did again with the shark. I couldn’t believe how much dust and debris it had picked up just straight after I’d already vacuumed.
Its very easy to empty, simply go over to a relevant bin, push the black button and the flap at the bottom springs open depositing the rubbish into the waste.

Before this vacuum I had the old ones with the cord and I can say that this vacuum is amazing. I have a long hair cat that sheds everywhere and with this vacuum you can’t find any hair in my house. The battery doesn’t last long if you you it at max power but with the 2 batteries I can vacuum my 2 floors flat. I’m overall happy with the quality and I think you get your money worth.

First impression was very good, however why were there no instructions or user guide? I have since discovered this has to be downloaded from the shark website
Spending hundreds of pounds on item, surely there should be an instruction book enclosed, most things are quite straight forward, however having no instructions could lead to misuse & therefore could inevitably invalidate the warranty/guarantee, that’s my thinking anyway!

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersStill not quite sure about this cordless vacuum. It seems to do a good job but I did have a problem charging the battery at one point so I ran it right down and it seems to be ok now. I find it sticks in the pile of the carpet when vacuuming against the pile which my Dyson didn’t do. I still use my Dyson for the stairs as the attachment isn’t great on the Shark for the purpose intended. But all in all a pretty good hoover.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersWas slightly concerned about how narrow, light and quiet it was. Soon I discovered that the dust container was filling up very satisfactorily with dog hair and dust, so must be working! Love the ease of hoovering under beds/settees/sideboards and small spaces. Largish house and 2 batteries just manage it, would definitely recommend 2 for anything bigger than modern 3 bed, though adds quite a lot to price. Can’t fault it after 3 months though not sure it will last the 12 years my bulky old Dyson did.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersThis is the first time I’ve bought a shark hoover and it’s fantastic. There is very little I don’t like. The double battery option is great although I find 1 battery lasts for the whole house.
The sensor which adapts to the surface and increases the suction if it senses more dirt. The light telling me my carpet is clean, the quick release system and the digital display telling me how much battery is left. I feel this is just as good if not better than some other makes which are double the price with the same features. I’m really happy I got fed up with my old brand as shark you are much better and more affordable
Comes with lots of attachments too and although slightly heavier than my old cordless vacuum, to me it doesn’t matter as the suction is bette

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersMy upright Dyson was wearing out. They don’t last like they used to.

This was on offer at a bargain price on Prime day. I hadn’t used a cordless before but I love the versatility so much easier to manoeuvre. It’s compact too compared to my upright so we keep it in the corner ready to use for any little spills and quick onceovers.

The attachments are really easy to attach and use. It’s easy and effective on stairs. You can pick it up suck up any cobwebs from the ceiling. It’s really easy to empty too.

I like the way it roars when it comes across any dirt it has a sensor on it.

The two batteries mean that it’s always ready to use, one on the vacuum and one on the charger. I’m impressed!

Better suction than my previous Shark, lighter too. The Clean Sense takes a bit of getting used to and I feel it sometimes uses the boost when it’s not really needed, but apart from that I’m so glad that I stayed with Shark. Its a great produc

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersGot this for my mum she’s mad on vacuums, she’s had most of the recent models and she’s in love with this. It increases suction power when there’s more to suck up and reduces when the floor is relatively clean and the pole folds in half which is actually useful when going under furniture as the pole goes flat to the floor unlike most cordless vacuums. Highly recommended from mum at least!

Really easy to use, and lightweight making it much easier to vacuum the house than our heavier wired Shark vacuum cleaner.

I still use the bigger vacuum cleaner about once a week for a deeper clean, but this cordless one is great.

Battery doesn’t last too long, but it’s simple to recharge.

I had to return a Shark cordless Vac due to its poor suction and was wary of this one. However, I was pleasantly pleased with it’s performance. The suction is better and if it detects more debris, it automatically increases the suction, without you having to press for more suction. The air fragrance is a con, as it quickly finished and not sure how expensive it is to buy one.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersWriting this review means I’m definitely in my 30s, but this is the best hoover I’ve ever had. I’ve got 3 Shark Hoovers — one corded that I’ve had for about 6 years, which is great, but too heavy for me to use as I’m disabled. I also have another cordless which is rubbish, but this one is brilliant. Great battery life (with 2 batteries), easy to manoeuvre, efficient on both carpet and hard floors. It’s not too heavy either, and deals with fur from my two golden retrievers and fluffy cat really well. Folds down well and I like that the charger only holds the batteries, so you can charge one while you use the other. Nice display and the clean sense mode works so well. Only downsides are that the pet attachment isn’t the best, but still works and is good for the stairs, and the odour pod seems to have dissipated quite quickly, so not sure if I’ll buy replacements.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis is powerful machine with great battery life, and solves all my pet hates with the our older asthmatic Shark.

However, there are still situations where using our Henry just makes more sense.

Have the previous version to this hoover and it’s a decent hoover albeit I had to replace the head after 14 months. Bought this one on a deal and it’s excellent. Definitely an upgrade on the previous one. More suction and I like the way it increases or decreases power to suit the floor cleanliness. The anti hair wrap didn’t work on the previous model as I have 2 long haired muts who constantly shed hair, I was forever cutting hair away from the head as it always became tangled.this model has nailed it as no tangling occurs.i hope the head is more durable than the first model but so far so good.very impressed with it.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI am so pleased with this vacuum cleaner! It’s really powerful and versatile. Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersDay one review.

Unpacking it, I was shocked at how compact it was in the box. At first I was a little disappointed because I thought the product was misleading, but it was my error. Product received was accurate to the description. There is an optional “under furniture” tool you can purchase which I was confusing with the flexible body of the main product.

Using it on standard carpets with the “perfume” canister set to medium was really great! The suction on it was amazing – wasn’t expecting it to be that good.

Using it on stairs was far easier than other vacuum cleaners due to the motor being close to the handle, allowing for an “oversized handheld” experience, but with the suction of a full-sized vacuum cleaner. However, it wasn’t perfect. The main vacuum head is too big, and the pet tool is rubber blades instead of brushes. Could have been perfect with a smaller head with rotating brushes. However, using the crevice tool on the edges/crevices on the stairs was nothing short of perfect.

Using it on tiles was as perfect as you could expect it to be.

I used it on the full power mode to do the stairs and it used 80% of the battery. However, that might just be because I am slow doing it.

Final point is that although I am not disabled, I do have physical issues that impair my ability to perform tasks like vacuuming stairs. I have struggled with other vacuums in the past, but this one made the job the easiest it has ever been.

Worth every penny! I just hope it doesn’t break…

Golden Review Award: 15 From Our UsersI managed to pick the Shark Stratos cordless up on the Prime day sale and saved nearly 200 which was superb as i think i would have been a little dissapointed paying 550 to be honest.

    Positives

The suction power on turbo mode or when the hoover automatically selects it is the best i have ever witnessed and rivals corded hoovers

Great selection of tools including a motorised cleaning head

Nice charger that has suction cups on the bottom so doesnt keep sliding around if mounted on a smooth surface.

Ability to bend in the middle to get under tables etc and also bends in half for a small storage footprint

Digital display is nice and clear

Looks good, well as good as a cordless hoover can look, not jazzy but professional looking

Ability to charge the battery on the hoover if you unplug the mains adapter from the charger and plug it into the battery thats on the hoover directly.

The Anti Wrap really works! No long dog hairs or human hairs seem to phase it.

The little stay fresh canister thingy really works well and the hoover emits a nice clean fragrance when used.

Cleans well for dust all the way up to 2-5mm grains of dirt.

    Not so good.

It tends to fight you a bit on carpet, some carpet more than others . One due to the suction power as it ramps up and one due to something to do with the cleaning head design that seems to want to run with the grain of certain rugs and carpets meaning its much easier to push in one direction that the other . No idea whats going on there .

Its not really a light weight hoover and takes some force to push it along carpet when on full suck, equally you wouldnt want to hold it above your head for long to get at cobwebs etc.

The variable auto adjustment is a bit chaotic and can wind up or down with no apparant reason on the same surface.

Battery life seems less than advertised. Using for a couple of minutes dropped it from 100-70% today . Two batteries is a must for a larger households to my mind.

The head will need to be maintained at least once a month especially if you have a dog etc as the teeth will get clogged with dog hair and the front brush will get dirty and need a wash.

Included tool bag was a bit cheap and almost felt like an after thought.

Ill give the Stratos a solid 8.5 out of 10 in the main.

Bought on prime day at a great price. Two batteries charge on the base and don’t need to find a place on the wall by a socket. It folds down really neatly and there is a bag for all the accessories. The scent is not overpowering and just freshens the area. The first battery lasted for 2 rooms in the house and the footwear of my car. The second battery did the rest of my car and my sons car with some life left. Impressed with the powerful suction. The sensor adjusts well. It doesn’t stand up when fully extended, clearly meant to be folded when not in use. I think it is more powerful than my 3 year old v10 animal.

Having used this vacuum for a couple of weeks now, I’m very pleased with it. It picks dust and hair up well on carpets and plumps up the fibres nicely too. It’s great on hard floors too.
It’s not quite so good on stairs as our previous Dyson cordless vacuum. The dust bin is also rather small – I’ve had to empty it after every use.
These minor criticisms aside though, I’m well pleased with it.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our Userswas stock between shark and dyson. dyson is super pricey and they don’t like giving discounts… so got this one on a sale. I have to say most definitely you need 2 batteries. also it’s a bit heavy. I live in a one bedroom flat, got a rug in living room and bedroom flooring is carpet. rest is a mix of tiles and hard flooring. eco mode and auto sense are alright for hard flooring and tiles. yet for the carpet and rug areas boost mood is the way to go. on a full charge each battery lasts about 10-15 minutes max. you have too vacuum slow and steady otherwise it won’t work as a deep vacuuming on rugs and carpets. and it has a super tiny dustbin which you might have to empty 2-3 times each time you’re vacuuming. bear these in mind that I have a cat as well. also what I do like is the anti odour technology which gives a fresh scent to the house while vacuuming. can’t get the scent cartridges direct from their website but they are available on amazon. overall suction power is good but only in boost mode. also the anti hair wrap works pretty well. overall it’s been positive just a matter of time to see how durable it is.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI have always had a very well known hand held cleaner but as they are now just SO expensive looked for an alternative. The Stratos took time for me to get used to also a bit fiddlier than my previous hand held. But once used to it, it is very good & powerful if needed , would recommend 2 batteries , though it has never run out on me yet it’s just a better deal to get at same time & then always have back up. Have the car kit as well & just used it ,so very good for getting to those difficult places. All in all pleased with performance No more dogs hair everywhere..

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersIt’s a great vacuum. Full of lots of clever and useful engineering.
Getting the show home lines on the carpet is very easy to do with this vac!
However, I have a 3 bed house over 3 floors, no pets, and by the time I’ve hoovered from top to bottom – bar the living room – the battery is dead.
In comparison to my other shark, the corded lift away, it does do a better job, much easier and lighter to lift up and down stairs.
Like most other sharks though, it does seem to have a problem standing up. It’s ok when folded down and put away, but if you’re needing it to stand for a minute it needs to be stood up against a wall or something.
For the price I think another battery could have been included. That is the reason for knocking a star off.
Other than that though, it does do an amazing job.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersBought this to take the place of cabled Dyson and very impressed. Reasonably quiet in operation and sucks really well. Golden Review Award: 46 From Our UsersIt’s taken me a while to get there, but I’m finally a convert to battery powered appliances. I’ve long been an advocate of cordless tools, but larger high-drain appliances such as vacuum cleaners and lawnmowers I wasn’t so sure about. Earlier this year I saw the light when I bought a LawnMaster battery powered lawn mower, finding everything about the experience revelatory. And now, inevitably, I’ve reached the same position with vacuum cleaners.

For the last 10-15 years or so we’ve had Dysons. I always thought they were the proper business, and we still have an upright and a cylinder versions of their Animal range. But, as they got older, I found them to be heavy, cumbersome and perhaps not as good as I’d convinced myself that they were. Specifically, the “Animal” claim was always doing a lot of heavy lifting, and I spent as much time unwrapping border collie fur and the wife’s long hair from the head unit as I did actually vacuuming.

But, the biggest problem with them was how much hassle they were to drag around the house, unplugging and plugging them back it, painful to clean the stairs, and storing them was just a downright pain in the backside. So, I started looking into battery powered vacuums several years ago. I head a lot of good things about many different brands. My sister swears by G-tech, for example. But more and more I heard a lot of good things about Shark. I’ve had several in my Amazon Wishlist for a long time, tracking their prices and reading the reviews. I’d almost got to the point where I was ready to commit.

And then, Shark brought out a new model. The Shark Stratos Pet Pro. It immediately made me sit up and take note, and I kept a close eye on the reviews coming in and the price, which at RRP is eye-watering. If I was going to spend that much on a cleaner, I wanted to be sure it was right. I hoped to get a deal during the Black Friday sales, but seeing the stock levels convinced me that it was unlikely to happenbut a refresh one evening of my Wishlist saw it not only back in stock but on a great offer. As the stock level plummeted while I looked, I dived in and placed my order.

The vacuum actually arrived on the Friday of Black Friday, and I set the camera rolling while I unboxed it and set it up for the first time. Much of the focus of my reviews is on how easy something is to use and set up, and a product like a vacuum can often come with so many attachments and bits that you’re never sure where to start. There’s certainly plenty of bits inside the Shark’s box, but it’s very straightforward.

You get the vacuum body, housing the motor, dust box, handle and where you connect the battery. You get two 60-minute batteries (one if you go for the single battery version, obviously), and a dual dock battery charger. There’s multiple heads for different activities, such as general cleaning, the stairs, upholstery and dusting, with a canvas bag to store them all in. There’s a central section that connects the body to your chosen head, which you will use in general floor cleaning but remove if you want to use the vacuum as a handheld device for cleaning stairs. You also get a purifier device in a sealed can that you fit to the main vacuum head, which you can definitely smell (in a pleasant way) when you’re vacuuming.

The vacuum has so many attachments and articulations that it could be in danger of being too complicated, but in reality it all works very well. There’s quick release buttons on the heads, on the main body to release the central section, and to fold the whole thing into a compact store mode. The dust bin releases very easily and is really straightforward to empty.

A note on the dust bin is that it does have a small capacity and you will likely be needing to empty it more regularly than you would with a regular vacuum, but the offset is that it is very easy to empty.

In operation the Shark Stratos is a delight to use. It really is lovely to use. Not only because you’re unencumbered by cables, but because it’s weighted really well. I wouldn’t say it’s a lightweight device, but the weight is nicely balanced and the way the head articulates will see you galloping around the house. I’m not saying it’s perfect, but it’s better than anything I’ve used before. The weight is mainly in the body of the vacuum, where you hold it, which means that you can’t let it stand up on its own like you would with a traditional upright vacuumit’ll simply fall over. It’ll stand up when you take the dust bin off to empty, but it won’t stand up in any other circumstance unless you fold it down into its store-away mode.

But aside from that, I can’t stress enough how quickly you clean your house. I hadn’t quite realised how much of the vacuuming experience was taken up with dealing with the cables. Without them you sprint around, you really do. And the main head unit is brilliant. It is so low it gets under every cupboard and sideboard in the house. It has a headlight on it which really does a good job of showing the way forward, and there’s a lightbar that indicates how much power is being used. The vacuum adapts to different surfaces and workloads by reducing or increasing the power needed. It works really well. We’ve got a mixture of carpets, tiles and parquet flooring and it goes from one to another so smoothly.

On the main body you’ll find the power button (which there seems to about a 1 second delay before the power kicks in making you want to press it again) and a button for switching into eco mode. To be totally honest, the only scenario I would ever use eco mode is when I’d cleaning mats/rugs that would otherwise be sucked into the cleaner if it was at full tilt.

Which leads me onto perhaps the most important thing. Battery life. I specifically went for the twin battery version, as I would with any power tool, as it gives you the option to charge one battery while continuing to operate the device. Shark’s stated 120 minute battery life across both batteries is based on using eco mode. Well, I live with a border collie and a wife with 3ft long hair.eco mode isn’t an option. I’m going to be using it at full power, all of the time. In the real world, how does the battery fare?

On the first time I used the Shark, having fully charged the batteries, I did a complete clean of the house, top to bottom including stairs, cleaned the sofas, used the dust attachment and did all of the picture rails, skirtings, sideboards.anything that I could vacuum I vacuumed. With both batteries the Shark flew through everything with plenty of charge left to spare. I had my stopwatch running the entire time, pausing the clock every time I stopped to empty the dust bin (four times in total across the entire house) and completed a total clean of the house.which really doesn’t happen very often. The Shark still had 20% left in the second battery. I kept going though as I wanted to see exactly how long the battery lasted. It took an age for that last 20% to deplete, and when it did I had been vacuuming for a total of 44 minutes 28 seconds. This was using a mixture of the heads, but primarily the main powered head.

Now, 44 minutes doesn’t actually sound very much does it? It’s a lot less than the manufacturers claims, but that is against using eco mode. In reality, 44 minutes vacuuming is a long time. We have a decent sized 3 bedroomed detached house, with added border collie. It’s a reasonable challenge for a cordless vacuum, but the Shark has taken it impressively in its stride. Without cables to deal with you’ll find you really will fly around your house.

Is it flawless? No, it’s not. As I say, with the dust bin in place the vacuum won’t stand upright on its own. And the dust bin is small so you’ll be emptying it regularly. I question whether the single battery version would clean much but the smallest of properties. It’s also very expensive, even on offer. But, on the right deal, it soon starts to make sense. With the twin batteries it’s extremely capable. It cleans really well, gets into awkward places, is quite quiet in comparison to vacuums I’ve previously used, the dust bin is easy to clean, it all folds away into a very compact form and is easy to store, the batteries are charged off-machine, which means you don’t need to store it close to a power supply to keep it charged. It’s very agile and incredibly versatile. You’re effectively getting an upright vacuum and a handheld vacuum in one, so you can do the stairs or the car very easily. It also comes with a 5-year warranty (2 for the batteries).

Is it worth the money? There’s no denying that it’s expensive, but would I buy it again? Yes, I’m sure that I would.

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersWe’ve had various Dysons and indeed still have 2 but this Shark so far has done very well and has proved itself as we also have now a long term baby sitting for a dog. I would recommend this now above a Dyson it’s well made and feels sturdy too. It’s a lot of money for a vacuum and still wince at the price. Hoping I didn’t make a mistake but after countless hours researching and a few weeks using the machine kinda think I did the right thing.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersExcellent build quality, feels very robust. Powerful suction and a well designed head that picks up large particles and dust, hair etc. equally well. The wand is flexible which makes it easier to clean under furniture and it folds up for easy storage. The battery life is perfectly fine for our two bedroomed bungalow and it charges reasonably quickly. Easily converts to a hand held for furniture and the like. Very pleased with this purchase.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI like my main vacuum – Miele Cat & Dog Complete, but I do find humphing it up the stairs a trial. The Shark Stratos Cordless is conveniently lightweight as an upright & lighter still when I want a hand held sooker-upper for the stair carpet. Loving the plug & lead free battery option. Lots of useful tools for various nooks and crannies. The motorised pet tool is the only time I see the battery energy dropping fairly rapidly, but I only use it on the staircase & have a spare battery which is fine for my needs.

I’d recommend this if you want to keep on top of your vacuuming with short daily run-a-rounds, avoiding massive pet hair build up & something adaptable around the home.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersWas a bit sceptical but this vaccum really is awesome. Suction power is really good. The auto detection helps save battery, which does last long in auto settings. Of course in high power, not so much.
Part are easy to exchange and it’s also easy to empty the dirt. Very happy with my purchase. Ohh and although I vaccum almost every day, the fresh scent still lasts since my purchase 2 months ago

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersSeems well made but pretty noisy and a bit heavy. I have the 2 battery model which is definitely needed to hoover one floor of the house. It’s good at picking up large debris but a bit disappointing on cat hair on carpets.I find the on/off switch is not very positive and don’t like the idea of having to carry the bag of tools as there is no onboard storage. I got this on an offer but wouldn’t pay the full price.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersMy battery won’t charge to full power only to 70%… I bought a spare battery and it charges to 100% so I know the charger is OK, but apart from that it’s a great little vacuum

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersMy last shark was a corded lift away. My summary of this little cordless gem would be that it’s good but still not a corded pickup!
I do recommend this though to anyone who wants a lightweight, easy to move around the house, easy to empty, super easy to use the hand tools, great hair pick up cordless option. I’m not disappointed, I’m just spoilt and I’d like even more suction!
