Convenient, ‘cos in a small kitchen, doesn’t take up a lot of worktop space. Easy to use and used daily for the carbonated water health benefits.
I had a few isues at first so heres the answer if your water is flat…
PRESS the button right down and hold it in several times and it WILL fizz!!!
Bought for wife who more or less ignores the instructions so blasts far more CO2 into the water than advised by the manufacturer. This carbonates water and increases flatulence.
As a lover of fizzy water does the job simply and brilliantly
Doesn’t carbonate as well as expected, takes several hard pushes, but other than that, a good product.
I don’t find this provides enough carbonation so all drinks seem a bit flat. Over pressure valve seems set to low
My partner loves it! Very simple and easy to use! Tastes great, brings back memories!
Nice to have fizzy water at any time. This however same with 1l bottle which was a bit large so have bought a smaller one. Consider this when purchasing.
his was a present for my father, who loves sparkling water.
it is very easy to use, it doesn’t need electricity or batteries, just the gas one bottle and tap water, even if you as a juice can make the little bubbles!
very worthy
We used to have a SodaStream when I was a child. I did look at them again about ten years ago, with a view of reducing the amount of plastic recycling I was creating, but the available syrups did not peak my interest. The SodaStream Jet was one of the featured Black Friday deals, so I took another look and was delighted to find out that those cheeky chaps at SodaStream have added so! many more ‘proper’ flavours. So this time around, it was a no brainer. The machine itself is very smart, and works perfectly, just as they always did. But it is the fact that I will no longer need to buy all those 2 litre plastic bottles that has made the renewed friendship with SodaStream that much sweeter.
This is great! I love it – so convenient to have an easy supply of sparkling water! The only complaint I have is that I like my water quite fizzy, so I might have overdone it (but I quite enjoyed making bubbles!) and so the first gas canister lasted under a month – but I do use it everyday. I’ll try push down less and see if it’s still bubbly enough, but I’m not sure it’s that cost effective, but it does feel good not to be generating plastic into the world – I see a lot of reviews with people saying it doesn’t work – you have to really push down on the knob to get the gas going – I also at first thought it wasn’t working but just keeping pushing, and if you want the water to taste decent, get yourself a cheap water filter jug from Tesco for 10 quid, makes a difference
Easy to assemble, ever so slightly tricky to screw the bottle in on first few attempts but got the hang pretty quickly. I have only tried carbonating water (as opposed to cola flavours etc) and it’s great. Screw the bottle in, push a button about 5 times (depending on how fizzy you like your water) and it’s done. Looks great too. Only time will tell how long the gas canister will last but I have heard from friends quite a while – obviously depending how much water you drink! Super pleased!
Throw back to the my childhood! Love it as not buying plastic bottles anymore, so environmentally friendlyp. Quite fiddly to screw bottle into place however still glad I got it.
Once I got the hang of using this sodastream properly, I am really pleased with it.
Here is how to use it properly:
Once you have screwed the bottle adequately (not too tight though). Press the button several times and a higher pitched sound, rather like a high pitched raspberry sound, will occur. Leave it for a couple of minutes then press the button again several times until the higher pitched sound occurs again. Leave for a couple of minutes or longer. Slowly press the lever which will enable you to twist the bottle off. Put cap on, and gently turn bottle upside down and watch those bubbles rise. Do this a couple of times at least, then enjoy your carbonated water.
So simple to use, and doesn’t take up much space. Has made a real difference to our carbon footprint in terms of (a) how many times we used to drive to the shops to buy bottles of fizzy water/tonic, and (b) how full our recycling bin used to get with used bottles. Empty gas cylinder can be easily exchanged at Argos.
This arrived early which was great as it was a present. It’s well packaged with clear instructions. It’s very away to use and we recommend getting the cherry and dandilion and burdock flavours as they are excellent. Only draw back is when washing the bottle out, you can’t submerge it as water gets trapped at the bottom.
