Easy to setup and works straight out of the box. Once you plug in the unit finds the drivers it needs and doe the rest.
Very much enjoy a low maintenance experience. Has bee flawless so far, of course I have only had the unit for about two weeks now.
I bought this so my main computer could talk to my wifi printer. I plugged it into the USB and it connected and installed so fast that I missed it doing it! Checked in device manager and there it was working as expected. I’ve had no issues with it and the wifi range seems good. Would recommend.
I was having alot of issues with my previous WiFi adapter and this little small thing has sorted me right out. I can now stream and play games properly with no issues at all which is perfect . I definitely recommend picking this up if you are having any connectivity issues on your laptop or pc.
I will say tho you can come into 1 issue which is the actual finding you WiFi but it is easily resolved 🙂
If you have 5G internet, I recommend buying this antenna because is designed to support 5G, looks great and has easy installation, the only thing is coming without a Bluetooth connection.
This does not work out of the box on modern Macs running Big Sur or Ventura (current Mac OS versions.)
Since 2022 Mac OS Big Sur version and Ventura no longer support software drivers that modify kernel extensions without some workarounds. Luckily I found the open source driver “Wireless USB Big Sur Adapter” on Github and got this working. It does require some work in the Terminal to install and disabling some things that Apple have implemented but in my situation I was OK with making those changes and it works!
Using this adapter has meant that a laptop that had stopped connecting to the internet can get online again. A successful and good value purchase. I haven’t needed to try tech support.
Turn PC on, plug in device and works… I havent had any Down or Up load speeds bottle necking either. If you are a gamer yes you want to have ethernet connection!!! Though i have been in limbo for a month or so and have had to use this USB wireless adapter and its been perfect.
Some advice: prior to this dongle, I had one that would continuously disconnect. It would always disconnect and then instantly reconnect. If this happens to you, consider buying a new dongle, I was dumb and thought it was because my wifi router was downstairs. Until I finally decided to buy a new dongle which fixed this annoying problem. It turns out that my previous dongle, from the start was always broken, it was not the router distance. (I paid no attention to whether the dongle was broken or not because it was brand new but it turns out that even brand new items can have their own issues!)
If you have a problem similar to this, maybe buying a new dongle will be a fix.

A brilliant small wifi adapter that’s perfect for confined spaces, excellent value and arrived within a day. I would recommend this item.
I was honestly a little dubious because my old wireless adaptor had to be attached to my motherboard and came with 3 antennas (mind you this was over a decade ago now). I decided to get a new one and was surprised by how small and cheap and easy this little adaptor was to install. Plugged it into the first USB slot I saw and got it set up in seconds. It comes with a disc for the drivers but it wasn’t needed. Disconnected my old adaptor and my connection was instantly so much better.
I don’t know why I’m so surprised that technology just keeps getting better, but it’s an A+ from me. I only use it for some light gaming, so you might need something more heavy duty for anything more, but from some of the other reviews I think this adaptor will have you covered in most cases.
No CD disk included although the Quick Setup brochure said there was.
However very easy to dowload driver from TL site.
Device was installed faultlessly by Win 10.
Speedtests showed speeds in line with expectations. So far excellent impression.
Will have to see how long the adapter performs like this.

I bought this to try and improve a poor wi-fi signal.
I took a chance at this product.
The delivery was fast and set up was very easy. Within 10 mins of unboxing, it was all set up and working.
My signal is now much improved so I chalk this up as a win.
Once drivers downloaded and installed it works fine. – Without doing this it still works but really badly.
This has replaced a PCIe WiFi card with three antennas and so far is performing better that set up. A good strong signal and it takes up less space
Moved into a new home and my 10 year old Wireless adaptor wasn’t cutting the mustard anymore.

Found this adaptor very easy to install (I’m in my mid seventies). Just inserted the adaptor into the usb port on my tower, then run the cd and followed the on screen instructions. Next I was asked to pair it with my router, (in another room) which I did and it worked straight away. Re-started my pc and all was well. Time will tell if it is reliable, but my old BT Dongle certainly was not.
I went from half the speed I should be getting with Ethernet to it being as if I was right next to the router with this.
Ignore the feedback that talks about CD-ROMS and the like – they relate to a different model I assume – this installed painlessly and runs brilliantly. I work in an old property with thick walls ans the signal is excellent all over.
1 days of usage it seems quite stable for now. Delivers around 250Mbps/50Mbps DL/UL with a virgin media hub 3.0 AC300 router, from 4 meters distance with partially clear sight, which is pretty okay
It’s early days, as I’ve literally just set this up, but so far I’m happy with it – let’s hope it’s as good once I move house and the pc isn’t in the same room as my router any more!
Great speeds and signal works really well with my virgin hub and with tp link its a brand i trust, my old tp link wifi adapter still lives after 3 years but needed a faster/stronger one so bought this, really excellent value for money and gets amazing signal with the antenna even fairly far from the wifi hub. I attached this adapter (TP-Link AC1300) to my laptop’s docking station with a USB extension cable. Installation was plug and play (Windows 10 laptop) and the adapter increased my internet speeds from 40-50 Mb/s to 200Mb/s! I definitely recommend it if you are sitting at a distance form your router.
Works great, but unfortunately can’t seem to get one to work with 5g hotspot after trying various versions, so have to settle for the 2.4ghz version however still very good value for money.
I play a large amount of Online games, mainly League of Legends (LoL), so having decent latency makes me quite happy that the reason I’m bad is not because of lag.
Jokes aside, I have a ~300Mbps down connection and this handles it like a champ, and there’s barely any ping or lag spikes, no packetloss, and no issues really after installation (so far… I have a bad track record with TP-link wifi adapters from before but if you don’t see an edit then assume that it’s been working well since).
It was a major pain to install though. It didn’t immediately plug-and-play like many other reviews, and I had to install the tp-link drivers from the website.
Notice the paradox? Install drivers from a website without having the means to go online? Yeah, good one TP-Link.
Basically, if you don’t have a wired ethernet close by, or have some other means of getting your drivers, you’re screwed. What I did was plug my phone in and use USB tethering, that let me access the wifi. If you can’t do that for whatever reason, I suggest using a different device and using a usb to transfer the driver installation files like that.
Even after installing the drivers though, it refused to connect to my wifi even though it could see it!!! I was thoroughly vexed by now, having restarted my pc about 10 times, but eventually I found out that switching the USB ports fixed it, for some godforsaken reason. If you have a 3.1 USB port, don’t use that one, try to use a blue 3.0 port as apparently they’re not backwards compatible. Eventually, after messing around with USB ports, it now has not acted up since, and connect perfectly fine. I’m not too sure about range, since my router is in the next room, but I’m sure that’s not too bad either, the antennae look real enough.
Followed link in quick start manual (I has an ethernet cable!), searched for Archer T3U Plus, downloaded zip file, extracted it, ran it on my Windows 11 PC.
Connected to router wifi first time, at 5 GHz, and in a usb 3.0 port
(I returned a “similar” dongle yesterday that had a realtek driver, and it was hopeless – USB3 freezes, and usb 2.0 connection was slow to shake hands, and then dropped continuously).

I got this high-gain antenna for a laptop which had problems staying connected to the wifi. So far, I have always been able to stay connected.
In addition, I always seem to be able to get a great signal, whereas the built-in antenna of my laptop would sometimes only get one bar of signal.
Works pretty good with Windows but struggles to make 7mbs with Linux (Which is what I bought it for.
I am a recent Mac convert – although, I’ll admit this was not my choice. My old laptop died and I inherited an old 2008 MacBook Pro from a friend. I refurbed the memory and the drive, just to discover that the wifi card was dodgy. I was reluctant to spend more money on an old piece of tech, but after months of unreliable wifi (sometimes it worked, most of the time it would switch off and refuse to turn back on), I did a bit of research, threw caution to the wind, and decided to give this a go.
It wasn’t as simple as plug and go, but, as someone who knows nothing about Macs, I worked it out. Ignore the CD, it’s very out of date. Instead, I plugged the tiny wee USB in, finally got my wifi to stay on long enough to get to the driver website (link is included on the leaflet), found the driver for OS 10.5, and downloaded it. You may have to override your security settings a couple of times because the driver developer is ‘unknown.’ Once I got past this, it was smooth sailing.
So, here I am, minutes later, online and leaving a 5* review for a piece of kit I should have bought 6 months ago. At least I’ll be more productive now not having to restart multiple times per hour 🙂
This USB WIFI adapter is one of the more expensive ones but it works great for me so far. I used to use a much smaller one which struggled to get a good reception to my computer upstairs but this one does it with no issues. It also not only supports both 2.4 GHZ and 5 GHZ but speeds up to 867 mbps which is great. I can better speeds and reliability using Ethernet but, that’s not practical to use with the router being in a different room.
It’ll vary depending on your setup, location and hardware but on a good day I can get over 800 mbps using this adapter which is 100x better than what I used to get with my old one! I do highly recommend this, especially if you have a router that can support faster speeds over WIFI. As of writing this, I’m currently connected at around 780 mbps.
The drivers were easy enough to install. I used the supplied CD but if you don’t have a DVD drive installed in your computer, the drivers are available on TP-Link’s website.
Woking really well, WiFi can now reach attic room (3 Rd floor literally) very happy with my purchase !
Bought this because the wireless speed on my pc was slow, went from 4.5 mb/s to 106 mb/s download and from 2.8 mb/s to 72 mb/s upload after plugging this in. Setup was easy on Windows 11, just plugged it in and it was ready to use. It’s worth noting that this adapter is bigger than I expected and did not fit properly in the back usb ports while other things are plugged in.
My older wireless dongle didn’t allow me to cast my PC screen. This one does and does a decent job of it. Pointing it so the longer side is facing the TV/Monitor definitely gives a better connection.
Yes the antenna is large, it can be rotated to suit the location of PC.
Its cuts down the need for a mains powered wi-fi booster, which adds latency.
Windows 10 will just detect it automatically and it will just work, no additional software required.
Its works in furthest room in the house, with three to four bars, not bad.

Used this on a desktop PC which is too far from the router and a 100ft ethernet cable running through the house wouldn’t have been appreciated. The wifi speed on it is just as good as it is on native wifi devices (phones and laptops etc) and is reliable enough for online gaming on CS and PUBG. If you are building a pc get one of these instead of spending extra on a wifi motherboard if you’re on a budge
It seems to be working fine, but I did have a few set-up issues, the first two of which are related to the adapter:
1. It didn’t work straight away after plugging it in (as other reviewers have reported).
2. I found the driver installation a bit of a faff.
3. I had to manually disconnect my PC’s current wifi card, as it kept connecting via that instead of via this adapter.
4. My PC only supports 2.4GHz and not the faster 5GHz, so I can only get a max connection speed of 200mbs.
But once I’d figured these little glitches out, it seems to be working fine. I am getting very close to its max (200mps) connection speed, which is nice and pretty good for less than a tenner!
It does its job as expected. However, each time I open the PC I have to remove it and plug again. Computer doesn’t see it after shut down.
I was planning to return this because after the STUCK installation on 90% BS,
I managed to direct windows to the downloaded zip folder, and it said it was installed.
Was getting even worst speeds after of 5-10mbps with the new adaptor.
And after trying several times in different position of the USB extension cord I was just going to return it…
Well MAGICALLY today,
My Link speed went from 86mbps too 325+,
so checked fast.com and I’m now getting over 100mbps…
Now this might be random, so I will keep an eye on it.
If it stays that way, the review will be 4 stars (install getting stuck and never working -1 star),
otherwise I’ll review it as 1 star if I return it.
So, after 1 day of disappointment,
so far so good.
About 4-5x improvement!

Here is my experience having used it for less than 24-hours.
My laptop is fairly old properly over 4-years old it’s a Toshiba Satellite L50D-C-150 with an AMD A8-6410 processor, 8GB DDR3 RAM and a Kingston 128GB SSD running 64-bit Windows 10 Home edition. I use this laptop for banking, writing letters, accounts, kids homework etc. nothing really strenuous. It serves me perfectly for the time being but might upgrade within the next 12-months..
My broadband provider was BT with up to 60Mb fibre however I’ve recently moved to Virgin Media 200Mb.
To measure my broadband speed I use speedtest.net amongst other sites and averaged 40Mb with both BT and Virgin, this never bothered me before as I knew my laptop was old hence didn’t expect much and with BT maxing out at 50Mb on my mobile (Galaxy S20), felt I wasn’t missing out on much. Since moving to Virgin I wanted to utilise the full speed and mulled over purchasing this for some time I finally took the plunge and ordered it on 26th Aug 2021.
Delivery
As a prime member next day delivery is always nice, however this was same day by 10pm which was super good.
Installation
The dongle was plug and play with Windows 10 finding the drivers instantly and setting it up within seconds.
It does come with a CD and instructions, neither were required in my case plus my laptop doesn’t have a CD drive.
Testing
Fyi – The old network card built into the laptop was a Broadcom 802.11n and my laptop is 3 meters from the router in the same room.
I carried out 3 speed tests on both connections (Broadcom and TP-Link) at 9:30pm on 26/08 followed by 3 more at 10am on 27/08 and finally 3 more at 2pm on 27/08, below is the average rounded up.
Broadcom: Ping 16ms | Download 32mbps | Upload 21Mbps
TP-Link: Ping 17ms | Download 134mbps | Upload 21Mbps
Another test I did was to move a 1.93Gb file from the laptop to my NAS and back;
Broadcom — move to NAS: 4.80MB/s (8 minutes)
TP-Link — move to NAS: 7.05MB/s (4 minutes)
Broadcom — move to Laptop: 5.10MB/s (9 minutes)
TP-Link — move to Laptop: 6.00MB/s (5 minutes)
Well I’m pleased with that, I never expected the full 200Mb and maybe I’m doing something wrong to not achieve that but this will suffice. I’m already finding website loading better, connection to my NAS is improved and YouTube videos don’t stutter.
