You can’t go far wrong with Victorinox penknives and tools, and this one is no different. It really is in a league of its own. I own many Leatherman and SOG tools as well, but Victorinox are better engineered. I just wish that I had bought Victorinox first!
I’ve used these for years. The only reason I’ve had more than one is because I occasionally lose them which is very annoying. I work in the events industry and am also a Scout leader. This tool has lived on my belt pretty much every waking hour since I bought my first one which must be getting on for 20 years ago. I tried all the other big makes and frankly none even come close to this. The steel is of excellent quality, the tool is very strong, it’s comfortable to hold, easy to deploy and every single function in it is both useful and fit for purpose. Worth every penny.
Superb multitool, the best in my opinion. Great selection of tools and true Victorinox quality.
Thoroughly recommend this tool!
After looking at many different multi tools from many other brands, I decided on this based on having had Swiss Army knives by victorinox for 35 years and have always found them to be well made and reliable and this is no disappointment. It’s well made, heavy duty, has all the tools I need for everyday tasks and comes in a nice pouch with a belt loop. The main blade is very sharp and the wood saw is good enough to easily saw through 4 inch branches. The pliers are good enough to pull threaded screws from doors and tightening small and medium bolts etc. There are lots of really good multi tools to choose from but if you want a reliable, quality tool that looks very nice at the same time, this is it.
I’ve owned the original one of these for about 30 years and it’s still going strong. It’s probably the single best tool I have ever purchased.
well made , strong metal , no room for extra tools and no cork screw , only good thing it was paid over five months . comes with nice case and fast delivery and the tools lock into place , i got the one with scissors but it also comes in a model with a serrated blade . the search engine is as you no is not as good as ebays and a bit hit and miss . come on amazon …
As expected. the swiss arm multi tool is fantastic. very durable and feels very comfy to handle. would defiantly recommend to people that go camping in the woods and even for people who tinker around as a hobby
The best quality, extremely well made. Fast delivery. Everything exact as it is in description. I would recommend.
Bought this as a gift for my husband. He absolutely loves it and it has been so handy to have! The ruler on the side is really useful, all the tools open very easily and very well designed.
Seems very strong, locking action and ease of use very good. I’ve had swiss army knife all my life and would never think of buying anything else if they was choice of Victorinox. Expensive but is in line with competitors, spending this much money I am confident this will last a lifetime
Leatherman quality does not come close. Stick to Victorinox for a superior product.
What do you want me to say? This thing is sooooooooo good I bought 2. One is for my motorbike one is for everyday (keep in my work bag). To be fair my work one gets more hammer than the other but I’m any case this thing is genuinely quality!
Excellent present! Fantastic quality, all the tools are sharp and well oiled.
This tool is a year old at the time of writing and is as good as the day it was new and has survived a year’s ownership by a kid who only cut herself with it the first day she had it (slightly, 3 times, I’m advised).
My husband had this for his 50 and 16 years later I am buying one for my son 39. Perfec
Bought this 7 years ago. I use it daily and its never let me down. Some of the tools have bent over the years but they bend back so easily. Highly recommended.
These tools do their own talking, I’ve been using them for years, If I didn’t keep losing them I would still have the original on my belt every day
I love it, however, was just about to buy another one and noticed they have doubled in price in 5 years!!!
Probably the best multitool yet invented. Those who say Leatherman beats it have probably not actually used it.
As am owner of many types of knifes I have to say that this was money well spent. I brought this near Christmas and made sure I left it a few months worth for camping trips and general uses before reviewing. Basically it’s the best knife I own and I literally use it for opening or cutting anything. It has everything your probably need or what out of a multitool.
2018 update. Still going strong. The blade is a little soft so it does role the edge easy. But it also sharpens quickly. Use this multitool a lot. Pretty much am EDC item
Much better than an Leatherman higher quality steel better made and cheaper. its a no brainer!
Only have it month now but I’m really impressed. Build quality is extremely high as you would expect from Victorinox. The last Victorinox knife I bought I still have 15 years later so I am confident that I will have this for at least the next 15 years.
Received this product very quickly from Amazon. I bought this by using amazon gift vouchers giving to me at Xmas by my family and I wanted something that I would have for long time and that would remind me of their generosity. Although a wee bit expensive and after looking at many reviews for similar products, I chose this multitool. The build quality is excellent and it is totally functional and I rarely leave home without it on my person or in my kit bag. All the tools on this are so well made it is 100percent worth the money.
Excellent structure. Very strong tool. All accessories with many details in their blades. Need it for outside jobs in the farm.
Just what I needed. A little heavy. Very elegant design which I didn’t expect it due to many functions. Only disadvantage, it doesn’t have tweezers and toothpick. Should have at least the tweezers…
I own two other tools but none af them cover all these funtions in such an elegant and strong structure.
Just buy it you will need it.
I decided to buy the Swiss tool over the ever popular Leatherman because of other online reviews raving about the sheer quantity of the tool, I like it because it’s simple, no gimmicks.
Lovely tool with blades that lock and don’t slice you open if you’re careless. Very very sharp still, but better than a standard pen knife.
Irresistible to most men (and some women) and no surprise.
Victorinox has a reputation for quality
and this item oozes class from every pore.
It feels great in the hand and all the tools are
accessible and look like they mean business.
Go buy one even if you have no pressing need.
After all; it will save all that embarrassing drooling at shop windows.
The quality of this tool the best you can get and it is very useful. Have used it over the years and travelled many nations with it. Between this and my Kelvin23 tool I have covered most jobs.
Very good and pleased with the product ,great quality, the only down side is that is a bit too heavy but great anyway
One of the best multi tools I’ve ever owned, it’s like a rolls roys of multi tools, very classy, well engineered, tough, beefy pliers that will unbolt rusted bolts on Titanic.
There is no point reviewing each tool, they all work and does the job well, Victorinox know what they doing when it comes to multi tools, highly recommended.
Not UK carry friendly due to locking blade but I don’t care, I will have it in my car’s glove box and use it in case of a brake down.
As usual,Victorinox quality shines through. I also own a Leatherman 830685 Charge TTi (directly competing model) which is a beast of a multitool but the Victorinox Swiss Tool X, for me, is in a different league. Both come with a pouch as they are both quite heavy and not really for carrying in pockets.
Points in favor of the Victorinox Swiss Tool X:
– Build quality is superior to the Leatherman. No scraping when opening blades, no sharp or rough edges where there shouldn’t be.
– Feels more comfortable in the hand when applying a lot of force.
– Lower carbon steel means that the components are less likely to snap if used incorrectly. Also less likely to rust.
Points in favor of the Leatherman 830685 Charge TTi:
– Has a bit driver and comes with a few popular sized bits. (Victorinox has a fixed Phillips and flat head screwdriver)
– High carbon steel means it will keep an edge longer than stainless steel but will need to be kept dry and clean to avoid corrosion.
– One-handed blade opening
Personally I prefer the Victorinox, but it depends on what you want the tool for and how you’ll be using it.
Neither are street legal in the UK due to the blade locking mechanisms used in both. If you are carrying this in public make sure you have a legitimate reason.
To the *&^%$ that stole it from me only a couple of months after buying it. Apart from the lack of anti theft device, this was an amazing tool and I’ve missed it so many times since it’s been taken from me.
definitely recommend it, a quality tool
This is a top quality multi tool – this was purchased as a gift as my own has done sterling service daily for around 10 years.
Excellent tool – but it is illegal to carry it in the UK – the lock mechanism on the knife blade renders it illegal – still a good tool – but potentially trouble if circumstances involve any involvement with the long arm of the law
arrived on time- an excellent and well built product- as an ex-soldier and enthusiastic hiker/climber, this is a life saver and is always packed firs
I wanted a pocket knife for little jobs around the house and to take when on holiday and I was really torn between a traditional swiss army knife and this one. I eventually went for this because of the extra tools it offers and sacrificed the portability of the others. I’m so glad I did as this is a brilliant tool and gets used almost daily for little jobs saving me the need to dig the tool box out the cupboard. It is solidly built and all the various tools are strong (and sharp!) and the little leather case it comes in is well made and looks smart.
I would say that it is quite heavy and I wouldn’t wear it on my belt unless I really needed to but that is a sign of the quality construction and materials used. Overall I can’t recommend it enough.
This was a Xmas gift for my fianc and he is delighted with it, it arrived quickly and is excellent quality…thanks!
I own Multi tools from Leatherman,Gerber, and Victorinox. This is the best i own,it’s a hefty beast but it offers a reassuring precision in it’s fit and finish.Best pliers of any multi tool, and pretty much the most useful tool selection you’re going to find on any tool like this.
All multi tools do the same kind of things, this one does them all that bit better.
We selected the Victorinox tool having read reviews that compared it most favourably with other manufacturers’ products. The quality of the delivered product appears to be very good, and we are confident that our clients will be highly satisfied with it.
An extremely well made tool. I compared it to my work mates Leatherman. This was indeed much better made, and everything felt solid.
I have used it multiple times in various situations. The chisel has come in handy in removing stuff from crevices that a normal chisel would not be able to do.
In my opinion this is one of the best full size or heavy duty multi tools I know. Cons – the handles are a little squared off and can become uncomfortable on the hand during long usage, and the stainless finish may be a little slippery at times. The plier head is smaller than those of some competitor tools, but they work. I would like it if they would open a little wider, had more pointed tips, and possibly a wire cutter made from a harder steel. But those are my only complaints and they are minuscule considering what this tool has to offer: A complete set of some of the best designed tools on the market (can opener, awl/drill, scissors for example), a solid and precise locking mechanism, and great workmanship all around. The tools are accessible from the outside (don’t require the pliers to be folded out beforehand). Some people might not like the finger nail grooves to access the tools – they are the same as on any Victorinox and work for me. The leather sheath is ok – mine has a small patch of velcro on the flap which I thought would fail after a while, but I’ve had the tool for over 7 years now and used it a lot, and it still looks almost new. Overall it’s fantastic at a competitive price.
The Swisstoolx ticks all the boxes on the Multi tool heck list for me.
The pliers are substantial and offer both good wire cutting capability and grip.
This version replaces the rescue blade with sissors, which are very practical.
The tools available in this multi tool will be instantly recognisable to anyone who has owned a swiss army knife.
Indeed the rugged construction fit and finish of the parts is what you may expect from a high quality maker like Victorinox. The tools are all acessable from the outside meaning that you do not need to deploy the pliers or “open it up” to get the job done.
Each tool opens individualy with a reassuring snick as the locking mechanism clicks into place, giving you the security that the tool will not fold up on your fingers. One note of Caution here, due to the locking mechanism on the blade, this is Illegal to carry in a public place without “Good Reason”, ie you need it to do your job.
The leather case supplied has a velcro (hook and loop) fastening, the belt loop is substantial but fixed for vertical belt carry only.
Overall this Multi Tool is well worth the price and will serve well in many roles.
I served in the Royal Engineers for 25 years. I have used all the multi-tools that have been introduced and their upgrades. If you want the real deal this is it. This will be my 4th – they neglect to mention the hidden feature – it has legs and walks! I have had Gerbers – ouch! They hurt (bite you) and break easily! The Leatherman is a good tool but it also breaks. I have yet to break a Victorinox – hence the lifetime guarantee – Just keep it close! Don’t get the one with the serrated knife blade – it is dangerously sharp when new but impossible to sharpen when blunt!
