This has proved very popular both with me and my (adult) son who has now ‘take it over’ and wears it daily.
It’s utility and functions are matched by the style which comes from the rich yellow dial with black detailing. Of course it comes from a well-known brand and is very reliable and accurate as you would expect but it is also a great piece of jewellery which really does get noticed!
A great watch, comfortable to wear and — it keeps accurate time!
Whether you use this as a sports watch, with its chronograph and tachymeter, or just wear this Accurist watch as a retro fashion statement, it’s a nice watch, well made with superb accuracy of timekeeping.
The large yellow watch face certainly makes it easy to see the hands and points on the dial, with even the thin second hand being clearly visible. The date feature is also easy to see. The case is black around the bezel, silver stainless steel at the back on your wrist. The leather watch-strap is very smart with its slight padding and yellow stitching. It’s initially stiff, but obviously softens with wear.
It’s very easy to set the time and date using the crown. The two chronographs are for second count and minutes count. Everything is very easy to operate. You might need particularly good eyesight however if you know how to work the tachymeter function. This however is probably more for show and retro effect, as I imagine there are other more technical means of working out speed now. Evidently the critical element is how accurate it is and the Japanese Quartz ensures that this keeps time perfectly, with accuracy down to the second. For me that’s the most important thing and I’ve always found Accurist impressive on that front.
The presentation box from Accurist is nice, so this looks like a classy gift. There are limited instructions that try to cover the range of different Accurist models, but this is very easy to operate in terms of setting the time and using the chronometer features. This is an impressive watch, well-made with superb timekeeping.
I really love having an array of different watches to wear for different occasions and this Accurist Japanese Quartz is a welcome addition to my collection. The Yellow face against the black strap makes for an interesting contrast. The strap is leather, with interesting yellow stitching which looks good against the yellow face.
The Chronograph seems to work perfectly as well, often the chronographs on cheaper watches are the first thing to break, but I would expect the chronograph to be accurate and durable on an Accurist at this price.
The watch is easy to set, standard pull feature on the middle knob adjusts the time and then the day. The watch is also packaged very stylishly, with a push up box and a cushioned material interior to keep the watch safe. Perfect for a gift for Christmas, birthday or any other occasion.

The first thing that strikes you is that bold, yellow and black face.
It looks even better in real life than the photographs.

The features are impressive at its heart the watch has a Japanese Quartz movement.
The Japanese movements are generally considered superior to the rest. This means your watch is accurate.
Ironically a quartz movement like this out performs even the best including my beloved Rolex automatic for accuracy.
The watch looks brilliant bold and, ironically, striking.
That bold yellow face with a black surround enhances the good looks.
The two circular dials at 12 and 6 are tachymeters.
(Now personally I have never used that function nor do I know anyone who has.)
there is a small date window at 3 and the watch has four, bold and great looking Arabic numbers at 2,4,8 and 10.
The Hands are a bold spear points in white with a neat black border.
Matched to the watch is a superior black, Luxury, padded leather strap.
The leather is top quality and means that the strap will take a little time to adjust to your wrists size but should keeps its looks for years.
That leather strap means it will fit most wrists without the need to adjust it as you would with a metal bracelet.
(Often this means a tricky home job or an expensive visit to the Jewellers if you don’t have the ‘nounce’ or tools.)
The watch comes in a smart presentation box which makes it an ideal gift.
So there you have it.
Overall a really good looking and accurate watch.
How could I not award it 5 stars?
The padded black leather strap is stitched at the edges which is more robust than just gluing. The yellow stitching nicely matches the yellow face. The face is covered with mineral glass which is relatively scratch-resistant.
You can buy cheaper watches but this feels well-made and classy.
