This is a class laptop for running multiple work/office programs at once. It is so fast. It looks like a bit of cement and not so ‘cool’ but people that know, know it is powerful. Just look at the specs.
It’s super quick and lighter than it looks for the size. The transfer of information from my last laptop was seamless (including all my .pst files back exactly as on my previous computer!) The battery life is not extensive, but pretty good, I can get 5-6 hours on the move using Wi-Fi the entire time, so that will do fine. I am finding it difficult to adjust to this touch pad as most of the bottom of the pad results in a right click rather than an even split between right and left, but as that’s my only complaint, I can safely say this is all round a super buy. I run my entire business from my laptop, so that’s a real compliment.
My first all – ssd computer. Compared with my old hard drive lap top it is blisteringly fast. It has an unusual appearsance, a bit like concrete (I like it!) and feels nice and sturdy. The E and R on the keyboard are both mirrored but they work as normal. someone complained that the power jack is very small and easily comes out. It just needs a firm push then it is rock solid. The display is very sharp and has a fairly wide viewing angle horizontally and vertically. The audio socket is multi purpose when you plug in you are asked what you connected (in the bottom right corner). This is my first foray into windows 11 and I am still exploring. Overall I am pleased.
Excellent laptop and very fast. Love everything about it except for stupid ‘E’ and ‘R’ keys being reversed. Can’t believe Acer thought it would be a good idea.
This is a no-nonsense, quality PC at a great price. IMHO, Acer offer better value than Dell.
I bought this for my wife and she loves it.
Starts up quick and runs all her programs quickly.
Only downside is there is no card slot, which would have been handy.
All in all a nice laptop.
No problems whatsoever – and I like the ‘eco’ look of this Acer Vero. Performance as good as expected for this decent spec. Backlit keyboard is bright enough to work in a dim room, & keyboard has a nice feel for touchtyping. Not sure why people might think the mirror-image ‘R’ and ‘E’ could be an issue (the keys are the right way round!) …it’s a nice little character touch to do with the eco-friendly marketing of the Vero. The textured grey exterior looks like compressed cardboard (I like it) & is claimed to be ‘post consumer recycled’ plastic.
I have just one negative; The product spec listed the processor as 5Gb, it is 2.9Gb. However, the speed of processing is formidable and Start-Up takes around 10 – 15 seconds. This is also my first exposure to Windows 11. For the first couple of days it was a definite learning process but once familiarised with it I have no problems, certainly no complaints about the OS. I was also pleased that none of my software tools were incompatible and was able to install them very quickly.
All in all I am very impressed by this Laptop, the best I have had up to now and I would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone looking for a capable Laptop.
One final thing, I have seen comments and minor complaints about the reversed E and R keys. Whilst this is unusual, if you are a moderately skilled touch typist it really doesn’t matter, if you are not then you will become accustomed to it very quickly.
I was looking for something powerful for photos hope. It is perfect for the job
Most annoying is the fan noise although this usually only lasts a short time The screen lacks the usual vibrancy of other acer screens and the battery life is shorter than I would expect from an Acer. The battery life doesn’t effect me as I keep it plugged in. The laptop has the appearance of a small paving slab sitting on the desk.
On the plus side it has a large disk capacity and a good CPU. . The screen i’ve got use to but my biggest gripe is the fan noise but overall I’m happy with the purchase.
Love this laptop, and congrats to acer for not loading it with loads of bloatware, keyboard backlight is great. It is completely silent in use and very fast, a great allround laptop.
Very nice medium sized notebook/laptop – however very disappointing to find two keys – E and R in mirror image – i.e. back to front!
WHY????
Great laptop that is ready to use in seconds, powerful enough to run some games too. Would definitely recommend.
The SSD means a really fast startup, in addition the Vero version is a considerable saving on the same machine in traditional black.
I love mine. I enjoy the feel of the recycled casing. Very easy and quick to set up. I like the way it tilts up slightly when you open it, and it’s a very nice keyboard to use. Altogether a very satisfying laptop to use.
Use this for University work and Facebook games; it is easily the best-performing laptop I have ever had. Acer beats Dell any day!!
I have a Dell XPS8900 desktop with 24Gb RAM, a 400 GB SSD main hard drive and a 2TB secondary hard drive. Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-6700K CPU @ 4.00GHz 4.01 GHz. Dell U2414H monitor.
This laptop fires up faster! 12 seconds against 17 seconds!
I am so glad that I bought this laptop. The screen is very high quality and as crystal clear as the desktop.
I highly recommend this toy!!
Bought this laptop to replace my old Lenovo. Very easy to set up, Fast & has lots of new features, really pleased with it.
This laptop boots up from shut down in about 12 seconds and opens my huge CAD software in about the same time. The fairly quiet fan only starts briefly when the CAD is rendering otherwise it’s very quiet. I mostly use the laptop with a newish large monitor but the laptop screen appears to have a higher resolution and gives a better image than the larger screen. The laptop feels rock solid and sturdy but consequently a little heavier than previous laptops I’ve used, but it’s not a problem for me, hopefully it will be capable of taking a few knocks. The SSD loads large files in less than a second, instantly in effect. Battery life could be better, I get about 4 to 5 hours use but I suppose it all hinges on the software/peripheries used. I needed to buy a DVD player for some software I own and I’ll probably get a memory card reader too, so there’s some small extra cost and inconvenience there. Wi-Fi works without issues and keyboard is OK. I would recommend this unit.
Bought this to replace my previous Acer laptop. Don’t need DVD drive and was interested in the recycled factor.
Must say it’s been a cracking purchase. Great performance and excellent quality of video playback.
Able to handle everything I’ve asked of it so far – building websites; playing games; emailing and word processing, all without any issues.
Some annoying changes in Windows 11 which I don’t like, but that’s not the laptops fault.
Would recommend.
Had it a fortnight now. Dead easy to set up, even though I’m not particularly tech literate. Boots up fast and copes with everything I use it for – email, shopping, streaming etc. Just general everyday use. Very happy with it, and knowing that it’s made in part from recycled materials makes it even better!
Had this for nearly a month now – and I’m very impressed!
It’s very fast and, combined with Windows 11, quite a leap forward from my old machine (also and Acer but bought about six years ago and not compatible with Windows 11).
The reversed letter E and R on the keyboard can be quite irritating at first – a gimmick too far in my view but I’m just about used to them now. I quite like the illuminated keyboard.
Windows 11 takes a bit of fathoming but that’s often the case with these updates. It has some features that I really like (such as automatic sizing of documents side by side on screen if you want to work on two, three or four documents at the same time, or read one while working on another).
One thing I hadn’t spotted when I ordered the new laptop was the absence of a VGA 15-pin connector for a digital projector. I know this might be a bit old school, but I’ve had to buy an adapter to continue using the projector I already have with this laptop. Fortunately, I spotted the absence before I had to do a presentation! There’s no DVD writer/player either – but not an issue for me these days.
On balance, I’m really happy with my purchase. I’m slowly fathoming all the changes with functionality and wouldn’t want to go back to my old one now.
