I was a bit nervous about buying a Chromebook but this Acer is great. Perfect for ordinary personal use and for work. Great picture, battery life and attractive to use.
This is my second Acer 513, the first one developed a flashing screen, Amazon replaced it very quickly….however if you live in the EU do not buy from Amazon UK….. it has been virtually impossible to send the faulty machine back, you are left to sort it out yourself, I am surprised Amazon cannot arrange a pick up and return. However, I have done a deal with Amazon but it’s not that satisfactory. The Chromebook is lovely, it is my second chromebook and I would never go back to Windows or Mac, it is super easy to use and quick (for me) I only use it for surfing the internet and email (no gaming) it does everything I need it to do. The screen is nice and bright and clear, I don’t use it as a tablet very often, but I do like the touch screen and this one works fine. Definitely good value for money if you just want a basic easy to operate machine with nothing fancy.
Great size for travel
Never had one before, always had a pc
Very easy to set up and great value for money
Would 100% recommend
I just love it! Best value for money! Smart, quality, touch screen.
*Fast delivery
*Compact & Lightweight
*Fast processing
*Easy to navigate
*Touchscreen overall good but at times can be a little delayed in response
*Battery life: a little disappointing!
Ok, but for me not great!
I have to keep recharging every 6 hours. I think it goes very quickly compared to my previous laptop which when charged to 100% would last up to 12 hours.
Other than that, good value for money
First chromebook and have taken to it well. Really like the touch screen….
I keep forgetting to fold it into a tablet. It’s different to windows that i have used for the last 27 years.
Getting my head around it. A nice little machine.
An almost perfect little Chromebook for those who want something that they can pop into their bag and carry around. It does all the usual Chromebook things, has a nice full-sized keyboard, and a bigger screen (13 inch) than you might expect on a machine of this size. My only grumbles are the rather weak speakers; also, the reviews I’d seen were all from the US and mentioned the backlit keyboard, but the UK version doesn’t have one, which was a bit of a disappointment.
I love this Chromebook – it’s fast, battery lasts all day, and super cheap for what it does (I paid 350). I think it’d be great value for money even without being convertible to a tablet with the touchscreen; that’s just an added bonus to me.
I already own an Acer Chromebook CB514-1H (@ approx250). Very pleased with it so chose to buy my partner a Chromebook.
She wanted a touch screen and a keyboard, so this one seemed to be ok at about 350 and the reviews on the web gave it 4 stars generally. I thought I would get a better machine for her (than mine).
But… The first one wouldn’t set up properly. Just kept hanging. Contacted Acer and Amazon. Amazon were very helpful. Turned out to be a faulty device (!)
Replacement arrived 2 days later (Amazon returns – brilliant service).
The replacement set up a dream. But …. I couldn’t believe how slow it was. (Comparatively speaking).
Using it is OK. Disappointed (and should have noticed) that there is only 1 USB port. Annoyingly, this is on the left hand side, so – for us right handed folks, this means having the mouse cable lying across the work area.
I am happier with my cheaper Acer model, but as this isn’t for me, and my partner is OK with it, then fine. But, If you really want a touch screen / flip device, then it might be worth spending a bit more to ensure that you don’t overlook some basic functionality – as I did.
Great computer, but the USB power lead thing has stopped working. I have tried it with different plug leads and through a process of elimination find that the black box on the cable must be faulty. I don’t want to return the computer, I just want a replacement lead with the black box thing on it. I knew there was a reason to buy stuff like this in a shop.
