When you can get these on offer they are tremendous value for money – I wear them every day and these last longer than a pair of Hunters I tried after my last pair of Aigle boots. Rubber is soft and durable.

These wellies are great for me, only used for dog walking but they are so comfortable.

Very comfortable. I’ve worn them for dog walks for 2 weeks in wet muddy weather and they were great. Too early to say how long they will last.

I should wait before reviewing really because the most important aspect of buying relatively expensive wellies is that they remain in one piece and water-tight at least a year after purchase. However I can comment that they fit me well and are comfortable to walk in (dog walking tends to put miles on wellies that other users might not). Only downside so far is that they are the very devil to get off when slick due to the lack of a heel stub (using the other foot you can hold the other boot down while you pull..). They don’t leak yet which is a plus – and a test not all my previous 5 pairs of various (cheaper) wellies have passed.

A really great pair of wellingtons. They are very comfortable, a good height and appear well made. I’ve had top quality wellingtons in the past but these are the best yet! I would highly recommend

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersI walk dogs twice a day and have historically found that many brands of wellingtons are quite frankly rubbish. After 3-4 months splits occur, or they are uncomfortable.

I was recommended Aigle a while back and the first pair I bought lasted 4 years. I would say that I walk in the wellingtons about 30 miles a week and the wellingtons are used for about 2/3rs of the year. They are also as comfortable as putting on a pair of slippers.

Since Brexit their price has unsurprisingly gone up as they are a French brand. But by using a price tracker it is possible to find reasonable deals.

I vary rarely leave reviews, but I really do rate the Aigle brand as bein excelle

Fitted really well with enough space to allow a thick sock without being tight. Adjustment to calf is very useful and makes sure you are not tight in that area. Very comfortable to walk in and wear for a while. Great quality and worth the extra money.

I went with the reviews and got a 5 even though I am a 5.5/6 (female) my toe nearly touches the end but not quite, I am amazed by how comfy they are, I’m an avid blundstone boot Wearer which are super supportive (in which I also wear a 5 if that helps anyone!) and I was worried about being sloppy in wellies, these are definitely not as sturdy at my B’s but very comfy and don’t slip around like other wellies I’ve tried. Defo worth the extra money

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersThis is a late review as was just checking when I’d bought these boots as have perished slightly and have started to let a bit of water in. I live on a farm and these are used most days in the cooler months for dog walking, mucking out etc. I have just discovered I bought these in 2016 so have lasted me 6 years! Absolutely brilliant and won’t hesitate to purchase again!

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersIf you do a little research then you will find that 3 manufacturer names come up when you are looking at PREMIUM wellingtons.
Forget the British brand ((H)unters as they are now made in China and are not the same quality that they used to be although they have managed to keep the high end price tag.

    BUY FRENCH!!!

Kate Middleton wears one brand (which are very good!)

Aigile are arguably better than Kate’s preferred brand.

These boots cost a small fortune but if you want to be seen wearing probably the best make of boots out there then buy them.

    Comfortable.
    Well made (by hand)

Have had several pairs of these wellies over the years as I’m out walking the dogs every day. I’ve had plantar fasciitis for the past several years due to my job and these wellies give me the support that I need and are extremely comfortable. Having the gusset to loosen or tighten the leg is also a great asset as in the winter I wear fleece lined waterproof trousers which are considerably thicker than normal trousers.

I bought my last pair of Aigle boots in February 2014, and they have lasted very well. But recently the rubber started perishing, so when I was with my dog down at the beach my feet got wet. The new pair are slightly narrower than the previous ones, so squash my toes a bit, but I’m hoping they’ll give a bit with wear. At the moment it’s cold and muddy, so I’m wearing thick socks, so that probably doesn’t help.
I find them very supportive and the soles give good grip. They are quite expensive but if they last as well as my previous ones it works out at less than 20 per year. I highly recommend.

Got these in September so wanted to live in them before reviewing. As most have said, they are a little larger fit in the foot. I ordered a 5 and they were super roomy. I have feet issues, so I was able to insert my prescription insoles and still have enough space for thick socks and toe wriggle room. I’m not convinced about the ‘anti fatigue’ feature, but that could be due to my feet issues. That said, they’re very comfortable. There is no instep, which I was surprised about given the ‘anti fatigue’ claim. That said, I guess not having it is better so you can add your own personalised insoles. The adjustable calf is great but the clips keep coming open if knocked (like walking the dog and she walks into me). I live in my wellies particularly in the wet winter months so did lots of research before investing – they’re not cheap, so was expecting something special and wasn’t disappointed. Used these on the beach, in deep puddles, muddy ground and so far so good. I try to keep them clean and use Swipol to keep the rubber supple. Makes sense to look after them for this price. They’re not thermal, as yesterday proved, but I love mine and would buy again (if the rubber lasts – I’m expecting at least 2 years wear).

Needed as my regular dog walking ones worn out and had me slipping in the muddy tracks.
These are perfect for a non-slip walking wellie.
At first, I found them a little tight across foot area but after bit of use they are now easier and have become very comfortable.
I was worried about the “brown” colour as I thought it might look like a builders wellie – how wrong I was. They look really nice and this would be my future colour choice.
Great wellie, bit pricey – will be able to comment on long wearing in 6-months use

These are my fourth pair of Aigle wellies and my second pair of Parcours. They don’t last that long if you abuse them and I normally do, getting about two years out of a pair before they crack around the bendy bits. I just leave them in the garage dirty then put them on daily for a dog walk where it is hilly, muddy and always wet and filthy – apart from about one month in summer.

They will be pierced by big thorns (but seal again) and the rubber is hardly farmyard or industrial workplace proof. I would say don’t waste your money if you need to stand about in a strong pair of wellies on mainly static stuff or if your daily walk doesn’t involve too much rough terrain… then don’t bother spending too much money on these.

Unfortunately I’ve never found any other wellies that fit me so well or feel so good on the walks so I will have to put up with the guilty expense of these French exports.

    A Tip….

They say that eventually these boots mold to your feet. Don’t waste time. Stand in a hot bath for a few hours then go for a two hundred mile walk. Works for me.

I am a middle aged old bird with wide calves – I struggle to get quality wellingtons for dog walking – I have had several pairs of gents Hunters ( they barely last a year) however Aigle are by far a superior Wellington –
And I had my last pair for around 4 years and I believe I would have had them longer had I not been using them to walk on the beach and I think the salt cracked a crease point – but cost per wear I can’t fault Aigle , these boots I bought via Amazon are a bargain around 40 % less than on the actual Aigle website

I love this brand, and bought my first pair after doing a huge amount of research among fellow dog walkers. My Hunters had split after only a year and I was very disappointed, having paid quite a lot of dosh for them. These are a comparable price, but much better quality. The non-grip sole is perfect for dog walking along muddy tracks in the winter. I think my first pair lasted three winters before splitting in several places and letting in water. I had hoped for longer, but I guess on a price-per-wear basis that’s not bad, as I’m out every morning with the labrador.

These feel like very tough wellies. I especially love the shick- absorbing heel. However, they are way bigger than the size. I take a 6 and thought 5.5 would be good. But even with thick socks, they are still way too big. Feet slip about in them, especially on inclines. That’s really disappointing.

Love my new wellies! My Hunter wellies – that I had for almost 20 years – finally gave up on me. Having read that Hunter quality had gone down, I bought these and have not regretted it all. In fact they are so much more comfortable and warm, and provide more space around the calf for tucked in trousers and thick socks.
Size wise – the sizes are generous ( I am usually a UK size 6 – but the 5.5 are the perfect size for me) and I do need to wear thick socks as they are quite wide.
Could happily wear these for several hours on muddy walks, and I am hoping that the price will reflect how long they will last.

For a lady who takes a 6.5, they are on the large side but since they are unisex, I guess that explains it. Problem solved with insole. Plenty of room for my calves.
Very comfy for dog walking in muddy conditions. Good and long too so jeans stay dry.
Also, not difficult to take off (which has been a problem for me with other wellies!).

I have rated them poorly for warmth but I didn’t want warm wellies as I wanted them for year-round use. This will be the third pair of these aigle wellies I’ve owned and the previous pairs have lasted really well. Obviously this pair is new so I can’t say yet how long they will last. The only reason I needed a new pair is that the heels on my previous pair have started to wear down after about 8 years and I needed some with the best possible grip on the slippery clay ground where I live. My old ones will continue to get some use as my daughters like to borrow them.

  24. Arrow says:

These would have been my third pair. Unfortunately these were faulty so I returned them.
But ordinarily these boots are the most comfortable boots I have ever owned. They are adjustable which is fabulous as I have larger than average calves.
I walk miles in them with our doggies, over all sorts of terrain and in all weather’s, as we live in glorious Cornwall.
I have had issues with reliability, but I am prepared to put up with that as they are like walking in slippers. I have never had cold feet in them either.
In my humble opinion, these are the best boots ever for walking whether with doggies or just pulling on for a quick shopping trip!

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersBought a pair on here for a decent price, a lot more than my old pair of Dunlop wellies but if they last 10 years like they did I’ll be happy.
I’m normally a UK size 10 and the 9.5 (Eur 44) fit perfectly, they’re very comfortable and although I’ve only worn them twice walking the dog for quite a few miles and they felt as comfy as a pair of trainers.
The only minus is they’re a bugger to get off! It doesn’t help I’m getting on a bit but they’re quite fitted around the ankle which helps make them a great fit but if Cinderella wore a pair of these to the ball she wouldn’t have lost one.

We are firm lovers of Aigle wellington boots having both previously had them and got 8+ years out of each pair of boots wearing regularly walking dogs, tending to horses etc. The ISO are warmer but they do take more wrestling with to get on and off (due to Neoprene making them hard to pull off) and have an annoying habit of dragging your socks off your feet when wearing them unless you tuck your trousers into your socks which can make it uncomfortable.

Ordered these as replacement and they arrived next day. Exceptionally good price and look fine (not yet used). For anyone not sure on what colour Bronze is (they looked black on pictures) – Bronze is a very dark green with brown trim – nice traditional looking boot.

I’ve bought these boots a month ago and done a few good long dog walks in them. All I can say I feel really comfortable walking in them. They see quite roomy and I’m normally size 7.5 but bought 7 and feel really good with additional pair of socks. Really pleased with calves adjustments as I have fairly wide calves 40cm and these boots fit perfect and still got some room if I wanted to make them wider. Not sure about longevity yet, fingers cross they’ll last.. I will come back and update the review if anything drastic happens. Thank you.
UPDATE All I’d like to add that 3 tears later with long dog walks on the broads I’ve been very happy with my purchase and my boots are ready to take on some more of those walks in the winter. Amazing quality and durability.

Good quality boot – warm and flexible.Good looking boot – the bronze is a sort of dark green colour – almost so dark it looks dark navy or black sometimes. The only niggle is that because these are handmade the 2 boots are slightly different in fit so for my wife the arch across the top of one foot has more space in one boot than the other – i said send them back but she’s worn them and likes them and has just put a couple of insole back to back (a left + a right) in one boot to reduce the clearance in one boot – it’s worth you carefully checking out that arch across the top of your foot to see if it is different.

Golden Review Award: 15 From Our UsersOk, so these are expensive wellies, and so that you people who are about to buy them can make an informed decision here’s what I really think.
    Cons:
The sizing is off. I am a standard uk size 6/ eu 39 with wide feet, so as there’s no size 6 I got the 6.5. In order I don’t float around in these I’ve had to put in thick insoles and I wear very thick walking socks. That’s fine as I bought these for winter wear.
The calves are huge, so even on the adjustable tightest fit I have to wear leg warmers over my jeans just to make them a reasonable fit. I’m not skinny, just average sized, so these wellies are truly generous!
There is a seam down the back of the heel which catches on me in the right hand boot. I can feel it through thick socks and leg warmers. I did not expect ANY rubbing from such expensive wellies.
    Pros:
These boots are very warm! Though of course that might be due to the layers I need to wear to make them fit!
    The boots look fab!
The foot base is extremely comfortable and I reckon you could wear them all day without having achy cold feet.

In conclusion: if you have fat feet and huge calves then these are definitely the boots for you!
If you don’t, then think carefully about spending this amount on wellies which, whilst they look great, are well, just wellies!
I’ve got them now but I wouldn’t get them again.

I needed boots for winter gardening so chose these, described as ‘work’ wellingtons, which they are. Had a pair of Hunters previously which split after very little use (previous Hunter originals lasted over 20 years!) so would not buy Hunters again. The colour ‘Bronze’ is in fact a very dark bottle green. They are extremely well made and would be robust enough for any outside job, and although I have slim legs I like the side buckle so you can easily get on and off – easier if wearing trousers inside. I would say though that because they are so sturdy, and quite heavy, I am very conscious that I am wearing them – definitely not second skin! They are very roomy too. I chose my shoe size 5 (38) which is about right in the length of the foot, but they are very wide and deep so an extra thick sock over my normal sock is essential. I feel I would like something lighter if used for walking. Overall, a fantastic boot for the purpose and would recommend if you want a strong, sturdy boot. My husband also has a pair and he loves his!

*update* I contacted Aigle, who asked me to contact amazon in regards to the faulty wellies. Amazon, with zero quibble replaced the wellies for free. Aigle have also offered to take back the wellies to inspect them, noting they may replace them for free however, that would involve sending the wellies to France.

I’ve had them 7 months and the rubber has split already. Perhaps I should of applied a supple agent, maybe they dried out whilst stored in the vestibule. I bought a half size too big and my feet and without using larger socks, my feet constantly slipped in the wellies. This wasn’t an issue in winter, where it is common to wear a thicker sock but this limited their use in winter, where a thicker sock lead to sweating horrendously within. Beyond that, they are very comfortable on 10 mile country walks, fitted my large calves and wide feet, and kept me warmer than cheaper wellies.

eally liking my new boots, they are slightly snug on the foot however the next size up was quite a bit larger even though it was only a half size. In hindsight i wish i’d stuck with the larger ones and wore thicker socks with them as come the winter i probably wont be able to use these ones. I do wear wellies all year round so they’ll still get some use. It’s difficult to really tell what they are going to be like until you have walked in them for a while over different terrain. The will take some getting used to as the fit is really different to normal wellie. We did a 2 hour walk in them recently and although and i definitely felt the difference in the ache of my feet afterwards – there wasn’t any compared to my normal wellies. The seem really well made and feel like they will last well but only time will tell. Guess i will just have to buy the larger size for winter wear!

I was looking to buy yet another pair of wellies as I use them regularly for dog walking and go through a pair of wellies each season. Buying these was through a recommendation from a family member who has had her Aigle’s for around 4 years now – and she uses them regularly for dog walking. They arrived as expected and fit as expected. Very comfortable and the grip on the soles are excellent in tackling the muddy paths we have to walk through during the winter and wet months. Nice fit around the ankles as well. Yes they are quite pricey and I have only had them for a short while so cannot comment on robustness of this pair but with the feel and sole grip, I suspect they will last a lot longer than my cheaper wellies, so anticipate that I will get my money back in the longer run.

Golden Review Award: 14 From Our UsersHaving bought Dunlop, and Lowther (cheap off shoot of Hunters) and only managed to get a years use out of them , it seemed like false economy to buy another cheap pair of wellies to walk my Springer in. I was initially sceptical of paying 100 for a footwear , i ve never paid that much for anything that goes on my feet in my life, but seeing as my dog was still young, and had many a walk ahead of me, it seemed like a good investment. I also found that I was developing corns on my feet, due to poor fitting boots, and my chiropodist, warned me off poor fitting footwear altogether. Right from the start these boots felt right. I walk my dog on paths mud, grass, in all weathers, and they have been a godsend, I wouldnt buy any other boot. Not to hot in the summer, and with thermal socks, nice and toasty in the winter. Ive had them for three years now, and admittedly ,I wear walking boots when I can in the warmer months, but walking my dog for an hour a day for half the year…….well you work it out…buy them……you’ll never buy a cheap pair again.

After much umming and ahhing I decided on these for my new wellies. I like to do lots of walking so I need some decent ‘walking wellies’ and high rise hiking boots don’t do it for me when you amble into the next field and it’s a quagmire!

I have to say the quality of these is superb and the adjustable calf buckle is great as I have big calves. However I had a sizing problem. I have very wide feet and normally buy a size 10 even though my feet are 9/9.5 (one of each!) and I have never had problems. I ordered the 10.5 as 10 is not an option for some reason and they were too big so the heel was slipping up and down BUT they were a bit tight across the widest part of my foot. That may have bedded down after a while but if you are going to pay good money for wellies then they need to fit! So sadly returned which is amazingly easy and hassle free with Amazon, extra star for that!

I was also a bit unsure about the lining. Like all wellies I think I would have got cold feet with these but there are the Iso version if you’re worried about that. Personally I would rather pad with extra socks, I like extra socks with wellies anyway so there’s no ‘sock slippage’ but no chance of that with these because they were too long but too narrow for my feet. But that’s a ‘me’ problem.

Great boots, if you get the sizing right I am sure you will love these.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI like to do walking in the countryside, and needed a new pair of wellies. My first point of call was Le Chameau however reading reviews on various forums Agile soon stood above the parapet as the brand to get for a seriously tough whilst stylish set of wellies.

I went for brown as I find this goes with more colours of pants, as well as standing out from the traditional green colour. Straight out of the box you can tell they are high quality and will last a long time.

One main thing I would like to point out is that this is the first set of wellies I can guarantee you CAN walk long distances in without getting sore feet. The cushioned and shock absorbing heal really works, it’s amazing how comfortable they are compared to normal wellies. On your feet they feel like a quality pair of walking boots rather than a bog standard pair of wellies. That makes them perfect for those wanting a versatile piece of footwear you can use all year around.

I would highly recommend these, especially over Hunters or Le Chameau – these are the Rolls Royce of wellies in my opinion, you won’t regret the purchase.

P.s. I found they fit tru to size if not ever so slightly larger which is perfect when wearing I medium thickness pair of walking socks.

I’ve had a many boots over the years, Hunters, Muck Boots and cheap ones. The Hunters split after a few weeks. The muck boots took the skin of my ankles within a few hundred yards and were too heavy for any distance. After reading the reviews I decided to try these Aigle. Straight out the box and after a 3 mile walk with my dog through woodlands and fields i have to say they are great. Light, supple and as comfortable as my well walked in walking boots. They definitely feel as they would be good for walking a lot of miles without any issue. Time will tell whether the rubber ends up cracking and leaking but first impressions are fantastic. One word of advice though, I’m a size 10 shoe and as most boots are on the large side chose the 9.5. These were still a slightly loose fit. OK with very thick socks but would advise going a full size lower.

I have a wide foot and typically take a 43. Tried these on in a local country store, and decided to get a 44 from Amazon, as such the fit is almost perfect with a standard spring-weight boot sock, and these boots seem very comfortable. Only walked about six miles in them yesterday, so maybe the review is a little premature. The boots are exceptionally supple and lead me to think that they would make a poor choice for a light work boot, where something more sturdy would be required. I also have a sneaking suspicion they would not hold up to well to being caught on errant barbed wire– though maybe that’s just me thinking that I should molly-coddle so expensive a pair of, well, **wellies**.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersHaving researched welly options, I decided that as a professional dog walker – with fat calves – I needed a boot that was comfortable and durable. Having decided on Aigle Vario and read the reviews I understood these sized up generously, so as I usually take a 5-5.5 in shoes & a 6 in boots (with thick socks) I opted to purchase the 5.5 size. When they arrived I initially I thought they were too big even with generous socks, but as I added an ‘ortho sole’ to support my foot arch (I have problems with my feet!!) I am now pleased with the extra space as these boots are fairly slim fitting on the foot & ankle. They are a bit ‘long’ in the foot but as I have a fairly high instep I suspect a smaller foot size may have been too tight elsewhere.
Overall, I am very pleased with the boots & am content to have paid for the quality – so long as they last the distance. I am not intending to wear them during the summer months when my walking boots will take over. The rubber is not rigid but light & flexible & the sole is sturdy with the footbed being soft and padded, my ankle and foot do not move about when walking. Maybe, in future, I may consider the ISO version for extra warmth but the reviews put me off the lining!!

After having Hunters for years I was less than impressed with my last pair, so decided to research another brand. Me and my husband walk miles every day with our dogs, he kept getting blisters with his Hunters and I had developed tendinitis in one heel. When these boots arrived straight away you can tell they are well made, the rubber is much softer than Hunters and the sole is more like a hiking boot. Wore them for a 3 mile walk for the first time in rough terrain than was extremely boggy from all the rain. They were so comfortable and warm, I can’t wait to wear them again. I ordered my actual size 5.5 but got a 39 which I think is really a 6, they are perfect for me, roomy enough if I do want to wear a pair of thick socks in winter and if they are a bit too roomy in summer I will just put an insole in (I am an awkward size anyway!)

  41. Moshe47Zrrhktk says:

I am delighted with these boots, they are so comfortable and excellent for 3 x day long muddy & wet dog walks. I worried about the sizing as I am a broad 6 – 6.5 so ordering a 5.5 size (39) seemed crazy. However, they fit perfectly and there is room for an additional pair of socks if I needed them, but I don’t. They have an excellent grip in the mud and on wet ground. I have been wearing cheapies for the past 10 years and buy new ones after 3-6 months (at 15 a go) – the cheapies have wrecked my feet & legs. These ones, although expensive are well worth the money and if you can’t afford them now, save up and get some as they are worth every penny (and I have had no problems with my feet/legs at all). I tried on some Hunters but they felt a bit like the cheapies only more solid, once I tried these on, you know you have a quality welly!

Golden Review Award: 41 From Our UsersBought these, as well as the Regular Parcours. Identical apart from the obvious expansion tab and the logo on the front. Hard wearing rubber and a good fit but… I also bought a pair of Muck Boots Chore for 72 (also Amazon) to compare…. and am keeping the Muck Boots. They were easier to put on and off, the neoprene at the top flexed to allow for jeans/different sized calves (no need for rubber tab), they were SO much more comfortable underfoot – like night and day, and warmer, and a slightly wider tread so I felt more steady when walking over uneven ground. Muck boots were also far more reinforced at the toe (not steel cap) and heel and all round the rubber felt thicker – like it would withstand sharp sticks poking when walking through undergrowth. Nice wellies, but am sending them back and keeping the Muckers!

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice - but Muck Boots are far better!

I chose Aigle in preference to Hunter because reviews suggested that Hunter quality has fallen away in recent times and I wasn’t especially impressed with Hunters that I had seen in a local garden centre. These Aigle boots are in a different class. Superbly made and extremely comfortable, I needed well fitting boots because of foot problems and these have proven to fit the bill very well indeed. I usually wear a size 9.5 shoe and chose the same wellie size which proved to be just right. I wear them with thickish walking socks and the shock absorbency is excellent. The buckle works well and ensures a snug fit. I bought a boot puller at the same time and am glad that I did because they might otherwise be a bit of a pain to pull off but that isn’t, of course, peculiar to Aigle. I have had the boots for just over a year and they are worn whenever I take the dog for a walk in wet and/or muddy weather. We usually walk for around an hour minimum and it is mostly, but not exclusively, on grassy or similar surfaces in the country. Bearing that in mind, tread wear has been very good, noticeable but slight, so I expect them to last a while yet. Aigle also have a video that shows how they are made which, although it sounds a bit sad, is actually quite interesting to watch.

Golden Review Award: 33 From Our UsersWhere have you been all my life !!! This is the first time I have been able to wear full length wellies as I have a large calf (17 inches) they fit perfectly with room to spare for my skinny jeans, like the others on here I say goodbye to Hunters now as their long wellingtons are made for very slim legs only, so I could only wear their short boots.. My new Aigle boots are very comfy to wear even in the warm weather today, I put a pair of cotton socks on with them and walked for 5 miles with my dog. I just love them, no more tying up gaiters and walking boots anymore I just step into these and I am off, so handy at 6 in the morning !!! Thank you so much and Thank you to all the reviewers on here who took the time to comment on these boots as I had given up on trying to find a full length pair of wellingtons until I discovered these on this site. I am very happy and so is my dog as we are now up and out in minutes !!!!

Only just received these wellingtons. I chose them because the newer, but more expensive “2 ” Vario have a better sole. I have started to wear them and found out from other reviews that the foot sizing is generous. As I am a size 5 (38) I ordered size 5 wellingtons and they are fine. The sole had excellent grip and it was surprisingly easy to hosepipe the mud off the lugs on the sole. As I like to tuck my trousers into the wellingtons I went for the Vario style for calf adjustment and it also makes the boots easier to put on and to take off. Colour is a personal choice but I happen to prefer the Noir colour,
Early days but I hope that they will last a long time and I am pleased with the purchase.
