I did not expect too much of this. I bought it for base coating and priming models. But is fully functional and works perfectly. You get a good half hour of constant spraying out of a charge. It is also considerably quieter than my main compressor. Highly recommended.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersI’m a terrible modeller, so let’s get this out the way first. But I fancied dipping my toe in the murky world of airbrushes, but I also didn’t want to spend over 100 for the privilege. Step forth this airbrush.

TLDR – works fine, it is dual-action, probably not the best for fine work, and the battery will run down fast, even if you (probably incredibly dangerously) have it plugged into the charger during use

I read the reviews, with some people saying it was decent, others saying it broke after one use. For me, I’ve used it 3 or 4 times now, on the poor unfortunate WH40K Valkyrie you see on the attached photo. It’s decent. Just know what you’re getting.

I dived straight in and immediately had a shiny, smeary result. Too much water mixed with the paint, too much volume added, and the nozzle was held too close. My fault. I tried again. It covered well and was satisfying to use. Occasionally it got arsey and refused to vapourise the paint, but that was rare, and remixing the contents in the hopper tended to fix the problem.

The battery life isn’t great, I think the promised 25 minutes was a bit optimistic. Using it whilst plugged in extended the life, but is probably not exactly safe or sensible.

I’ve used it and cleaned it a few times, just with hot water being flushed through, and then the brushes and it’s worked well the next time.

You can see from the photo some examples of its use – the grey airframe is all airbrushed on, and the camo is airbrushed over the top. On the tail and left wing, you can see what happens if you just blow it over the top. On the right wing you can see what happens if you use putty or blutac to make edges.

I’m not great at modelling, but overall it works well for the occasional hobby user. If I were to find myself using airbrushes a lot, I would definitely get a proper, decent compressor.

I don’t tend to leave reviews, but in the circumstances of some mixed feedback, I think this might help inform a purchasing decision.

    Decent for the occasional hobbyis

A great starter kit for a beginner like myself, cheap and easy to use. I tried this on a few miniatures using ink and contrast paints and it works great to get smooth gradients. The air compressor is quite and no fuss. Fantastic product!

    Great little starter airbrush

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis is a great little compressor and stores away very compactly while giving you a consistent airflow. Which has been a problem I have had with my old plug in compressor. The airbrush is fine to get started with, as far as I see it your paying for the good compressor and getting a free airbrush with it.

For the space it saves and the sheer convenience of it I would recommend there is soo little set up that you just go straight into painting without having wires trailing everywhere and if you just use the compressor and airbrush it weighs 320grams so if your worried about buying it for someone else just have them hold that weight for a bout 10 mins and see how they get on (have friends with fibro that struggle with hands from time to time and they held it and were OK with it) however airbrush on its own is about 90g and this kit comes with an air hose attachment for additional freedom. As I said would recommend.
