Go quality media player good sound good brand can’t go wrong
Great sound quality and much easier to control than other radios. Colours are very nice and vibrant. Bass is perfect too
Top quality Alpine sound at a bargain price with full Bluetooth audio and phone integration plus a great quality external mic with ample cable length to mount anywhere suitable. Full RGB custom colours for both display and keys allowing you to match any interior lighting. In addition added a all in one alpine subwoofer swe-815 to create a high quality system at a budget cost. Alpine has really wiped all the other competitors out, just based on sound quality alone.
This stereo is absolutely great for the price fantastic upgrade from standard stereo.
I am about as far from a car person as you can get but I managed to install this easily in a 2009 Citroen Berlingo so if that’s the car you’re planning to install it to go for it! Can’t speak for other models though.
The install was literally unplugging from the stock radio and plugging into this one, I think I did need a Car Aerial Adaptor for Car Radio ISO to DIN and radio removal fork things. There’s a great video on youtube specifically for the Berlingo.
Aside from that it was pretty much plug and play, I had ordered a different radio originally but that required wiring and removing panels for the install which I’ve got no idea about.
The only thing I don’t like about the radio is that when the car turns off it’ll stay on for 30 seconds (with the auto-turn-off settings on) which means if you park in the dark and leave your car you’ve got a bright red light shining inside until it turns itself off – To get around this I just unclip it (super easy) and leave it in the glovebox usually.
Used to replace old Kenwood unit in 1995 Defender. Installation was straight forward and was originally disappointed with sound quality but with old Landy there is always a certain amount of back ground noice.
Decided to invest in new Alpine under dashboard speakers and this has transformed the sound quality. This allows the sub woofer and equaliser settings to be optimised for my taste in music. Bluetooth works well to stream music from I-phone and it has the ability to set the backlight colour to your own choice.
Easy fitting like most single din units, can store 2 different phones/handsets in its memory so you dont have to resync bt if 2 different people use the ca
Alpine stereos were the bees nees back in the day for sound quality and they’re still good as eve
Bought to replace the stock radio in a 2012 Toyota Aygo. This thing is an immense improvement over the stock head unit for both sound quality and functionality. The menu system is really straight forward once you get used to it. The external mic included for phone calls clips onto the sun visor nicely and the sound on the other end of the call is crystal clear. The people I’ve called using it so far said they didn’t even realise I was in the car.
Complex setup such as high/low pass filters, detailed sound options, colour customisation and other display settings can be accessed via a comprehensive menu but the basics such as bass, mid, treble and sub levels are easily available at a push of a button making it easy to tweak levels quickly out of the corner your eye without stealing focus from the road.
The head unit offers enough customisation to balance my setup perfectly. I paired it with 2x Pioneer TS-G400s in the dash slots & 2x Pioneer TS-G670s in the front doors running off the head unit’s built in amp, plus a self amplified Alpine SWE-815 8 inch subwoofer in the boot. The result is absolutely phenomenal in my little Aygo, the head unit pushes enough power through the Pioneers to make your ears bleed (with the high pass filter enabled at 120hz ensuring they should never pop even at full blast of course!) and the sub output provides exactly what the SWE-815 needs.
So far bluetooth works flawlessly, pairing to my phone reasonably quickly as soon as I turn on the ignition. I use an Android phone and as this headunit is compatible with Android open accessory 2.0 the play/next/prev/etc buttons control the current media player on the phone (mp3 player, Spotify, etc). The head unit displays the current song title from most media players (including Spotify) and even shows the video title when playing music and podcasts from YouTube (Pssst! Use YouTube through Firefox mobile with an ad-blocker enabled and the “Video Background Play Fix” adon so you can minimise Firefox, have Waze or Google Maps on screen or even completely lock your phone while YouTube continues to play in the background when driving, you’ll thank me later!).
I’d highly recommend this head unit to anyone who wants a top quality bit of kit on a budget.
I bour this to replace a stock BMW head unit. I wasn’t sure how good this would sound given the price but what a surprise. The sound set up options are excellent and separate sub out. Unit is easy to install if you buy the loom adapter for your car. Very easy to use with intuitive controls. At the time I bought this amazon was the cheapest place to buy.
Replaced an old Land Rover Discovery head unit with this, primarily as been an Alpine radio it was a direct replacement without the need for adaptor leads. The sound is excellent and having BT makes it a great upgrade over the old cassette head. Hasn’t got a CD player but as music is played from my phone via BT, I want bothered.
Excellent value at 99 when I purchased it, it was 30 more when I first looked at them. I would recommend anyone in the market for an aftermarket replacement to seriously consider this.
Looks almost period correct in an 90’s car. Colour matched quite well in my e36.
Simple cheap stereo that works well, so far.
The sound is awesome. I only have 2 front factory fitted speakers in my polo and a sub from before which I installed with this head unit. The sound is really good. The factory speakers sound better than with the original head unit. And with only 2 front speakers the sound is still wow. Bluetooth connection is great. Really good at connecting to my phone by just getting into the car and starting it.
Very pleased with this. Upgraded my head unit in my Peugeot 107 along with some focal speakers and it sounds much better, fairly hassle free installation. Nice to have got rid of the tangled up aux cable from my old unit! I was a bit unsure of whether it would function with my android phone as I think I only read about iPhone connectivity, but the bluetooth connection works fine with spotify, and I’m able to skip to the next track with the buttons on the head unit rather than faffing with my phone, so it works better than expected. Very pleased with it.
Installed this in my Pajero mainly for my phone (hands free). also hooked up my echo dot using the aux in connection as I couldn’t connect via bluetooth. Works like a dream.
Would recommend to anyone.
Super product.
Super happy with this purchase – came with all the wires I needed, a mic, spare tool bits, a cage and a fascia panel. I also was able to plug in my subwoofer and WOW! The sound is incredible. I have to have the bass on the lowest setting otherwise my whole body vibrates. It connects via bluetooth almost instantly and you are able to change the LED colour of the buttons AND screen separately. Has presets for different music tones and again that’s all customizable.
Brilliant little head unit wanted a Bluetooth one for ages, sounds great easy to connect your devices to. And the little microphone is actually great for hands free calls it seems to have some sort of noise cancelling so its clear for the person you’re speaking with. Sounds great with my little sub aswell cant wait to install my new speakers aswell would recommend this radio to anyone looking for a good Bluetooth setup im well pleased
Bought this to change the radio in C4 Picasso.Sound quality is amazing,BT connection stable and the added microphone works perfect when making a phone call.Extremly happy and satisfied with Alpine.
What a sound they say it’s their entry model beats the socks off other more expensive ones I have used over the years. Very good quality and clear pulls in radio channels well and your phone is clear to hear and when speaking also connects easily.
Excellent value for the features. Last time I bought an Alpine was 20+ years ago, and much more expensive! The Bluetooth is great, allowing wireless music streaming from newer iPhones. The colour adjustment of the buttons is a very nice feature – you can get a custom colour shade to exactly match your dashboard lights. It also has the important controls for sub-out and lots of audio tweak-ability
Sounds great! Easy to use, even for me! …. you can change the colours too, all in all it does what it says on the tin… Alpine quality… I love it.
Installed and working in under 15 minutes in a Peugeut 107 (hands free upgrade for my daughter’s first car). Hardest part was routing the cable for the mic.
Make sure you swap the red and yellow wires if fitting to a 107/C1/Aygo or the unit will not retain memory when you take out the key.
It works exactly as described what more can I say – a quality product at a sensible price.
This item is much better than the stock stereo that was in my car , fantastic Bluetooth connection ,had an issue getting the extra wiring to suit my car,but that was nothing to do with alpine,,,five star ,,,,but what I found strange ,,I had it for seven weeks in the book and with in two hours of set up I had Amazon review request,,, coincidence or more Amazon snooping on customers
I must be getting old ‘ I remember the day’s you needed Thousands to get sound quality like this. So glad I didn’t go any other way than Alpine for car audio. Can’t loose.
Packaged well with comprehensive instructions and further specifications easily found online.
I chose this unit because the car I have just bought came with an Alpine unit and is also fitted with sub-woofers. After a brief search I found that the connections on the back of this new unit were identical to the old one, so it made sense to keep things simple.
The unit does come with an adaptor cable to connect other existing cabling from different radios, I am not sure how standard it all is, but looks simple enough. I simply used the tools provided to extract the old radio from its slot, unplugged the cables and attached to the new unit and then popped the new unit back. This took less than five minutes.
There is another cable as the 200BT comes with Bluetooth to phone capability and there is a wired microphone to route to a place where you can speak into it. I simply routed it through the side of the radio and mounted the Mic next to the radio on the dash.
Firing up, the unit works perfectly and is reasonably easy to use. You WILL need the instructions to pair your phone as it’s not obvious how to do this, but the pairing went straight in and now I can stream Spotify and use my phone handsfree. The mic works well, at the distance I have put it.
For the price, I have no complaints and would recommend the unit.
Fitted this to a car from 2004 that doesn’t have Bluetooth option.
Lack of CD player not a problem and makes install easy as the smaller unit leaves space for the AudioLeads steering wheel controls adapter.
Can now have my Spotify tunes in a car that was designed before Spotify was even an idea.
I guess the original speakers are now the limiting factor, no plans to change those just yet!
Always loved Alpine, and this head unit does not disappoint. Never had a “mech less” unit before, but since all my stuff is on USB these days, it just made sense. Love the way you can change text and button colours, so many options on this little beauty and of course the sound quality it spot on, I have this running JL C1’s but will add more in time (especially as it has 2 pre-outs) I’m over the moon with my purchase 😉
Had many Alpine head units in the past and fitted many more in a past life as an ICE tech. This one was as simple as all the others, single din fitting and straight onto the wiring loom without any adaptors (2004 Polo 9n1). Bluetooth setup is simple, pair with your smartphone and away you go. Works seamlessly with Spotify on Android and calls are crystal clear, the provided mic is easy to install,it’s just up to you where.I recommend on the a pillar above your head (top right of windscreen). A premium ICE component at a very good price.
Love this head unit, FM/Am radio and fully bluetooth, great sound quality even on standard speakers, the unit is easy to use and work out and has many useful functions, it plugged straight into my 2002 golf tdi only needed an aerial converter (7.99) cant go wrong for the money, I’m very happy with my purchase sold and delivered by Amazon.
Brilliant sound from Alpine, as you would expect. I fitted this into a Citroen C4 Grand Picasso MK1. The aerial in this head unit is DIN, as you would expect and you will also need a patch lead with CAM to keep the steering wheel controls, supported by the jack input on the back of the unit. As an added bonus, this unit supports 2 telephones connected at the same time and will switch between the 2 when receiving calls.
Teamed with Alpine Speakers this was easy to install in my MGF, and was easy to set-up from the menu. I have my mobile and an Alexa Dot (internet tethered through my mobile) both connected by bluetooth. Alexa plays through the car speakers, and an incoming call switches this unit’s sound over to the mobile. Alexa and my mobile both reconnect automatically once the car is started. Very happy with it; sounds great.
