Hard to find a solid tripod w/ a pistol grip mount at a reasonable price. While this isn’t light (7#’s), it will work well for a spotting scope. Legs extend and lock with lever style locks (vs. twist locks). The bag that comes w/ the tripod accepts the entire tripod/pistol grip assembly and included a second mounting plate and allen wrenches to tighten up screws as needed. I’m pretty pleased with this and look forward to trying it out.

Just works holds a fairly large spotting scope well and adjust just fine and holds adjustment,I do only use it at half height in a sitting position, well made and pretty darn sturdy for the money

I purchased this tripod for my Leopold spotting scope. It works perfectly, no adjustments needed. Was good right out of the box! I am very happy with the tripod, and loved the price

This is an incredible value. I’ve worked as a portrait/ wedding photographer in the past, and worked on independent films mostly using medium format or high end digital video gear requiring sturdy equipment to support it’s weight. I usually used a similar designed setup by Bogen / Manfrotto that cost 3x as much as this setup. There are small differences in some parts being plastic instead of metal, but not where I am concerned with wear and tear. Tension changes in the head are Allen wrench based instead of wheel based, but at a savings of 2/3 over the previous named brand, I am seriously impressed. As I mostly shoot for personal reasons these days, I have no doubts that this tripod and head will outlast me.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis is a great tripod. I have been using it for about 3 1/2 years and can say with all honesty that it is much better than described. It is heavy, so its best use is not when hiking, but when in a studio or when not venturing far from your vehicle. I have had a few problems that were due to the fittings not being tightened properly at the factory. Initially, the head didn’t hold much weight, but once I tightened it, the pistol grip head seems to hold up fine. I lost one of the feet while carrying it on location, but I was able to backtrack and found the missing piece. The hook underneath also fell off but I was able to fashion a replacement using a threaded hook from the hardware store. When you buy this, make sure all of those things are tightened the way they should be. I have used multiple other heads on this tripod. Despite being heavy, it is very easy to set up. Also, changing the height, widening the stance, etc are all easy adjustments to make. I’d strongly advise getting a gimbal head for it if you are going to be using heavy gear, but the 11 lb weight limit is EXTREMELY conservative. I think this weight limit is for the head, not for the tripod itself. I recently purchased the Neewer Carbon Fiber Gimbal head, and that has a 30 lb weight limit. I think this thing could easily support that weight with that head. I think this is a generic version of a Ravelli tripod and that version lists a weight limit of 17 lbs. I marked 3 stars for “light weight” because it is heavy. That, however, doesn’t detract from its value because it is a sturdy tripod that is not meant to be that portable.

After writing a 5 star review, I feel it is only right to lower it to 4 because I noticed that no matter how tight I tighten the locking collar, the center post still has about 1/16″ of wiggle room. Now, I can reduce virtually all of the movement and wiggle room by inserting a buffer between the pole and the collar area. I used a very thin piece of hard plastic/vinyl.

If anyone else has any information on this, could you please post it? E.g, did you notice this and what you did to correct it? Or did you return it?

Otherwise, I really like the tripod. The pistol grip is great and holds a heavy camera completely steady. The legs are strong and the tripod is sturdy. It’s a great tripod and still well worth the price.

There’s a set screw to change the Tension on the Ball head pistol grip. Opposite side of the trigger, closer to the base. 3mm Allen wrench.
Seems like a lot of complaints of the ball head falling over. Tightening it up is not in the manual that comes with it that I saw. They could lessen their returns it seems by adding that, or even better putting a sticker on the grip identifying it.
Other issue is there’s a “tighten up” thumb screw where the quick release plates slide in, and there’s no “catch” to keep it from falling out. It’ll still work because of the main “snap in lock”, but won’t be as “vibration proof”. That screw is a M5-0.8 (#10-32 will work too 🙂
Otherwise I’m very happy with it. This is at a multi $100 level value otherwise.
I actually try to shop local, not Amazon, but Amazon often ends up offering nice options like this at a great price.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI’ve had this tripod for 3 years now. I bought it in 2018. I use it specifically for real estate photography. It is a heavy and durable tripod. At first I didn’t like the heaviness, I felt like it was a “pain” to bring to shoots. But I shoot bracketed exposures and I noticed other lightweight tripods would have alot of shake. This tripod was steady all the time even when there was some wind outdoors. I have learned to really love this tripod. The ball head and slim trigger shape allow me to quickly rotate the camera from landscape to portrait to shoot small spaces like bathrooms. I have tried other ballhead triggers that have a pistol grip and feel like the grip gets in the way when I am in those tight spaces. So I actually like this trigger better. I do have to keep a set of various sized allen wrenches in my camera bag because tightening the ballhead is a smaller size, and tightening the tripod legs is another size. I have to tighten the ballhead about once a month, and I do 1-2 shoots a week. The tripod legs I have not had much luck tightening, but it doesn’t affect the use of the tripod for how I use it. The screw holding the camera mounting plate in, I lost immediately, but I managed to find another screw at the hardware store that fit. The mounting plate is not totally flush and tight when you slide it in place, so when I turn the turn the ball head 90 degrees to the side to shoot portrait format, the camera’s weight makes the camera view a little bit off the 90 degree plane, which I just fix later with editing. I’m not worried about the mounting plate falling out, it’s just not as tight as other tripods mounting plates on other tripods I own. I am rough with my equipment. This tripod stays in my trunk and gets all sorts of equipment and groceries piled on it and I’m never worried. Nothing has damaged it. There are foam grips on 2 of the 3 legs, although I kinda wish all 3 legs had foam grips because then I have to orient the tripod to always have the 2 foam grips closest to me. Because the tripod is heavy, the grips just make it easier to carry the tripod around especially when your hands are sweaty. Over the 3 years, the foam grips have slowly migrated upwards, by about an inch, which doesn’t affect my usage, but it visually it just kinda bulges at the top. The clasps on the tripod legs work great and I have not had any issues with them slipping. I wish there was a more comfortable way to carry the fully extended tripod around when my camera is on it. I usually grab both of the foam wrapped legs or I grab the ball head trigger (which is very uncomfortable to hold, maybe because I have very small hands). All in all, this tripod has been my go-to for the last 3 years. I have tried a few other lighter weight tripods and they have not worked for me for the real estate photography that I do. I highly recommend this tripod for those who need a sturdy, stable tripod with no shake.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI’ve only had it a few days but so far I’m impressed with the overall stability of this tripod. It seems to be well-made and very very sturdy. I love the pistol grip. If this holds up for a long time it will be money well spent. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because I think they sent me a returned product. It’s not in bad shape but has a few slight battle scars. Nothing really bad but I’m pretty sure the legs had been extended before I got them. Other than that I really like the tripod and hopefully it will last a long time. By the way it isn’t light but that’s ok for me. I wanted something sturdy so heavy is fine with me.

After using my beloved Manfrotto for 8 years, it was time for a new one. I shoot copywork, and also am going in a trip.to shoot the Milky Way with my kids, so I needed a second tripod and something sturdy and that would give me better leveling function. Overall I’m super impressed with with build and the initial function of the pistol grip. There are multiple levels on the pistol grip, and even a small compass on the tripod itself. My one nitpick is there is a level for when you switch to horizontal position, that level on the pistol grip has no fluid in it whatsoever. When I’m positioning for shooting copywork, that would have made my life a bit easier. That was the one thing that kept this from getting a full five stars, as I see that being a quality assurance issue during production.

Very good value for money. I have to be honest, I want expecting much for 50, but literally the only feature missing from these tripods that would make then a 5* all round is a leg spreader. They feel decent, the trigger grip is nice and sturdy, and the secondary lock on the quick release is a nice touch. There is not 200 difference in value between this and the equivalent Slik/Manfrotto options.

I have a number of lightweight tripods from Manftotto and Gitzo but none of them would really do what I wanted when it comes to mounting, and firmly holding, a 1m track slider with a heavy flywheel. So for the price I thought I would take a punt on this fairly substantial tripod. It’s perfect and I will be buying a second to provide a sturdier base for the other end of the rail. I don’t plan to backpack with this tripod and will mostly use it within a few hundred metres, at the most, from my car so the weight is not relevant to me. The bag, unlike quite a few ‘free’ bags is quite substantial and well made.

The downsides are that it has a non-standard mounting plate on the pistol grip so if the plate gets lost/mislaid the head will become useless, but I will mostly use the tripod without a head or with a Manfrotto head. The hanging hook on the centre column doesn’t look like it would hold much steadying weight with sandbags. The rubber feet give the impression that they may become easily lost, I guess time will tell.

So, if you need a low-price, very heavy, tripod I would highly recommend this.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersHow on earth can Amazon sell this tripod for under $200! It’s super heavy duty overall and the top mount is very solid and strong and has a good weight to it. Best of all the ball action is very smooth and it’s so quick to adjust with the pistol grip. I actually used this with a ceiling mount to hold my projector for outdoor movie nights. I just had to tighten up the hex for the ball head for the extra weight and it’s perfect. I didn’t have any issues with the bag no fitting with the tripod fully assembled. Just make sure all the legs are up and all snug in. Best part to my surprise it came with an extra quick release mount. So you can swap two cameras without swapping the bottom mount. It even has a screw to lock down the mount once its in. I love how you can have rubber or spiked feet and it has a hook for a weight between the legs. AMAZON you knocked this one out of the ball park, good job!

Once you go pistol grip you can never go back. It feels so good to use!
The rest of the stand is also excellent; I love the variety of angles I can position the legs at, its heft, and the fact that I can adjust most every screw to get the perfect amount of resistance. I’m docking a star from its “light weight” rating because while it is a reasonable weight I would not call it light.
The included carrying case is nice as well. I’m to the point where I want to buy this for the photographers in my family!

On the leg angles: there are 3 leg angles you can set: close in for maximum height, a medium setting, and then spread nearly perpendicular. This means you can span distances instead of just standing on a flat surface. Example narrow walkway by a wall. 1-2 legs on walkway, third leg horizontal onto the wall.

The other huge thing is that you can mount the camera underneath the legs to shoot down. In the right orientation this could be quite useful.

One of my favorite buys, enjoying it very much!

I am a believer in a solid Tripod This tripod is well constructed and fairly beefy. I did a lot of research looking for a reasonably priced sturdy tripod. I’m not a young person and wouldn’t want to do a 10 mile hike carrying this but I would to get the right shot. There are so many wimpy lightweight composite tripods out there costing much more than Amazons Basic tripod. I would be afraid to put my Camera on a wimpy. This tripod will hold a decent amount of weight and be rigid on a breezy day. I would buy this tripod again and trust it to hold my thousands of dollars of photo equipment. You can’t come close to a tripod of this caliber for the great cost of this one. A tripod needs to be stout and this is such a bargain. It’s worth more than the asking price. I hope people read the reviews, I did and am very pleased. It also comes with a hefty carrying case and an extra quick change adapter for a second Camera to be attached, more bang for your buck.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThe first of these tripods (still under the Ravelli name)purchased had a thumb screw for the center post, which stripped out after about 1.5 years. I fixed it and all seemed well but still had a tendency to slip (think it was me propping on it). I noticed later that it was being sold under the Amazon Basic name and the center post now had a collar type nut to hold it in position. Purchased the new design and have been impressed with it. Purchased the third set of legs will stay at the studio, the #2 will be kept packed for location/event work and the third will be a backup or chunked in the camper. The legs alone are worth the $60+/-.

Not manfrotto but unbelievably nice for the cost. Minor issue…. but if legs want to retract, tighten those allen screws.

Pistol grip ball head is great for quick changes from portrait to landscape orientation. If your camera drifts, tighten the little allen screw opposite the grip release. It has no problems holding my Canon 6D with battery grip and 70-200 f.4.

Good quality stand that won’t break the bank. It holds my Nikon D3200 firmly, and the pistol grip configuration allows for smooth panning shots. The level and compass are nice add ons to have as well.

The tripod itself is sturdy, easy to adjust, and feels very solid. The only downside to it is the weight, but if you don’t plan to take it up mountains or through swamps, it’s a non-issue. The only real complaint I have with this, is that the actual pistol grip doesn’t fit inside the carry bag with the tripod. It makes it a little inconvenient, but overall it is a good tripod. Do recommend.

    UPDATE:
I’ve taken this on several trips now for filming, and it has held up very nicely. I’ve had it in sand, mud, dirt, you name it, and it keeps taking it. I don’t use the bag for much of anything, as I carry it on my boat or in my truck. It’s probably in the garbage now.

The only “issue” I have found with this tripod is that occasionally the Allen-head screw, the one that keeps the actual pistol grip connected to the ball firmly, will back off. All you have to do is tighten it and it will be good as new. I would recommend putting some blue Loctite on the screw if you have a heavier camera. Overall, still very happy with this tripod.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersI wonder where was Amazon hiding this monster for so many years. If you are looking for a tripod which stands solid and stiff in the price range, this is is the one. I am rating it 4 stars because of the bulky and awkward ‘Pistol Grip’ ball head and would want stress here if you’re OK with buying a separate ball head, your search for a tall and sturdy tripod ends here.

The only flaw is in the Pistol Grip head. The head that comes along is bulky and takes a lot of time to getting used to. I find it very awkward to use for panning shots. It’s really difficult to keep the camera at level or angle. The pistol grip adds an extra 9 inches to an already tall tripod. The movements are jerky. If the tension is tight, you really have to squeeze the grip hard to move it. If the tension is loose, the head may not hold position steady. Sure, they have a screw to adjust the tension, which may be toggled using a hex wrench (included), but is stressful anyways. The extra 9 inches of the ball head also gives a little wobbling movement. Further, the quick release plates on this ball head are proprietary and cannot be used on any other ball head. That is another annoying factor.

Another factor that renders this tripod head useless for panning shots is that the centre column is immovable horizontally. You can slide it up and down to increase or decrease height, but you cannot rotate it horizontally. There is a groove in the column which locks it into place and the column cannot be rotated. Maybe, if the centre column had horizontal mobility, panning shots would have been easier. I call it a plus point as it practically disallows any kind of wobbling by the centre column.

Coming back to ball head. For me, the better solution was to look for another ball head, and I did find one, which now adorns the dandy long legs of this monster (see image). The QR plate and holding clamp is 38mm Arca Swiss design, which makes it easier to switch with other ball heads with similar 38mm shoe clamp, without changing the plate.

Some of the plastics feel a little cheap, but I choose to ignore, because at the end of the day the system stands rock solid and sturdy. Some may criticize it for the weight, but I say the weight is an added advantage for this tripod to stand stiff, especially in windy conditions. I have made bulb ramping long exposures on this stand, without having slightest of blur.

So, if you don’t care about weight and size, and you are OK with spending another 3k+ on a ball head, this is the tripod for you. Buying a separate ball head is basically a minor issue since all other tripod heads included with tripods in this price range are going to be similarly incapable.

P.S. Maybe you will find the pistol grip handy and easy to use, I couldn’t…

Where was Amazon hiding this monster?!!

I just unpacked the tripod and it is much larger and heavier than I expected – BUT this is a good thing for my use. The legs are large in diameter and feel sturdy. This is not a travel tripod but will be great for stationary scene work. I don’t expect any problem using an SLR and long lens. The pistol grip is also large, and heavy, and solid. The levers are nicely made, and there is a safety lock for the head to keep the camera on if the release is pressed. The spikes and large rubber feet look like they can handle any terrain. The ball could be smoother, but I expect it to wear nicely. There are built-in levels, two shoes, and Allen wrenches. The case feels more sturdy than most similar bags, and even has a zipper pocket inside, where the spare shoe and wrenches are found, and a shoulder strap. This seems like a professional tripod and I look forward to using it.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI’m not a professional photographer, so when I searched for “best tripods” I was met with ones which were really expensive. I did some research, looked up tips online and went around shops to find what I was looking for.
The tripod is as solid as a rock. The legs extend to nearly six foot and open out nearly flat. The pistol grip is good, takes a little getting used to but can put the camera into all sorts of angles without moving. Then theres the price, well within in budget for what my needs were. YouTube has some great reviews, you’ll see this Amazon Basic (which is far from the truth) is more or less exactly the same as a model twice the price. Comes with carry bag and key to adjust everything on the tripod. Really happy I bought it.

Just received the tripod today and screwed the pistol grip head onto the legs of the tripod. UNFORTUNATELY the pistol grip head wobbled around without the pistol grip being pushed in. I Solved the issue: There is a 3mm allen screw on the pistol grip. I tightened this screw slightly and now the pistol grip head stays in place until the pistol grip is pushed in and locks in position when the pistol grip is released. This information is NOT in the owners manual, but should be.
I will now try mounting my camera and 500mm telephoto lens to see how the tripod performs.
Also note that tripod comes with 2 pistol grip quick release plates, so that you can pre-mount one on your long telephoto lens collar and one on your camera for when the telephoto lens is not in use.
The vertical shaft of the tripod is also reversible for VERY low angle shots. The pistol grip head can be mounted inside of the leg area and the camera mounted upside down. This is covered in the instruction manual.
Tripod looks to be well made.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersI got this about 9 months ago and it gets a good fair share of use. The tripod works well, and comes with clamps that at first seemed rather loose when I got out to colder weather due to the metal shrinking. It comes with an allen wrench that allows you to tighten the locks. The same goes for the head of the tripod. It always seemed a little loose until I tightened it up some. Once it was all tightened up, it has done me well this winter. It has held up to all the abuse that my adventures and car have put it through. One of the tripod plates doesn’t hold the screw in on it’s own anymore but it still works fine, and a replacement does exist if I ever loose the screw or the plates. On top of that, it comes with two plates which has been useful for carrying two cameras at the same time. I mount one to my film, and the other to my digital and swap them as needed. As of longevity, I’m not going to hold my breath. I haven’t had any real issues, but I do have to tighten the screws every couple of months it seems. It hasn’t increased in frequency, but it does make me wonder. The plate loosing it’s captive screw holder is one of those worries. It works fine though, apparently there is an older version of this which wasn’t as good of quality, so be aware of that when you look at reviews. It works though, and it’s a good option for people who want a stable tripod but it isn’t a commonly used item.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersI wanted another Ravelli 70″ stand but they are no longer available on Amazon. This stand is very similar but has several noticeable differences. First is the bag, which is nice and includes additional interior storage for small items like wrenches. This case is straight vs the Ravelli, which requires perfectly folding the head to fit the angled case. I prefer the angled case because it is more compact.

The latches are similar but different, the rubber caps on the bottoms of the feet are adjustable so that they can reveal spikes for grip on grassy surfaces. I prefer the feel and function of the latches on the Ravelli but this one has the same adjustability.

What surprised me about this stand is that it extends to be a few inches taller than the Ravelli. That feature makes me have to like, keep, and use this stand. I film my band during concerts and needed a tall stand that reaches above the dance floor so that I can film the dancers and the band from a tripod. The build quality of this stand feels like it should last many years.

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersI haven’t gotten outside to use this yet, but I’ve fiddled around with it indoors some (cold weather isn’t fun!). Overall, this is one impressive tripod. It’s taller than my Bogen that I’ve had for ages, and the legs are thicker, too. It’s pretty solid; I’d say it’s more solid than my old Bogen which probably cost over $100 20 years ago.

The head on this thing seems like it will hold more than my Manfrotto 322RC2 joystick head. The trick is to adjust it for the proper tension. More on that below. Speaking of tension, when you have it adjusted to hold a sizable load, you’d better have a pretty strong grip.

I have a Manfrotto 323RC2-type plate on the bottom of my camera, and this quick release design won’t accommodate it. So, I ended up putting my spare Manfrotto plate on top of their quick release plate. Hey, it works! I may tinker with that some more to come up with a better setup. Oh, be sure to tighten the knob on the side of the head so there’s no forward/backward movement in the plate. Just don’t forget to loosen it when you want to remove the plate…and note that it’ll take a couple of good turns of the screw to get it loose enough for the plate to slide off.

There are three level sights on the head. I’m not sure they’re up to the task. They don’t seem to agree with each other. There is also a level sight just above the top of one of the legs. It seems to be accurate. Above another leg is a compass. I didn’t even know it had a compass until the tripod arrived and I started checking out everything. It seems accurate. That’s a handy feature if you’re way off the beaten path.

    PROS:

    Solid

Quick and easy-to-use leg locks – these are quicker and easier than my twist knobs on my old Bogen.

Very affordable compared to most tripods.

    Features:
    compass
grips for handling the legs (especially useful in cold weather)
    carrying bag
    built-in quick release system
rubber feet that can be protracted to expose spikes for digging into the ground
a hook to add weight for even more stability

    CONS:

This is not the lightest tripod/head combo you’ll ever use. It’s not horribly heavy, but it’s not as light as a similar carbon fiber model. Then again, you won’t be buying a carbon fiber tripod anywhere near this price point. If you’re going hiking, I’d highly recommend using the included bag with the shoulder strap.

Disappointing level sights – If your camera has built-in level detection, use that.

This one could be a deal breaker for some. There’s no way to pan from side to side. There’s a workaround on my old Bogen tripod; you just loosen the center column and use that to spin the column in its hole as long as the center column is all the way down. You can’t do that with this tripod; it’s got a groove that locks it into that one position. It will only raise and lower; you can’t turn it at all. The design of this head simply won’t allow it to turn. Of course, the usual workaround would be to put a different head on the legs. You can replace the head as easily as any other tripod since it has the standard 1/4″ bolt.

I gave it four stars because mine had a handful of bolts that weren’t tight. The legs wanted to retract with very little force applied to them. Snugging up the bolts fixed that; they’re very solid now. There’s a bolt on the bottom side of the button that releases the quick release plate. I had to adjust that out a few turns to get the plate to release and slide off. Also, the tension of the head’s grip had to be tightened a bit. Before I adjusted it, there was way too little tension, and putting a camera and small lens on it would be tricky to get it to hold. (There’s a small bolt embedded in the side of the head on the opposite side from the grip.)

Overall, this is a solid (but not light weight) tripod that will cost you way less than most, and do just as good a job if not better. I just hope you don’t have to tweak the bolts to get yours to work like mine did, but it’s still worth it. Considering what I paid for it, it’s definitely worth the price in all of its features and solid construction. If you’re leery of the AmazonBasics name, don’t be. They make some really great stuff for a very reasonable price.
This tripod is just another example of that. It’s going to get a lot of use.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis surely has to be the photographic bargain of the year. I have to admit, given the price I was more than a little sceptical as to the quality of this item. I needn’t have been. The quality is beyond my expectations. I wanted a tall tripod so that I wouldn’t have to use the centre column, and boy is this thing tall. Not only tall but very stable (the whole point of a tripod?). Other reviewers have made comments about the weight being a bit on the heavy side, but I have to say, I didn’t find it to be excessive given the dimensions of this tripod. If I have to say one thing (and this is only a minor complaint) The carry case could do with being fractionally bigger. With the enormous pistol grip head that came with the tripod, it’s a very tight fit. All in all a good quality item for a very reasonable price

Golden Review Award: 9 From Our UsersI have not had it long enough to attest to durability. One video reviewer tore it apart. I don’t trust any review that overuses the word “junk” or “trash” or “great” and “wonderful.” Reviews of this one run the gamut. The basics: for average users it will stay still, give you good height and hold a load of a large, digital SLR. For travel, it is a tad on the heavy side, but I don’t carry it everywhere I go on a trip. I scout first with a smaller camera and if I want more, then I take this more beefy tripod. Yes, as one reviewer said, it’s a good idea to tighten all screws and check them often. Some have complained that the screws and connections were loose on arrival. This was not the case with mine, but I did snug all up a bit out of the box. Check the pocket of the bag were you will find an extra quick change plate.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersIch nutze das Stativ berwiegend mit meiner Sony RX10 III / Aufsteckblitz.

Golden Review Award: 20 From Our UsersI bought the original Amazon Basics tripod around 2 years ago and have loved it. Beefy, solid build that I trust expensive cameras on.

Did I mention cameras? I have two that I use interchangeably and decided that a second tripod would be a godsend even with both cameras wearing the same shoe mount. Sometimes speed is of the essence in what I like to capture….wildlife. But the first line of this tripod was no longer available. So, I bought this one.

It’s still a great tripod, but I knocked a star off because of the plastic parts that are all some sort of metal on my old one. It weighs approx. 1 lb. less than the old one (which is a lot when you’re schlepping around in the woods). The bonus is that the shoes that came with this tripod (they give you two which is unheard of these days) fit both tripods. So, if I want to loan one out to a fellow photographer, I don’t run short on shoes and don’t need to take on off a camera. That’s a major bonus.

And the price. You cannot beat the price for what you get. It does take time to get the ball and head to work the way you want. I sprayed liberally with Tri-flo and then set the screws to the tension I like. I see a lot of reviews mentioning how tight everything works out of the box. Tri-flo is your best
friend when setting up this tripod.

So, Amazon made a few changes to the product and maybe that was necessary because the old one looks identical to the more pricey Ravelli APGL4. Since this is a backup tripod for when I want two cameras going at the same time since each do something different, I’ll live with the lesser plastic parts (until they break?) and be glad that I still have an option to purchase a quality tripod at a reasonable price.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersAttenzione ai dati di targa.
