But := If the bracket could be 1/2 inch further from the wall being a ratchet on the fixings would make installing easier and it might also lie flat to the wall.
This is a very impressive extension cable reel that, I think, will stand up to almost anything that you throw at it. The casing is very strong and the whole thing is designed to be attached to a wall and it will need to be close to the power outlet as the cord supplied is just over 100cm so not especially long. The cable is easy to reel out and it then reels in really well. The length is fantastic, especially if you have a long garden and you need to power your mower etc. I have no doubt that it would also stand up well to commercial use as the plastic casing is incredibly strong. It is also very large so this isn’t an extension cable that will be hidden away anywhere, but that’s ok for me.
Very weighty and chunky, and great for working in a commercial environment. It’s waterproof and seems pretty much damage-proof. Excellent stuff.
Not quite as heavy duty as expected, but still a good, hard-wearing extension cable reel. The yellow colour is helpful, as it makes it more visible. Pleased.

Relatively simple to fit although you can’t get a socket ratchet on the bolts so you have to tighten them with a spanner. Also it’s a little fiddly getting the washers on the right side of the keyhole slots. The cable to the plug is quite short so it needs to be relatively near a socket.
It pulls out easily in use but can be a little tricky getting it to lock. It reels in very smoothly.
This extension cable is very well made and perfect for our shed. It extends up to 10m long, but the only down side I can see is that it only has 1 plug socket on it and it would be lovely to have 2/3/4. It comes on a swivel bracket which is also handy.

It’s good working extension cable, heavy when hold in hands. It should be mounted on the wall within a meter from main socket. It’s big product, takes space so you need to re-think will this is the product you are looking for.
Its 3G1.5 mm x 10 m maximum length H05VV-F cable; max power rating of 230V AC (wound: 800W)(unwound: 2000W); includes a circuit breaker for quick shut down.
The plastic, the casing is made of (polypropylene) is strong and durable.
The hose stopper can be moved forward or backward, depends how much cable you want to be out of casing. Stopper will hold the cable from rolling back inside the case. When we pull the cable and stop at any point, it will stop as well and dont release more cable, nor roll the cable back inside casing. If we finish using it, we pull a but and release, then cable will roll back inside.
Metal holding racket need to be drilled in the wall and from this position we can use the cable.
It can operate only one plug.
This product came in strong box along with manual instruction booklet and mounting tools.
Husband really likes it and already making plans on what he will use it and where hang it, in near future.
Main good thing about it is when we mount it on the wall, we can use only desired length of the cable. With other standard extension leads we “tip over” the excessive cables laying around on the floor. Here, cable is hidden inside casing and well protected.
This product is worth to have in garage. It wont let us down, and in case of electric issues, it can switch of by itself (close circuit) so no device will burn down from it.
I can recomend it.
This is definitely good enough to use on a building site. So heavy weight a lot of people might struggle to lift this.
What am i using this for? Well it works excellently for all the jobs around my house. But I have it in the loft. My loft is huge. And this reel is big enough to cover from one end to the other. Not to mention it can be hung on one of the loft beams.
Some of the features of this include:

Made with high-quality impact resistant material. You can tell this is going to absorb a lot of impact, no doubt it will on a site. I have faith it could stand up to a lot of hard knocks.
It is very compact. Very well designed keeps the cable inside the casing, great for protection but also keeps size to a minimum.

As I’m converting a room into a home studio, I selected this extension cable so I could use power tools and lighting equipment without daisy-chaining household extension cables together (not the safest approach).
So “how was it?” I hear you ask. It’s huge!.
I knew this was from Amazon Commercial but I was still surprised by how large it was. This was my mistake as 10m of cable isn’t going to fit into a little box but I had one of those little handheld reels pictured in my head.
This is robust with thick protected cabling inside a strong casing. It’s quite heavy but for good reason.
Detail and things to note (See pictures):
10m power extension reel with a 3-pin UK plug at one end and a 3-pin socket at the other.
The rubber stop block position can be adjusted by loosening the fixings and repositioning it along the cable.
The reel box has a locking system to hold the cable at your desired length. Pull to extend then allow the cable to move back in slightly until it locks.
There is a metal mounting bracket for bolting the casing to a wall or securing it to a surface for use (bolts and wall plugs were included).
It features a safety cut-off and reset switch to prevent over capacity surge problems.
Final thoughts:
A simple and effective way of extending the reach of my power supply to where I need it while decorating (I may actually use it for my studio lighting as there’s one side of the room that has no sockets).
I’ve had no issues while using it and it has coped with high drain equipment well. I’ve plugged in a multi-socket into the end of it so I get more out of it than the single socket it has.
I’d recommend this for residential decoration or refurb as it should stand up to knocks and scrapes but it’s not very pretty so I’ll be covering it with a painted box when using it when the room is complete.

The cable reel arrived safely, and it comes delivered in a plain and sturdy cardboard box.
The overall quality of the cable wheel is excellent, and I would definitely describe it as heavy duty. The plastic is thick, tough, and easy to wipe down if it gets dirty. The cables are also thick yet remain flexible so you can take it round tight corners. The bracket seems more than strong enough to hold the weight of the reel (8.5kg) and you get two 85mm heavy duty bolts to keep it on the wall or ceiling. The only area I feel the quality is lacking is the plastic socket on the end of the extension, its very thin plastic that you can squeeze with you fingers and it will probably crack if it receives a hard knock, a rubber one would have been much better, I used to have one many years ago and it took a right beating.
The cable reels out very smoothly and you can lock it at pretty much any length you like. To make the cable retract you just pull on it slightly to start the recoil mechanism and it really goes back with some force, the mechanism overall is excellent, and it works brilliantly. When the cable is coiled up its recommended to use no more than 1600 watt through it, but if fully extended you can use the full 3200 watts. The cable reel features a built-in circuit breaker with a reset button. A screwdriver can be used to open the fuse cover to replace the 13A fuse inside.
Overall, my first impressions of this cable reel are excellent, I’m satisfied it’s a good product and pretty much everything about it is heavy duty. If you are after a cable reel for your workshop, shed, garage, etc and you want it to be tough then I think you will be very happy with this one from Amazon commercial. Although I currently don’t have a price for it, I’m more than happy to recommend this item and I feel its worth the full five stars!

Accordingly, a product like this makes a huge difference as not only does it automatically rewind, the cable is completely enclosed within a neat plastic box, which makes it look much neater. Unfortunately, the reel which is supplied with this cable is massive (36cm x 34cm x 16cm) and so it’s not exactly that the cable will be able to be hidden away, when when the reel is positions flat against a wall, using the hinge mechanism provided.
One aspect which did amuse me slightly is that the instructions very firmly insist that the reel is for household use only. Slightly ironic for a product which is branded as AmazonCommercial…
All of the fittings which are required to affix this reel to a wall are provided, principally being 2 x 8cm screws and rawl plugs. The rawl plugs require approximately a 1cm diameter hole so combined with the depth of 8cm, these are pretty substantial fixings. All of this provides an indication of just how heavy this reel is.
This reel contains 20m of electric cable which is rated at 1kw when wound and 2kw when unwound. I’ve only recently understood the reason for this difference but broadly, if a large load is passed through a cable when it is wound, it generates quite a bit of heat and as this can’t effectively dissipate when the cable is wound, it may end up setting fire to itself. A 120cm input power cable is also provided, which means that it will need to be mounted fairly close to a power socket, but I suspect this shouldn’t be an issue given that there is flexibility over where the reel can be mounted.
Finally, the reel comes with an integrated circuit break for added protection, should something go wrong and overall, makes this a great, if rather heavy and bulky, solution to cable management.

This solves the problem I had when trying to mow the lawn, I had to use a mains reel in the garden to power the mower, but because I had the reel end it was a pain in the rear to keep moving it around, now with this I only had the single mains plug socket to consider.
This isn’t a standard mains electrical cable on a reel, this is designed for use installed on the wall, ideally in a garage or workshop area where power may be required in several areas throughout the day but need the cable to be tidied away quickly. I used a bunch of cable ties to fix mine to a metal bar in my garage, its messy but works well.
The cable pulls out on a spring a bit like old school vacuum cleaners with a retractable cable, only without the button, you do it manually, each out though it has quite a powerful spring.
The main reel looks like it would be weatherproof but I think it should be installed indoors.
There is a safety trip button in the centre should southing cause a problem with the circuit. The manual states a maximum load of 1000 watts if the reel is not extended, doubling to 2000 watts if the cable is extended
The bracket and mounting screws & plugs are supplied with it, they are quite heavy duty too, they will need to take the weight of this reel which is quite substantial (8kg at a guess) plus the force of cable pulling out & return.
I like the big cable stopped that is near the end to prevent the plug being damaged when returning to the reel at speed, which it does if you just let go.

We wanted to get a 20m extension cable so we can get to the end of our garden with our electric tools like the strimmer, and it doesn’t hurt to have excess. I was surprised how big this was when it arrived but it is 20m worth of reel so it’s understandable!
Pros:
– Really solid build, definitely heavy-duty
– Strong metal swivel bracket for mounting it to the wall, meaning you can also rotate it out vertically but usually it just lies compact against the wall
– Supplied with 2x10mm wall brackets and bolts for security
– Automatic lock mechanism on the cable spool, it holds the cable at the length you need it and works reliably
– Can easily wrap the cable back up by gently pulling the cable to release the catch which then feeds it back in automatically (but at speed, so best hold onto it – seriously beats a twisty mechanism which would take forever!)
– Has an LED to show when the cable is powered up
– Has a circuit breaker if the cable gets overloaded for any reason
– Compact storage for 20 metres of cable (still big, mind you, but they’ve done a good job at keeping it as small as it can be)
Cons:
– Not waterproof, so must be mounted internally (we’ve mounted it in our utility room)
– Only one plug on the extension cable
This is a great cable and is perfect for easy access for cleaning out the car or using the mower in the garden. This reel’s locking mechanism for the cable also works well so it’s seamless to get wire in and out, a must for this much wire! I’d recommend this to anyone who needs a very long extension cord and wants to mount it for convenience.
Commercial extension cable heavy duty reel is bigger than I realised, this is a heavy-duty item and for commercial use, I misread the advert and thought it was something else!! So, this was a surprise for me. What I will say though is this has been a massive help for us at the moment as it enabled us to have a social distanced drink in my friend’s garden shed as we were able to plug a heater in with the cable and then leave all the doors open and not freeze to death as we couldn’t huddle together like we normally would. Its bigger than I thought it would but if it’s something you need, then pick it up as its great quality.

The mechanism is very powerful and will retract 20m in about 4 secs, so if you just let it go the plug is travelling at high speed by the time it gets to the case housing and the cable will whip anything in its path with some force.
it’s a shame it doesn’t come with a double socket.

This is a very heavy duty extension lead and is a great length. The only downside is that it only has one socket and may be more useful if it had two or three sockets.
Excellent quality commercial extension lead that’s very heavy duty and strong. Super long cable too, the only downside for me is at the time of review I wasn’t able to see full ad details so couldn’t check if this was waterproof – the manual inside of the box states it ‘may not be’ but wanted to check. Because of this I wouldn’t be inclined to leave it outside overnight which does impact the usefulness of this product in my opinion as you will have to lug it indoors after each day – not so bad on DIY projects but if ‘in the trade’ it could be a pain. I’d much prefer to be able to leave it set up saving time and hassle.
Overall though quality is very good and it’s the ideal companion when a power source isn’t readily available.
This is a good, well-made extension reel. It’s heavy-duty, with 1.5mm cable and pulls-out to a 25 metre length. As the label indicates, this can handle up to 2000w when fully extended, although this drops to 1000w when fully wound up.
The casing on this is sturdy and the wall mount extremely strong. It even comes with 2 bolt-headed screws and wrawl plugs for mounting it. This needs to be done within a metre of a mains socket, so plan ahead before drilling mounting holes.
I’ve unfortunately had to drop 1 star as the cable retaining system doesn’t seem to work that well on this. I’ve found it takes several attempts before it’ll locks in place.
Although this is designed for factory or workshop use, I intend to install it under a covered area at the back of my mum’s house. She has a long garden and struggles to get a good length extension to fit down to the bottom. Having it wall-mounted also means that you can operate it one handed; perfect if you have a mobility issue.
I can definitely recommend this. It is rather large though, so I recommend making sure you need the full 25m length before ordering.

I couldn’t quite tell from the display photos exactly how enormous this electrical cable is so hopefully my picture helps. It’s big. I have absolutely no need for an extension lead this big and I no idea where I’m going to put it, apart from “away”. Even if I did put it in the shed or something, it would take up most of the shed.
On the plus side, the cable retraction is excellent quality and I had an enjoyable minute or two pulling the lead out and putting it away. Unfortunately, I’m still left with a cable reel the size and weight of an old crt television that I have no idea what to do with.
This is a really heavy duty cable reel in all senses of the word! My wife couldn’t even pick it up. You get a 20 metre cable (in this example I was sent) plug one end in and then the other end can be pulled out the whole 20 metres with a “female” plug socket on the end – great for those jobs in the garden or car where you need to have a socket a long way from the house. The reel can be afixed to a (garage?) wall with the heavy duty screws and rawl plugs included. Does the job well if heavily!
I got the yellow and black 15 metre version with the UK socket extension and it definitely feels capable of taking the odd knock or two. I’ve included a few photos and short video which I hope you find helpful.
It is rated at 1000 W when fully reeled and 2000 W when fully extended.
The unit can be mounted on a wall if you wish using the supplied hex screws and wall plugs and the hinge gives a good wide range of angle.
Pulling out the cable you can here the mechanism clicking away which stops the cable retracting. When you do want it to retract, if you give the cable a further pull until you hear it stop clicking (it does this every half revolution) and then release carefully, it’ll then be pulled back into the unit. This is quite forceful so you probably don’t want to let go of the cable but help guide it back in to prevent any potential injury or damage to the cable.
The front of the unit has the red circuit breaker reset button if ever called for.
It is not waterproof so is only for indoor/dry use but is a very handy unit if you need to extend electricity to a part where there is no immediate access.
I have to admit, when I ordered this extension reel I had no idea that it was such a heavy-duty, industrial standard one. The item description was not viewable and, as such, a price was not available. I cannot therefore comment on the value for money.
What I can say, is that this is a really good quality, well-made and tough wall-mounted extension lead. It’s a little too heavy-duty for within the home, however it’s perfectly suited to a workshop, garden covered area or covered porch / driveway area. As such, it’s also great for within a small factory environment.
There’s a circuit breaker built in, with clear instructions on the label as to how to use it. It also clearly outlines the maximum wattage that can be used with the cable when fully extended or coiled up; 3200w max.
In terms of the design, the self-retracting system works really well. Pull it out to the required length and the cable locks in place. Pull it and release and it could back with a reassuringly strong tension. The big plastic stop on the cable prevents it pulling too far back.
All-in-all this is a fantastic quality extension reel. The cable length from the unit is only around a metre long, so make sure you locate a suitable socket before fitting it to the wall using the 2 included heavy-duty wrawl plugs and screws.

This comes with the fixings needed to attach it wherever needed, this is more compact than the 2.5mn version so works better in smaller spaces. It has a red light which comes on to show it’s plugged in and working.
