upgraded from a Ryzen 5 3600 to a 5800x, and this CPU is a monster of a processor yes its big brother 5800x3D is hard to pass, but if you’re on a tight budget and you have the opportunity to buy this processor cheap DO IT! paired with some good fast DDR4 ideally above 3600 with some tight timings and you have a solid base to start of building your new pc, and it won’t disappoint.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis CPU was purchased alongside an Aorus B550 Elite V2 motherboard and 16GB of Vengeance DDR4 3600 RAM as un upgrade to my sons ageing Intel i7 3770K system. Does not come with a cooler.

Where before his CPU was not up to task with modern games, now his GPU is firmly the bottleneck of the system with an average CPU usage of 30-40% while the GPU is pegged at 100%

Overall a good little CPU at a stock settings, room for overlocking in the future.

AMD Ryzen AM4 CPUs are very powerful. Very happy with my AMD R7 5700x and AMD R9 5900x also I have got AMD R7 5800H in my Gaming Laptop and AMD R7 5700G in mini Gaming PC. AMD is overtaking Intel that’s for sure! Fantastic performance. Previously I had to return AMD Ryzen 7 5800x because it was overheating and not performing well. but all good now with my AMD R7 5700x

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersIt says it in the description, but apparently I am blind.
    Bought the 5700X.
I am using the cooler that was on my 3200G, (Wraith Stealth,) and it’s doing an adequate job, but I’m sure I will need something better if I want to get the most out of it.

Other than that it is excellent value for money.

I upgraded from a Rysen 5 3600 to this and the performance is amazing it runs everything great matched with my rtx 2070 the only issue I didn’t know about before hand was that it runs very hot but after doing research that’s just how the processor is and it hasn’t impacted it after a few months use. It’s also very good for the money.

I made the title this because this is the second time ordering a AMD ryzen 9 5900x. I have to get in contact with amazon customer services as I received mine on the 9th and in the amazon box was a empty AMD box, the CPU was missing. But thank to amazon quick service they were able to refund me my amount to get a new one and it came on the 10th, luckily was all there and is working amazingly well just a shame had to go though the hassle.

This is a great performing chip for the price – but in the current environment I also chose it because it is only 65W for an 8 core processor. It is cool and cheap to run. Highly recommended.

Nice upgrade to older 3600x, while keeping the same motherboard (needs BIOS update, check manufacturer). Will recommend backing up or cloning your system drive prior to install, as you may need to reinstall windows after fiddling with all the Bios settings

I am so happy with my purchase of the AMD Ryzen 7 5800X Processor! It is a beast of a CPU that can handle anything I throw at it. It runs fast, smooth and cool, AMD Ryzen 7 5800X is the best CPU I have ever used, I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a powerful and reliable processor.

This provides a high level of power for the price, and it arguably isn’t worth the extra money for the 5950x. Although, it does get quite hot – even at idle – and I have slightly undervolted my own CPU to reduce these temperatures, which has allowed it to boost to 4.8GHz for longer, which has surpisingly given better results in benchmarks – surprising since less power supplied = less power output. Great processor, has worked amazingly for me.

This is a slightly older Zen 2 based chip (even though its a newish release), and therefore a little slower than the other Ryzens, but it is very cheap.

I used it in a system I built for my mum and its completely fine for every day use, since almost any retail CPU sold today is overkill for an internet PC.

Im usually an Intel buyer but they have nothing for this price thats readily available.

Looking at many reviewers saying the 5600 is a better cpu, blah, blah, blah. I chose this one. Its REALLY fast for the price and still supports SAM (smart acess memory) which i was supprised to see. Its got really good speeds for the price vs intels offerings, 6 cores, and can reach 4Ghz. If you need to save money on a build, don’t hesitate to get this cpu.

I upgraded from an Athlon 200GE so the Ryzen was always going to be better, but the basic improvement is incredible. So much quicker and I now complete tasks so quicker. For the price it is a superb CPU.
I don’t play too many demanding games so cannot comment on that aspect.
CPU is generally quiet as well. I’ve had no problems since installation.
The only difference is that the fan now screw into the motherboard instead of using the clip bracket.

I can run Fortnite valorant , Roblox, apex legend and COD on max settings without any issues or cpu overheating. I was on a budget building a pc and this was the best spec cpu and best price I could find and I would also recommend it to users who intend to use their pc on just gaming not steaming + editing however overall it is very good!

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersGot the R7 5800x and using a artic freezer 34 and a H510 silent case and damn don’t.

My pc is going to 90C and it’s burning up.

If you are getting this CPU please be advised that you need a good case with good airflow and a AIO or a double heatsink (top end type coolers)

Because even playing max setting with miles morales and near max settings on. Cyberpunk 2077 it’s on 90C and even cinebench multicore 14000 points and that’s at 91C

And I even undervolted it and eco mode it and it’s using alot of power.

    So Airflow is the key.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersThis was bought as an upgrade for my desktop which I rebuilt in 2017 with a Ryzen 5 1600 6-Core CPU, which back then cost 200.

The Ryzen 7 5700G cost me less than my original CPU, so I can safely say CPU prices are less crazy now than 6 years ago (at the time of writing this).

I’ve gained an extra 2 cores/4-threads, and a secondary, integrated GPU, which is always good as a backup. This may provide more useful in the future as more games add Multi-GPU support via DirectX 12 and Vulkan.

CPU power consumption is the same as my old Ryzen 5 1600, at 65W. However, if you fire up the integrated GPU it will add on another 20 – 30W, which is actually not bad considering it’s a down-scaled Vega 8 GPU.

Overall, I think its a well-priced (161 at the time of writing) upgrade if you’re coming from the previous generation of 6-Core Ryzen 5 CPUs. Highly recommended.

This is a slightly older processor now which is why I was able to purchase at a discount. It’s extremely fast due to the large number of cores. Great purchase, highly recommended.

Keep in mind that this CPU does not come with its own cooler. Initially I was using the risen wraith cooler which shipped with my old CPU and the thermals were not great. Such a powerful CPU has the potential to run hot.

You’ll possible want to consider purchasing a reasonable liquid cooler to go with this CPU along with some decent thermal paste to get the best results. So keep in mind there will be some extra expenses if you want to maximise the value of this.

You should also know that this CPU did not work out of the box with my Asus B150m-k ii motherboard. I was getting a black screen only. It was necessary to flash a firmware updated to the motherboard. This turned out to not be as difficult as it might sound, but just be aware that there are extra steps to get this CPU working with some motherboards.

I finally bit the bullett and upgraded my AM4 platform for the final time with the 5700X. Having started with a 2600 and later a 3600 this 5700X is an amazing bargain for an 8 core cpu in mid 2023.
AM5 as a whole platform upgrade is a massive investment and for the price point there are extremely good Intel alternatives. If like me you still run AM4 and have previous generation cpu’s the Zen 3 5700X brings the best of what AM4 could offer. Sure its not the top of the range cpu but as an all round multi tasker and gaming cpu its very solid paired with a mid tier gpu. It’s 65w tdp ensures energy efficiency compared to the 5800X with a tiny margin between them. It is possible to overclock it to match 5800X performance by simply turning on PBO2. Just make sure your motherboard has the latest Bios and will support Zen 3 cpu’s.
So far I’m really happy with this cpu and should be good for a few more years until AM5 is more mature and more importantly cheaper for the whole system upgrade.

Used this to make a tiny ITX PC. Has plenty of performance for everyday tasks and the built in graphics are good enough for modest gaming. I’ve been enjoying Cities:Skylines and Two Point Hospital on it, neither are particularly demanding by modern standards, but you should be able to get most games to work playable on this CPU. Included box cooler is fine too, not too loud.

I had read the reviews from the manufacturer and the supplier regarding this processor. They all said as ro how good it was. The majority of purchaser reviews was from gamers. Stating how good it made games to play. I needed it for programs that I needed to run.
Well I have to admit, the reviews and what the manufacturer had yo say about the processor were all true and it is a brilliant unit. I can’t believe ad to how much it has sped up my pc. I will hold hand up and say that I understand all of the tech jargon associated with this unit. I picked it on what was said in lay man’s English, which made me choose the unit. I did watch several videos on it’s performance and what it can do. I was completely sold on the unit upon watching the videos. I can now run my programs that made my pc slow right down or cause a severe lag. Running these are now at total breeze. It’s performance is exceptional.
I recently update a lit of components on my pc. I am so glad that I did. Buying this processor has been one of my best ever buys. If you are caught in 2 minds as to whether to buy it, then I would take the chance, you won’t regret it.
The only thing I can say that other buyers need to be aware of is that this does run quite hot. I would look into which type of cooler is the heat to run with it. There are double fans with a cooling radiator in between them or there are water pumped coolers. Read into which you would prefer to use. If you have a midi case like I have then the double fan will not fit as there is not enough room. It will fit but with only one fan attached to its heat sink.
I would not hesitate in recommending this processo

Upgrade from 2700x And I cant see massive improvement just a faster rendering time but that’s pretty much it. Its a comment from a user perspective not the guy who runs every single test and looks at every change in numbers. Plus its hotter my 2700x was running 26-45 celsius. Now its 40-60 on average as well very high change in MHZ. So 2700 was running continuously on 4mhz 4.2 at tops. When this runs 3.9 and the shoots up to 4.9mhz and the goes up and back up and back. No OC were made just a Default setting. For cooling Im using Noctua tower. Great if you have broken system and looking for upgrade in AM4 chip world. Or waiting till AM5 chip systems will work stable. But would not recommend to get it just as an upgrade search for some ways to improve your system and leave chip set last.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersBought 5700x to squize more juices from my small gaming PC, after upgrading GPU to 3660ti. Before I had Ryzen 2600 and after replacing it on to 5700x, the first thing I found was noticeable difference in thermal data: my 2600 has never went above 72C, playing Cyberpunk, when 5700x raised 91C after less then an hour if gaming and won’t stoped there! Keep in mind than I was using not stock cooler, but Noctua NH-L9x65.
Fortunately I was able to find a few threads , regarding undervolting 5000 Ryzen series, using smart Curve optimisation, BIOS feature (luckily my mini B450i motherboard have sufficient update for it). Settin this parameter to -28 for all cores and manualy chosing the new value for PBO settings + setting all of the fans fir 100%, after the temperature in CPU raising 70C, I was able to achieve stable 72-77C, playing Cyberpunk 2077 (2K, Ultra, DLSS Balanced -15, Raytracing Psycho) with avarage 40fps!
Really happy with this CPU! Keep in mind it’s avarage running temperature, if you are planning to use in compact builds, like me. It’s 65w CPU, so 5800x ir 5900x will be running even hotter, as they are 115w. Another words, this one seems to be the best option for compact PCs, which can still be tunned to be runned under 80C with the most heaviest game titles.

Great cpu though I’m not using the integrated graphics on the chip and it works great

One thing to note make sure your cpu and motherboard is compatible as I have had many people saying this does not work
If its to upgrade your existing cpu and it is compatible but after installing the cpu the system refuses to boot your OS that likely means you will need to put the old cpu back in and flash the bios version to an updated version with added compatibility this information can be found from your motherboards manufacturer and there are many YouTube videos showing how to flash the bios safely

For the price, you get a lot of performance and a relatively decent integrated GPU. I would keep in mind that the included cooler is barely sufficient, it runs 86c max under cinebench R23, I tried the included paste and also tried my MX-4 paste, no real difference. Also noisy. Under most circumstances it will not run this hot however. If you have the extra 15-20 it is worth it to buy a better cooler, doesn’t have to be anything fancy, just something better than the included cooler. But the included cooler will do the job.

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersYour cpu could net you more fps than a gpu upgrade ! I upgraded from a r5 1600 to this on a b350 , with current pc parts pricing this has been one of the best performance per Iv got from my computer. On avarage from first gen most games I played saw atleast 30% increases in performance and at the top end of things I saw gains of over 70% in cpu intense games, also because it’s 8 core and fast multi tasking it sweet and never botheres it. Made my pc relavent again for the next few years . If your on a 1000 or 2000 series ryzen cpu this is a no brainer , you will see huge performance increases in whatever you use your pc for. For reference I have a evga clc240 which is 7 years old and this cpu is still only hitting 80 under heavy stress tests, in normal realistic use Iv never seen temps above 60-65 so it’s not that hot of a cpu either, it’s nice to see how clever these new CPU’s are with boosting and core use. Also nice on energy under light loads it hardly used any power . 5 stars and would reccoment to any AM4 owner or a older ryzen chip

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersNot a bad bit of kit over all.
So I bought this as an upgrade for my ancient PC that had and A series chip. Ended up basically building my 1st ever pc. As being on somewhat of a budget this was within that, however I wish I purchased the 5800x version I stead that went on sale but didn’t know better back then. The description of this item (r7 5700g) I think, needs to be a bit more clear, specially for 1st time buyers.
The 5700g does come with a heatsink and a wraith fan so at least you can set it up and go. It also has an integrated graphics as well if you cant afford to get a gpu just yet. Its not great but at least it’s there.
Performance wise, I mainly do blender work and it is a very noticeable improvement, especially paired with a gpu.
All in all it’s an ok buy, but if you can help it and it’s on sale try to go for 5800x versio

Love this CPU. Only 5% slower than the Ryzen 7 5800X which is great value for the price. Upgraded from my humble Ryzen 7 1700. This was straight forward, just by swapping out the CPU on on my Asus X370 motherboard, which only required a Bios upgrade. Does not come with a fan but you can use the existing fan as the TDP (65W) of this processor is the same as the old one, so you can use the same fan.

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersI got this for around 200 quid for my first pc build and for what your getting I believe that is a very good price if we are talking price to performance. also for my CPU I haven’t touched anything in the bios apart for changing my memory speed to its advertised ranges so when I checked what speed my CPU was going 4.7ghz I was confused as I hadn’t touched anything yet and the temperatures seemed relatively normal and after doing a bit of research what I have found is since I added a extra 4 pin power cable to my mother board for CPU power boost mode on the CPU was just automatically turned on if the temperatures were stable. now this leads me to one of the main reasons I’m giving this CPU high praise
its simple to install and set up
it automatically will use boost mode if the temperatures are good and has access to enough power
and so far with a relatively basic cooling set up for my case (4 fans and 240mm aio) + a 3080 and no matter what I do the temperatures haven’t gone over 65 degrees no matter what I throw at it (and id like to specify this is with my fans only going up to about 60% around 60 degrees) WHILE running at 4.7 GHz FOR ONLY 200!?!?! that’s very VERY good value in my eyes.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersI recently purchased the AMD Ryzen 7 5800X and let me tell you, I am blown away by its performance. As a content creator and gamer, I needed a processor that could handle demanding tasks and this one definitely delivers.

One of the things I love about the Ryzen 7 5800X is its 8 cores and 16 threads. It makes multitasking a breeze and I can easily run multiple programs at the same time without any lag. And with its high clock speed, it’s perfect for gaming and content creation.

The Ryzen 7 5800X also comes with an AMD X570 chipset, which provides fast storage options and the Precision Boost 2 technology adjusts the processor’s speed based on what I’m doing, so I always get the best performance possible.

I was also pleasantly surprised by the Ryzen 7 5800X’s efficiency. It has a TDP of only 65W, so it doesn’t consume a lot of power and my system runs quietly.

When it comes to gaming, the Ryzen 7 5800X is a dream come true. I can play even the most demanding games at high frame rates and resolutions without any lag or stuttering. And if I want to stream or record my gameplay, this processor has got me covered.

In conclusion, I highly recommend the AMD Ryzen 7 5800X to anyone looking for a powerful and reliable processor. It offers fast performance, efficient power consumption, and support for fast storage options, making it a great choice for content creators and gamers alike.

The IPC and clock speed advantage from going from Ryzen 2000 to 5000 was defiantly noticeable and the desktop experience was also noticeable smoother in addition to the noticeable improvement in frame times in the games I play. Something to note is that a cooler is not include even though the box looks like there may be a cooler inside but I ordered a 3rd party cooler so its something you will need to consider if you purchase one aswell. PBO(Precision Boost Overdrive) out of the box for me takes me to 4.65 Ghz single core and its 4 GHz all core from stress testing and benchmarking.

The Ryzen 7 5800X is a fantastic CPU that offers top-notch performance for its price. With 8 cores and 16 threads, it delivers fast and smooth multitasking, making it ideal for demanding tasks such as video editing, gaming, and content creation. The 5800X is built on AMD’s latest Zen 3 architecture, which delivers significant improvements in both performance and efficiency. The CPU’s base clock speed of 3.8 GHz is also impressive and can be boosted up to 4.7 GHz, providing plenty of power for demanding applications. Overall, the Ryzen 7 5800X is a top-notch choice

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersA great upgrade from my R5 2400G doubling the core and thread, while staying on 65w TDP on my 5 year old AM4 B350 Gigabyte AB350 Gaming 3 Motherboard. My old R5 2400G has 4MB on L3 cache vs 32MB L3 cache on this 5700X, and the latter is great for gaming and I got increases in performance in BF2042 and COD MW2/Warzone 2 as well as strategy games like Frostpunk, Civ6 etc. I expect to keep this CPU for 5-10 years and just upgrade the GPU.

On Cinebench, the 5700X was roughly 3 times quicker than the old 2400G so for productivity, and cpu intensive graphics programs like ZBrush, the 5700X will be fine for the money.

Golden Review Award: 12 From Our UsersI was waiting for the price of 16 core Ryzen to drop ( drastically ) , but then this ryzen 9 , 12 core was offered at an attractive price.

(Very ) Easy install into [ASUS-TUFGaming-B450-Plus-II] mobo, with a stock wraith cooler, with two M2 drives , and 64 GB or RAM ( which is the max supported by this board) . The mobo required a bios update to support this, then everything just worked.

First thing, I do not use this for gaming ( and my graphics card is several years old anyway ) , primarily for development business software purposes.

Installed windows 11 x64 without any issues.

The CPU runs at idle for the background tasks, with average CPU core temperature between 50 – 55 degrees centigrade.

Installed sql server 2022 from the M2 drive. This took less than 5 minutes, which is incredible, as this process typically takes over 30 minutes .

Installing other business development tools was completed in record time, although this is aided hugely by the M2 drives ( 3.5GB / s allegedly ) . If you want to really take advantage of the capabilities of this CPU, you need M2 drives , not spinny disks, otherwise the CPU will spend much of its life in a wait state for data.

Installed Asus Armoury crate which provides comprehensive feedback on the hardware.

The CPU runs between 3.5 – 4.5 Ghz ( does not really matter that much with this many cores) .

For the price, cannot fault the processor

The one thing that is a minor issue is windows 11, which does not always play nicely with drivers. By default need to install all the supplied drivers from asus ( including bios updates ) , then should be okay.

So far, this is the smoothest processor that I have installed, and I have used AMD for several years now

Would recommend ( if you can purchase from a reputable vendor , rather than stock pilers )
