Big plus is that it’s fan-less. so no fan noise. there are 2 problems.. 1. sound.. lots of hissing noise. The worst quality sound of any laptop i’ve had even though the sound is by harman kardon. had to connect to a bluetooth speaker. 2. When the keyboard backlit light is on you can’t see the characters.. you need to switch it off during daylight. The rest of the package is great.

We bought this laptop to edit videos for YouTube and no matter what we did, we could not get Kinrmaster to work. We even spoke to the app developer, who created the app and despite the amount of help he offered, we still couldn’t get it to work and it kept freezing. It’s become worse than toothache. It may be excellent for some but it was a great disappointment to us, we really thought that spending 800 would get us the best (in this price bracket anyway) but it just didn’t work for us. I would keep this issue we have had in mind if you are purchasing this laptop to use video editors, as it’s not just Kinrmaster we tried others but no luck unfortunately.

I regret buying a chromebook for just over 600. i should have bought a laptop so I could install all the programs I love. This is like owning a phone that has a keyboard.. I dont like the hustle of returning stuff and the bright side of owning a chromebook is you can focus on business rather than slowing down performance with endless installations of software out there.. It helps me focus on administrative tasks but what an expensive way to do it. great machine, im just riddled with buyers remorse.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersThis is my second Asus Flip the first was a C302 which was faultless until I spilt tea all over it, (although my son has since removed the back and got it back to fully working). Having had home computers for the last 30 years (I had the first home pc model for the pc in the UK), I like to think I know a thing or two about home PC’s. I did a lot of research for the first Asus C302 and like to think it was the best on the market for the money, I did the same for this one I don’t stick to brand loyalty when choosing a PC I go for the best on the market at the time. This one the C436 is the best on the market for the price, the Samsung comes a close second. I choose this one over the Samsung because of the reliability of Asus and how’s not to like from lappy to tablet in one machine. I have no regrets buying an Asus again and this model is a vast improvement on the C302.

Golden Review Award: 9 From Our UsersI upgraded from a previous Chromebook (Acer) and the difference is amazing.
Faster more capable but still a familiar Chromebook, everything works just as you would expect with no drama. Moving over was a doddle as you would expect.
Touch screen is easy to use no false palm edits(so far) Included stylus does what you would expect.
Finger print reader took a second or too the first couple of times but that seems to have improved.
Multiple tabs open and other apps in the background all running without a hiccup – not managed to fire up the fans yet either.
Battery life so far is good but the indicator is the dynamic type so every time you do anything the time left changes so don’t know how accurate the estimates are. All in all good upgrade.
