Superb and easy to install with lots of options.
DON’T forget to make sure the CPU you put into this is compatible. (LGA 1200 or whatever you use)
DON’T forget to go onto the website and make sure you get the right MEMORY MODULES (DIMMS) for this motherboard
DON’T forget to make sure your PC case will take this motherboard
DON’T forget to make sure you have an adequate power supply for the graphics cards, cooling etc. etc.
Connect everything up carefully .
ONE last thing if you intend to use an onboard SSD card in the slots on the motherboard make sure you know that 12th GEN CPU will allow you to use any onboard slot but 11th GEN CPU can only utilise 2 of the 4 slots.
I chose this based on owning Asus boards in the past having good experiences overall. The ample rear ports and built in Wi-Fi were also key for my choice. As always the build quality is excellent and the product looks great in a glass panel case, showing off it’s subtle yet stylish RGB lighting. Everything is located conveniently and installation of components was a breeze.
Very good matherboard give a lot of positive emotion one bit witch I don’t like is when I second time Remove GPU the locking bracket broke.
He carefull with it for all please
Overall Great Motherboard, but hard to wrap a mind around why so pricy.
Cons for Me:
The Bluetooth connectivity is utterly bad.
I have a Bluetooth Wireless Speaker. Previously I had MSI Z390 motherboard to which I connected My Bluetooth Speaker and it was Working perfect with Distance and all.
But this Motherboards Bluetooth seems to struggle with Signal Distance.
I nearly literarily have to stick my Bluetooth Speaker inside the Computer itself in order to have a good sound from it. There is nothing wrong with my Speaker.
If I move Bluetooth Speaker about 20-50cm away from PC Case it starts to make distorted Sound.
If close enough about 10-20cm the Volume itself is much quieter.
If I keep speaker next to the board Max 5cm away sound is Ok.
For me it’s very weird because it suppose to work perfect within 10 Meters of Range…
And next one is :
When you turn of Computer… The ROG Logo doesn’t Turn Off. It Stay’s Lit…
These are 2 things for now what I have noticed.
I didn’t had any problems with drivers or anything else yet.
Is a really nice board and was easy to install. Comes with great features. Only reason for not giving it 5 stars is because I feel it should come with more fan connectors
What can I say,
Upgarded to a 12900K and DDR5 so spent some time looking for a decent motherboard.
Look i hesitated, it cost so much money, but after reading many reviews, nad previously having owned ASUS products, I took teh plunge and bought it.
It was a breeze to fit, and I love the riser for NVME drives.
The LED readout for booting is fab 🙂
Its been easy to use, easy to install, and getting some fab benchmarks on it.
Please ask if theres anything in particular you would like to know.
This board is MATX. The Amazon description is inccorect. Its pricey and supports DDR5. Its likely the highest spec motherboard with M-ATX formfactor. Bios is easy to use. The m.2 heatsinks work well. Currently using a intel 12900k and DDR5 5600mhz ram. Only issue I had was that I had to install asus armoury crate in order for the chipset drivers to install the latest drivers. XMP worked right away. Happy with this upgrade and as this is a new platform and DDR5 etc make sure to update your bios.
It works well and is stable when at base clocks but when try to over clock it runs into instability issues which might be down to my CPU. The Bios is very easy to use. Easy to install. There might be a problem with the aux port and there might be an audio issue but that might be down to the driver. It supports DDR5. This is a good value for money good quality motherboard and I am well pleased with it.
Lots to recommend this Micro ATX motherboard, including the many in-built features, quality of build, documentation, and excellent support/drivers/firmware from Asus Tech. This is my second Asus motherboard, and I plan to stick with Asus for my next PC build!
Although I faced issues building my gaming pc I am happy to say that this motherboard was not a contributing factor. The Z590-F is a beautiful piece of hardware
Having waited a good while for stock and matching components this finally arrived and got commissioned.
Was it worth the wait? Yes. Is it a good motherboard? Yes
Main pointers to note, so this is a the new 590 chipset, so fully supports PCIe V4, but make sure you have a processor that also supports PCIe V4. If you’ve a 10th gen it will only work at V3 speeds. Which although not slow, are now a little behind what you can get with V4.
So for best results you need to pair this with an 11th generation chip.
Memory support was great, and my RAM is running comfortably at 3200Mhz without any issue of heat or stability.
The M.2 slots are easy to get to, but again read the manual as you can’t just put drives in, in any configuration. If you want a V4 drive you need to use the first slot, if you populate the second slot with another drive you need to go into BIOS and tell it that’s what you’ve done. To avoid potential speed issues I would recommend you use the first slot for your V4 disk, then use one of the 3rd or 4th slots at the bottom of the board for a V3 drive. If you’re planning on using two V4 drives then you must use the top two slots and you must tell BIOS that’s what you’re doing.
There is also a known issue with the Digital Audio off the board, out the box it most probably won’t have the update, and you might experience a loud static sound coming out at random. This has been fixed with a firmware update available from the ASUS website, make sure you apply this and the problem goes away.
So is this a good upgrade? Well I think that really depends on what you want. If you’ve a 400 or 300 series motherboard and only have V3 PCI devices then I don’t think it’s worth the money to upgrade. If you have an older version and are in the market to upgrade both your storage, GPU and processor then this motherboard is a great buy. But do make sure you get the latest 11th gen stuff to make the most from it’s potential.
Very good no problems super fast with M2 memory, windows 10pro loads in about 15 seconds, games also load super fast with 2x 1tb M2 WD black 1 of these dedicated for games
Worth noting that a number of (if not all of) these motherboards have an issue with an adhesive used on the screws for the heat sink on the lower M2 port. This, coupled with the very small size of the screws, makes it very difficult to remove the heat sink without risking damage to the board. I have seen videos online of people showing this can be “fixed” by heating up the screws using items like soldering irons, but it doesn’t seem worth the risk to the board itself to do. I have owned other models of this board in recent years which have not had this issue, so it seems to be specifically this board. Worth noting for anyone planning to use 2 M2’s in their builds. I’ve also had trouble with the RGB headers on this board, but this doesn’t seem to be as widespread an issue. Other than that, though, it’s a quality product – very fast and runs reasonably cool for what it is.
This is a great motherboard for the Lga 1151 platform. Works great with a core i9 9900k with no issues. Its comes with a great host of apps that improve performance
This motherboard was a dream to install, it is stealthy with subtle RGB that could be controlled using the included software. Only complaint would be that the heatsink above the CPU is plastic and fans cables can easily get snagged on it. Other than that I highly recommend this very high quality ATX motherboard.
I recently had planned to upgrade my CPU and so I had to upgrade my motherboard since my old motherboard wasn’t compatible, I could have bought a cheaper board but decided to get this one.
I wanted my next motherboard to have a pre-mounted IO shield which at the current time your paying a premium for.
My old motherboard was Asus one and so went with the same manufacturer in hopes doing so I wouldn’t have issues with windows and have to re-install it (which never happened, only issue it failed to boot the first time and on the second boot did some eternal checks and runs perfectly)
The most important reason of all was for the RGB, I use Razer synapse with a ASUS aura connect module to control all my RGB so everything is in sync (nothing is as satisfying when all your RGB is in sync)
With my new motherboard and cpu I’ve been able to over clock it to 5Ghz and is stable, reaching temps of around 70 degrees.
I have had no issues so far and I’m glad I spent the extra money on the motherboard.
Full featured and easy to install. Lots of cooling options. The on board illuminated logos and text look great. The added extras included in the box such as the mini fan for overclocking and the WiFi antenna complete a great product.
So I had to order two of these MOBO’s, the first one came with 2 RAM slots not working and the second is having problems picking up the CPU fan, despite it being plugged in and running. It seems to perform well, I’m no computer expert but using it with an i9 9700k, 32GB Corsair Vengeance RAM and a Quadro RTX 4000 produces good results. I’m happy with the product, but am slightly amazed to see faults in two out of two motherboards that I ordered, despite them costing nearly 250…
Solid itx motherboard. Good bios interface and options. Those wanting to turn off secure boot just need to delete the keys. If you’re planning a small form factor build with a powerful cpu and limited clearance for a powerful cooler I’d probably avoid it as the massive heatshroud gets in the way of higher end low profile coolers like the blackridge. Whilst this could be removed, it’s probably more than a relatively inexperienced PC builder would want to get into.
I needed an upgrade from my old Gen i7 to support my new 2080ti and of course didn’t want to go with any other brand than Asus’s ROG. its been stable as heck to overclock and reliable throughout everything. I dont have any complaint at all about this board. Brilliant, would recommend. Another awesome ROG board
If you use this with a 9900K, be careful that the board doesn’t automatically overvolt the CPU with Asus’s default CPU over clocking thingy. Very aggressive over volting caused my temp to spike at 105c with a Noctua NH-D15 dual fan + Thermal Grizzly kryonaut! I turned off that stupid feature and now it can run stable at 5 GHz under 85. Otherwise a decent motherboard for the price.
Brilliant board. Use this daily for easily 12 hours for my home work (as im isolating at present) and for gaming.
I run all the latest games maxed out no issues.
The bios is ok, its a tad more complicated than some other boards but it does the job.
I would highly recommend
Bit of an unfair review but I will try and be fair. I down graded from an Aorus master, that mother board was brilliant but faulty. anyway Asus Bios are very user friendly compared to gigabyte. You need to upgrade bios straight away stability problems. board is average looking, great rgb settings compared to Aorus. temps on board are fine, ram Oc good after bios update. running i9 9900k at 5hz and ram 16gb at3900mhz stability seems fine after bios update. One Major problems is I cant seem to get my Samsung 970 pro m.2 ssd to work. some times it does and majority of the time doesn’t recognise. so avoid if using Samsung products. I had to reinstall windows on different SSD. Motherboard bit pricey for what you get, better off paying extra for maximus.
Really good Asus motherboard. I always tend to stick with Asus and they havent let me down. This is a fantastic mid range gaming motherboard. it has 2 fan headers plus 2 for the CPU, i would have liked to have seen a few more but ive had more expensive boards before. it also comes with 2 RGB headers and an addressable RGB header meaning you can use 12v rgb strips then have individual leds controlled such as on fans. again would love more and i know the board cant be covered in headers! on RGB, the back IO panel uses asus aura software and has cool RGB effects too.
the thing i really like about this is that there are two M2 slots, one under a heat sync and one near the middle of the board. having the option to have 2 along with 6 SATA ports is really handy for lots of storage.
one of the reasons i always stick with asus is that i love the software, including the bios software, its really easy to navigate and tweak every aspect if you want to. there is an EZ mode if you are not confident in the bios then an advanced move for changing every voltage and timing ever!
overall this is a great looking board with a lot of functionality for the price. I always like to get the best for price and i feel like ive done this with this board.
The Asus Z390-F Motherboard is a great choice for PC builds! I’ve recently built a system for use with Adobe’s Premiere Pro and to play some of the latest PC game titles, and what can I say? This board offers an array of features ranging from support for the latest Intel i9 Processors, to supporting 4000mhz+ DDR4 memory. Not to mention support for the latest and greatest Nvidia and AMD graphics cards including SLI. The board has plenty of Sata3 ports for storage, and two M.2 NVME PCI-E ports for flash storage. The board comes well packaged with a fully comprehensive installation guide, and I love the ROG STRIX RGB heatsink/backplate. The system I’ve built features the Intel i9 9900KS processor, NZXT H510 Elite case and NZXT Kraken x62 AIO Cooler, 32GB of DDR4 4000MHZ memory, an Nvidia RTX 2070, 2x Samsung 970 NVME drives, 2x Sata3 Samsung 960 SSD drives, and 2x 4TB Seagate Storage volumes, and finally Corsair’s 750w Modular PSU. One great thing to mention about this motherboard, it has plenty of headers for Chassis Fans! I found all of the external headers to be logically placed on this board, enabling me to keep my system super clean. The board features some really easy to use Overclocking tools and I really like how you can update the board’s firmware over the LAN. Overall great quality product for a great price. Would purchase again! – Jake
This is a high quality, easy to install and full of features motherboard. One word of warning is to make sure the board has the minimum required BIOS for your CPU already installed or the board will not post. ASUS will say that it should still post to BIOS but I can tell you from first hand experience that it won’t until it is updated. Apart from that the board is superb. Using the built in AI overclocking software it achieves settings just as good as I could get manually which makes overclocking so much quicker. I achieved 49 ratio on 6 cores and 50 ratio on 3 cores with an i5-9600k Refresh (R0 stepping). I also managed to overclock my Corsair Vengeance DDR4 memory from stock 2133MHz C13 to 3200MHz C16 at 1.35v. The only negative I found for this board is the CPU usage for Aura lighting. I must point out though that this issue is not exclusive to this board, it is the same on all ASUS ROG Strix boards. I feel it is more an issue with how the software interacts with the board rather than the board itself. Ways to fix this is to 1) Turn off the effects 2) or run the effects in either Dark(same as turning them off), Static, or smart. If like myself your case has an inbuilt RGB controller then I recommend using this as it uses zero CPU resources. I recommend this board very highly and anyone thinking of buying one won’t be disappointed.
Couldn’t be a better board. I’ve built a fair few systems, and this has been the easiest to get up and running and overclock. Really nice features, auto overclocking if you don’t want to get down and dirty yourself, very strong XMP profile.
I recently bought this for my new PC build and its the first time I’ve installed a motherboard in a long time so with it being an easy to install motherboard with preinstall IO shield made it so easy for me.
The UEFI Bios is very easy to understand and set up everything when you first switch on your PC.
Aesthetically I love the RGB lights it brings a cool look to my case at night.
All working pretty well with my i9 and (old) GTX 1070. Do note though – it *does not* come with an M.2 standoff and screw. I’m trying to source one of these myself. Pretty annoying.
This is a fantastic motherboard. Very easy to customise and if you’re not an expert at overclocking, this mobo does a fairly decent job for you!
Looks great, with RGB above the I/O shield controlled through either Asus’ Aura Sync or Armoury Crate.
I would recommend doing a BIOS update before anything else though.
Really great motherboard which I use with an i7 9700K and an RTX 2080 ASUS ROG Strix card. Packaged really well which all the appropriate cables I needed. Very simple to install in my case (Corsair 500D) and looks really good, I/O shield comes pre-mounted which is very useful.
I went for the bluetooth version which works very well with my headphones, no additional work needed there.
It’s a very good looking board, with good quality connections and great RGB.
I love this product because it comes with Wifi, supports overclocking and has dual M.2. It also provides some overclocking profiles to help simplify the process. I took advantage of the dual M.2 slots and I can say that data transfer is lightning fast when copying data from one to the other. Though I’m not into LED lighting but it looks really cool at night especiall if you have a glass PC case. However, you can turn this off if it is distracting.
After many hours Gaming with overclocked settings (Intel CPU i7 9000K from 3.6 MHz to 5.2 MHz), the system remains stable all the time. It is almost two months since I purchased this product and I haven’t noticed any stability issues even with high overclock settings.
I would recommend it to anyone, but if you do not require the WiFi feature, there are cheaper models that support overclocking too.
Very powerful moba but had a big scare when i first powered on my pc it wouldnt boot to the system installation… turns out a simpile bio update fixed no probelm but kinda not acceptable for somthing so valuable.
To start with, check your BIOS version because mine was quite out of date and so had many issues with my pc (BSOD every few hours). Take all the proper precautions and research when updating. Once updated I have not had an issue. Apart from that it is a fantastic board with all the features I wanted. The interface for the BIOS is great, especially the ai tweaker for overclocking.
So, I really like this motherboard. Features are great, it looks nice, good slots and ports, everything you could want.
My problem is, the first one I ordered had two problems with it. Firstly, 1 pin in the CPU socket was completely missing. Not bent, completely gone! Now, I don’t know if this was a manufacturing problem that was overlooked or if it somehow came out during shipment but nonetheless, one was missing. And this caused a very annoying issue for me in that Windows 10 installation would freeze and I’d have to restart my whole computer to get it to reset. I knew for a fact it wasn’t my hardware so I just got unlucky.
Secondly, and this one is more obscure, but everytime I plugged in a USB peripheral – whether that be a mouse, keyboard, USB stick etc……. it also caused this freezing issue even on an SSD that already had Windows 7 installed on it.
So, not only did it have a CPU socket pin missing, but even if it was there, the USB ports were somehow busted and causing freezing which is an issue in this day and age when PS/2 keyboards have gone out of fashion.
The reason this is not 1 star is due to the fact that I have ordered a second one. All CPU sockets seem to be there, waiting on a new CPU cooler to arrive. If this one works all well and good, then I would recommend this motherboard with just a bit of caution you might get a faulty one. If my second one also has problems, then I will update this with 1-star. I’ll let you all know
EDIT: Second one indeed worked, bumped up to 4 stars but be warned. You may get a broken one. But if you do, Amazon will refund you and this motherboard is worth the hassle
People have covered almost every aspect of this top-end mobo. I won’t duplicate all that. However, the most amazing feature of this particular motherboard is that it has 2 NVME m.2 slots, and the built-in BIOS wizard can make them into a RAID 0 boot device! This is incredible and makes the system feel REALLY fast! Effectively, almost doubling the data transfer rate of the main Windows drive; and m.2 is already MUCH fast than normal SATA SSDs.
I installed 2x 240GB m.2 drives, configured them as RAID 0 (stripe), all via the friendly BIOS wizard, and now it has a stupendously fast 480GB drive c: for Windows 10 and programs. The Windows 10 installation recognised the RAID drive without the need to source drivers so the process was waaaaay simpler than I expected. I install games etc to my secondary internal 2TB SSD.
I bought the Z390-E version and its great, I love the aesthetics. I haven’t had any problems yet (hopefully it stays that way). However, I did get a BSOD randomly when I was working on an Excel document and I performed a bios update (version 602 to 905) and I haven’t had a BSOD since, but the motherboard may have not been the problem.
The mother board is spot on. It looks amazing, RGB is lovely and great connections. But the Asus aura software isn’t great. I can get the motherboard doing the lighting that I like but the controls for external lighting such as water blocks and led strips don’t always do what i’m telling them to and changing the settings automatically changes things in my BIOS such as lighting up when powered off etc.
But they are minor points. The board its self is great, the bios is detailed and it looks gorgeous. Just the software that lets it dow
I was going to go for the maximum xi but went for this to save some dosh. Also I thought it would look nicer with a vertical gpu which would have hidden the ROG eye on the maximus. Housing an i5 9600k out the box without needing to update bios which I was worried about.
I installed windows then updated the bios. I hit some problem by doing this then got a cannot repair message and windows was unable to load. I thought it was beyond repair but I managed to get past this somehow but can’t remember the details. So if it is running OK I suggest not updating the bios if you have no problems already and are unsure of any hurdles you may hit.
If you have an aio cooler you may get an error for having no cpu fan and you will be stuck on the bios screen. You should go into bios and select DISABLE CPU FAN if you choose not to use the cpu fan header. But make sure your fans are blowing and controllable. I’m just waiting for a fan splitter then I will connect to the cpu header.
Edit
Note that the large USB lead from your case is plugged in to the bottom on this motherboard. This will leave the cable on top of the psu shroud. It is more tidy to have this USB socket on the right of the board. I will be having a vertical gpu to hide this.
Smashing motherboard with all the features you could ask for. I fit a big shuriken V2 to it so I can only speak for that combo. Be aware the big heat spreader block thing they put on is very big and may interfere with your cooler. I can confirm that I fit the BS V2 but it’s not the perfectly ideal fit.
Amazing for the size. Its running hi spec gaming PC with 9700k, 2080ti watercooled, 32GB DDR4 and 2TB NVME SSD. Works like a dream. Very smooth and no issues at all. Im surprised its so powerful yet compact. Heat sinks are a bonus and you get one for the main M.2. Bios could use a bit of work, but it does the job. No wake on mouse/keyboard from S5 (full shutdown), only from sleep mode.
It looks grate and as usual, as an ASUS ROG series, has that premium look that you would spect.
I’m so happy that this Asus mono have that BIOS USB port so I can update it without CPU. I knew that it won’t cooperate with my new 13 gen CPU but that was easy and fast.

Look no further!
I would recommend it to anyone!
Great board. Great BIOS.
