Par contre, le peu que j’ai pu essayer, c’est que oui, le wifi dpote!
Par ailleurs, la multitude d’options que permet cet appareil est titanesque.

Acquistato. per coprire gli ambienti pi vulnerabili, con frequenza del 6 ghz , che lavorasse al meglio, con la 2,4 ghz e la 5 ghz, mi sono reso conto che in modalit cascata con il modem router su porta lan wan 2, 5 gigabite per secondo , il risultato era evidente , ma non secondo le mie aspettative avendo in wifi 6 un dl di 1,7 gbps, e in ul di 980 mbps, decido di tenerlo per certificare a me ed all’ assistenza Amazon la validit delle mie impressioni, peer cui lo0 inizializzo in ambente Asus AIMESH, riscontro una sovrapposizione, di bande quando la 6ghz unita alle altre 3 , per cui decido di spacchettarlo , saluti
Das Men zeigt die Verbindung schn bersichtlich an und es werden auch alle Einstellungen vom Hauptrouter auf den Mesh Knoten bernommen 🙂
Ich habe meinen via LAN Kabel verbunden, finde das dies die effektivere Lsung ist um so ein Gert richtig zu nutzen, da man bei WLAN Nutzung einfach viel zu viel Bandbreite her schenkt !
Es wird dann auch im Men schn angezeigt, welche Gerte mit welchen Router verbunden sind und mit welchen Band und wie schnell die Geschwindigkeit in etwa ist und wie gut die Empfangsstrke.
Man kann den Gerten auch Icons zu ordnen und die Gerte auch umbenennen, wenn hier irgend ein kryptischer Name angezeigt wird. Man kann auch eigene verwenden, aber die Auswahl ist eigentlich so gro, das ich zumindest fr jedes meiner Gerte ein Icon gefunden habe.
Die WLAN Leistung ist wie erwartet, durchschnittlich, es kommt hier einfach auf die Umgebung an, bei mir wird hier dank massiver Ziegel die Bandbreit schon im 2ten Raum, hinter zwei Wnden auf 500 Mbit gedrosselt, in einem Raum weiter, hinter einer dritten Wand, erreicht man dann nur noch so 25-100Mbit. Im Raum wo der Router steht sind um die 900mbit mglich, da ich leider die 2.5gbit Schnittstelle nicht testen konnte, hier wre es auf jeden Fall besser gewesen, sie htten 2x 2.5Gbit Ports verbaut.
Ebenso wre es besser gewesen sie htten ein 5ghz Band verbaut, das mit CH100, dann ber eine deutlich strkere Sendeleistung verfgt, das htte zumindest bei mir deutlich geholfen.
Aber der groe Vorteil bei dem Gert liegt halt mehr auf dem neuen 6ghz band, da man hier zumindest im selben Raum ohne Kabelverbindung zu einer sehr hohen Datenrate kommen kann, sofern man auch Wifi6E Endgerte hat und man die richtigen Netzwerkkarten in einem NAS oder Desktop Rechner eingebaut hat, zur Zeit eher noch eine Mangelware. Der Nachteil am 6 Ghz Band ist halt wieder das die Reichweite leider schlechter ist als das ohnehin schon schwchere 5 Ghz band. Ich htte mir hier wirklich das strkere 5 Ghz Band gewnscht, warum man hier diesen Schritt gegangen ist, wird einfach an dem Kostenfaktor liegen, da dieses Gert relativ gnstig ist, ich finde aber auch es ist wirklich sehr kompakt und es lsst sich gut wo hinstellen, im Gegensatz zu anderen Gerten, die deutlich grer sind und mehr Platz brauchen.
Es war fr mich auch eine schwierige Entscheidung, entweder einen Router der auch das strkere 5Ghz Band verwendet oder wie dieser, schon die volle Wifi6E Untersttzung mit dem 6Ghz Band bietet.
Ich muss hier sagen, das bei mir wohl das strkere 5Ghz Band mehr Sinn gemacht htte, aber wenn in Zukunft mehr Gerte mit Wifi6E ausgerstet werden, dann hat man hier wieder die Vorteile, das die WLAN Verbindung durch keine Radar Scan Vorgnge unterbrochen werden und die Verbindung dann auch stabiler ist. Fr mich war auch der Preis im Vergleich zu anderen Gerten ein Kaufgrund, man findet leider nichts in diesem Bereich, vor allem wenn man schon einen Asus Router hat und dieses Mesh System auch richtig nutzen will, dann finde ich dieses Gert, die passende Erweiterung dafr, wie gesagt, mit dieser schwcheren 5GHZ Verbindung.
This was easy to setup, I just followed the stopt setup guide after plugging in my setup VDSL modem to the non-shared WAN port. The software setup allowed me to set a name and password for each of the three WiFi bands. The router also has a web interface but you can do basic setup in the app from a mobile phone.
Geniales multi-Rollen Gert, hervorragende Firmware mit Dual-WAN Funktion. WiFi 6E ! Und das wie geschrieben zum relativ gnstigen Preis. Es wird aber noch besser …. Die Energieaufnahme blieb mit allen Funktionen unter 10 Watt ! Das kann sonst niemand – nicht mal … “ungenannt” 😉

Was a pain to set up but now all working and a lot faster than old rx500 , handles more devices and improved WiFi speed
On it’s own it didn’t get rid of all the dead zones in my house but certainly the signal was much stronger everywhere. My kitchen was dead before and went up to 8mb after installing thgis – on a 350Mb connection, so better but still not brilliant. However what you can do with this is easily add an Asus AI mesh unit in seconds and put it anywhewre in the house on the edge of the signal and then you have a full max signal everywhere. So instead of a single 350 router you are much better off with this and a 100 AI mesh node. No more appalling VM no broadband. The powerline booster they gave me to solve my issues gave my 5Mb in one room and nothing else. Shouldn’t have to pay to make up for their terrible service ands router but you do and I’m happy I went with this. Again, adding an AI mesh node took seconds and the signal has been transformed to the entire house. The router has not had a single dropout since installation a couple of months ago.
Viendo los precios que tienen los routers wifi 6e, me sorprende este modelo tanto en precio como en prestaciones. Lo uso intensivamente; acceso desde casa (con su Streaming y su teletrabajo) dando servidio a 15 dispositivos entre ordenadores, TVs y dos AppleTV, 3 VPN WireGuard simultneas de las que este router hace de servidor, y adems tambin hace servidor TimeMachine para copias horarias de un mac en un disco de 2Tb. El rendimiento es perfecto, y totalmente estable. Eso si, lo nico que no he podido probar es el Wifi 6E, ya que no tengo todava ningn dispositivo que lo soporte.
Y encima a un precio muy razonable. Lo recomiendo sin dudarlo.
I have the Asus rt-axe7800 connected to a draytek v166 modem. Everything worked straight out of the box.
Customers need to know WiFi 6 ready items work with 2.4ghz and 5ghz only, WiFi 6 routers broadcast to 2.4 and 5ghz only. If you have WiFi 6e devices they will work with a WiFi 6e router, because the WiFi 6e router broadcasts to the 6ghz channels. This Asus rt-axe7800 is a 6e router and does it well. I connected my modem
Plugged it in, waited for it to set itself, connected the router, plugged it in, let it set its, logged it on the user interface, set my ISP and password, that was it. Took a total of about ten minutes. Easy Peasy. It’s up to you if you want to believe self proclaimed experts. Read the reviews then investigate. This is a well received bit of kit.
An update to let people know, my axe7800 as been up now for 38 days. I get 74 down and 19 up on WiFi, from a 80/20 package from PlusNet FTTC. I will say again to doubters you only get 6ghz if you have 6e devices, wifi 6 routers only broadcast wifi 5ghz. You need a WiFi 6e router plus WiFi 6e devices. I don’t know what people are doing. I read the same type of reviews with my dsl ac68u combi, it never stopped working for six years. Get all the settings right and Asus kit is great.
Set Up.
This Asus RT-AXE7800 Router is connected to a Virgin Hub 5 on a 1Gbs contract, I used the HUB 2.5Gbs WAN port to feed the Asus 2.5Gbs port from it.
The Asus app made setting up very easy. Once the booting up sequence had finished, everything was up and running in a couple of minutes.
The 2.4 and 5Ghz bands are optimized by default, basically running under a single SSID and smartly choosing either band and chanels in accordance with what the device connected to it supports. Leave this setting as it is if you want every possible device you want to connect to work smoothly.
But, if you know what you are doing or feeling adventurous, the bands can be split and configured independently. Be aware, if not supported by your devices, some settings can make things go pear shaped rather quickly.
You can also access configuration pages from a web interface, which is easy to navigate and provides power users with ample setting options.
Extras
You’ll all be happy to know that as with all Asus routers (and unlike the Netgear counterparts), parental controls, security settings, and priority traffic options are free for life.
Range./speed
My house is a typical 2 floors Uk semidetached home but, with a large 48 meters garden extension. The router is located in the lower floor, in a shelve close to the ceiling, in what without the extension, would have been the middle of the house but, adjacent to the wall separating my house from my neighbour’s, so not quite right in the middle as, and because of the house layout, that location is not posible.
I found that the RT-AXE7800 has exceptional coverage. Upstairs, in the furthest part of the house, it clocked in at 200Mbs (Wi-Fi6 5Ghz band), and that’s while my wife was streaming Netflix in the lounge downstairs. In contrast, the 6 year old Linksys EA9500 this unit has replaced, could only achieve 35Mbs.
In the master bedroom, the Wi-Fi 6E 6Ghz band pumps an astonishing 900Mbs, the linksys ( which was placed in the same ground floor spot just below the bedroom) could only provide 260Mbs, and In the lounge, with a weight bearing wall in between, the Asus delivers 1100+mbs through the 6Ghz band.
This sort of performance is very, very impressive!
The 2.4Ghz band is average. The best speed in the house was about 150Mbs, with 65-80Mbs being the average. Still, only my smart bulbs and appliances are connected to that band so, not a big issue for me.
Things to bear in mind.
This is a next gen router, and not many devices supports it’s top features. For instance, the iPhone 14 does not support Wi-Fi 6e. Nor does my 4th gen iPad Pro which only supports Wi-Fi 5.
I believe only a hanfull of flagship phones from various manufacturers supports the 6Ghz band (Wi-Fi 6e), my Fold 3 does, but for now, not many do.
Other than that, I am happy to recommend this very competitively priced beast. And at this price range, I am rewarding this ASUS RT-AXE7800 a well deserved 5 stars!

Let’s star with this.
WI-FI 6e is not a Wi-Fi 6 “fix”
Wi-Fi 6 is the successor of 802.11ac (Wi-Fi 5) and operates in the 802.11ax standard, which improves connectivity in high density eviroments but still uses the 5Ghz and 2.4Ghz bands.
On supported devices, Wi-Fi 6e operates exclusively in the new 6Ghz band. But, it also behaves like a normal Wi-Fi 6 router with all other devices. So, it’s not a fix at all.
– The Asus RT-AXE7800 router is cutting internet speed right down when using a VPN.
Let me tell you, it is definitely not the router’s processor being unable to “decode” VNP encryptions with the original firmware.
Using a VPN can slow down your connection, as your data is being encrypted and routed through another server. With some VPNs, the difference is barely noticeable, whereas others can cause a considerable slowdown.
For the last 4 years, I have had a dedicated Linksys AC3200 optimised for and loaded with prioretary VPN Express firmware (I bought it from them directly). Depending on the server and country I am connected to, my 1Gbs connection can be cut to a miserable 50Mbs. But that’s not the routers fault. That’s just what the servers I am connected to can deliver at the specific moment I tested the speed.
– Your RTAC86U, can feed your phones with 1.1Gbs all over the house.
Well, even if you have a 1Gbs ISP contract, most houses have walls and appliances that can Interfere with Wireless Fidelity waves. Also, that router does not have 2.5Gbs port. Gigabit ports tap out at high 900’s they cannot go higher than that.
So, you will forgive me if I am sceptical about your claims there.
– One of your phones not able to connect/dropouts.
My fold 3 connects solidly with no dropouts. In fact, I have 17 devices permanently connected to this router, none of them have any issues
If you have enabled DFS, that could be the cause.
DFS frequencies are generally reserved for radar, such as military radar, satellite communication, and weather radar.
The router will drop connections if any of the above mentioned equipment wants to use that channel, as they have priority on DFS over all other devices. And it can take up to 10 minutes to find another free channel. That’s assuming the phones/devices you want to connect support and are DFS compliant (which only a handful are) if not supported : – the device won’t see the 5Ghz band and even if it can, it will try to connect to it over and over without success. The gains vs headache with DFS are not worth the trouble.
Now, not being able to fully understand Wi-Fi technologies, or how virtual private networks really work, is not in the slightest good reasons to slap a 1 star review on this router.
To everyone else, do not flash your router with third-party firmware as it will void your warranty, and if things go wrong, ASUS costumer support won’t help you. So, you may end up with an expensive paper weight.

Packaging: when you get the Wi-Fi router your met with a black box, nothing really special inside other than the router itself, a network cable and a plug with both European and uk adapters.
Setup: plugged this in and the connected to my sky q router that I’m using a modem using the WAN 2.5G port, I’ve turned the ssid off on the sky router and then use this as the access point. I also connected a 16port gigabit switch to the other WAN 2.5G port. Went through the setup using the ASUS router app available on play store and App Store. Set up is nice and easy and went on to create my network. One thing to note here is that the 2.4 &5ghz channels runs of a separate ssid along side the 6ghz channel. So you will have 2 ssid. I named mine asus so now have 1 showing as asus and another asus6g. Once that was all sorted nothing that was wired into the switch would work although Wi-Fi worked fine. I rebooted everything and tried again and it still didn’t work. Had to factory reset the Wi-Fi router and then set it up again and then it seemed to work fine so just bare this in mind if it happens to you.
Performance: I replaced a 4 satellite mesh Wi-Fi system for this and the range is better with this than it was with the 4 satellites. My wireless security cameras no connect a lot quicker and the Wi-Fi generally speaking seems a little quicker overall, the INTERNET speed isn’t any different but it seems to load web pages and content a little quicker, possibly down to the better cpu in this router compared to the mesh system.
I live in a reasonably sized house and get Wi-Fi in every room without issues.
Downsides: haven’t really found any yet, the UI of the app is a little full on but other than that it’s all good, there are a LOT of options and settings to mess around with in the app but I left most of these off and didn’t have any issues.
Verdict: I’d recommend this router, it’s solid performance and range was just what I was after and it’s future proof for anything coming out with 6e in the future.
