Really good quality and easy to assemble. The mat in the bottom is quite thick and looks great. It is a good size pen and the gate is a full panel so no bending over. Only negative It doesn’t fold up and has to be fully dissembled which doesn’t take too long.

So far so good! It’s aesthetically pleasing, and very sturdy! Easy to assemble, and I appreciate that the mat is attached to it!

Aesthetically pleasing, plus safe and sturdy

It is a nice quality pen, very sturdy and relevantly easy to assemble, floor mat is well cushioned and comfortable even for hard floor
I would prefer if the door/gate was removable but not a major issue

    Highly recommended

Love it, we actually placed it around our Christmas tree so it was safe from the baby ^^’
It’s not super easy to install/ take apart, but that’s because it’s more sturdy, so that’s fine

Very happy with this for my young grandson. It is lovely and solid but looks nice. Love the little mat and the door.
Ollie is pulling himself up at the sides and I know he is safe and the playpen is not going to topple over. Happy.

overall good product, but the elastic corner straps are week, and one completely ripped off during set up. the fabric ties are also a bit too gentle. good product, but the ties and corner elastic straps on the floor pad need to be more robus

Incredibly easy to assemble, sturdy and spacious for 4 month old baby who is starting to roll. Baby happy as can see through bars (unlike fabric playpens). Will be a lifesaver when baby starts to move. And great that it will convert into barrier for kitchen when starts to walk. Really impressed with this product. We have a wooden floor and the product is solid on this surface, will not slip or move when pushed by younger child. Only downside is that mat is not very padded so have put it onto foam tiles to enhance comfort for baby (dropped one star for this). All round excellent product, highly recommended. May seem like an expensive purchase initially but I think it is worth it given it will be used for years to come.

Keeps baby safe, out of sharp corners as she roams around.Sturdy playpen and very easy to assemble and disassemblen, it could be a bit heavy but it contributes for sturdiness.

After reading some of the reviews I was worried that the playpen would be difficult to assemble. But that wasn’t the case, I managed to assemble it on my own in around 10minutes, you just need to make sure you line up the arrows and us a bit of force to put the poles at the end.
The assembled playpen is sturdy, reasonably large and secure, it’s colour is a matt black which I prefer to white. We added mesh coat bumper to the edges because our daughter kept putting her legs between the gaps and getting stuck.
Only complaint is that the play mat provided isn’t particularly padded so we’ve had to put foam tiles under it to protect our daughter from the tiled floor.

    Sturdy and easy to assemble

Would buy again. Only improvement to suggest would be a better quality and thicker integral mat as, in our view, there is insufficient protection when the playpen is placed on a hard surface eg a tiled or wood floor. When that happens, we place the whole playpen on to a general purpose foam mat area which has a minimum depth of 1cm. The playpen is fine on a carpet surface.

Good sturdy pen and seems well made. I do like the mat however it’s a bit of a faff to tie it onto the pen and takes me about 10 minutes. When you have to wash it often, putting it back on gets a bit tedious. As much as I now hate them, poppers would be a better option! It’ll be interesting to see how it fares when my baby is standing but it seems solid enough.

Straight away you get how sturdy this is, each of the 5 sides has a good solid feel to it. After reading a lot of reviews for playpens I went for this one and I glad I did.
I found putting it together very easy, just align the marks on the top of each corner, click together and you’re done. In all it took about 20 mins to put up.
The mat is a reasonable thickness and for the price point I wasn’t expecting much more.
The door catch is quite tight, but in time I suspect I’ll get used to it.

Nice and sturdy. Quality product. Baby us 8months, pulling herself up and standing. Hold on strong. Unfortunately lost one star for ease of assembly. Would have been 6 if it was foldable 🙂 it’s part of the furniture for now.

Good, solid item. Nice that its mostly metal, with durable plastic joints. Very sturdy – no worries about baby getting out or dog getting in. Easy enough to assemble – bit fiddly but with a bit of wiggling around, once the joints hit the right spot they lock in nicely. The mat is a decent thickness, and attached very securely with ties as well as elastic around the poles. Very happy with this.

A little tricky to assemble due to having to get it to stand-up whilst assembling. Also, you have to remember to hook the corners of the play mat under the corner poles before assembling the rest. But these are minor points. A pain to get the mat off when it needs washing though! Very sturdy when up and in daily use. Still looks like new and gate easy for adults to operate. A bargain from Amazon’s Warehouse deals.

I’m really pleased with the BabyDan Playpen. We only have a small living room and this fits well, doesn’t take up too much floor space and looks attractive – as well as doing the job of keeping baby safe. I like the thin bars so it’s open and airy – we put our daughter in it and she wasn’t worried. Will definitely be looking at more BabyDan products.

Easy to assemble, sturdy. The baby mat is soft and the ties are great amusement for the little one. The gate and the flexibility to switch between a fireplace guard and a playpen are key.

5.0 out of 5 stars Sturdy, stylish & user friendly

This is a fantastic product. My year-old son loves sitting safely inside it, and the grey mat inside it feels lovely and soft. One slight gripe is that the mat is tied to the frame, rather than having easier to detach poppers, which would make washing it easier.

Sturdy and secure which is exactly what I need for my 1 year old escape artist! A little tricky assembling, you need to align the markers exactly in order for them to slot in, but everything else very easy. Comfy mat for baby to sit on. Big enough for my little one to crawl around and the bars are good for him to grip onto. Very happy and would recommend.

Product is very study and easy to put together – for someone strong / capable enough, it is easy to disassemble and reassemble in different shapes.

Also has a slight problem with the cushion, but contacted customer services and within a very short amount of time they completely solved the problem.

    Fantastic product, fantastic brand.

Golden Review Award: 21 From Our UsersI used this as a playpen only so far.

    Packaging-
This was OK. The outer box could have been sturdier. In my order, the outer box was damaged a bit, but the product remained in tact.

    Quality-
Acceptable. I cannot see the product breaking down anytime soon.

    Assembly-
Fairly straightforward. One thing to remember is that you need to keep the arrowhead of 1 panel aligned to the line of the next panel, and you can create the perfect pentagon very easily. I have attached a diagram to explain this. The picture shows 2 adjacent panels.

One other area you may slightly struggle is when securing the poles with the elastic bands at the 5 corners of the pentagon.

    Usage-
Fairly easy to use on a day to day basis. It’s easy to take down from pentagon mode ( will take about 5 minutes, since you have to untie the 10 knots at the bottom). Putting up again (when you get used to it ) can be done in 5 minutes.

    Instructions-
Come in a small pictorial manual. A link to an official video, would have been better though. With the diagram alone, you may struggle to grasp the way of accurately setting up the pentagon.

    Final words-
All in all a good and sturdy product which has no major issues which I encountered.

    Good playpen!

Great playpen. Easy to put up and just the right size. The may is also great as it has soft padding around the inside edge of the pen, which has cushioned my little one tumbling a couple of times. The inside isn’t as cushioned but does protect a little from the hard floor. Easy to wash, did mine on just a cold quick wash and came up fine. Not too heavy to move around room if needed.

Nothing to dislike about this product .We actually purchased it for our pug after spinal surgery .We knew a child pen would be safer than a puppy pen .Easy to assemble very robust and the play mat is a bonus . i would recommend this playpen to parents and dog owners

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersJust assembled this playpen. Instructions fairly easy to follow, though fail to point out the helpful markings on the connectors designed to make sure you assemble at the correct angle so you end up with a perfect pentagon.
Would have given 5 stars but for the fact that the stitching on one of the elastic tags on the mat that go around the corner posts is not attached correctly so already coming to pieces (see photo)

Good but concern over longevity of Mat fastenings

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI’m very satisfied with BabyDan Playpen. My child is now four months old and when I put him in a Babydan playpen he start rolling. There is enough space for child and for toys. Only critic is that you can’t easy open a door with one hand, sometime I manage can usually you need both hands.

5.0 out of 5 stars I'm very satisfied with BabyDan Plaype

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersI previously had some other brand of play pan (dreambaby or similar) – this I found better as the catch mechanism is more secure – and has a wider opening which was important as our last one was a bit too narrow. That was fine for kids to go in and out of but once I tried to put in a kids snug area the width proved to be an issue for us adults…

Can be flexed into different configuration and comes with a decent mat which is good.

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersExtremely sturdy and a bit heavy, very reassuring! Little ones can use it to lift themselves up to a standing position with no risk. The rug is attached to the bottom which makes it one piece, very useful. The door is a bit difficult to use for us but we seem extraordinarily incompetent with anything baby-proof. Very much recommended anyway!

  36. Mike Epstein says:

Good and sturdy playpen. Fairly easy to put together although definitely easier with two people as the corner poles are fiddly to catch through the loops on mat singlehandedly. The gate catch is a little stiff, I struggle a little when working with one hand hence 4 stars not 5. Perfect safe place for your mobile little one if you have to leave the room

I love this playpen. We borrowed one for our first son but when our second came along we decided to buy our own. It’s great for when we need to put our son down but need him to be in the same place when we get back. He enjoys playing with the gate too, when we’re there to make sure he doesn’t get hurt. I’ve left my youngest in the playpen only to come back and discover my eldest in there with him reading him a story!

Bought the Baby Dan Playpen primarily on the back of the excellent reviews. Was very happy with the quick delivery and easy assembly. The grey padded mat is a great addition to the playpen and we have very quickly got comfortable letting our 9 month old play knowing she is safe. The sides can be joined together to create a safety barrier fence rather than a pentagon which is likely to extent the lifespan of the product. Very satisfied with the produc

good size well made but it not the one to keep putting up and taking down, build it and keep it up.Once built rather too big to move about the house as it wont go through doors.

My baby started to crawl at 6 months old so this playpen helps a lot when I can’t keep an eye on her. It also help her to practice her standing position as she uses the bars as support. It has enough space for her to play and spend some time with her toys. It was also very easy to set up and looks high-quality.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersUsed it for a few months and no complaint at all. Very sturdy, comfortable and safe for the little one. Never tried to be in the pen with my little one.

I bought it for my stairs. Could have bought Babydan L, but wasn’t sure if it would fit the opening. Description stated to use XL for more that 170cm opening, which is not correct. So I decided to buy the playpen and see how we would use it. 3 pieces are enough for a 2m opening. It is sturdy and I don’t think baby can pull it off. It’s a little tricky to open, you have to pull it up and then back, but you get used to it.

I don’t know if I would use it as a playpen, because I would rather choose something bigger. Or I would fix it on walls to secure a bigger space than 120cm. We have twins and everything looks small!

Now, I’m using the mattress in the living room so babies can sit down and play, when they wish… Wall fitting are not included, as stated in the description, so you have to buy them separately. For me Babydan served its purpose!

My 9 month old daughter will happily sit and play in this whilst. Has a nice comfy base which ties on to the playpen. Will also fit wide gaps so we bought it also to keep her away from the Aga. Great colour too – I hate the white finish ones, this blends in really well and does not look unsightly. Also a great way to keep toys contained. Really good value and really sturdy have had no issues with it.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersAt first I thought it was a bit expensive, but after I bought it I realized it is worth every pound.
The size is just right, big enough for my baby to be comfortable with many of her toys, but small enought that it doesn’t take up all of my leaving room. The matt that comes with the playpen is great! Overall it looks so good that I don’t mind having it in the leaving room when I have visits.
I’ve only used it as a playpen, but I am looking forward to trying the other versions.

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersI spent a lot of time trying to decide what type of play den to get. I had my heart set on a wooden one, worried that metal ones look harsh or cold. Glad I went with this one. Looks good! I got this today and it took no time to put together. Took about 5 minutes. It feels very sturdy and the size is big enough but not too big. The mat looks expensive and I like the grey colour. I would recommend using a mat or blanket underneath when not used on carpet.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersLooks good in white. Actually adds something to room decor. Baby can see out and can use bars to practise pulling up and walking with support. Very sturdy. Gate a useful feature as saves straining back – you can walk in to pick up child. Adult can also go into playpen with baby – not a lot of room with grown-up in there but allows you to help baby acclimatise to new space. I did this a few times and now my wee one will happily play there while I get dinner ready. I found initial assembly quite fiddly but fortunately don’t need to move from room to room or store each night. Perhaps it gets easier to fold up and down. Bought this to replace a square mesh type playpen – BabyDan is pricey in comparison but worth it. Will last years. N.B. The 5 sided BabyDan is the latest version. They will no longer be making the 6 sided version. Worth considering in relation to spares.
