Best clippers bought, easy to use, long battery life would definitely recommend
Cut my hair just great. However, it has this crazy design fault, where the on / off button is right down at the bottom of the clippers. Not very ergonomic! It would make so much more sense, to have the on / off button switch where the thumb naturally rests when cutting your hair. Other than that, great product and great results. Very happywould definitely recommend it! Leezie.
Had this for 5 years now and it’s still working!! Battery life isn’t what it was but to be expected
Didn’t tug, had a smooth easy cut, easy to cut hair.
2 years and still going strong. Used daily in busy shop. Cannot fault.
I like the battery life of this model. My previous Panasonic model’s battery life was a joke but Panasonic gets 5 stars for easy of use… in the Panasonic no need to change clips for different size cuttings … here we hv to change everytime plus the start stop button on this model of babyliss is in the wrong place… Otherwise its top quality.
After buying 2 different unbranded clippers during the Covid lockdown, which were completely useless and didn’t cut at all before falling apart, I finally learned my lesson and bought a decent brand. The difference is incredible. These clippers trim beards and cut hair completely effortlessly. They feel well balanced in my hand, charge quite quickly and come with blade oil and a box for keeping all the attachments handy. It’s 100% worth paying a bit extra for.
Bought it to trim my hair (follically challenged on the top). Does what it’s supposed to do. I don’t use a guard and would have preferred it to cut a little closer.
I’m not a barber and I am not an expert, so my opinion is just experienced based after using it. It does it job proprerly, it has a reasonable price and I have been using it for 4 months and it worked perfect.
Very easy to use . best feature is the wireless use . it also does not pull your hair while getting a haircut unlike most products out there. Recommend people to buy if you want a reliable and durable hair clipper.
To date Pleased with machine, does a good job, appear/ feels well made, good selection of cutting guards.
shame it didn’t come with proper case like my previous one ( earlier model of, which I had for many years before it died).
Not had this long enough to fully mark, but for now 4 stars
It’s alright. I’ve bought it s couple of months ago, just because there is no barber open these days.
It does the job, but it’s getting hot after 2 minutes. I mean really hot, almost uncomfortable when in direct contact with your years or the back of your head.
But, if you bear that, it’s ok
Batter life good. Shape makes it very easy to handle. Cut is very good and it’s also easy to tidy everything away and get the box to close when you have finished. The carry box also appears quite robust and compact compared to my previous clippers.
I am no expert but this seems like a high quality hair clipper at least similar to the ones used in barber shops. More expensive than others but I wanted something that would be robust as have had cheaper ones in the past alwhoch have struggled with thick hair and needed regular re-charging. Very pleased with this purchase. The grade numbers on the attachments are difficult to read which nearly led to a hair mistake but that is a minor gripe.
I’ve been cropping my hair and beard at Number 1 for over 30 years. These are really good clippers. Some clippers have snagged at the dense hear in the depression at the base of the skull, these fly through no problem – powerful. I’ve never used them for more than 20 minutes at a time so I can’t honestly comment on how long a charge lasts, but I haven’t experienced any fade. They are quiet. They look and feel great.
The guards are Truly excellent! Compare with the Wahl guards from my last clippers. As you can see they are much more substantial. You squeeze the sides to clip them on and they are very firmly attached. Basically they don’t come off. Also the lever for extending and retracting the blade is nice and stiff, and as you can see if it ever became loose you could tighten it up with an Allen key. Those were two of the issues that I had with my Wahl clippers, both of which will ruin your trim.
Best clippers I have ever owned.
Excellent hair cutter and trimmer with a full range of attachments to ensure hair is cut to required length. Being cordless it is easy to use with no need to be near a power source. Well made and durable.
Proving very helpful as we continue through lockdown.
Great bit of kit with a great range of lengths and the particularly useful and easy to use tapers/ cutters for round your ears. I now wouldn’t buy anything that didn’t have these as part of the kit.
Box is good but the inset a little flimsy – but absolutely better than nothing or a cheap bag.
I would recommend.
Love these !
Already own some Wahl clippers which are amazing but corded so not ideal for travel or when there is no power available.
Came in a storage box with the snap on guides and charger.
The product is great and very quiet. The real review must come from my spouse who is the barber..So far it is good and quiet. Cannot comment on the battery life yet as we used it only once. We will keep you posted…
Lockdown fever. I’m not especially fussed about my hair as long as it’s tidy but lockdown gets to even me! I needed to crop the mop and I wanted a decent quality set of clippers to do it with. Babyliss was about the only make I could think of as being broadly sensibly priced quality goods. Amazon had a discount on these bad boys, so I took the plunge.
Having all sizes 1-8 is very helpful indeed. Being my first ever solo haircut I admit I was nervous about the potential results! Started with an 8 all over then trimmed the sides and back down to 2. It worked really well. This might be my new normal, you know.
Really pleased with the quality of these clippers and the battery life is more than enough for my needs. Nice carry case and all the bits feel solid – should last well. Very much recommended.
I was hesitant in buying these because I would normally go for for the Wahl brand but but I went with these based on on a recommendation from a friend and I have to say this is a decent set of clippers
The charge lasted more than long enough for a haircut. Too soon to comment on the overall longevity of the battery, but I’m happy to assume that the quality is in line with the rest of the equipment.
Most important thing is that my wife (who has cut my hair for more than forty years) is delighted with this product, and she didn’t tug my hair once!
The product is excellent, I felt like a real barber at home , I like also the box and the way the accessories were arranged in the box. However it wasn’t clear to see on the little instructions book, the different parts of the item where to put the oil before to start cutting my son’s hair. Also there was no apron.
I have a Babyliss professional corded set which is a couple of decades old, but thought it was time for some cordless freedom seeing as it was getting a lot more use since Covid lockdown and I was getting fed up hooking up an extension lead all the time!
I was about to purchase a Wahl but decided against as it lacked an adjustment lever and glad I ended up with this little beauty.
Out of the box there was sufficient charge to give myself a short back and sides. Despite being battery powered, this had no issues cutting through my over-grown hair and even comes with gradient guides which make blending from a grade 1 to longer hair a breeze.
This does lack scissors and a decent brush, and the interior of the case has rather flimsy plastic, but those are minor points as the tool itself is great.
After the initial 2 hour charge, I used the machine to remove my lock-down beard. It works brilliantly well, it is easy on the hand as it is particularly light but is also surprisingly powerful. It has just started to snow – maybe I should have kept my beard? No worries, this machine is my best buy of the year!
Loads of different size combs/clipper attachments. Easy to use. Perfect for lockdown haircuts. Batteries last a long time. Come with a sturdy storage box ti keep it together + tidy
Brilliant item. I had used a beard trimmer previously to cut my hair thinking it was no different.
I ordered this whilst on offer and man oh man, I would pay double! It has made my hair look compatible with a barber cut. Even my wife said “you can’t go to the barbers in lock down” which was a good accusation given I done the job myself.
Good upgrade for me, I would say if you want to upgrade from more standard cheaper clippers then these are good to move up to, easy to use and charge up and provides a good close cut. The travel and storage box is also useful.
These work really well. Blades are sharp and leave a tidy cut, no left over long hairs.
I have been told by unkind family that my hair is courser than that of a horse. I have been accused of breaking our dog clippers. These clippers sail through, no problem.
No hesitation in recommendation.
I
Great quality product. I’ve given 5 stars under ‘lightweight’ but that category is perhaps misplaced, I gave it a good score because it’s reassuringly weighty as opposed to lightweight.
Cuts well with sharp blades. I’ve had a few cheaper clippers over the last few years and it’s definitely worth paying that little bit extra for the jump up in quality.
Good quality build and an effortless cut. It loses 1 star as the #8 comb guide is just not long enough for my liking. Shame there is not an option to buy a 35-40mm guide
Can’t really say how long the batteries last for as yet as I tend to have it charged before use as I don’t wanna be left ‘short’ when I need it the most. but i used them for over 40 minutes and it didn’t seem to die down either so would of gone on longer.
I wouldn’t say it’s necessarily a lightweight tool but I wouldn’t want it to be.. its a good strong weight.. it’s certainly not heavy.. it’s just about spot on in my opinion.
It’s a great item and I’m really pleased with it so far. Good quality and really easy and simple to use. The case is particularly handy as it has set locations for the clipper extensions.
All round really happy with it. Lil tricky to clean out of hairs properly tho.. the little brush it comes with doesn’t seem to reach far. 9/10 for me.
Absolutely fantastic, got this to do my beard because the smaller ones just kept breaking. This is amazing, literally no effort trimming my thick beard. Don’t bother buying those small ones over and over go for this that’s a bit extra but will last so much longer.
I bought this hair clipper as a gift for my husband. This is my second item from the same BaByliss. And this time I didn’t make a mistake, I bought a good thing. I cut my husband’s hair at home. The hair clipper loads quickly and can be trimmed for a long time. Easy and simple to use, cuts well and fast. Japanese steel blades is sharp. Edging and shaping the neckline and around the ears can be done safely, small length adjustments with the taper control lever. 10 x comb guides of different lengths and styles, hard plastic case . We are happy with this purchase and hope to use it for a long time.
I thought I would wait to do my review to give this trimmer a proper go, it said on the box it would do at least 8 to 10 haircuts, I can tell you I bought in Jan 2019 it’s now Dec 2020 and I have charged it once, I have my hair done on a number 1 or2 at least once a month summer twice a month and this is the best hair trimmer I have had in 30 year’s.
It comes with lots of cutters far more than normal trimmers and not having the cord is great, it’s slightlyire in price than a corded trimmer but 100% worth the money would I recomend it yes would I buy it again well who wouldn’t ibeould be mad not too, if your looking for a series hair trimmer with a super long battery life buy this one you won’t be sorry
Unbelievable how Good these are, i have really thick hair so alway put off buying a cordless clipper as ones i have tried have either gotten stuck or power fades, used these today cut both by boys hair and then mine without charging in between super smooth really powerful and doesn’t get hot. Really good quality clippers. Actually shocked how good they are 5* produc
This wasn’t cheap, I think it was one of the more expensive clippers when I purchased. But with the start of covid and the potential for no haircuts for months I bought this for myself and my dad. We’ve been using since March and it’s probably the best investment I made since the start of lockdown. Extremely easy to use, does a great job, and perhaps most importantly made me realise how much money I’d been wasting over the years going to the barber. I can do my head in five mins in the garden (I don’t even bother with a mirror now). There’s no variability – unlike the barber where you might get the guy who had too much to drink the night before. Battery life seems good, overall highly recommended.
Been using these for a long while now (well my lovely wife has!) and I’m still really happy. They cut really well, there’s a good variety of attachments for my needs, the battery life is excellent, having no lead is superb. The included vile of oil leaks, so that’s annoying but not a major fault. A cap for the head when not in use would’ve been nice but it’s all in a handy carry case. I’d definitely recommend this.
I can’t speak for the longevity of these as I’ve only had them for a month but so far I’ve been very impressed. With the barber’s being closed due to Covid 19 I needed to cut my own hair. I initially couldn’t find any clippers for sale as everyone was in the same boat and Amazon and others were sold out. Then these Babylis clippers suddenly became available so I jumped at the chance. So far I’ve been very impressed. They are sturdy, light weight and easy to use. Cutting head seems to be very good quality and there is an excellent range of attachments for different lengths of cut. Reasonable quality case but the insert to hold the clippers and attachments is low quality vacuum formed plastic. That is a very minor quibble though.
Even if it only lasts for 10 haircuts it will still be cheaper than 10 visits to my barber but I think they will still be going strong for a few years.
I purchased these clippers during the U.K. lockdown period, and have used them twice so far. No problems whatsoever. I was a little apprehensive about purchasing them at first, after reading a couple of the one star reviews. However, I went for them as I was desperate for a haircut, and have had no issues with them at all. They charge up perfectly well, they are also cordless (or corded if you prefer), really lightweight and very very easy to use. They come in a nice tidy plastic box, where all of the attachments store nicely and easy to select. Would definitely recommend this set of Babyliss clippers.
A solid well made product that does the job with ease. Cuts without catching my hair and current battery life at new is good and as advertised. Trim guards are great although some instructions on using the left and right sideburn trimmers would be useful not sure how to use those yet. Good to have the case but it remains to be seen how long the plastic catch will last (feels like it will break after a little bit of use – we will see) I can recommend this product it’s just what I needed and does the job without fuss.
Very impressed
Combs are very sturdy and go from 1 to 8 that about 1mm to 25mm in increments. Comes in a nice case too.
Possibly a bit over priced but i will consider this the covid tax. Probably not good enough quality for professional but for light use i can imagine this lasting a long time as long as the battery holds out.
Would recommend to anyone looking for a set to use for light use.
Good quality and easy to use with the freedom of cordless.
Battery lasts well to.
The guides fit well and work well.
Had a couple of trimmers but I think this is the best one so far.
Very good trimmer prob the best ever had, precision is sharp and battery life is great, has been running on a single charge for two months now, used for children’s hair. The cordless aspect makes this a must, the blades are very high quality. With so many others out there not up to performance this one will not let you down. Guaranteed to last you many years. Only wish I got this earlier.
I bought these over other choices due to them being very light, and I travel a lot. They are easy and comfortable to use, and the charge lasts for ages. My only gripe is that I didn’t notice when ordering that the smallest comb is grade 1 and I usually use 0.5. I’ve had many clippers in the past and they all had a 0.5 comb so I didn’t think to check.
The carry case is very big (with space for all the accessories), in my case too big, so I bought a Rough Enough soft case for when I’m travelling. https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B011IM4QPI/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I am very happy with this purchase. I used to have cheaper machines but the result was that the plastic combs ended up breaking so I had to search, order and replace them every now and then. Also, since those plastic heads/combs were of cheap material, you could get unwanted lines of hair “chewed” by them in your head. With BaByliss Super Clipper I have no more such problems. The materials are robust and the machine seems professional.
The battery life is more than enough. I get my hair done within 30 minutes so I can reuse it for 4-5 times at least. The case is very handy and contains all that you need.
Overall I am very satisfied with this purchase. The price is just a bit higher than I would hope but, still, the quality makes me have no regrets.
Was a little nervous about doing my own hair but baulking at the price of upkeep for my undercut. After lots of research of mid range cordless clippers I decided on this one as had lots of positive reviews and the only negative reviews related to battery life – and I’d rather a battery that dies than a set of clippers that rip chunks out of my head! Used for the first time and no problems. Nice clean and even cut – grade 1. knocked off a star as the inside of the case is that terrible flimsy plastic that moves around and is impossible to store the pieces securely in so I’ve ripped that out and everything is loose in there, plus the numbers on the clipper combs are quite difficult to read, but a minor hassle and now I’ve found the grade 1 I can set that aside. Couldn’t quite figure out how the left and right ear taper combs worked so I didn’t bother!
This clipper is good and gets the job done. Only few drawbacks:
1. Little heavier than other similar items
2. Sharpness in cutting hair in not as expected meaning compared to other clippers I had this clipper cuts the hair a little slower which causes me to go over the area few times over.
3. Little behind on technology, I had a Philips Series 9000 hair clipper before this one and it had a digital control with over 400 length settings and I paid much less around 40 for it.
Apart from these things it is a very well built clipper and I am still using it as it does what I want it to do. I’d recommend it to anyone who is happy with a standard old school clipper that does nothing but cut your hair when switched on.
I tend to cut my own hair, “crewcut” style, and these clippers are great for this task. It comes with a variety of comb sizes, including blending combs. I used to have a cheap pair but they didn’t last long. So I spent a bit more and got these, and they have not let me down since I got them last year. Comes with a small tube of oil and cleaning brush too, along with charger and plastic carry case. The amount of money I have saved by not having to go to the barber to have my hair clipped far exceeds the cost of the clippers. Recommended.
Just purchased these and have to remark what a quality product feels just the right weight in the hand an cuts hair so easily with the various attachments provided. First time haircut from my wife and after a couple of tutorial videos on YouTube produced a haircut no different to a professional salon. The clippers feel just the right weight in the hands and the blade clipper movement cuts the hair with no pulling or snagging. Delighted with these and wish I had brought some many years ago.
These Babyliss XTP clippers are the best I’ve used and so superior to my previous two products as to make comparison futile.
* They charge easily and stay charged for 75 minutes’ cordless running time, with a quality battery that doesn’t die after a few weeks of use; you can also use them straight off the mains
* The clipper blades are finely machined, effective and very well designed; they don’t tug at your hair but glide through smoothly and effortlessly to produce a perfect result every time
* There is a good range of 8x comb guides grade for different grades, right down to the ultra-short number 1
The instructions recommend oiling the blades, and a small tube of oil is supplied for the purpose. This is probably a good idea to ensure continued high performance, but I forgot to use the oil the first three times the clippers were used and they worked fine all the same.
If you’ve had cheap and troublesome clippers before then you’re going to be amazed at the difference with these. The only slight criticism might be the injection moulded plastic case and its insert, which have (especially the insert) a cheap and fragile feel to them.
This arrived in a plastic hard-shell case, in which I found the clippers, power lead and plug, a selection of plastic ‘grader’ heads, a small tube of blade oil, and a tiny blade brush.
The clippers take a charge quite well and don’t seem to need more than an hour or two to be ready for extended use, and they cut very close, which is a plus. The graders clip onto the blades quite well, and the clippers are a sensible light weight but feel like they’re a decent solid quality when in the hand.
The quality of the cutting and performance has stayed high throughout multiple cuts. My only irritation is the flimsy plastic inner-shell that every sits on, inside the hard outer case. It’s the kind of quality that you usually find inside a box, cupping a cheap easter egg, and it tries to detach and move around every time you open the outer case, often knocking some of the grader-heads loose.
That is a very minor annoyance in a set that’s otherwise well worth the money, and I expect we’ll be relying on this for quite a while to come.
Excellent. I have previously bought cheaper clippers, and you can really feel the difference with this pair, which feels really premium / professional in comparison. So glad I bought – and I wont go back to the cheaper ones again. It just feels the the proper professional job that a hairdresser would have. Good battery, good blade, excellent taper control. The combs are easy to attach/detach. Feels good in the hand, and gives good even contact across the head. Literally no complaints at all. I’ll only be looking to buy this again or future versions of this again in the future – but I imagine this will last for a long time.
Received it with loose blades so it made a huge amount of noise in the open position and the adjustment lever would fall from closed to open during use within seconds. The hex bit/allen key to tighten this should really be included in the accessories as without it people would likely return in many cases. Other than that it cuts well and feels good quality
Bought on Sale for 46.99, is perfect for cutting my hair, and can even trim facial hair well! Only criticism I have is it doesn’t have a 0.5 guard but I did buy one separately (Wahl) which does work despite it not fitting on 100%. I opted against cheaper clippers as I wanted to experience professional quality and I’m already in profit from the amount of haircuts I have gave myself for free than I would have wasting it on my clueless local barbers.
Ordered one of these originally to use on our springer spaniel, as I was looking for a rechargeable battery clipper that doesn’t make much noise, as our old dog clippers were too noisy and freaked him out, and being corded they were very restrictive. This one does the job perfectly – in fact we soon noticed that it cut the dog’s fur much better than our current Philips human clippers cut hubby’s hair, and my husband wasn’t impressed that the dog has better kit than him! So have just ordered another one for hubby.
Highly recommend for both human and pet use.
Purchased this as replacement to 20 yr old Remington clipper. Have used this Babyliss clipper 3 times and it’s a lot better than I expected it to be. As for only giving it 4 stars, on the inside of the hard plastic case, the inner moulding is cheap THIN plastic that the clipper and its accessories are placed in. When I open the top lid the inner moulding comes away from the lid every time as it’s only held on by a small sticky tape thats lost its stickiness. Babyliss could have done better with inside moulding of case. It’s lucky I kept old Remington case thats slightly smaller than Bayliss case and it can hold all that I need to use: new clipper/charger/cleaning brush/No1 comb guide.
My first ever Clipper was a BaByliss which i bought back in end of 2003 spending 19. I used it for a bit longer than a year and then given to my nephew who lives in Asia. Initially he was very happy with its performance but unfortunately Clipper did not last even 6 months. The rubber outer cover started melting and then machine stopped working all of a sudden even with a minimum usage. Presumably due to the warm tropical weather.
Then back in 2005 i bought a Remington chrome plated Clipper which lasted till the end of last October (2017). Unfortunately its no longer working as it stopped charging. But no regrets as it served me well with a few glitches time to time. It was good but not powerful enough for a smoother job.
Nonetheless i always admired my first BaByliss Clipper as it was a compact and powerful enough for good hair trim. So i bought this Super Clipper XTP almost 3 times the price i spent in 2003. After having first hair trim a couple of weeks back, i found it was all i wanted. I charged around 3 hours for a full charge and it was powerful and found easy to use without a hassle. Comes in a well made plastic box with a variety of clip on gauges. Well made and side leaver to adjust the gauge as you wish. Somehow i found the Clipper is a bit noisy with compared to the first one hence 4 stars.I did not experience any heating up issues yet.
Overall am happy with the product and hopefully BaByliss will sort out noise and heating issues in their future models. This is probably the best in the market for this price and no hesitation of recommending to a friend.
Over the past 20 years or more I’ve had hair/beard clippers from most of the major brands. I’ve always ended up disappointed due to poor cutting ability and, usually, the batteries refusing to retain charge after a year or so. These Babyliss clippers are much, much better than any previous ones I have used. They clip reliably and cleanly so don’t require me to go over the same patch repeatedly to get an even finish. They cope well with fine head hair (what’s left of it!) and thick wiry facial hair and do not leave it looking chewed. One tip – buy extra clipper oil as I did and use every time.
