This cable is actually a lot thicker than the usual type c cable but I assume this is because of the thunderbolt capability. Unlike many other cables, this is not made of nylon fiber which actually made it get frayed and damaged a bit easier. You do get a longer length so you can be sure that the cable will provide you a good amount of slack. I could actually go a bit further with my laptop. I do not have to be right next to the external GPU which is great. It works pretty well with my external GPU and laptop. The cable has a pretty reliable feel and connections. This cable works well with thunderbolt port. You can plug it into a thunderbolt device or any type c port. Another thing about the cable is able to sync and charge my device without issues. It has no connection issues which is great for this laptop. Even if you happen to tap the cable a little bit, it does not lose connection. It does take a bit of force to plug the cable into the laptop and device the first few times. For charging, be aware that the actual charging capacity of the cables are dependent more on what outlet you are using. If you are using a fast charging port or a wall outlet you will actually get a faster charge then you would from a laptop USB. When plugged directly into my mac, it actually charges pretty quickly but again depends on the outlet you are using. The cable do not have any issues with heating or connection. The cable itself is longer than standard three feet. In terms of durability, it does you do have to worry about the cable getting frayed or anything. The cable is SUPER thick but pretty easy to consolidate. There is no tie which is a bit of a bummer. A nice thing about the material color is that you cannot see it get visibly dirt which is great. The color of the cable has yet to fade from overall use. The cable is able to transfer about the same speed as a traditional type c to type c cable or at thunderbolt speeds. This did work as a charging cable for my mac but only when I needed it to be. I would not actually recommend using this for that purpose unless it is your only option. Overall I think this cable is pretty nice. It is longer than your traditional cable but not by much. It is a thicker but definitely not the most durable cable. It actually frayed a little bit which is annoying.
I spent months tracking down plenty of issues with my Thunderbolt 3 eGPU setup: stutters, the occasional BSOD, audio issues, performance problems, everything. I finally bit the bullet and purchased this cable and bam, all my issues are fixed for the most part.
It’s a good investment. If you’ve ever had issues, this cable is a reasonably high quality fix. Plugs are high quality and fit nice and snug in my ports, so that’s a plus.
I’m using this to connect a MacBook Pro to one of two Dell 4K displays. Compared to the 1-meter USB-C cable that came with the monitor, this Belkin cable is thinner, lighter, and more flexible. And twice as long, of course. The cable sheath has a matte finish with a soft feel. It’s a nice cable! Works as expected for 4K60 video + USB data.
The plugs do feel a little less solidly snug than other USB-C cables I own — they have just a bit of wiggle if you try to shift them around when plugged in, but they don’t slip out. I can see this worrying someone who has to move things around a lot, but it isn’t a problem for my system that stays on my work desk.
I use this cable on my Mac Studio Max with the Sony Inzone M9 4k monitor. Unlike either the HDMI or DP cable, I was able to get 4k 144hz. One reviewer mentioned that the USB C head was loose. It’s true. You probably wanna tie it down with a Velcro.

This is a very good quality thunderbolt cable. It’s thick without being inflexible. The connectors click securely and don’t wobble as well. The ends are marked with the thunderbolt symbol and the number 4 to indicate that this is a Thunderbolt 4 cable. Of course it also works on 3 as well. I’ve been pleased with the durability as well.
Purchased this cable to hook my eGPU enclosure to my laptop because the included cable that came with it was only 3ft. So far this cable functions just as good as my original shorter cable that i have, and at a fair price for the length. Was going to purchase a similar cable from Apple for over double the price, but I’m glad I decided to give Belkin a try!
10/10 I would buy this again!
Used this with an Asus M16 laptop to Razer TB4 dock. It works flawlessly and is built like a tank… exactly what you want in a TB4 cable, and not much else that needs to be said.
This review is for Belkin Active Thunderbolt 4 Cable (2M/6.6FT). I like Belkin products overall. I don’t think I have ever run into a Belkin product that I didn’t like. This is a proper and high-quality Thunderbolt 4 cable. I am moving my entire computer environment over to Thunderbolt 4, and high-quality cables like these are a necessary part of that setup. Sadly, everything Thunderbolt is higher cost, but Thunderbolt 4 is currently the best connection available. In the world of Thunderbolt 4, the price for a quality cable like this is fair. Thunderbolt 4 cables carrier a lot of data and power, so it is not worth getting sub-par quality to save a few dollars. This is a great cable, and it is a great addition to a Thunderbolt 4 setup.
Have this hooked up to a Thunderbolt dock that does USB-C PD, DP Alt Mode, and Data – I have 3 1080p monitors, one being 240hz, and power delivery at 100W without any issue. The cable itself clearly can drive the data without much issue and the quality of the cable overall makes it feel like it’s worth its money. Now, compared to the overpriced Apple Thunderbolt 4 cable, it doesn’t feel nearly as fancy, but it feels solid on plug-ins and does what its advertised to do (which is sometimes an issue for USB-C Thunderbolt Cables).
I’ve been using this to charge my XPS 13 off a 100W power brick. For that purpose, it serves me well, but I do have one interesting observation from my usage.
I have one other TB4 cable, a 1-ft AmazonBasics cable they discontinued, and a 10-foot USB3.2 cable. The USB3.2 has less theoretical bandwidth and power delivery but is exceptionally long, so its cable gauge is thick as a tree trunk. The AmazonBasics cable is half as short and has the same theoretical throughput, yet thicker and stiffer than this Belkin cable. That is to say:
I’m not sure how Belkin pulled off making this TB4 cable 2-ft and yet this soft and pliable, but I’m impressed. It’s undoubtedly a pricy cable, but you can’t go wrong with this if you need the power delivery or data bandwidth.
I finally had the opportunity to use this when using Apple’s Migration Assistant to move information from an 8GB RAM Mac Mini to a 16GB RAM Mac Mini this past week. Unfortunately, I didn’t think to write down or take pictures of the data transfer rates, but… I was able to switch between Wi-Fi, ethernet cable and this Thunderbolt 4 Cable. It was interesting to see the difference in speed of data transfer between the Wi-F- & the ethernet cable, but then I remembered I had this Thunderbolt 4 Cable. This thing is FAST, FAST, FAST! From a value perspective, I think $70 is a little rich for a cable. On a side note, if you have never used the Apple Migration Assistant, it is amazing. We’ve all probably moved data from one computer to another or to & from the cloud, but the Migration Assistant literally cloned my computer. When it was done, my email map already had my four emails with their passwords, etc., everything worked flawlessly!
Thunderbolt 4 Cables are expensive. Apple cables are easy to trust but their 6-foot cable is $129. I was excited to find that Belkin had released their cable for nearly half the price at only $70.
The cables themselves are perfectly functional. They are pretty basic and have compact connectors and a standard plastic sheathing (not braided). The cables are perfectly functional for anything I tried including hard drives and video. The 6.6-foot cable is great for being able to move your accessories a little farther away from your computer and clearing more desktop space. I was pleased to be able to move my dock off of my desktop.
Overall happy with the “Belkin Active Thunderbolt 4 Cable (2M 6.6FT), USB Type C Connection with 100W Power Delivery PD Enabled, USB 4 Compliant and Compatible with TB3 Compatible with MacBook Pro, eGPU, and More”. It is much more affordable than other brands available and from a well-respected brand.
This active thunderbolt 4 cable from Belkin is reliable and high quality. Data transfer is FAST! It powers quickly and is compatible with most of my devices. Belkin is the only non-OEM brand that I trust for any type of cable or accessory. There’s a lot of junk floating around out there. Although this cable is more than generics, it’s half the price of an apple product. Recommended.
Extremely well made, durable, and powerful – everything we want from a data transfer and charging cable. Still hard to justify the price tag.
Nice build quality, feels sturdy and shielding feels thick. Still pretty flexible. Connectors are easy to grip.
Performance is the main thing with a high end cable.. and this performs well.
Tested charging some devices and it was able to PD charge a large external battery no problem. Sadly I don’t have a recent Macbook with USB-C power input to test with.
But the benefit of buying a better known brand like Belkin is a greater degree of trust in what they promise.
Also, this cable is sold by Apple themselves, who have tested it out and found it to be worthy of their shelves.
My testing for data transfers involved a TB3 sled and a WD Black NVME. The sled struggles to handle the speeds the SSD is capable of but I got above 920MB/s Write speeds (nice) and a pretty awesome 2,800MB/s for Read speeds. On the cheap, short TB3 and TB4 cables I’ve tried, I’ve see mixed results and slightly slower read speeds.
Value is a bit of a touchy subject with Thunderbolt 4 cables, especially longer ones. You’ll find plenty of cheap(ish) short TB4 cables (I’ve got some!) but mostly expensive longer cables because they need to be “active” (have chips managing the signal and preserving it over longer lengths). Apple’s own 1.8m cable is about $130, making this cable ($80 at the time of writing) a comparative bargain.
It’s primarily a data cable for professionals, who likely are looking to see if there’s a decent alternative to Apple’s cable for connecting their 8K displays or super fast DAS or eGPUs. It’s great for that purpose and I don’t see any reason to deduct any stars; this is a 5 star cable!
This is essential for anyone that works from home. I needed the perfect setup for my laptop and dual-screen to maximize productivity and this is a HUGE help! Great quality and price point!
This Thunderbolt 4 cable is just what I expected: it provides video, sound, data, and power at very high speeds. I need reliable well-built cables between my systems to move many TBs of data daily and so far, this cable is flawless. All my Belkin products have consistently provided excellent, reliable quality.

This cable works as expected, Belkin has always made excellent quality products in my experience. I have not run any speed tests but its definitely faster than my standard USB C cable. Good build and should last for years, and a much better value than something like an Apple branded cable.
This is a great cable. I thought for a while that any USB-C cable was a “thunderbolt” cable, and only found out otherwise when I tried hooking my wife’s laptop up to her new docking station and couldn’t get an image on her monitors. So now I know to be picky with my cables, and to test every aspect of them before trusting them with important tasks. And the bottom line is that this is a fantastic cable. It’s currently running 2 4K monitors, an HD webcam, and all kinds of peripherals, and can keep those things running on both her work computer and her current gen gaming laptop.
That said, hoo boy are you paying for that quality. This cable runs close to twice the price of comparable cables, and the only thing that makes it remotely worthwhile to me is having a solid brand name on it that I trust to stand behind their product.
Really love using this cable! It’s a rugged and sturdy, very reliable cable. The connections click in really nicely and is a bit thicker metal than a lot of USB-C connectors are. The best part clearly is the power in it. I’ve used several Thunderbolt 3 cables and a variety of other USB-C cables. This by far is the fastest one I’ve ever used. Transferring clips of 4k HDR 100bit video were nearly instant for anything less than a minute. Longer clips took a bit longer but still simnifically faster than any other cable I’ve tried by at least 67%. It also charges just as efficiently as it does transfer data. I’ve also used it to connect to a display and there were absolutely zero issues. This is a wonderful cable and although it’s a bit pricey that’s kind of the cost of Thunderbolt cables currently. If you need a Thunderbolt 4 cable though this is one of few I would absolutely recommend right now.
This is a Type-C cable that really does it all. Thunderbolt 4 certification and 40Gbps transfers make it ready for the latest docking stations and eGPU enclosures, while total compatibility with TB3 and USB3/4 provides excellent performance for existing devices.
This cable had no problem delivering full speeds and reliable operation with everything I tried, from external SSDs, to monitor hookup, to high-speed charging. The cable’s 2M length is very handy for reaching my Type-C devices, as my tower PC sits on the floor next to my desk.
Physically, the cable is nicely built, with a sturdy outer jacket and strain reliefs where the wiring meets the Type-C connectors. The wiring has excellent flexibility and doesn’t try to curl back up on its own. Some cables offer a decorative braiding on the outside, but this one keeps to a simple and straightforward design.
Overall, this cable supports everything that Type-C currently has to offer, and it has served me flawlessly thus far. It’s expensive, but the same is true of all Certified Thunderbolt 4 products, and you get what you pay for in terms of reliability and compatibility. Highly recommended.
This is a good quality cable, but like many thunderbolt cables it is on the pricey side. At 80 dollars for a 6 foot cable, this is one of the more expensive cables you have to invest into. It works and looks like a USB C cable but has more stringent requirements to allow for higher bandwidth and power ratings over the same distance. If you can get away with a 3 foot cable, I would suggest that you do that, but in my case, it was a tighter fit so I opted for getting this. I have a couple feet of slack as I needed 4 feet, but that is neatly tucked away under my desk. This cable runs from my thunderbolt hub, made by Anker, to my Dell XPS 9300 which is positioned on a arm for laptops so I can move it around as I need while doing work and study. Previously, I was using a Plugable thunderbolt 4 3.2 foot cable, but it wasn’t long enough and the rather heavy Anker thunderbolt dock wasn’t sitting flush, plus there was very little room for error when plugging that into my Dell and that is a expensive piece of hardware, so I thought it time to upgrade I was offered Belkin for free, though Plugable did offer a option for 6 foot, that cable is good but stiff.
I think the thing I like the most about this cable was how flexible it is. Price is a bit more than some others, but that flexibility is worth it.
This Thunderbolt 4 cable from Belkin is almost scary fast and is capable of transferring faster than most things that I can connect to it. I used this cable to dock my laptop and I noticed my external SSD was just as fast at transferring files as my internal drive. I am fairly certain that I was being bottlenecked by the external SSD’s interface. This cable was able to transfer data quickly and charge my laptop while docked with zero issues. This cable is definitely not cheap, however, if you want to have a seamless one cable docking experience then this cable is for you, it will have zero issues supporting your dock and accessories and is built well.
I’ve used my OEM Apple USB-C cable for iPad 12.9 and Macbook Pro 15-inch 2019 with Touch bar. Unfortunately, I have to say that the charging compatibility outreaches with Belkin since the current flows by the surface of the wire, and Belkin is significantly thicker and heavier than apply sharing cable with the same length of 2M or 6.6 feet.
Yes, the connector is thicker, but as you can see in the pictures, there are at least double connections compared with Apple’s charger.
Price: at the time of review, Belkin is $80.27, which is steep for a power cable. On the other side, this is not just an ordinary USB C cable. It is rated as type 4, which can supply up to 40 Gb/S.
I could not test this speed since my MacBook is only capable with USB C type 3, which is 6bg/s, a speedy and seamless transfer.
Finally, if you are looking for a charger, this might not be an option for you due to the price tag. However, this cable has so much potential, including the Power Devery for 100W devices.
I hope you found my review helpful.
