I originally ordered the XXL after looking at reviews but had to send back as it was too big. XL was perfect for me.
I’m a broad build at 197cm for information. Compresses down brilliantly and is super warm and comfortable
Bought for hiking. Went up snowden and it was great. Didn’t get cold and kept me dry. Definitely recommend
Nice warm jacket. I usually ignore advice to size up but in this instance I should have. I am skinny and found the fit too tight to be practical.
Great jacket and feels soft and comfortable to wear. The only drawbacks are the size is a little smaller than the XL I ordered, although a good excuse to lose a couple of pounds! And the jacket isn’t all the same material and therefore you couldn’t wear it as a coat because if it rained you’ll get soaked. However, very happy with the quality and have worn it a few times already.
Under the arms and body material starting to get bobbly
Overall very happy though it would be warmer tho very good fi
Love this jacket . Great quality. Perfect fit
Nice and warm. Great value for money.
Was bought for partner. Keeps him warm more than any other jacket. No complaints. Well made. XL a snug fit but can wear vest and light sweater underneath, no problem. So good we’ve bought another. Expensive even with big discount, but we’ll worth it. Suits a man who can show off his shape in it.
The fit and length.
The lines make your chest seem bigger and the fleece part at the side gives the impression your gut is smaller
Super quality feel and look
The hood fits around the head so well
Pockets super soft inside
Breathability. Especially under your arm pits the fleece is thin and lets your pits breath.
Disliked:
It lets out some of it’s down. This might be typical of a downey jacket(this my 1st) but I find little feathers around and on my layer under the jacket. It’s no biggie but makes me wonder if over time the down will reduce it’s warmth.
Warmth and wind protection. With a good under layer it’s fine. Add wind to the mix and it does get through pretty easily. However it’s not a big deal as I like to have layers and keep a rain shell for rain and wind.
The likes far outweigh the dislikes and I’m a Berghaus convert. This will be my gear of choice going forward if the price is right and also I’ve been told that they offer a lifetime repair service for free so that’s cool if it’s true
Great coat, breathable and keeps you warm!
I removed a star because I’m finding the down keeps coming out whenever I wash the coat. This makes me believe that the coat isn’t as waterproof as I would have hoped.
Even with only a t-shirt underneath this was still tight.
Recieved an XL today, good fit with a fleece on as well, glad I went back for it.
One thing to note; I had to go a size up, as it’s quite tight fitting
Great looking jacket and Great fit but as most things in life could be cheaper, because its very thin , but it is quality
I’m 6ft 1 and 14 stone, slim build with long arms and size Large fits me well. It is a snug fit but incredibly comfortable.
Jacket looks great, is shower proof (tested) and very light, so great to roll up and chuck in a bag.
Only gripe I have is sometimes the feathers make their way out of the seams – eventually it will be empty!
This is the sh!t but raincoat probably best in a down poor, get the correct size for you.. As I believe it will stretch enough to get another top under it, even tho not needed. I have been out with just a t-shirt on , its just the start of winter tho but has been icy with a good wind chill and I was like what wind.. What cold.. I may even move to a different country so I can wear it all year round
Material will tear if it catches on something. Fit is a little strange. I ordered two sizes and I’m between both. The arms on both are long and quite wide. I’m a muscular build too. Waste is tight but chest has room. (I understand that’s the fit of it but my chest inst classed as small) It’s also very thin and the feathers are already finding their way through on first casual wear. So taking into account how thin the jacket is there’s likely going to be not much left inside in about 6 months I’m guessing.
The concept of it is still quite good. I just think it hasn’t been put in place correctly. Saying all those negatives I’ve still decided to keep one of them.
I found it a little bit annoying that some of the down can put through the seams, it seems that every time I pick the jacket up there are a couple of bits of down poking through. I hope that over time the jacket doesn’t lose some of its effectiveness because of this. It’s not a very good jacket for water resistance and the water doesn’t bead off so I wouldn’t recommend in wet conditions beyond a light rain shower, it would be best to match with an impermeable outer shell. I’m not a huge fan of the rustling noise the jacket makes my arms move but this is a very OCD point.
