The Braun shaver is very well designed and lightweight and comfortable in your hand.It charges up quickly and the battery lasts well.The foil and cutter are static but remove your facial stubble effectively and can be rinsed off under the tap or with the supplied brush.I’ve used Braun shavers all my life and this version won’t let you down.

I only have the use of one arm/ hand so easiness of changing the cutting heads and cleaning are essential for me. This Series 5 is also an improvement on my old Series 3 on shave(although this was good) Both are extremely easy for me to use and maintain! Very happy with this!

Bought this to replace my latest long term Panasonic razor which needed a new battery plus cutters and foil. As usual it was cheaper to buy a new razor. It’s nice and light and charges quickly. Spare parts are half the price of the Panasonic.

First ‘stick’ razor I’ve had for a long, long time and I’m quite impressed. The last couple of rotary shavers haven’t been that impressive. The last Ronson I had died after only 5 months. This Bruan is easy to hold, quite powerful and gives a better shave than I’ve had for a while. Seems easy to clean and, so far, has kept its charge for seveal weeks.

Good all round shaver. Only major issue for me is having to remove actual shaving head to install trimmer head. Not sure how durable the ‘vibrating lugs’ will be, due to constant fit and removal of each head. Only time will tell.

I kept getting shaving cuts – I have a kind of tremor – and thought it was time to get an electric shaver, but was having a problem pressing the ‘buy’ button with a 300 price tag for a same-make series 7 shaver. Then I found I could get of these series 5 ones for 150, then Amazon suggested this one for half that!

It is very easy to use. I use it dry. It does not give shave as close a wet shave, but my beard is very coarse. it’s pretty good and I’m more than happy with it.

I owned a Series 3 Braun and it was ok. I got a bit fed up having to go over the same spot multiple times. It also weren’t great if I missed a day. I brought a new blade but it just seemed to be labouring. Brought the Series 7 and very impressed. It feels good in the hand and floats effortlessly over your skin. It does a good job first time resulting in a satisfying shave. Battery seems to be pretty good as well. Excellent results so far.

I had been having problems with wet shaving for some time. I had been thinking of getting an electric razor but thoughts of the models I had tried 20 plus years ago put me off.
This particular model however does an excellent job. I am not going back to wet shaving.

I have always hated shaving and have tried many different products, from wet shaving, Phillip, Braun etc

Fantastic it is the first time that I shaved and didn’t experience that razor burn feeling on my skin, and the shave is as good or equal to a wet shave in my opinion.

It only took me 25 years of trial and error to finally find a good shaver. Well done Braun!

I recently bought a Braun 7 series after years of buying Panasonic shavers.
The Braun does a good job but takes a little longer than my old razor.
I chose Braun because parts are much more affordable than my previous brand.

I bought this shaver nearly 2 years ago and waited to see how it performed over time. I liked the feel of the unit and it shaves smoothly and effortlessly. I even think it looks good! It would get 5 stars except for the cost of new shaverhead units. They should last 18 months but my red light came on after 12 and I feel that they are expensive to replace. I do have a warning here thouigh and please trust me I have no connections to Braun. – Due to the price of the head replacement I went on Amazon for alternatives and there are loads of cheaper ones purporting to be the same as Braun’s. Dont be mislead. Although they look identical I had to stop using 2 of them after a short period as the blades were rubbish, fitted poorly and kept pulling the hairs out instead of cutting them. Eye watering! They are clearly inferior and so I have resigned myself to the costlier Braun ones.

Apprehensive initially about making the switch from old school shaving to this new-fangled device but I need not have worried, it’s well-engineered, confortable to use and shaves as close as I will ever need. Takes a fraction of the time and effort compared to shaving with a traditional razor. Haven’t tried using it wet but can’t see much point to be honest, it does a fine job without using oils or cream. In a world filling up with not-quite-up-to-the-job tat this is a notably good design effort.

I was asked by my wife what I wanted for xmas and I decided I wanted a electric shaver but no idea what to get and left it up to her
not wanting to spend too much in case i didn’t get on well with it we settled on a braun series 5
knowing i was getting it for xmas and wanting to give it the best chance I decided to have a wet shave on xmas eve and use the shaver the very next day to keep on top of any growth

this biggest thing Ive found my chin didn’t feel like my chin it felt odd not in a bad way just different and on boxing day I went a bit mad with it and had 4 shaves in a day which caused me to have a razer burn
the only other downside was before I would only shave once every 10 or so days and now shaving every day I found my face was dry so I bought some aftershave balm which quickly cleared it up
but I am so impressed by it
my routine is when I wake up I turn on my pc and while reading emails in the space of 2 mins I’ve had a shave its as quick as any razer as I don’t allow any growth to build up and not used a razer for around 2 weeks now
it looks so good even my dad has ordered one

I don’t know what Braun have done here. I bought this to replace my previous series 7, so that the cleaning station and foil cutter (which I had just renewed) would be compatible.
The new s7 has arrived and is not compatible with the existing parts at all. It is a completely different shaver. Why not call it a series 7a or something. Very confusing.
That being said, in seems to be a very good shaver (early days) so I am keeping it.

Yes it is in my opinion a very good shaver, feels good and for me gives a good close shave.
The reason for the 4 stars instead of 5, (like others haven already mentioned) the instructions are a ridiculous waste of time.
When you receive a premium piece of kit like this, this last thing you want to do is break the head etc when trying to swap them. The instructions are a total let down. Couldn’t make out how long to charge etc?
But the shaver itself is very good, Braun should really be keeping on top of the finer details.

An excellent shaver. 5 minutes gives a smooth, close shave. While the shaver is good, I wish I could say the same for the instruction booklet. I had the previous model, the Pro-System Plus, and this had very good instructions, fully written and with good illustrations. The “instructions” with this model are rudimentary in the extreme. They consist almost entirely of illustrations, some quite confusing, with almost no written help. For example:
1. The replacement indicator (presumably referring to the shaving foil, has two pictures both showing the indicator, but with no text. As this is showing on my new razor, what is it supposed to tell me?
2. The cleaning indicator has no text. Does this mean I don’t have to clean it until the indicator shows?
3. The manual cleaning has no text. The illustration shows a spray bottle of unspecified liquid, but with no mention of how to apply it or frequency. I had hoped that when I ordered Braun’s own razor cleaner spray that would have instructions — but no, not a word.
4. The illustration showed oil being applied, with no instruction as to whether the razor should be run after applying it.
Come on, Braun. You have made an excellent shaver, why not have excellent instructions to go with it.

I decided to buy this razor to replace my older series seven. So far I am impressed. It gives a much closer shave and I find the flexibility of the shaving head a real bonus compared to my old shaver.

It comes with various kinds of stuff for designer stubble, which I’m sure some will find useful.

It recharges in no time and phase a decent battery life.
