This is so much better than I was expecting. I have always used Braun epilators, but I was concerned that the swivel head on this one might make it less controllable, but that isn’t the case at all. It’s great for all your curvy bits and the battery life is amazing! I’ve not charged it since I got it several weeks ago and I’ve used it on my legs twice and small areas like armpits, side burns, arms about 6 times. Very happy.

When I first tried it in air dry conditions and under the shower (but without it being immersed fully in water), I found the process quite slow. Until I tried using it in a bath with the epilator head and my skin fully under water, then it was very fast !

It is very handy to have the shaver option as well as the epilator when I in a hurry. It is very slow to use but very effective

Awesome product. Hurts a little while epilating, but less than waxing. Tried tha face epilator, works wonders. Yet to try the body epilator. The face device is not rechargable, that could have been replaced by the brand. Otherwise a big YES.

I really like this epilator it is really easy to use and pain-free.
It gives a close shave and is great having the adjustable head for around your ankles and knees

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersHave been epilating for 20 years, always bought Braun and in that time this is only my 3rd epilator. Very easy to hold, glides over your knees very easily. I even managed to epilate with quite a bad knee injury no problem at all. The new design is a huge improvement.

Golden Review Award: 16 From Our UsersI tried epilating before and it was hell. I watched a YouTube on going eco and epilation instead of disposable razors made sense to me. So I thought ok… I was like 19yrs the last time I tried, so I found a good deal on this model and took the plunge.

    Never looking back!

I’m not going to lie, it was very painful to start with, but most reviews said the pain would lessen in time and they were right.

I’ve been using it about 4 months now and I shave so rarely I stopped my subscription for razors heads. No more individual packets to throw away after use.

I know nothing is eco perfect but I’m kinda sad that I didn’t give it more of a go years ago, I could of far reduced my impact on the Earth in all those years. Ian nearly 40yrs now.

However, I think in general epilators have just gotten better.

This one I use on my legs, my under arms, some of my bikini line (tops of thighs and crease) and even my chin. I do have the smaller one for my top lip but I find the big one is just as gentle and manouverable on the chin and neck.

The hair grows back less dark, I’m pale skinned with very dark hair and to be fair the re growth is almost a light blonde now. I don’t ever have stubble, just a downy covering and often I don’t realise it’s grown back because I always feel soft.

Best benefit has been my under arms and chin.

I literally love it. Yes I still get the sweats when I think it might trap my skin etc. And once it drew blood, a very stubborn hair, but nothing has hurt so much or turned out so bad, so I would say take it slow. Start with taught patches of skin, closer to the ankles, remember to stretch skin as you go.

I prefer using it dry as efficiency is better but I do use wet in the shower and bath and this is ok too.

Often have to use the small brush provided to clean it or run it in water with head submerged to give it a proper clean. Lasts longer than 50mins I reckon and I’ve never run out of battery yet. When I do, I charge it straight away and it’s ready for next time.

I use it about twice a week, or every other depending on what I’m doing and how active I’m feeling!

It’s a great product and definitely epilators have come a long way since the 1990’s!

I absolutely love this epilator! I shaved for years and always got sore legs and ingrowing hairs but not anymore. I’ve had it a few months now and although at first feels painful you soon get used to it and the less hair you have each time you do it! Bikini was way too painful for me but legs it is amazing and the hair takes ages to grow back. Defo recommend.

I love this design, easy to hold and lightweight with good grip on handle. I love the flexible head for going over knees and awkward areas. It is a little pricey but we’ll worth it in my opinion.

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersIt’s very very good but the only thing is you can’t use it plugged in and the battery low warning is so poor that ive had skin trapped in it when it runs out of power and have given myself blisters from doing this.

It is pretty much painless apart from the bikini line which hurts like a mf but is very well worth it as there are no ingrowns and no itchiness. Going to buy lidocaine cream next time.

Does not spark joy but it's pretty effective

I’ve only used the epilator so far but am very pleased with it. At least I cannot press too hard and bring the skin off my face as well as the hair. Nice to hold.

Had to change mine as it was almost 5 years old. This one is easy for those areas around your knees.
Also very happy with the pouch as I think previous Silk epils didn’t come with it.

Having tried most of the common methods of hair removal, I am definitely someone who will opt for the least painful method. So I have been a shaver for many years.

In the past I have tried epilation and found it nothing short of torture so was a bit dubious to try this. But, I was pleasantly surprised.
    Can you feel it? Yes
    Is it unbearable? Certainly not.
And the results are so much longer lasting than shaving. My legs were left hair-free and soft skinned for several weeks.
    Definitely recommend

Was using older version of epilator, decided to upgrade. I am so happy with this model. It’s great. As I am using epilator for a very long time, it doesn’t hurt at all. Whole process is much more faster, thanks to moving head.
Gread buy, I am very happy that I got myself one.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI was dubious about spending so much but I love this product. I opted for the swivel head but with no extra attachments (ie face), so this reduced price a little. I have epilated all usual areas for the last 30 years and this is best epilator I have owned. Brilliant to be able to use it in the bath.

At the grand age of 29 I discovered that epilators exist (seems I’ve been living under a rock). I’ve been looking into the most cost-effective and efficient way of removing hair and THIS IS IT. BUT, be warned, if you’re used to shaving it will be painful the first time. But omg it is worth it! I did it the first time, it took over an hour in the shower and good god it was painful because I’ve been shaving lately so the hair is coarse and prickly. I preserved and I’m smooth and hair-free! I was sceptical whether I’d be able to do a Hollywood with this, but with the few hairs I missed I tweezed out separately. Grin through the pain and it will be worth it! After the first time, if you shave a lot, the hair will grow back thinner and less so will be much less painful and eventually painless. I’m never paying to wax again! I’m looking into the facial epilator for hard to reach areas, as in some areas obvs this is a bit too big to reach. Otherwise, I’m amazed!

Perfectly does its job. I hope this new one will last as long my previous one, which was bought 16 years ago. I like the additional tools, I can even use the massage’ s tools for my face.

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersI have used a Braun epilator for many years (mine have always lasted for about 10 years before either losing the tight tweezer action or actually stopping working). This is the best epilator I have owned, I like the flexible head and it does a good job removing even short hairs. The charging time is good. I recommend this epilator even though it is expensive (I bought mine when on offer)

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersI have had Silk Epil 9 for ages and mainly use it for facial hair (chin and upper lip) but it is quite big and I think weakened over time.
The Flex is so light and comfortable to hold yet powerful and has gripped my short dark hairs on chin no problem (suffered for years with this and laser etc hasn’t worked)
Haven’t tried the shaver attachment yet but looking forward to it!

I tried one of the early epilator years ago and it was so painful I never tried it again. However, as the Brain silk-epilator also has a shaving head it doesn’t matter if you don’t get on with the epilator head! I tried one leg with the shaver and the other with the epilator to compare. I was pleasantly surprised with the epilator. It was a little uncomfortable but if you stretch the skin above slightly it does help. It was a definite improvement to my first experience all those years ago! The shaver worked well too, I didn’t have to keep going over the same area, it flowed nicely over skin and the handle is easy and comfortable to hold. The hair on the shaved leg did come through again slightly quicker, I wouldn’t say it was weeks before the hair on the epilator side came through though. It does seem more spiky on the shaved side which would make sense.
The whole system can be packed neatly away into a luxurious looking case, useful for travelling, and it is easy to clean with brush provided.

This rechargeable wet or dry shaver comes in a beautiful zip pouch, that makes the whole thing look very expensive & classy, whilst keeping everything safely stored inside. This hurts like hell but I’m assured it gets better the more you use it. It gives a super smooth finish that lasts so much longer than a razor shave. If you usually use an epilator, you will love this. It is a quality product. I just wish it didn’t hurt so much!

4.0 out of 5 stars Keeps you hair free for longer.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersThe epilator comes with an epilator head which has the choice of skin contact cap or a massage roller cap,( it doesn’t come with a facial cap for sensitive areas or any brushes), and a shaver head with a removable trimmer comb which shaves to 3mm, the ideal length for epilation. It all comes together in a smart zippered case together with a cleaning brush, a charger with a 2-pin UK bathroom plug and some instructions. Changing from the epilator head to the shaver head is a simple matter of pressing a button on the back, removing one head and clicking the other into place. The unit has 2 speeds, selectable by a button and it also has a travel lock, initiated by holding down the power button. There is also a white work light, this can be set to turn red when too much pressure is applied to the epilator head, SensoSmart function; this function can be initiated by holding down the power button for 10 seconds, (we had problems doing this until we realised that you needed to hold the power button down when the unit was running). My wife uses a Braun Silk-epil 7 epilator, which she likes so she tried the unit out; she liked the shape, which she thought was more manoeuvrable. She liked the fact that the epilator head swivelled, however she wasn’t so sure about how useful the SensorSmart light was, and she still found it painful. The razor was good and she liked the fact it could be cleaned with running water. The zippered case was a really good addition. An easy to use, good quality epilator that gives good results.

4.0 out of 5 stars Easy to use and gives good results

Review for Epilator: This arrived in a box with a charger cable, an accessory to change from epilator to shaver, brush and a bag to store all this in.

There was an instruction manual included also.
This required to be charged prior to start so I charged it up for a day.
This can be used off the charger cord and can be used wet or dry. I’m reviewing for dry use only.
I used this in the armpit area. I tend to have hot waxing done here and this has resulted in less areas with hair and the hair is finer too.

I used to own a Phillips Satinelle epilator which lasted for years which was quite good.

This epilator has 2 speeds and I went for the faster and when you press the on button a light comes on which will shine upon the area to be depilated.

The area to be epilated should be clean and dry. I went over the area and found it removed hair and that I did not feel it was painful. I did find I had to go over an area twice but found the light helpful whilst in use and then to check the area over.

The head swivels to contour the shape and this worked well you may find you need to adjust pressure to suit you when you move this around. After epilating the device can be stored in the pouch until the next use.

The cable charger on this device I received had an European plug so I would make sure you are able to change the plug over or get a EU to UK converter plug.

My wife has used several epilators, and says this is by far the best she has tried. Quite probably, a major factor for that is the flexible head making it really comfortable to use. Being for both wet and dry use is big plus.

The product is very well made, as you’d expect from Braun, and performs fantastically, leaving the skin feeling very smooth, and it doesn’t pull no matter the length.

The kit comes in a nice little case, making it easy to keep together neatly, and comes complete with charger. Once charged it seems to go on and on — hasn’t needed a recharge yet.

Now for a really annoying niggle, in fact more than a niggle, annoyance! The product description / included instructions etc is very ambiguous. The product page image and description shows what you would expect to be the complete item and accessories. You would be wrong.. See images for what is included (and more to the point what isn’t. there ISN’T included: Exfoliator head, and crucially the facial cap. That is just as important as everything else, and of course essential for above lip areas etc. This really needs to be addressed. I’m sourced one, but has cost 7.50 — must be pennies to include / add with the epilator.

All in all, a superb product, but let down by the above Recommended, BUT ensure you factor that in.

4.0 out of 5 stars Best ever, according to my wife BUT….. not everything shown / listed is included!

The Braun Silk-pil 9 Flex 9-002, Epilator is beautifully presented in a smart, faus-suede finish box. It comes in a pouch with instructions and the items listed in the product description, apart from one of the extra heads. The device is very well made.

I found it shriekingly painful to use. That said, I am a cowardy-custard so maybe others would not find it hurts. It works, oh yes, certainly. It works like the old-fashioned hot wax treatment by ripping out the hairs. It’s multi-tweezing, if you like. I tried it on my legs, which was bearable, on my upper pubic area, which brought tears to my eyes, and (big breath) on my armpit. I stopped that last experiment immediately. For the brave it is a wonderful product. For myself, I’ll take a back seat in the queue, thank you.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersI don’t believe that there’s much of a market for epilators anymore since laser removal guns have become affordable and consumer grade. The laser gun that I use works perfect for me at the moment. I have a rather large tattoo “down there” and in the interests of clarity I cannot have it obstructed by body hair so I need to keep it refreshed daily. The laser gun cuts down growth and reduces them to fine bristles after a few days. I normally just shave these (you don’t want to laser your skin every day) and use the gun once every couple of weeks or so, but using this epilator is a quick alternative to that and gives a MUCH smoother result.

This biggest plus of this Braun model is the wider head. I’ve been complaining for years that epilators need wider heads to cut down on grooming time. I no longer shave my chest or arms as the hair cover there has increased to something a bit more manly, but hairy legs are beyond gross so I need to keep them stripped, especially as I go swimming often.

Using this thing doesn’t hurt any less than with previous models. If you want to look good you will have to suffer the agony, be it in the gym or yanking out your body hair at the gym, though using in the shower does reduce the hurt somewhat. I honestly don’t think that epilators will get much better than this model or that manufacturers will continue production for much longer. Laser guns are the way forward and this older technology doesn’t have much use anymore, outside of maintaining individual areas, such as in my case. However, this is reflected in the dropping price points and they might stay around a little while longer as long as the cost is significantly lower than the guns.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersWish I had bought one of these as my first experience of using an epilator, compared to my old Braun this is absolutely brilliant! The best way for me to review this is to always compare it to an old style Braun epilator I have had for years which has a fixed 3cm head and although it does have 2 speeds there isn’t a lot of difference between those speeds.

So keeping that information in mind this Braun Silk epil Flex is totally a new experience. Charges quickly and sits naturally in your hand. Its lightweight enough without being cheap feeling and is a very capable device. If you are new to epilation once you get that hang of it then all those hairy days will eventually go, its important to read and fully understand how epilation works, not just how it removes hair but how it grows back at different times – also how to prepare skin etc.

This epilator features a swivel head which is a massive improvement, a fixed head requires you to manoeuvre the device around which can be awkward, this swivel allows a lot more ease of use. Also there is a pressure control which is very important, my old one doesn’t have this and its easy to apply too much pressure which causes discomfort. Another improvement is the light which shows those tiny hairs which are often hard to see.

On op of all these features is the amazing fact you can use this rechargeable epilator under water! Some other versions are waterproof/resistant which is handy but to be able to submerge the device is another thing altogether. I have been using an epilator for years so have got very used to the sensation so I asked my daughter to try this underwater and she found that helped with the initial discomfort.

In the box is a shaver head which is useful for underarms, I have had a few issues with using an epilator under my arms, mainly because the skin and hairs are quite different to those on legs etc and the whole area is a lot more sensitive. However, the addition of a swivel head makes using it under arm a lot more easy so I have braved it and sure enough it works really well – but for those who aren’t keen the shave head works brilliantly as its on the swivel as well.

Overall a really good product, the expense is worth it as all the extra features helps the experience especially if you are new to using an epilator. I have found over the years that eventually my hairy legs have got a lot less hairy and due to the different growth rates of hairs I only have to use the epilator once a fortnight.

This is the second one I have purchased as my other which was the same model developed a problem with the on/off button after 4 year’s of use.
Now considering I used it twice every day for over four years I think that’s a great record for an item that has a price point at the low end of the market and my wife’s is still going strong, hence my decision to buy the exact same model.
I can really recommend this item to any one who wants a reliable and solid electric toothbrush with replacement heads that you can get cheap on amazo
