For various reasons I bought two printers. This and a more expensive HP. The HP I ended up giving away. It worked but is not as good as the Brother.
After multiple tech issues with multiple inkjet printers I took a chance on this black & white laser printer, which was easy to set up while watching a YouTube video of someone unboxing & setting it up.
The included cartridge should last for a few hundred pages.
It works fine, seems very reliable and I’m happy with it.
I purchased the brother MFC-L2750DW in August-2023.
Day-1 review:
Setup & installation to both my windows laptop & iPhone mobile was easy & straightforward.
I tried the automatic 2 sided scanning & copying, worked very well.
The automatic document feeder has auto duplex from scanning & printing which is great & save me time.
A well designed printer. Apparently the deep sleep mode consumes very little power over a year, so I am leaving it switched on. The Wi-Fi capability means I can keep the printer off my desk and it wakes up quite quickly from the deep sleep mode. I found that the printer did not connect to my Wi-Fi at first attempt but I followed the advice of others – unplugged the power cord for a minute and then re-connected. It then worked fine.
Very happy with this and find it a brilliant printer compared to an ink cartridge one that became problematic after a while and expensive to keep buying cartridges. It was recommended that I bought this type of printer and after looking at the choices decided on this as I only wanted a basic one for occasional black and white printing. I was unable to set it up totally and had to get a computer friendly friend to help who sorted it right away.
Install the driver from Brother’s website! The default Windows10 driver cannot draw correctly anything but Word-typed text. I was initially appalled at the drawing quality, as even printed text from web-browsers or PDFs was not easily-readable. Lines would be all very jaggy. After installing the driver, I everything is good.
I can now make PCBs with 50-micrometer traces thanks to this amazing printer! This matches professional quality!
Easy to setup, easy to use, connect your Wi-Fi after that it’s a breeze, very satisfied with the brother environment/app etc, using the mobile iPrint&Scan app gives access to all the settings on your iPhone or iPad which is all I use the app for as I primarily use air print or windows computer for printing, a little bigger than inkjets but well worth it, it’s so superior to inkjet printers I wish I’d got one earlier, best printer I’ve owned so far. Wish I’d gone the extra mile and purchased the colour.
Good price fast delivery, multi function printer, great for home office
This is a perfect little mono laser printer and was exactly what I was looking for. Reliable, fairly cheap, small and includes AirPrint!
I like this printer. It prints quickly and quietly. It only produces black and white copies which is fine for me and it wasn’t too expensive.
Easy set up (Apple phone & Ipad) good value scanner, copier and printer.
Easy to set up, work on AirPrint. Paper tray is handy. Loving it so fa
This printer consistently actually prints. No proprietary software, no drying out, no messing about, it just… prints.
Also, I printed off around 100 pages and it used so little ink that it still registers as full, and new toner cartridges are fairly cheap, and it doesn’t pop up a thousand messages I’d you don’t use a proprietary one.
Literally the best printer on the market right now by far.
Good print quality – B&W only but you knew this when purchased. Does double sided.
Initial setup was straight forward. Haven’t had to change a cartridge yet so can’t speak to ease of replaceme
No driver issues , no pending in que issues , no printer offline error even though printer is online , no ads to subscribe to ink messages on windows, just prints
Great little laser printer. I wish I had invested in a laser printer years ago instead of the inkjet one. The toner it arrives with does not print 700 pages as advertised, more like 400 and a bit.. I know this because I’ve needed to print 400 pages and a warning has arrived telling me toner is low. I m finding it difficult to laocate a toner too. Brother toner is very expensive so Im going with a compatible one. Some review have said compatible cartridges do not work, while others say they do. I’ll take a punt.
Works seamlessly with my iMac after buying the appropriate lead. I had an older model which would not work with the latest Apple operating system but otherwise was excellent . This is even quicker, very pleased with purchase
can’t fault this printer, very economical and quick to turn on and print. The wired version only works perfectly with airprint using your routers wifi when plugged with ethernet cable. bonus is brother does not lock you with silly subscriptions or anti third party DRM like HP does. Highly recommend brothe
My last printer ended up in the recycling bin due to to faffing about with wi-fi and driver settings – nightmare to use. This Brother print is straightforward to set up using USB cable. It only took about 20 seconds to set up and works with the minimum of fuss and complexity. The paper tray sits at the bottom of the printer, which means you do not have to hand feed the paper into the top of the printer, and keeps the set up neat and tidy.
I wanted a relatively cheap mono duplex network laser printer that was of good quality and worked on Linux. That’s exactly what I got!
Instructions, as always with this kind of technology, were inadequate. But I got there in the end!
This is an excellent printer that provides an easy WiFi and WiFi direcr setup. Prints also double sides so you avoid wasting paper. Be aware that if you are looking for a compact printer, this is not the case, it’s quite bulky.
I’ve had this just a little under a month and it works great. Automatic 2 sided print is a great paper saver too. Prints quickly with not jams from the main feeder. Some issues with jams from the single sheet feeder but that could be because I am trying to feed in labels that are a little thicker than your usual 80gsm copier. It catches as if it will print then says there is a jam, though there isn’t one. I have to take out the full drum unit once or twice for it to reset.
The only reason for the drop to four stars is that, when received, you could clearly see that the box had been opened and re-taped and when I opened it the drum unit was already in, so I think this was a return. It works great so I am happy to keep but it was sold to me as new/unused and should have been a warehouse sale with a slight discount.
I was fed up of tempermental inkjet printers and their crazy ink cartridge prices so did a quick search for a good value wireless laser printer. TBH this was a bit more expensive than I wanted to pay but I’m glad I did because it’s proving to be a solid and dependable bit of kit and perfect for my occasional needs. I can’t yet comment on cartridge life but I’m not expecting any dramas.
I just re-bought this, after having had more or less the same model for 10 years (it didn’t break down, I moved and couldn’t bring it). No fancy touch screen which can go wrong, feels like it’s from the 90s, I love this boring little grey printer.
It does one thing and one thing only, it prints reliably and quickly, without ever suddenly having a clogged cartridge (no more inkjets in my life!).
Connects easily to your network (just use the WPS button on your router), does AirPrint. It’s obviously not for presentations, if you stick it on eco mode / low DPI / toner save those toners go for a long, long time. And I’ve always bought third party ones, with no issues. Love i
The reviews are all lumped together for different printers,
I read the reviews and saw that it was Wi-Fi compatible, but the reviews were for a different printer,
I had to return this one and buy the correct Wifi one
I usually find printer installation a real pain! I have an iMac which is a bit particular about which printers it likes to work with!! This was a very quick decision buy to replace my trusty Samsung Express which had finally given up the ghost after a good few years service (I run an online business and use laser printers for labels) and I needed it quickly. I read the reviews on this model which were overall pretty good, so ordered it and when it arrived the next day I began what I thought would be a nightmare to get the printer installed and get it working. I was so wrong!! Installed in a few minutes and worked perfectly straight away. The only tiniest of niggles (and it could be just me who misunderstood) when you download the drivers for the printer there’s not actually a button that states DOWNLOAD and I had to try and work out exactly where to click to download them! But that definitely could have been me (although I did feedback that point to Brother when they asked for feedback on installation) I can’t recommend this printer highly enough, it’s just brilliant!
I mostly print out texts and graphics using black ink, so I decided to buy the Brother DCP-L2510D Mono Laser Printer which is a perfect replacement for my large colour inkjet printer. This A4 laser printer is compact and easy to setup. It is connected it to my computer by a USB cable, but this can also be done through Wi-Fi. It features double-sided printing which helps me save on paper. The LCD screen and control panel at the front allows me to optimise the overall quality of my printed work.
Having been spending a fortune on ink jet printers this has proved a great saving in efficiency and money.
It spits out the paper really fast when copying. The quality is good and the cartridge lasts a long time compared to ink jets. It is easy to swap over when a new one is needed. Brilliant, fast and efficient, money saving too. It only does black and white or greyscale, so when I need colour copies I can use the expensive ink jet printer. It’s so slow compared to Brother. Brother is a sturdy and reliable product. Printing on card works well by opening a compartment at the front and manually feeding in the card.
I think this is the most seamless experience I’ve had with buying a printer. Unlike the absolute cancer that is the inkjet printer market this printer just works, doesn’t force you to subscribe to an ink program or have a complicated setup procedure. All I had to do was plug it in to my computer and it installed itself, I was up and running in minutes.
The print quality is ok, I would recommend using the highest DPI setting or graphics can come out a little low resolution, you don’t buy a laser printer for print quality though. I quite like the manual feed option as it allows me to easily feed in sticky labels without placing them in the paper tray. Printing is reasonably fast and quiet and the printer doesn’t sit there for ages performing a cleaning cycle as you get with inkjets. 3rd party toner cartridges seem to be pretty cheap although I have not used one yet.
The only downsides is that it’ll occasionally detect a paper jam when there isn’t one but can be fixed by powering it on and off. Also the USB cable wasn’t included which is pretty inexcusable as it uses USB type B which is a rarity nowadays and considering the cost of the printer and the insignificant cost of a USB cable. They do however go to the effort to include the driver disc which isn’t required (for Windows 10 at least), can be downloaded from their website and will most likely be outdated anyway.
I don’t know why, but it seems nearly impossible to find a printer that actually works anymore for more than a month. After string of several different printers that were abysmal failures that would just suddenly quit working, this one is still going strong. Not exactly a ringing endorsement, but it’s more than I can say for most it seems.
Don’t really miss being able to print in colour and I certainly don’t miss having to pay the cost of replacement ink-jet cartridges.
Bought a replacement toner cartridge for this Brother Printer. Being powder based it has a great shelf life and will print some 3000 pages, at a fraction of the cost of what manufacturers charge for original inkjet cartridges !
Only thing I should have considered is that this is not a wireless printer so I can’t print directly from my iPad.
However, having connected the printer to my main computer via USB it works flawlessly.
AAA+++
Not fancy scans etc etc. Simple, easy to set up, prints as should. Worth ever penny.
My last Brother print was still going after 20 years, only died when I damaged the rollers.
Bought to replace a cheap 3 year old ink jet printer which gave up on feeding paper, this is a much more substantial unit which has performed very well so far. Although not a colour printer like the ink jet was, I decided that was not important for the things we tend to print and I’d rather have a good reliable laser than another ink jet. Having a built in duplexer for double sided printing is also very nice.
It was reasonably priced for a laser printer but didn’t have wireless connection and strangely didn’t come with a cable either. This wasn’t a problem for me as I used the cable from the old printer, however, if this was a first printer for someone then they wouldn’t have been able to use it until they’d gone and bought a cable!
Windows recognised the printer and it worked out of the box for basic printing but required a download and installation process from the Brother web site to get all the features, such as scanning, to work.
Very pleased with it so far and, best of all, it just feeds the paper through and prints without any fuss!
This Which Best Buy and Eco Buy was just what I wanted. I was surprised it was not WIFI enabled and needed a driver to be downloaded which had to be searched for as it was not obvious on the Brother list. Once installed this printer supplies great prints.
Print speed etc. is good – printed off a 48 page document – a couple of the sheets got caught while printing and sent already printed sheets to the floor – only a couple – but other than that it is a good printer – the flap for paper holding after printing – if it had been a little bigger and wider would probably have stopped the sheet being caught and pushed off
This has performed faultlessly out of the box and even drew thicker paper (170gsm instead of the published 165gsm maximum) without any issues so allowed me to run off certificates for an event in volume rather than singly through the manual feed.
Consumables seem to be reasonably priced as well, it’s a nice bit of kit and not too loud on a longer run.
Print quality was faultless.
Only minor downside is that Brother software needs to be installed rather than Windows just picking up that it is a printer, but I’m not going to dock a star for that as it is a very sensibly priced, decent little printer for low volume print runs
Dratt, I thought I’d found a bargain, until this printer arrived, opened the box, read the Quick Start guide..Damn, I don’t have a PC or Mac, just an iPhone, so can’t set it up!!!! You need to put a disc in to a computer to get started! Will have to return and buy the more expensive model.
Wanted basic mono Brother printer – like searching for gold dust – all sold out with no info about new delivery dates. Managed to get one that arrived well packaged. However sticker on back said this was a brother refurbished machine. Also said it might not contain full toner cartridge/drum may have had some use. (Given the price paid – nearly double RRP – supplier /retailer certainly got on the bandwagon profiteering at customers expense). That said the machine was in pristine condition and very easy to set up. Duplex print is the default – although it does print single pages. Clear sharp mono printing and it’s a very speedy little machine delivering 30 pages per minute.
When I bought it 2 week ago it was 25 % more expensive yet I have no regret.
– I can’t complain about quality of the prints,
– the drivers are of sensible quality, no bloatware added to my PC.
My complaints are
– doesn’t come with USB cable so i had to wait and ship another package (what a waste),
– not the whole A4 comes from scanner, there is a margin about 1 cm by guess,
– the scans don’t look like originals, they are too bright (black on original becomes dark grey when scanned).
There’s an old adage in the world of printers, if you want an inkjet buy an Epson, if you want a laser printer buy a Brother.
I’m pleased that this old saying still holds true for someone looking to print laser documents. On various paper types the results have been professional, no different to a top end workgroup printer but obviously this is a small device for home/small office.
I’ve not noticed any issues with scanning, the paper tray is solid, noise isn’t obnoxious and only occurs when powering on or printing/scanning. I’ve not had any issues with the drivers or quirks with paper sizing which is far from a given, many printers are still terrible for this as my friend (who didn’t ask their IT Support mate for advice) discovered recently.
I didn’t get very good results on a photo test print but I didn’t really expect that, if you want to print photos, get an inkjet. Personally, I can’t justify owning an inkjet and occasional use of online photo printing services is preferable to the hassle and the often offensive cost of ink and photo paper.
