Canon Speedlite 430EX III-RT Flash

Canon Speedlite 430EX III-RT Flash

Canon Speedlite 430EX III-RT
Powerful, yet compact enough to take anywhere
A guide number of 43 (m, ISO100) means there’s enough power for most occasions.
The Speedlite 430EX III-RT weights just 295g and is only 113.8mm long, so there’ll always be room for it in your bag.
Powered by readily-available AA batteries, the flash recycles following a full-power flash in just 3.2s.
Simple controls and an intuitive interface
The controls on the Speedlite 430EX III-RT echo those of many EOS cameras. Shortcut controls give access to key features, and a control wheel allows quick adjustments to be made. A lock switch prevents settings from being changed accidentally. An LCD screen shows settings and shooting information at a glance, and is illuminated for low-light conditions.
Use remote flash to create the look you want
Speedlite 430EX III-RT flashes can also be placed away from the camera, to simulate light coming from different directions.
Using Radio frequency triggering, Speedlite 430EX III-RT units can be controlled from up to 30m away, and do not require direct line of sight with the camera. This means they can be situated in more places, letting you create even more moods and effects.
The Speedlite 430EX III-RT can also be remotely controlled with optical triggering, so it will fit in immediately with your existing flash set up. It can be fired from 10m away using the optional Speedlite Transmitter ST-E2 or the Integrated Speedlite Transmitter built in the some EOS cameras.
Use multiple flashes together in groups, controlling the power of each group separately. Up to five groups can be created, with a maximum of 15 flashes in each group.
- Powerful, yet compact enough to take anywhere
- Simple controls and an intuitive interface
- Use remote flash to create the look you want
- Shoot flattering portraits using bounced light
- Integrates with other Speedlites as part of the EOS Family

Wanted to try and do some studio backgrounds using a flash.
This did the job exactly as i wanted it to do.
it seems a good accessory to have with my camera and has plenty of features on it that i find useful.
especially the HSS.
came with a lense defuser and filter.
Great piece of equipment as you would expect from canon, have used their equipment for years
Fantastic build quality… more expensive than similar products, but absolutely worth every penny!!!
This is my first off camera flash.
Quick recycle time, solidly built.
Canon always deliver the best products, a tad overpriced but at least you know you’ve got a product that will last. Used it on many party shoots. And received some awesome shots. The bounce card is a nice edition. Perfect and must have for photography. I own the canon EOS 77D and it fits perfectly. It also looks the part and is very impressive. I think my friend said my camera “looks like a gun now”
This is my 2nd Speedlight, last one still works but took slower to recharge after 10 years. These are professional standard products
Had to buy this to use on my canon 4000D a more basic value flash will not work on this camera
This flash gun is exactly what I needed. Having struggled with flash photography I realised that I needed a dedicated flash for my camera to improve my images. The 430EX III-RT is light weigh easy to use off and off the camera and give correct levels of exposure when on TTL setting.
Simple and easy to set up. Linked to camera and after a little bit of you tube and thinking about the light bouncing off the roof took some amazing well lit photos.
Light, powerful & good battery life – easy to pop in your bag – I use it on both Canon & Fuji (manual) and love it – links with my 600 EXT’s with n hesitation.
Bought this as my first flash. Fairly easy to set up and use, excellent for intermediates and pros! Recommended.
Nun zu meiner Vorgeschichte, was Blitzgerte angeht:
Tipp:
Wonderful liitle toy! Size is great so very portable and was easy to set up and link to transmitter, ordered another one already. 4 stars because is not as bright as I expected, but still it has a nice white light and comes with a plastic stand and a pouch, white difuser and amber colour filter that have their own pouch bag.
This is a great little gun, I use it with my 5D III and get excellent results. Ian Anderso
Brilliant little bit of kit. Very versatile. This sort of equipment has really come on a long way. I am really pleased I bought it.
I have sold 39 lenses on eBay using this product!
Great flash and easy to use. Never been a fan of flash, but I now consider myself converted.
Purchased to go with my recently acquired Canon EOS M5.
My Speedlite 550EX is a little large and top heavy for EOS M5, but the 430EX III-RT is just right!
Compact and powerful, it balances perfectly and gives superbly lit shots
Recommended.
Easy to use and works perfectly in conjunction with my EOS camera.
Small and light enough to carry around and nice bonus of diffuser and filters being included.
The deciding factor was Canon’s rebate offer which made this not much more expensive than a clone Chinese model. Win Win.
I spent last night experimenting. Set up my tripod in the conservatory and used a garden gargoyle for a willing subject. Auto mode is simple to use and I set this up. Using these constants and auto camera and flash let me angle/swlvvle the flash head at will making the best use of the shadows. The defusers soften the edges, removing harsh whites and give beautiful results. I am very pleased and cannot wait to experiment more. Getting lifelike colours & glare free pictures straight from the box was a big relief.
I hate those washed out featureless red eyed faces that seem normal for inbuilt flashes. So far only aiming the flash directly at the subject does this.
I have also had a mess about in none manual settings. There’s lot to learn but good results are immediate and are not over complicated to achieve. I think learning better techniques will be fun
The build is excellent as is the in box kit. You just need to buy 4 x AA batteries. Happy days
Great Speedlite for a tonne of different uses.. I use if from interior photography to some events.. not too bulky and more than powerful enough!
No matter what level of photography you are at this will definitely be one to have in your arsenal as its small, light(ish) and easy to use, and for beginners i recommend saving up for this rather than buying a cheap flash.
Great flash with some extra items in the package and works fine. Still not a pro with it but can’t complain! Quality piece
Excellent flash and guaranteed to work correctly with a canon camera.
That wow factor is incredible. Prompt delivery. Less than 3-5 days.
The product is sensational.
My only question is when I’ll buy my next one!
I am not an expert of using an external flash but this is super easy-to-use! It comes with an adapter and a filter which I don’t need to buy another extra ones!
The box arrived next day (always impressed with Amazon Prime), and the item was brand new and ready for use!
NOTE: This flash DOES come with a flash diffuser. You do NOT need to purchase another one (as recommended by Amazon). This wasn’t clear to me, and as a result I purchased one not realising.
I’ve been shooting for a few years now, aiming to perfect natural lighting before moving onto things such as flashes. I always thought it was such a simple process that people make sound complicated. I was wrong. There are so many options on this flash, from setting the light levels manually to using ETTL, flash compensation etc. I’ve had a good play around and even used for a few jobs, and have to say I’m very happy and confident in the product. Do you need a 600EX? Probably not, this light is bright!!
One thing to mention, is this flash will not operate off the camera unless you have purchased either another flash or transmitter. Considering the canon transmitter is 250+ (cheaper brands available), it almost makes sense to purchase another 430EX III, however finances won’t allow that just yet. So for now, I can only use when attached the the camera body.
Overall very happy with my purchase.
Riprendo e concludo.
First impressions are fantastic, it’s built solidly, the flash is powerful and having taken a few test photographs it’s lit up a large dark room without the dreadful harshness the built in flash causes. The product comes with a nice diffuser which from reading the mark ii and other models reviews this wasn’t the case before which is nice, there is also an orange colour filter and stand. It is rather heavy with the batteries (4xAA) in which I quite like but others may not, as previously mentioned I have not had a different flash to this so cannot compare if this is heavier or not!
It also comes with a nice fabric carry case which looks as though it can be attached to a belt, or attached by a clip as it has a D ring on one side.
I look forward to really giving this flash a good test soon enough, I’ll try and update this review as and when I do!
No he insistido mucho, la verdad, y rpido me he tirado a manejarlo en manual.
Update: Nov 2017 – still getting great results but I now have three of them plus the Canon radio trigger.
