I’ve had mine for coming up to 4 years now, it’s a great-looking ultra-reliable watch. It’s also virtually silent (I can’t abide a ticking watch) and very, very well made.

It’s a really nice watch but I didn’t read the description properly,This is solar powered,Very impractical in my opinion,I had to leave it on a windowsill every day instead of wearing it,You’d have to have your sleeves rolled up like you were showing it off,The instructions are so small I haven’t managed to set it yet,I’ll enlarge them on a photocopier,As I collect watches it’s gone into the collection for now.

It is extremely accurate and easy to read. The various modes are sometimes a little confusing but that is proberbly down to me being an old fossil.

My boyfriend absolutely loves this watch. The only downside is that he didn’t get on with the strap and found it was either too loose or pinched his skin if took a link out.

I have worn this watch almost every day for a couple of years and I am very impressed with it.
    Absolutely no issues with it.

It offers a good range of digital functions but it attractive enough as a smart dress watch as well.
The Sapphire crystal screen remains perfectly scratch free despite wearing it for all kinds of sport, DIY and gardening, the titanium watch strap shows some signs of weathering but only on close inspection.

5.0 out of 5 stars Stood the test of time, attractive and highly functional

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis is simply the best watch I’ve ever owned. I’ve owned almost every kind, from citizen to timex and the Casio Lineage is by far the best bang for your buck. I bought my first one back in 2017 and it has kept perfect time, never scratched (sapphire glass), and been classy, light and highly useful (all the standard functions, world time, stop watch, multiple alarms, timer) up until I lost it whitewater rafting last week. Buying another. Can’t recommend this watch enough.

Whilst I’ve not owned this long enough to determine and long term problems.

The watch updates the time by itself between 2-3am every day and come 27th March ’22 when the clocks went forwards, it managed to do this all by itself. I have read that the radio modules have stopped working for some people in the Casio Waveceptor, so fingers crossed this one doesn’t.

Since I’ve looked after the watch well, I’ve not seen any problems with the durability of the black finish.

The watch is solar powered and will keep itself charged. I’ve owned a Casio Edifice for 14 years which is still running perfectly and still does for weeks without daylight.

Over all very satisfied with it, no battery changes and no manual time adjustment, bliss.

All you’ll ever need in a watch, state-of-the-art atomic timekeeping and solar powered with the usual Casio quality, unless you’re a watch brand snob.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersAfter my previous Edifice broke, after many years of service, I was looking for something with the same functionality, that also made it easier to read. the time The old eyes aren’t what they used to be… The Lineage was nearly perfect. Here are my personal plus and minus points

+ 5 separate alarms for my daily recurrent tasks, louder than the Edifice
+ timer with second precision, for the perfect boiled egg 🙂
+ radio controlled for maximum precision and automated summer time switching
+ solar powered: no more battery changes
    + very elegant look
+ easy to read the time, LED for night time checks

    – setup can take many button presses, a 4th button to count down in addition to up would be great
    – In the versions with negative (white on black) display, the little screen is hard to read. Doesn’t bother me at all, and looks better, but if you need it a lot, maybe go for a black an whilte display.
    – The phosphorescent indicators are quite feeble compared to the Edifice.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersThis watch is beautiful and does the job perfectly BUT beware of the Amazon description as despite it saying it’s titanium, it is not! The titanium model has a TD in its reference and it goes for about 50 more, I realized it only when I received the watch. Still, I will keep it, it’s still quite lightweight and perfect to wear in the office being it so thin. I am just kinda disappointed with the Amazon description being not accurate.

    Beware of the description!

when i first opened the watch box, the hads moved automatically, one hour ahead of the current (i m in London).
Then i changed the country to LONDON but still the same, it didnt move 1 hour back.
So, i changed the country to UTC and the hands moved to the correct time.
After that, i changed the country back to LONDON and since then, the time is correct.
When i press the button that shows the battery, although it is full, it says MID.

    NEGATIVES:
    1. the light is very very weak, it does not help anything at all, and since the watch is black, its hard to read the digital part.

Its hard to read the digital part, the light is rediculously weak.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersThis is my second Casio Waveceptor the first is 7 years old and has never missed a beat. Never changed the battery, wear it everday. Got a new one because wanted something smarter and less diverish.

Now I agree the black background digital display can be difficult to see but I only use it once a day at most to check the date. Sometimes you need to tilt the watch to get a clear view of the day/date but it is not a problem for me. Indeed I like it that the digital display is very discrete, or near invisible, gives the watch a minimal uncluttered look.

So if you use the digital display a lot (i.e. for stopwatch etc) then this ‘white’ on black version would not be a good choice. If you just use it to check the date it is fine IMO.

Otherwise a lovely watch. I have a Swiss mechanical for very best but this is my choice for daily wear. Always right time* and always charged, just stick it in the sunlight for a day every four? months and it will be fine.

*So long as you in range of one of the atomic clock transmitters.

I ordered this watch because I liked the look and wanted accuracy along with the solar charging. However when I actually tried to set up the watch I found it really difficult to read the LCD screen which is faint white characters on a black background. Perhaps this is because of my age (pensioner) but I reluctantly had to return it.

  17. JeffereyWise says:

     United Kingdom

The “white on black” LCD is not as good as it looks in the ads. but is however well useable.
Being black looks more in keeping than the “black on white” version.

The strap is massive. Removing links is quite simple but has to be done in about 1cm lumps.
Admitedly the catch has two positions to select for finer control but two ain’t enough.
On me it is either too tight or too loose.
I chucked it and got an expanding one from ebay.

That said, I’ve had the watch a few days and am so far well pleased.

Another excellent product from Casio. My last waveceptor is 12 years old and still going strong. But I just fell in love with the looks of this watch – it just ticks the right boxes – never need a battery – never gives the wrong time – and all with no effort on my part.
It picks up the radio signal easily from deep inside a room – which my last watch could not do. It charges fast. The sapphire crystal looks stunning and is super transparent. This watch looks absolutely gorgeous.
But the strap is a little cheap feeling and can be squeaky. Although this slightly lets down the watch it is a truly excellent timepiece.

I love this watch. I previously bought another model in the same line which still serves me well, however I preferred the shape of this one and wear it daily. It keeps perfect time and I never worry about replacing the batteries thanks to the solar function. My watch looks good whether I’m wearing smart or casual clothes and wouldn’t hesitate to buy it again.

  20. Mark Gregory says:

I bought this watch looking at photos on line and they show the watch in all it’s glory.
The watch works like a dream, BUT the small LED screen is too difficult to read unless
you are under a strong light. The is an LED light on the watch but it does not light up the
LED info screen. It would have been a truly truly great watch if the LED info screen had
been back lit. This the only thing that lets the watch down.

  21. Anonymous says:

I’m happy with the watch and would probably buy it again. However, there are two problems that potential buyers should be aware of.
    1. The digital display (that I normally have set to day and date) is very clear under some conditions of ambient illumination, but sometimes I find myself having difficulty finding a position under which it is legible. [a previous, very similar, watch with dark characters on a light background was much easier to read under a wide variety of conditions]
    2. When changing the setting of the countdown timer it is only possible to increase the setting. So, to change from, say, 5 minutes to 10 minutes involves a few presses of the button. But, to change from, say 10 minutes to 5 minutes involves changing the setting up to 100 minutes and then it will ‘click-over’ to 1 minute and then can be increased to 5. This involves either 95 presses of the button or holding it down for a while and making sure you release it in time.

If it weren’t for these two problems I’d have happily rated it 5 stars.

  22. Anonymous says:

The finish and overall quality is superb, I love the flat watch face and the simpler 3-button settings in comparison to the older versions with the curved face with 4 settings buttons. The black LCD display is difficult to see unless you look straight into it, though I was previously aware from other reviews, but nonetheless the silver hands and digits do stand out profoundly. Whether the black finished wears away over time it is too early to say, suffice it to say this is not the kind of watch one would wear when doing manual tasks around the house or at work.

I just love this watch. As soon as I opened the package, the needles moved to show the correct time (I’m sitting in London).
It’s not monstrous, just the right size, and it has plenty of space for easy adjust your wrist.
It’s stylish and sleek, and honestly… not having to worry about battery is just great.
I had never had to even worry that the battery drains in cloudy days once that it’s fully charged.

    Absolutely worth the money.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersThis watch really is zero maintenance. Set it to the appropriate time zone, and there is nothing more to do. I was initially somewhat put off by the exhortations in the instructions to make sure that the watch is not obscured by the cuff of one’s shirt or jacket in order to make sure it receives adequate sunlight. I envisioned the battery running down all the time and having to leave it on the window ledge in the sun; however, this proved not to be necessary. The watch arrived in a medium state of charge; once it charged itself to high, I wore it as normal, making no attempt to give it extra sunlight, and the charge level has remained high, even wearing it in bed at night, where it infallibly picks up the radio signal from beneath the bed clothes. The watch also has a premium look. The only reason for taking a star off is that the digital readout is difficult to see unless you’re looking straight down at it in good light, and if you regularly use the digital functions this might be a deal breaker for you.

A watch has one main purpose, to tell the time. Buy all your Rolex’s and goodness knows what but none are as accurate as a radio controlled/atomic watch. Ordered 11:30pm and delivered the next day on Amazon Prime. Watch looks better in person than any photo. The negative display fits with the watch style and easily legible, especially outside although I know some people don’t like it.

The only negative I’d say is that the strap links are a nightmare. In addition to a pin that most strap links have, there’s a tiny tube that fits halfway in that keeps the pin in place. Take it to a jeweller unless you want a challenge. Wach manufacturers need to find better ways of removing and adding links.

First class and lovely looking watch.

A very pleasing watch. Manual very small text size and a bit complex to set up but when done, that’s it. Watch needs to be left in light for some time for initial charging to wake it up.

  27. Peter Holden says:

It is impressive seeing this watch wake up on opening the box – it promptly sets itself to the correct time. It looks and feels good and I am still thrilled on seeing the second hand reach 12 precisely on the hour. The lack of a crown could be a talking point – should you need one.

This is a very smart watch. The dial is easy to read. The little LCD display at the bottom isn’t. You have to angle it to get it in the right light to read it.. The light is almost useless as it gets reflected off the interior of the watch and you cannot see the hands.

    I still love it though.

  29. RamonHitchcock says:

Excellent. Very light and zero maintenance as it is solar powered and atomic clock sequenced. Good strap but be very careful adjusting it as pins use tiny little collars that are easy to lose.
Downsides are hands could be easier to see and the glass catches strong reflections.
If Casio put chunkier hands and coates thee glass better then this would be 5 out of 5.

The watch is a smart looking watch and does everything I need. Bought a Casio radio controlled watch with solar batteries 13 years ago and still going strong but I wanted another for best. The price was also very reasonable for what you get, would recommend the watch to anyone.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersExcellent watch. I have a small wrist and it’s comfortable. Can wear it to sleep. Hands are easy to read, and the lume is fairly bright and long lasting in the dark. However, digital display is not as clear as in the picture, and the light does not illuminate the digital display. However if you put your finger on the watch face while the light is on, it is possible to reflect some light onto the digital display to read it. It is very easy to read the hands with the light, though. Automatic atomic sync works as advertised. The tick is almost silent unless you put it to your ear. The booklet says that the watch can last for 4months in reserve mode but I have yet to test that.
The black watch face is actually more of a shiny grey with a radial pattern.
The black digital display background is true black but the numbers are not exactly white, as the picture shows.
Overall looks better than the picture.

  32. KimberlWeymouth says:

This is my third Casio Waveceptor. The first is (I cant remember) more than ten years old and still going strong, the second is three years old and likewise. So I only have two reasons for getting a third: one is the way the style has evolved. This one looks good. “Elegant” might be going too far, but it’s almost there. The first worked well but looked decidedly clunky. The second reason is that the plastic lenses of the first two scratched too easily. That can be polished out, as my review of the wva640 acknowledges, but the plastic lenses ‘bulge out’ more than the flat glass, so this one is slimmer. If this one is as tough and reliable as the previous two, I will be well satisfied.

I have owned Brietling and Omega in the past, but now that Casio are adding style to their accuracy and reliability I see no reason to pay more.
…and I have no wish to have a watch that I “look after for the next generation”!!

  33. Anonymous says:

     United Kingdom

Looks good, is tough and does everything I want, i.e. I don’t have to do anything to it in normal use.
I can see that the inverse LCD display could be a problem for some people but I’ve never been in a situation where I’ve needed to check the date and I haven’t been in a well lit environment. Just in daily office use, I knocked the cheap, large watch I had while looking for a decent one so I decided to go for steel rather than titanium.

Golden Review Award: 11 From Our UsersThis is a superb watch. It is smart and professional in appearance, whilst being filled with ultra-nerdy technology.

The radio-controlled feature works well, and you can get it to tell you the date and time that it last received an update. It also successfully corrected itself when the clocks went back at the end of October.

The hands move around in perfect synch with the radio-received time, which I find incredibly satisfying. It even has a calibration mode so that you can ensure the hand positions are precisely correct. Out of the box, the minute hand was running 10 seconds fast, and it was easy to correct this.

The solar power feature also has a nice status report that will tell you the battery charge level. I also really like the way that the watch saves battery power by switching to a low-power mode at night, when it detects that it’s in a dark room (because a solar panel is also, of course, a kind of light sensor!).

The only possible down-side is that, as other people have mentioned, the LCD screen is a little on the dark side. On the other hand, I think that the white-on-black screen looks much smarter than the traditional alternative (which is also available on a similar model) – personally I wouldn’t trade mine for the other one, but you might consider it if you have poor eyesight, or if you think you’ll need to refer to the date display very frequently.

This watch is very stylish, accurate and advanced, and worth every penny. The all black styling looks very modern, with the gloss surround to the glass complimenting the slightly Matt bracelet. The hands are very clear to read at a glance and the digital display gives a multitude of information. The digital display is, however, a bit difficult to read in low light, and I find the watch needs tilting in the right direction to allow the available light to make it easier to read. The main advantage of this watch is its accuracy, due to its use of the atomic clock time signal, and also its ability to change when the clocks go back or forward. The light in the watch is enough to see the face and hands in the dark when needed, but does not light up the digital display, which is a shame. Battery will not need changing due to it being charged by the sun. A great watch that should last for many years. If it was made by another company, I am sure it would cost a fortune!

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis replaces an older Casio Waveceptor that I’ve had since 2007, still working but getting a bit battered. It has several advantages over my old one:
    1. The case is all metal, where the old one had some plastic parts coated with metal, which fell off eventually
    2. Sapphire glass, so much more resistant to scratches
    3. Bigger face, helpful when the eyes are getting dodgy!
    4. Less bulky than the old one, 9mm thick instead of 11, but still quite hefty on the wrist

It’s a very smart looking watch, the button functions take a little getting used to but nothing too complex. Once it’s synched it’s time with the radio stations (which it does automatically at night, but can be made to do manually) it’s very accurate.
Nicely packed in a metal tin, the only downside I can find is that the digital display can be a little hard to make out, but it looks nicer than the alternative.

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersInitial review after 1 week

For me to purchase (yet) another watch it had to be a watch that was like a Swiss Army Knife, one that had all the functions I wanted on one watch, I had all the items on my wish list covered over a variety of other watches but not all in the one place (apart from my old faithful Casio Waveceptor watch has far less days in front of it than behind it.).

    Needs/Wants included:
    – Ideally an analog display + digital if necessary to cover functions
    – Easy to read
    – No batteries to worry about, OK this was a want not a need
    – Easy to read stop watch to 1/10th sec (1/100 sec preferred)
    – A known make
    – Personal alarm, not a wake the nation alarm
    – Good luminescence of hands or ideally a light
    – Count down timer, OK another want not a need.
    – Slim metal case and band
    – Radio controlled sync of time
    – World time for when I’m travelling
    – and finally UNDERSTATED design

Well it took many (OK not THAT many) years to come up with a watch that met the above, and I found it by accident on Amazon. The watch face is large but understated, the digital display does not scream “I’m a techie from planet Technerd” but is also understated but is also easy to read in most lighting conditions, it could be said that the digital display hides well in the analog watch face. There is a model available without the negative digital display that would be easier to read but for me it does not fit with the classical face of this version.

It’s a slim watch as well,, solar powered so no need to keep up with battery changes. It syncs with the radio clocks in more countries than I’m likely to visit for extended periods, a stop watch to 1/100 sec, a count down timer, world time and it can even tickle a little glow worm into action to illuminate the analog display once the luminosity has given up on the hands, sadly not the digital display. It also has world time.

Strap adjustment should be easy with the right tools, a jeweler should be able to do it in 10 minutes for about a fiver. Anyone doing it at home must be careful not to loose the small friction tube that sits in the middle of the link that stops the pins falling out.

Build quality is good and even has synthetic sapphire glass although the bracelet does sometimes snag a wrist hair. The buttons are small but usable, no winder to dig into the wrist either. Setting up is easy if you follow the instructions, mine was delivered showing the time in Paris but this was easily changed. Charging was pretty quick in a few hours on the windowsill. Given the relative slimness and functions of the watch I’m not sure that it would function for many months in the dark though unlike my Citizen watches that can go for a year living in a tunnel but they are more bulky or with less features.

Other points are that the hands are correctly calibrated to the second and minute markers just like my other analog Casio Edifice watch (something that most watch manufacturers should learn from), The manual covers everything and not just a quick start then get on the web like some premium brands I will not name do. It’s also water resistant although nothing really deep, I take mine off for washing up or in the shower, it should be more than fine in a storm though assuming that you are not at the bottom of a lake.

So far I am very happy with it. Well done Casio! For once a stainless steel analogue watch that can hold it’s own against more premium brands including the Casio Edifice range. My previous Casio watches were plastic cased with a plastic strap. This is not a cheap watch though, it punches well above its price point for looks, features and style.

I have had more Casio watches and calculators in my fifty years on this ball and none has ever failed due to poor workmanship although straps have come and gone and gone again.

I will update this review as time goes on should it change from the above.

Watch looks exacly as on webpage. First look: bracelet would look better in matt finish. Reasonable easy to remove extra links (pay attention to tiny steel rings in the middle part of each link). Watch face really great – nice shine, beautiful, modern design. Itriguing, unusual backlight. Manual clear and easy to understand, timekeeping perfect, sapphire glass – even synthetic – is a great bonus for that level of money paid. Not to mention the solar drive. Well done, CASIO! Love this watch.

Golden Review Award: 17 From Our UsersI have had many watches including a 3000 Rolex and looked at hundreds at up to 700 before choosing the Casio. So far I would say that this is the best everyday watch I have ever owned and represents fantastic value for money. All of its foibles are minor and most are consequences of pragmatic design decisions that make the watch what it is. I also considered the Casio WVA-M640D-2AER at around 100 but it had a couple of features that I thought problematic for a watch that will be worn 24/7. If I hadn’t have found this model I would have gone for the cheaper one and if I had to choose between the Casio and my Rolex then I would choose the Casio in a heart beat. Highly Recommended

    PROS
    STYLE
If you like understated and elegant watches then this one fits the bill.
I like the classic analogue watch combined with a high tech LCD display that does not detract from the overall look of the watch.
The three side buttons are nicely recessed so maintain the slim and stylish looks of the watch.
    SIZE AND COMFORT
Very slim for a watch considering the technology. I considered the Tissot T-Touch range but they are massively bulky in comparison.
I have a thin wrist at about 19cm and it fits perfectly with the face being about as much as the width of my wrist can take without looking bulky.
The Casio sits very flat on my wrist and its surprisingly light in fact you easily forget it is there.
The strap clasp is very effective and sits flat when closed.
    BUILD QUALITY
The case and strap are titanium and the finish looks impressive.
From what I had read it seemed that the lower price Casio model had a part plastic body, which I wasn’t too sure about.
It is true that the hands actually match up with the decals, something that my Rolex didn’t do and it just makes you feel that Casio are dedicated to accuracy.
Has an anti reflective synthetic sapphire crystal that should make it highly scratch resistant and is one of the reason I chose this model over the cheaper version.
The watch hands and decals fluoresce in the dark but the delicacy means there is little surface area so the effect only lasts for an hour or so in the dark. However there is a back light that works quite well.
Waterproof to 5 Bar which should be fine for showers and baths.
    FIT AND FORGET TECHNOLOGY
Taking the watch out of its package it immediately woke up and the hands whirled around to synchronise with the atomic clock signal, unfortunately it was for the wrong city but a in a few seconds I adjusted it to London and it corrected itself.
The battery had a medium charge but exposing it to a sunny day for a couple of hours charged it to full power.
As it also has a programmed calendar and British summer time it never needs adjusting or battery changes.
    FUNCTIONALITY
With 5 day alarms, stopwatch, countdown timer, and world time for 300 cities and a back light it is a high functioning watch.
    USABILITY
The manual is very small and thick and could be carried around in a pocket, which is good because for the first few days you may need it.
With only three buttons and many functions it is quite a complex watch to use, however Casio have been very clever and consistent in the use of the buttons so it doesn’t take long for the setting of functions to become intuitive.
    VALUE FOR MONEY
Terrific given looks, build quality, functionality and the technology.

    CONS
Classic styling may not suite all.
Finish. I assume there is a black coating on the strap that may scratch. Only time will tell.
LCD display is quite dim for aesthetic reasons and some people with sight issues may have problems reading it.
Would like to be able to have specified specific days for a couple of the day alarms.
The alarm signal is not loud enough to use as a reliable wake up call and it could benefit from a vibration option.
Unless you have the right tools the bracelet needs adjusting by a Jeweller unlike the cheaper version, for which it is apparently much easier to remove links.
Some may consider Casio to be the Skoda of the watch world and associate it with cheaper and nastier products, where in reality they may be relatively cheap, but are a million miles from nasty (just like Skoda).
Only 5 bar waterproof. I prefer overkill when it comes to waterproofing and would have liked 10 Bar but this may have required a domed glass and bulkier buttons and spoilt the looks of the watch.
The very small manual may be difficult to read for some, but there is an online version.
Small point but if it’s a gift for someone then the tin (yes it is just a small tin) it comes in is not the most lush looking presentation box, although it is fine as packaging.

Golden Review Award: 14 From Our UsersA few years back I bought myself a Citizen Eco drive watch and loved the fact that I never needed to change the battery , I would have loved one that was also remote control but for a Citizen eco drive with this function you are talking the best part of 500.

My dad liked the idea of a watch where you didn’t need to change the battery or adjust the time also , so I took a chance and bought him this Casio LCW-M170D-1AER , I have had a digital waveceptor watch for some years now for work (a cheep digital one 30 ish) and it has been a fantastic little watch , so knew that the solar function on the Casio range worked well.

This LCW-M170D-1AER has exceeded my expectations , the picture here does it no justice , It looks far nicer in real life.

Upon opening the metal presentation case the analogue hands span round and displayed the correct time , the digital date and day also synced.

A quick read of the manual and 2 minutes of selecting a few settings (setting home location & alarms) and the watch was good to go.

I would not hesitate to buy another of these watches and am seriously considering buying one when my Citizen reaches old age.

Golden Review Award: 32 From Our UsersIf you want a watch that simply does its job without fuss, then Wave Ceptors have to be the answer. This is the second one I’ve had, the first is 8 years old (model WVA-430DU-1AVER) and has never missed a beat — I’ve never had to set it, wind it, change its battery, update it for Summer Time, or indeed do anything except wear it, and it’s always been dead accurate.

My old one has, however, become a bit cosmetically scruffy, and this one that I’m reviewing (the LCW-M170DB-1AER model) is slimmer and better-looking. It’s all-black, which I like — although they may have gone a bit too far, in that the small digital display has silvery digits on a black background, which are much harder to read than the old black-on-white. But hey, it looks nice

I whole-heartedly recommend Wave Ceptors to anyone, the only points to be aware of before you buy it are:
    – Be prepared to spend a few minutes with the manual before you start to use it, to set the watch up for your location and set the digital display to show the day/date
    – If you want to use all of its many facilities — stop watch, world time, countdown timer, etc. etc. — then be prepared to spend time reading the manual. These watches pack in a lot of functionality, and understanding how to use it all requires a bit of effort
    – You might need to adjust the strap. You may prefer to pay a jeweller to do it, but you can do it yourself. When I did it, Googling “wave ceptor tough solar band adjustment” turned up a very useful video by username mrbbowdenster. This does apply to this model, but be aware that the bands on different models of Wave Ceptors look identical, but they may not be. I know of at least three different types, each with a different adjustment process.

Postscript: I’ve just realised that I’ve had this watch for nearly 5 years since I wrote the original review, above. I’ve worn it just about all day every day, and it’s been excellent – it’s never missed a beat, and never needed any charging or adjustment of any kind. Cosmetically, it still looks great; the glass is perfect, as are the black watch case and the band.
There are two almost-unnoticeable scratches on the flat part of the clasp, but that’s it.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersThis watch is exactly what I wanted. No problem with receiving the time signal, so far it has received the signal every morning at first attempt and I wear it in bed. All black and not too large with a second hand which actually lines up with the batons. I have paid this much for a watch and the second hand falls between the markers. A bit fiddly to adjust the strap as there is a little tube which falls out of the link which has to be put back in before inserting the pin. Delivery from WatchIsland in Germany to the UK took about a week. They responded almost immediately to queries by Email.
