Preis / Leistung absolut OK!
I bought the celestron nexstar 102 slt for astrophotography and didn’t expect too much from it but i soon learned otherwise it is incredible and as long as you completely level the mount it wi take you to the target or at least get really close and will continue to track pretty accurately and you are not limited to just 30s exposure, depending on where the object its you can go to about 75s, I’d say its 100% worth the money and the visuals are still impressive even from a heavily light polluted area! I would recommend.
Bought this Celestron telescope for when my granddaughter is old enough. Tonight we observed the moon. The telescope was easily setup and easy for us to use. I hope she gets into it!
matriel bien emball,
Merci
As a long time astronomer I enjoy this telescope very much. Nice clarity, very easy to set up and it travels well with its light weight. A good choice for beginner or pro.
My brother gave me a Celestron 114 Powerseeker Newtonian telescope that he had given his son . His boy didn’t want it so i got it. It gave me the itch. I put that baby on craigslist with a bunch of other stuff I never use and bought this. first time out, worked flawlessly. 3 star alignment and I was up and running. Smooth moving and a good light catcher. I started collecting the things I need to have a good stargazing. I bought a Celestron 13% moon filter for the eyepiece, a 4 color lens kit for enhancement and they work well. I also bought the WIFI Skyportal module and the Celestron Power tank. Also an Orion Star Shoot Solar System Color Imager IV. With the Skyportal app on my tablet, the WiFi adapter will, after the 3 star alignment, take me to the object I choose. I think it is awesome and I am sure I will upgrade one day. I am very pleased. Only thing that chaps my hide is that I live in Oregon, and I have had about 6 days of clear skies since I bought it 3 weeks ago. Oh well, there will be nights in the spring when I will go camp at Mt. St. Helens, and if you have ever been there then you know what the night skies bring.
Survived the shipping experience in excellent condition. Everything inside was well packed. Worked flawlessly from the get go and is proving to be a very useful grab and go scope. The StarAlign process is pretty easy and the hand controller is easy to learn. The diagonal and supplied eyepieces are candidates for replacement with something higher quality but otherwise the scope optics are fine. Bought a Cen-Tec 5 in1 power pack from Harbor Freight for $90 to supply 12vdc. Also bought some Sorbothane vibration pads for the tripod feet. Overall a good investment for the money.
This telescope worked flawlessly right out of the box. Excellent optics and the go to function eliminates the light pollution problem of star hopping with stars you can’t see. I pick an object on the Skeye app on my smart phone, enter it in the hand controller, and spend my time viewing instead of looking for the object. I got the car lighter cable and rigged it to a sealed lead acid battery to save on AA batteries. It tracks beautifully. I use the 8mm to 24mm Celestron zoom eyepiece exclusively. I also use the 2x Celestron Barlow lens. The eyepiece and Barlow both have large glass lenses and are heavy unlike cheaper optics. I’ve been able to see the Cassini division in the rings of Saturn and many Messier objects. It usually completes the 3 star alignment on the first try. I did change out the red dot finder with a Rigel Quick finder I already had. The original finder was acceptable but the Rigel finder is easier for me to use. This is an excellent telescope. The unusually long two year warranty is extra peace of mind.
Months later. I have continued using my Nexstar SLT 102MM REFRACTOR and am more and more pleased each month. I’ve had it at leadt 18 months now and added the STARSENSE auto alignment accessory. I’m too old to do a lot of bending to align it. With the STARSENSE I aim the scope at blank sky and it aligns perfectly. I use the manual mode because of obstructions in my yard. I also modified the tripod for equatorial alignment. I extended two legs fully and bolted an angle iron piece between them close to the ground. I put a long bolt on the center of the angle iron to add 15 lbs.of weights to keep it from tipping over. The third leg is fully retracted and a short piece of angle iron extends it away from the accessory tray support to achieve 38 degrees. I took a 65 second exposure of the Orion nebula with no star trails and rosy faint clouds easily seen. I LOVE THIS SCOPE.!!! I could get a heavier mount made for the task but the extremely lightweight tripod is so easy. You can see some of my astrophotos on cloudynights.com under user name ae4gm2003 along with my equatorially adjusted modification. It still tracks in the alt/az mode with this setup. Using STARSENSE there is no need to level the tripod. I also now put fresh AA batteries in the mount along with the AC adapter plugged into it so no intermittent disconnect messes up my alignment.
This telescope is my first, and a great way to get into astronomy, have had it a couple of months now. And it is so much fun, it was so simple to get going, I had it up and running in ten mins on my first go!!,the planets and moon through this are great, Jupiter is my fave, looks like a white pea with a couple of reddish lines going through it, and 4to7little dots next to it(moons), don’t sound great but remember this is a small low priced telescope(great value for the money),you are not gonna see loads with this. But, it will teach you so much about the night sky,and it’s really portable, i carry it in a big bag, and it takes only ten minutes to get it out and running, the goto is not 100percent accurate, but it points you in the right direction, and your own brain works out the rest( makes you feel useful), the eye pieces you get are quite good, get a Barlow and it’s all you need, I bought some really expensive ones, but on the intention of a much bigger scope in a year or 2, they don’t make a great deal of difference with this low powered scope, it really is a great learning tool tho, and I’ll never get rid of it, as it will great for my 2 year old in a few years time .And highly recommend it as a beginners only telescope
I’ve had this telescope for over a month now it’s a really impressive product. The go-to feature makes finding things in the sky a breeze but what I love is it keeps what you are looking at centred in the eyepiece, the mount countering the Earths spin. The only complaint I would make is that the focussing mount rocks as it is raised and lowered so it takes it out of collimation, you have to push against the mount after turning the focus wheel. It’s an inconvenience but overall this is great telescope.
It has a maximum magnification of 250 and with a 6mm and x2 Barlow you can get close to that. Out of the planets I’ve only really had a chance to look at Jupiter but the bands on its surface were clearly visible. Using it to look at the Moon reveals craters within craters as you can get in really close. I love this telescope and it has really expanded what I can see. This is my first computerised telescope, having moved up from a smaller reflector. This scope was about the top of my price range(the next step up is the 600+). I think for price vs quality and number of features its a really good balance. I went for this over the skymax although there’s not a lot to choose between them on paper, I’ve not tried a skymax so can’t comment on the differences
I would agree with some previous comments; the mount should be a bit chunkier, on high magnification just a light touch on the eyepiece causes the image to wobble a lot and it takes a while to settle down. Also you have to be very accurate for the alignment to work properly, And make sure you choose alignment stars a good distance away from each other – nothing worse than having aligned three stars and then the handset telling you ‘alignment failed’!
This scope eats batteries, so it’s well worth getting a 12v dc adaptor.
I am delighted with the telescope. The images are perfctly clear, and the finder scope is very easy to set up and use. The one drawback I have encountered is the fully computerized hand control. The instuctions are, in places, very poorly translated from an oriental language and are difficult to make sense of. they also seem to not be as complete as they could be.
I have only had two observing sessions, and I have yet to be able to align the scope with the computer hand control. After alignment, when I slew to the next object, the alignment is considerably out.
I contacted Celestron, and they e-mailed me and said to basically do what I had already done!
Admitedly, because I have not been too well, I have not yet had another chance to align the scope, so here’s hoping next time will be better.
Also, I am not beginner in astronomy or computers, so I don’t think the fault is mine. I will update my review when I am able to try again.
Finally, the scope itself is very good, especially for the price.
