Use them for wildlife watching across the bay. Been very impressed by them. Great value for money. Much better than my previous Bushnell H20. Just the right weight to steady the hand.
What a great pair of Binoculars for the money, well built and feel more expensive than they are. I went for the nature dx after reading reviews on YouTube rather than on here. They really do have great reviews for an entry level, you won’t be disappointed.
Had a pair of Olympus before these and there is not much difference to be honest, but a good binocular for birdwatching, nice crisp vision. Between 4 and 5 stars.
Compact and easily focused with a great carrying case and protection for all the lenses.
Bought them for our holiday to Alaska and Canada. Bit larger than I envisage, but that was my fault.
Lenses were excellent, although sometimes if not held correctly you got some shadow.

Simply the best binoculars i have used.
On a recent camping trip with the kids I was able to glass a stork catching fish and watch fish swimming up close in clear waters. The focus is fantastic quickly changing to your new distance. Picture is crystal clear, very happy camper…no pun intended!
For general use these are pretty good for the price. A good close focus too. For general bird watching they are ok except for watching birds in the sky as the image although quire crisp has too much of a green/yellow tinge to the edge.
i would say these binoculars are as good as you will get for around a 100.00

I bought these binoculars for astronomy. I used to use 10×50 binoculars, but found that they started giving me backache after about 30 minutes into an observing session. I also found it difficult to hold them steady, especially as the observing session went on. These lighter 8×42 binoculars provide me with far less backpain and I am able to hold them steady for far longer too. The optics of these binoculars appear to be very good too, in terms of what I can see in the night sky, and the contrast is good.
Only had these for a month but the build seems solid and the view through them are excellent. Can’t compare with any super expensive ones but they are excellent for what I want which is to use on local walks for wildlife spotting and in the garden to identify the many birds we get.
These must be really good. My daughter borrowed them the day they arrived and I haven’t seen them since
I’m very happy with this product, which I take on coastal and woodland walks for bird, dolphin and seal spotting. It represents great value for money, offering just below the very finest quality image at a fraction of the cost of the best products of similar spec. Although lightweight, the binoculars are robust and sturdy and have proven waterproof in some pretty poor weather. They are easy to focus but the dials are stiff enough to hold focus during the course of long walks.
I found two more serious issues.
Quality control is perhaps a little wanting; I had to return a pair which arrived with the logo disc hanging off, barely stuck in place. My Zeiss are thirty years old, I can’t be sure the Celestron will last as long.
As someone who doesn’t wear specs and with my particular facial anatomy I found the eye relief inadequate – the eyecups don’t extend enough hence the only way to avoid vignetting is to hold the bins a couple of mills away from the face resulting in a less stable viewing. I note a few other reviewers have found the same problem. But……….
…..I have found a very effective and dirt-cheap solution which brings the eyecups out a further distance. I guess the downside is this puts the warranty at some risk although my fix, with a fresh application of adhesive, is almost fully reversible.
The rubber eyecups are fixed to the extender rings by a rubber adhesive – I was able to peel the cups off with relatively little effort. I then cleaned off the superfluous rubber adhesive. I inserted 3 (some might find 2 would be adequate) C.N.A.F fibre washers 38 x 27 x 2mm. These are a perfect fit and I picked up a pack of 10 washers for less than 3.
See pics for visual clues. Just to indulge my OCD I painted the washers, having first superglued three of then together, with mat black paint. The second pic shows one barrel with the unpainted washers, the other painted.
This is probably the cheapest branded binocular on the market which sports BAK4 prisms. I found other cheaper binoculars claiming to have BAK4 but those were not known/recognized brands so I picked this. The results are great considering the price. Binocular is solidly made, feels very sturdy in hand and is not as heavy. 10×42 is actually very compact.
Picture results are great in good lighting conditions for well lit objects from a distance of 50 meters to 600 meters. Objects further away do no focus very clearly and details become fuzzy. The same is true for low light conditions. At night medium to well lit objects in optimal range show great but viewing experience degrade very quickly with lower lighting and longer distances.
I’d would highly recommend this for someone looking for a binocular for casual use, occasional fair weather birding or hiking etc.. 4 years ago when I bought my first binoculars 10-50 I quickly realized that those just don’t work and are total waste of money and time so if you really need a bino for viewing then buy this or something similar. For more serious uses specially for longer ranges, this is not the perfect choice (in my opinion at least).
An online review recommended these binoculars and I haven’t been disappointed.
A bit of background, I am an optics freak who tested and owned more than twenty pairs of binoculars, to name some of the brands Bushnell, Vortex, Nikon, Minox and Steiner all ranging from 300 to about 500
Here is what I look for in a pair of binoculars to pass my test for birding purpose.
Good FOV
Reasonable edge to edge sharpness
Neutral colour rendition
Good Eye relief
Sharpness in the centre and well controlled chromatic aberration.
Absence of lens flare, reflection and ghosting
Good barrels alignment
Good ergonomic
Now testing binoculars under different light conditions will ultimately provide an overall score of the image quality but for this review my test was under a bright sunny and slightly hazy spring day.
First time handling the Celestron, it was nice surprise, they felt compact and rather easy to handle with one hand. I do like the design and the green rubber armour. Looking through them was a breeze, eye relief was excellent and alignement or the barrels is spot on. There was no overlapping or the need to readjust my eyes. The view is totally relaxed, immersive and almost with a 3D feel that you get in Porro prism. So far two major areas passed with flying colours. At this point I am slightly annoyed since my benchmark binocular that cost 3 times the price has one issue and that is having to readjust my eye positioning. Let’s moving on! Image quality is where I am very demanding, the first thing I noticed colour pallet packs a punch, leaning toward warmth which surprisingly I found it to be rather nice to have popping colours coming from my neutral benchmark binocular. Sharpness test, a binocular is worth nothing if it cannot precisely focus to pick out details. Well, let me tell you this pair is a bad boy when it comes to center image sharpness, I was actually picking out fine details on leaves about 20 meters away, quite simply gob smacking at this price point. The field of view was decent and never felt narrow, it’s not a 8 + but better than some 8×42 double the price. The sharpness across the FOV start to soften from about 75% from the centre, this acceptable at this price point and who cares really since most people would be glassing in the centre of the image!
CA is well controlled with a small hint in the centre but overall really well suppressed.
In my test there was no flaring and straight light from the sun was nicely controlled. This is an area where most entry level binoculars fails miserably and makes the binocular almost unusable.
The only thing that was clearly apparent between the Celestron and my 8×42 Opticron Natura ED is the brightness of the image. The Celestron has really punchy colours but lacked the luminosity that my Opticron provides. Despite the Celestron had a less brightness the image remained vibrant and I could still make out the same details. I would still consider it just because how well it executes other areas like the immersive view and sharpness. My Opticron delivers outstanding light transmission & colour fidelity that matches the Zeiss conquest HD. If you have a budget of 100 go with Celestron and you would be very happy but if you want top quality glass without breaking the bank, I suggest you take a look through Opticron.
If you have nothing to compare the Celestron to ie a 600 pair of binocular these would surprise you by their sharpness and lovely vibrant colours.
Btw I test binoculars side by side before purchasing and I when purchased my Natura ED I put it up against Vanguard Ed II, Nikon HG and Zeiss Terra ED
Only had these a week but very happy so far. Excellent close focus.
I bought these binoculars as a replacement for a pair of cheap non-brand binoculars that went out of collimation after a year of almost constant use. I went for these binoculars as they were highly recommended for birding and so far they haven’t disappointed. With the previous cheap pair of binoculars, ID’ing birds in low light was very difficult, often the colour and fine detail couldn’t be seen. In comparison to the previous pair, the Celestron’s at a mere 35 increase in price are magnificent. They’re comfortable to hold, they produce sharp, bright and clear images with very little chromatic aberration, the wide field of view makes objects much easier to find. The rain guard and the objective covers stay on with a nice squish. I’ve also used them for a bit of back garden astronomy and plane spotting, they do fine for both subjects but an 8×42 isn’t the best type of binocular for that but still very useable. I’ve had them mounted on a tripod and the extra stability improved the image quality even further.
Like with anything in life they do have some minuses. The neck strap is poor quality, despite being nitrogen filled they do fog in minus temperatures, the image isn’t sharp at the edges. But all-in-all I’m very happy with these binoculars.
General usage, especially wildlife. Binoculars perform very well indeed. Image quality is top rate. No barrel distortion; no colour fringing; lens quality good to the point were I cannot detect any fall-off in sharpness across the width of the lens—if you were to peer at the extreme edges of the lens then you might just detect a minor drop-off in sharpness–this is not something that would happen in practice. As a final comment I would happily recommend these binos, there is nothing to disappoint–they feel very well built indeed. As I cannot find any fault whatsoever I have to give them five-stars. (5*) Also, the 6′ 5″ close focus is perfect for reading small print on the T.V.
Lightweight but good quality build. Clear view and easy to adjust.
Fantastic binoculars for the money. I use them for bird watching and they are perfect. They give a brighter view on a dull day. As others pointed out you do need to fully extend the eye cups if you don’t wear specs , but this is not an issue. I am thinking about buying a second pair – 10x or 12x – for shorebird watching, where the extra magnification would be handy. I found the strap and bag adequate, but strangely the strap in the bag was not long enough to wear it across your body, but a very minor issue. Overall Highly recommended and I would buy them again if the need occured. 5 Stars.

SHORT SUMMARY – seriously, just buy them, used these for a year and they are super. These are lightweight, really good quality optical images with very adaptable use cases from bird watching to astronomy. My sons has a very high opinion of these binoculars. He loves them. Excellent quality of view for the price – there is zero noticeably photochromic aberration in any situation, the exit pupil is great for low light situations.
Eye Relief, I wear glasses and eye relief is perfect using with them fitted. Obviously, at night I use them without glasses and the eye relief is easy to change between them with 3 firm twist positions
Light weight – easy to handle for long periods of time with no shake from heart beat, at about 600g perfect weight to take on a hike.
Comfort of Use, nice position of indents in the bridge moulding and not at all slippery. Feel really nice to hold
Focusing – the focus movement is easy to move and fast to adjust
Covers, easy to use, offer good protection. Easy to flick them off with your little pinkie finger when you spot something to investigate
USE CASES
Birdwatching, very adaptable being light and easy to focus so very easy to keep up with moving targets, often using in low light and image is still really decent as they have good exit pupil 42/8 = >5mm
Astronomy – great for a quick star gaze, light enough to not have heart beat twitching you get with heavier binoculars, yet they do catch a lot of light so easy to see clearly, likes of the Beehive, Andromeda or Orion’s Scabarb.
I will repeat, my son has found these a great piece of kit to help learn and enjoy birdwatching or his our way around the night sky.
Value for Money – EXCELLENT
I think for most people these binoculars would be very good, but for me they good be better. The problems I have with them are that the eye pieces do not twist and extend far enough out and I am left with black marks around my vision, and the other problem is, they do not close focus as close as stated. I have a more expensive pair of Pentax binoculars which do not cause any of these problems. The view that I do get when looking through the Celestrons shows that they are sharp and have good colour rendition and it is just a shame they have some issues for me.
Bought these binoculars for watching birds and other wildlife. Perfect for the job and good build quality.

I Good balance of performance against price, certainly you can get better performing optics, but for this price they dont dissapoint. They appear to be quite waterproof, this was tested on rescent visit to Scotland.
I’ve had a sudden urge to take up bird watching as I constantly see so many varieties in my garden and I wanted to view them closer up.
Did my research and read many reviews which lead me to buy this pair and I have to say I am very impressed.
I purchased the 8×42 DX.
The binoculars are lightweight and solidly built.
Looking through them the image is incredible clear and sharp and gives an almost three dimensional result.
It’s also a very bright image.
I have a small face and being able to adjust the binoculars to the width of my eyes is perfect.
The only thing I noticed, which isn’t a big deal is the slight chromatic aberration, the green and magenta kind, when looking at an object against an overcast, white sky. It wasn’t bad but I did notice it.
Overall a great pair of binoculars.
Highly recommend it, especially to beginners who are looking for their first pair.

The Binoculars are first class for the price.
The build quality looks solid enough. The case and strap are not the best but the binoculars themselves (the important bit) looks good. The image is bright and easy to focus. My eyesight isn’t great but to my eyes the image was reasonably sharp to the edges. There was minimal chromatic aberrations. Overall the image was very acceptable for cheap binoculars. There is a mount point for an adaptor for use with a tripod or monopod. I can’t see us using a tripod with them but I think she may benefit using a monopod if she has to hold them for a long time. I already have a monopod so we will dive that a go.
I have no idea how well they will stand up over time? Due to my very poor eyesight in one eye I tend to use a monocular but I might borrow these for a bit of birding from time to time.
Overall I think these are good value for money at 90. I am not convinced I would pick these if they were at their highest price of 160 as there might be a better option at that price point.
Buying binoculars is challenging: especially identifying a product with an adequate quality threshold at an affordable price. For me, this pair achieve this threshold comfortably and I would find it diffcult to justify greater expenditure in an attempt to access marginal gains in quality.
Probably a bit to powerful for me but excellent build ,a bit heavy
