As a complete novice to astronomy I found these lenses to be more than adequate for my needs. When I get a little more experienced I will upgrade myself to better lenses
The eye pieces are great however the box doesn’t close properly making using the eyepieces difficult because if the box falls off something the eyepieces will fall ou
Definitely needed this for my scope to line up the moon ects
Only really bought this for the finder scope but I am impressed with the whole kit. The lenses are quite decent and at the price I would recommend this as a useful accessory to any telescope.
Swapping the standard eyepiece with the 2x one makes thing look like they are 2x closer. Magic, right?
I haven’t had a clear night to make use of it, yet.
You’ve lost your old eye pieces for that telescope collecting dust? This is what’s needed to get the kids interested or even yourself back into exporting the heavens. Good quality pieces.
This little box adds the most needed accessories to a standard astronomical telescope. I have a Celestron NexStar 127SLT. The two eyepieces bundled are simply not enough to appreciate the sky glories. This box is the core minimum to add.
great price especially as it came with 2 eyepieces and a bag (bags just rainproof not padded so take care a little)
Bought this as a gift and while the lenses etc seem great, the case it all came in is faulty as it doesn’t properly close. Feels very cheaply made and a bit embarrassing when given as a present.
Its not obvious in the title, if you are looking for a cheap finderscope for a telescope this is what you want! Also the findscope has 2 holes on either side 1 inch apart – although this is not obvious from the picture either!
Includes also a handy bag you can carry your lens in and starry night software basic version, for free.
Fit my telescope fine. I suppose they are pricey if you don’t use them often but are great for spotting the odd green man in out-space when you do get them out.
Great maginifcation with these! Good quality with filters attached. I highly recommend.
I’ve only had my Newtonian telescope 3 months (Celestron Astromaster 130EQ) which came with 10mm and 20mm eyepieces. So I’m very much a beginner.
This set fit perfectly with my telescope and the filters fit perfectly on my existing eyepieces and the eyepieces this set came with.
Personally I’ve found the 10mm the sharpest but I also find it excellent with the 2x Barlow lens as it gives a much closer view. The 15mm and 20mm are very sharp but a wider field of view and I prefer a the closer images.
The 6mm does provide a good zoomed in view but is slightly less sharp in the image. This is great for the moon and focusing on specific features for my telescope but is just slightly less sharp than I’ve found the 10mm plus eyepieces to be. Again using the Barlow lens I’ve personally found using the 10mm with it to be a sharper image than the 6mm.
I’ve also got an adapter to take pictures through the telescope with my phone. This has worked well with the 15mm and my existing 10mm but is definitely harder with the 6mm due to how small the eyepiece is. So I’ve used the 15 and 10mm with the Barlow lens which have been great.
The moon filter is amazing for viewing the moon and Venus it stops the brightness and allows you to see details on the moon hidden when it’s too bright. I have also used the blue and red filters on Venus as it’s so bright at the moment. These do remove a lot of the light and change the colour you see but that was what I was counting on to try and get sharper views of the planet without the glare.
I can’t wait to use them on Jupiter to see if they help show the bands etc. but They’ve not been visible in the sky yet.
Overall the kit is excellent. I couldn’t afford all these items separately and they so far have been great quality and really helped with different views and pics of the moon and Venus.
I hope the review helps anyone who’s similar to me, fairly new to astronomy.
Essential stargazing kit for the Celestron Powerseeker telescope. Barlow lens, plus lenses that sit well between the stock lenses plus all the main filters for best viewing of the moon mars Venus Jupiter and Saturn. Great kit and good value.
Extra eyepieces and filters all add to the telescopes viewing capabilities, but a collimation cap could have been included.
Arrived 1 day early so far opened the box and the product is amazing now time to wait for night and see everything
Yes, fun to play with, when you want to look at the moon or next door neighbour cat, but will not be able to see any of the planets with the same quality as the moon. I was hoping with so many different lenses I will be able to see more detail, but can only see the outer shape and some colours. As mentioned earlier, moon watching is fun, so much detail, was able to take really good quality/detailed photos.
Arrived well within time and what a package. Well worth the cash. A treat to use and loving it on my Celestron 31051 AstroMaster 130EQ Reflector Telescope Motor Drive.
I bought these as an addition to the Celestron 31051 Astromaster 130EQ-MD for a present. They offer a good value extension to the telescope’s functionality
Great upgrade for any of the celestron astromaster telescopes (or any of the other basic scopes that only come with two lenses), brilliant value for money
Brought as a gift. A bit disappointed. The 2X Barlow lens is supposed to be 50.80mm so it can fit in the eyepiece of our Celestron Astromaster 130EQ telescope. It didn’t fit it was in fact 51.00mm a fraction to big so can’t use it.
Was given as a present which has ended up back at our house. Very good quality
Very nice bit of kit, use full and a handy box, but, even though it says it’s can attach a camera, you still need to buy another adapter for the lens to fit onto the telescope, not to expensive and depends on what camera you own!
The best addition that you can have to the Celestron NexStar SLT 130 Telescope.
Great magnification power that will take you to the limits of the telescope with good filters especially for the moon.
First lot of lenses i bought for my telescope, thought of it as a starter kit and its nice, Hard box with foam makes it nice and snug.
Lenses themselves i can’t speak for, only use them to look at the moon so far. Have no experience or other lenses to compare quality.
An excellent value for money collection of lenses and filters which will help you get more from a starter telescope. Compatible with any telescope which accepts 1.25″ eye pieces.
The telescope I bought came with 25mm and 10mm lenses, so the 15mm and 6mm lenses and the barlow lens included with this pack have been really useful.
I haven’t done much with the filters yet, but it’s good to know that they’re there when I’m ready for them.
Excellent starter kit for your telescope.
Compatible with Celestron NexStar series.
Cheap lenses but includes all you should need to get started.
Applicable for astrophotography.
Do not waste your time and money with Celestron 94303 Accessory Kit (150).
You can purchase high-quality lenses later in accordance with your particular needs.
The plastic box the items are sored in is poor quality and doesnt close securely, but this is a small issue. The accessories themselves are fine. A gift well recieved.
Bought this and the
Celestron 31051 Astromaster 130EQ-MD Motor Drive Reflector Telescope for my partner for Christmas, took me week’s to decide and after reading lot’s of reviews chose the two, I’m sure he will be happy with them both.. And order came next day after placing my order..
Excellent ! This was bought along with the celestron travel 70 scope and works well as I have just started with the telescope and these accessories I can’t say too much the now but they are off outstanding quality and well presented in box and seen easy to use
This was a good quality item very reasonably priced. I have given to a friend who said it has greatly enhanced her astronomical viewing over the period she has been using the various lenses and filters.
I’ve got an old Celestron Powerseeker 127eq and I’ve only ever used the eyepieces and lenses that came with it. I never thought that by changing/getting better eyepieces, would have improved the viewing from the telescope so much.
The 2x Barlow lens is miles better than the standard 3x one I got with my scope. It actually is quite heavy which is a sign of good materials being used.
The 2 eyepieces are also of very high standard and you really do get great views of Jupiter and Saturn through them. Even when you use the Barlow lens, there’s no distortion at all.
Out of the filters, the moon one is my favourite, and I don’t really use the other two.
The whole kit comes in a very nice protective case… which is actually quite small, but it does its job.
Overall, this is an excellent piece of kit to use for stargazing. Even if you haven’t got a powerful telescope these eyepieces will make a dramatic difference.
Bought the lenses for my telescope. Compact and neat carry box. Items fit snugly into their spaces in the foam compartments well. Only drawback so far in the weather! Not had much opportunity to try the lenses out. Have used the camera adapter lens. Got some interesting pics of the Moon and Jupiter.
So far so good!
Good quality filters and lenses bought separately add up to much more than the price of this item. The box is bit cheap the catch on the front is cheap and flimsy and can be quite difficult to operate in the dark when in use with your telescope
Having spent the money on the telescope I decided to buy this extra – it was about 50 so not cheap – but it is WORTH THE MONEY. It brings a number of good lenses, filters and a 2 x Barlow and a good one of those can be as much on its own – so if you’ve splashed out on the telescope – this is a worthwhile addition to the costs.
I would certainly recommend it and am glad I bought it.
This is a good starter pack and is excellent value for what you get. But on the smaller lenses the eye relief is terrible and so is the field of view
WE have a Celestron Nexstar 127 and these lenses fit perfectly. They arrived promptly and were well packaged. They are easy to fit and well manufactured. Great for any amateur astronomer.
These lenses are a must have for the celestron telescope, to see more clearly and not get blinded by the brightness of the moon with the moon flitters which are also included in the box
This is a great kit, great quality optics inside, and the filters are great, not sure weather it was worth the full price to be honest with you, but on saying that, i cant complain about the optics at all. The one thing i will say, is the cleaning cloth they send with it is as i always find, useless, stick to a soft cloth is your best option, as this one leaves fibers all over the lenses.
I have an Astromaster 70az and i bought this kit as an extra for the telescope. The quality of the eyepieces is good. The 2x power lens can be usefull with big eyepieces, such as the 20mm, but not necessary with the small ones. The filters are useful addition but i don’t use them often, except the moon filter.
I’m putting 4 out 5 stars because of the 15mm Kellner eyepiece. I would expect only Plssl eyepieces.
To complement by decent, but heavy, telescope, I bought a Celestron FirstScope. Now, if I fancy a little moon-watching, it’s a job of a minute or two to be up and running. These lenses and the moon-filter have turned the FirstScope into a much more usable device. There’s a limit of course but certainly for lunar observing and looking at the brighter planets, this kit is well worthwhile even for a small telescope.
as someone who doesn’t really know what he is doing with astronomy, I bit the bullet and got this lens kit to go with my telescope.
I have messed around with both lenses and the Barlow lens.
The lenses are great and offer something of value depending on what you are viewing in the night sky, although I must admit i am a little dissapointed with the barlow lens so far as this has not added much to my viewing pleasure.
Once the moon is higher in the night sky I will be able to make better use of the filters, until then I will continue to learn and enjoy this kit along with my telescope.
I have a small telescope which is great for ease of storage and traveling but as ever this limits the range….until I got this kit simply put this added fantastic magnification which helps bring planets in to range and makes the moon spectacular..especially through the filters….not the red filter won’t work on a smaller scope need to much light.
Celestron Nexstar 102GT Computerised Telescope I have a Nextstar 102GT so this review reflects the telescope as well as this kit. The supplied eye pieces dovetail size wise into the ones supplied with the telescope, and the barlow x2 also increases the power. So what can you see with it? This telescope does receive some mixed reviews. I live in a heavily light polluted area and using it outside the front of my house, with street lights, what were my results? In a word, satisfying. Using the barlow and the 6mm I aimed at Jupiter. The best way I can describe the size of the image is a marble held in your fingers. The cloud bands were visible, not with the same definition as a photo of course, nor the ‘red spot’, but several moons also in the same field of view.
True the image is a little shaky, but the telescope tracked, and allowed me to view for as long as I wanted. There is some colour aberration, but at this price point, seeing something with your own eyes, if this is your objective, it achieves that admirably. I’m waiting for Orion to rise at a more reasonable time to try observing the nebulae, as well as M31, but away from my local street lights, I’m confident I won’t be disappointed.
I also used the moon filter, does what it says on the tin, but it is not essential in my opinion for observing the moon. (Description details the full contents).
In conclusion, if you have one of these telescopes, then its a worthwhile purchase. Definitely cheaper than purchasing the components separately. The case matches the supplied (telescope) case. If anything it would be better of there was a larger combined case for all the items, and get yourself a little red keyring light or similar so you can identify each item when using it.
A must have kit for everyone owns a Celestron Astromaster Telescope. We tried the 6mm eyepiece last night and we saw the moon surface with a lot of details. Today we will try to see Saturn using 6mm and Barlow 2x eyepieces…..
A great little starter kit.
Managed to get a closer look at the moon with the filter, although not entirely necessary on some occasions.
The extra magnification has proven greatly beneficial though.
