Fantastic being taller I struggle with Moses baskets and how low they are. This is perfect plus I can have it next to my bed at a lower height.
Its very useful just as described will get it again for my sisters baby. A little tricky to assemble but worth the effort!
As others have observed, the instruction booklet is really terrible. We managed to follow an instructional video on YouTube to assemble, and it has been perfect on every way since. Foot operated button to raise and lower the basket is somewhat stiff but does the job.
Chicco Baby Hug 4 in 1.
First impression gives you confidence and reliability that your baby will be super safe inside.
Biggest benefit of owning one of these is that it can be used as a cot, recliner chair, high chair and first chair. You can feed your baby, play with baby or simply leave your baby while taking a nap.
Covered with soft fabric, it will provide comfortability for your baby and she/he will enjoy it.
Height adjustability is made easy by simply pressing the pedal with your leg while you have full control with both of your hands.
Straps that are within the design will provide additional safety and security while your baby sits in this 4 in 1 baby product.
If you are planning to buy something very useful and having 4 things in one, this one is definitely for you and your family.
As previously mentioned by other reviewers, the only real drawback with this product is the assembly instructions, and considering that so much effort has been put into the design features of this 4 in 1, it really is a shame that so little thought was put into those instructions. It’s understandable that if the instructions were typed, they would need to be translated into different languages for a wider market, but some illustrations (or preferably photos) would have been so much better than the rather poor diagrams.
However, once assembled, the ‘Chicco Baby Hug’ is an exceptional product, the overall quality really stands out, and despite being far from what anyone would call lightweight, it’s surprisingly easy to manoeuvre around. Although the adjustments to the Baby Hug are a little tricky to begin with (thanks again to the poor instructions), once you’ve mastered all of the positions, the versatility of the product makes the price of 219.99 really good value for money. The Baby Hug is advertised as a product suitable from birth to 3 years, and judging by the build quality alone, longevity really shouldn’t be an issue (but perhaps the little toys that are included won’t last quite that long).
I found this to be an amazing product that greatly exceeded my expectations. I love how versatile it is being able to use it as a baby cot but at the same time it’s adjustable to work as a chair.
The quality is fantastic feeling like a sturdy product. It’s also extremely soft and comfortable on areas it needs to be which is necessary for a small child. I did find the baby cot very easy to use, it was easy to adjust to get the exact height for feeding etc. it also has wheels it was very easy to move around the house but you could also lock it in one place to keep it secure and prevent it from moving.
Overall I think this an all-round fantastic product with great quality and I would recommend it.
Hope you found my review useful.
The first point to note is that this comes in a large heavy box. Initially, we thought, this meant is was all folded up and ready to unfold and use. Wrong … There is a long and rather frustrating assembly process that was not helped by the ambiguous instructions. If you get this, be prepared for some time and careful deciphering before you get this baby cot all up and running
We loved the colour. Totally neutral and yet soft and understated tones. The light grey with darker accent colour works really well for either boy or girl and is a clever choice to avoid the disappointment of ” we’ve run out of blue” or “pink” as the case might be.
We assembled the cot, well it can start like that and then be transformed later into a toddler high chair seat. It was a good size and leaves plenty of room for bedding and a soft toy. We also liked the way it folded up and down, plus the easy movement on the castors and brakes.
The other nice point is that all the limbs on the Baby Hug are rounded and smooth to touch. NO sharp edges, spikes or rough areas that our crawling toddler might find. This is a well thought out feature and makes the whole thing very safe to use both for us and the child.
Things we did not like so much … The chair comes with lots of adjustments for height, angles etc. Simply pushing the button or the lever did not always release these mechanisms easily and we discovered that it’s best to pull upwards slightly to relieve the pressure in order to make a smooth release of the mechanism and movement to the next setting.
Basically, this is a great all-in-one birth-to-toddler convertible device that fills all the in-between stages of a cot, to toddler high chair. We think the makers missed a trick, as it would have been nice to be able to unclip the chair and have it as a carry-cot as well. Nonetheless, a great all in one and well recommended for parents who want a space-saving device with good versatility
It came in parts, quite compact for the amount of pieces it was in. The toys were packed in a separate bag and so was the seat cover. We found the assembly to be a little bit challenging due to the instructions being not so clear as they were in diagram form. It may be helpful to some but not all. Would have liked there to be written captions for each picture/diagram. After a joint effort with a couple more people, we managed to get it together relatively quickly.
After working it all out I must say this product is simply amazing. My 4.5 month old baby has been perfectly settled ever since they went into it.
It’s so smooth and easy to pull from room to room as it has wheels and very easy to move into different positions and pull around on. My baby is so happy in it and whatever position it’s in, I am confident that it is safe and secure. The seat can move up and down with the foot lever at the bottom on the wheel base and I t’s also extremely easy to change the seat setting with the little clip lever at the top of the seat.
The padding in the seat is really well made and is very soft and almost has a memory foam like mattress. There is also a sturdy 5 point harness to keep baby from wriggling and slipping. It even comes with soft toys that hang from the handle and has several light and musical modes too.
Extremely happy with this product and will definitely be telling all my mummy friends about it!
This is amazing, a crib, cradle, high chair and table chair all in one. Everything you need. The instructions were a little hard to follow but I managed in the end. Sets up easy once you’ve worked out how to do it. The crib is a generous size, big enough to use until baby can pull themselves up. When converted to a cradle seat it has plenty of room, and the toys are easy to reach. There is a light and different music options on the toy bar. Night time melody’s aswell for sleep time. The height is easy adjusted by the pedal at the rear to convert to a high chair, very comfy and spacious for baby and feeding. Can also be pushed next to a table so your child can dine with you. Really impressed with this baby hug 4 in 1. It is so easy to covert between options and raise or lower. The toy bar is lovely with its light which can be switched in or off, melody selections and lullaby selections. The whole thing is very sturdy and on wheels so easy to manoeuvre. My granddaughter is 7 months and had plenty of room sleeping in this as a crib. As a cradle she was very content sat playing with the toys and looked extremely comfortable. Again in high chair mode she was very secure with the harness and had plenty of room. I would definately recommend this. No need to buy seperate items for your baby, this will provide comfort and grow with your child adapting its use as needed. Good value for all the use you will get from this
I think this is a very good product but I have to say from the start that it comes with the most frustrating, cryptic, incomprehensible set of instructions I have ever come across!
The product comes in pieces which need to be assembled but the assembly instructions are simply a series of line drawings which give you very little specific information. Honestly, after about the first ten or fifteen minutes I was ready to chuck the whole thing in the dustbin, I was that frustrated! However, we persevered and managed (more by trial and error than direction from the instructions) to get the thing assembled.
As I say, it’s a good product and I’m not saying don’t buy it – just don’t expect it to all click into place in a couple of minutes!
The product is very sturdily constructed with the base/frame of metal, which gives it a low centre of gravity to make it very stable and solid, standing on the floor. It has casters on the four feet that are lockable to move it around easily but then to keep it safely in one place when you want it to stay put.
The armature that supports the cradle/seat is height -adjustable. This is an example one thing that wasn’t clear on the instructions. There’s a foot pedal and I was pressing it and pushing it to see how to release the arm from its flatpack position. I discovered finally that you have to stamp on the pedal really heavily and then the armature, which seems to be on some kind of hydraulic mechanism, rises gently and smoothly upwards and you can choose the height and remove your foot to lock it there. That’s actually a really good thing because if you want to adjust the height while baby is still in the seat, slow and smooth is exactly what you want. You don’t want to be jerking and bumping baby around!
You’ll be able to see from the photos in the listing all the various positions and heights you can put this in. From a Moses basket to a baby seat to a high chair, which means it’ll continue to be useful for maybe 18 months of baby’s life and it’s certainly built robustly enough to last that long. So, while it’s not cheap, this cot/chair is very sturdily constructed, very versatile and will be applicable for quite a long time in baby’s development.
Just be ready for that nightmare half hour trying to work out how to put it together!
I love this product. It’s well built (to be expected from the brand and product type) and for such a small foot print you have everything from a normal sized Moses basket, to a floor level seat. The foot pedal allows easy transformation and it locks into each mode so no worries. It has a built in mobile to keep baby entertained. The adjustable height for feeding is a real help and you won’t realise how handy this is until you go away without it!
