Really good suction on this fan. We actually put the vent through the wall so was a bit of a hole cutting through the bricks but it was definitely worth it. Looks good and takes all the cooking smells and steam away 5
Great product.
I’m glad I bought it, it looks the part and it does exactly what it says on the tin!
You have different suction levels from 1 to 3 and a light so you can see better when cooking!
Loved the look of this cooker hood in our newly fitted kitchen!
There was a problem with the hood, there was no difference between suction levels 1, 2 & 3 so I emailed Ciarra.
The customer service was absolutely faultless! Replied within 12 hours with instructions on how to possibly remedy the problem but as this didn’t work we were offered a full refund or replacement. We asked for a replacement and it came within 3 days! The new one works as it should and we are very pleased with the product and would recommend this company and cooker hood.
Installed ok was worried about prev reviews saying the fan noise same on all 3 levels but I had no such issue
3 levels had different noises
My kitchen is open plan and cook curry’s a lot and would say 80% if cooking smells suctioned up withCarbon filter too
Looks stylish too. And the cooker light is great so don’t have to cook with full tube light on in kitchen
Only thing is that I have v high ceiling and chimney hood wasn’t high enough to reach ceiling so looking for extension for tha
Chimney was longer than I thought, so only needed one of the chimney sections – had to attach the top with double sided 3M tape to attach to wall – my mistake for not looking at the dimensions. Looks good though.
Even at the lowest setting this is a noisy device.
Glass cover sticks out further than I would like making it easy to bang your head on it – again should have looked at the dimensions.
My electrician was surprised by how powerful the suction is on this hood. That says it all. A big improvement in terms of quieter operation compared to my old hood. The curved glass looks nice and sleek. Very happy with this purchase having had it for 20 months.
So as with the last model the instructions are vague let me give some points where the instructions are poor on the intermediate support bar holding the bottom s/s cowl in place with the extraction pipe coupled you cannot fit this bar without having a small chubby screwdriver the screws are fixed from the back and very little room is available to get to this bracket which then has to be secured to the wall.
Some other points need a slight redesign the this would be a winner, The plate that the assembly hangs on with the assembly metalwork needs a larger gauge still the assembly drops down very slightly because the metalwork bends. The bottom s/s cover support bracket needs a securing screws countersunk so the cover is not held off the wall by pan head screws. Like many other installers have said the top cover securing plate support needs lowering down the wall so the fixing screws can be screwed in if you have a coving around a kitchen ceiling a lowing of this top plate is a must, motor grunts slightly due to the balance of the motor. Apart from observations this extractor suits my needs purchasers need to be sure they can overcome these issues. I would still recommend this model
lovely design and powerful reasonably quiet suction able to get rid of smells during cooking.
The instructions are beyond awful. They are almost a comic masterpiece in their own right and worth preserving as an example of how not to help your customers assemble your product. Helpfully (!) there is a link to a YouTube demonstration. Once I got over the fact that the narrator sounds distractingly like Kermit from the Muppets, this did help but only if you don’t want to attach the chimney flush with the ceiling. The demo shows the person leaning into the top of the assembly to attach it to the wall — equivalent to me leaning down through the upstairs floorboards, through the ceiling with my screwdriver and attaching the inner chimney to the supplied bracket. Someone without a range of DIY skills would struggle with trying to assemble this item.
Once working it is extremely loud (strangely, it is advertised as “quiet” but I guess this is a relative term). Certainly, my wife and I have to shout to each other to have a conversation in the kitchen if the fan is on full powe
Very powerful, hence louder than other hoods. Looks good but have to be cairfull to get the chimney straight. Oh u have to have a socket installed near by cann not directly wire in to the device. Overall very pleased
Smart looking, solid. The down side is the fan is noisy.
he CIARRA CBCS6506B Class A Cooker Hood 60cm 650 m/h Curved Glass Chimney Hood is excellent value for money. Installation by myself went well but I have to agree with a lot of other reviews about fitting the chimney sections under a standard ceiling height. My hob to ceiling distance was 135cm. The extractor plus lower chimney section is 52cm. recommended height above cooking plane is 65-75cm. Being tall I preferred the higher limit which leaves only about 5cm to reach through to connect the power and vent to the hood. because the lower chimney bracket has to be fitted to the chimney first, fixing it to the wall is nearly impossible. Added hazard of very sharp edges to make it harder. Well, it’s on the wall now and we love it.
The 6 ” outlet pipe can cause problems as the majority of Tradesmen don’t have a diamond cutter large enough. Usually carry 110mm core cutter for 4″ termination vents etc. Many won’t buy one just for the one job as they will probably not need it again. A part from this issue to overcome the extractor hod is great looking and good in performance. The down lights are bright and illuminate the area well. Reasonably quiet in operation. Has solved my problem of kitchen windows and door steaming up. Very good looking product with excellent performance.
A really nice cooker hood which we replaced an existing hood with. The main problem I found was assembling the trunking however I have never found any hood which does this well. The middle bit does not join well to the top bit.
If you have a low ceiling, you will struggle to fit both parts of the shroud as you have to put them inside each other then pull the inner up to the ceiling and screw it to the wall bracket. I had about 2cm clearance from the top of the inner shroud to the ceiling, so there would have been no way at all to lift it up once fitted so just used the inner shroud and left the gap at the top.
Included instructions are beyond useless. Ciarra have an excellent YouTube video which is well worth watching, although they do install it about half way up a blank wall which isn’t really representative of people’s homes!
For the 90 i paid though, I’m very happy with the end result.
A bit of a fiddley job to do , ignore the instructions . Take 5 mins and have a look at how it all goes together and work out a plan of attack.
A couple of tips:, draw a vertical up the wall to line everything up. To assemble the upper cover has to be inside the lower which makes moving up a bit difficult. I used a strong tape to hold it in position at the top ,fix the lower one in place and lift the top one out and up and screw in position use a second screwdriver through the grill to hold up.
The instructions on the video are excellent and simple to follow, the only part that was awkward was the fitting of the chimney top part since my ceiling is quite low and had only 100mm clearance to fit hose and screw bracket to wall . Would be ok if your ceiling was higher .
Fairly quiet even on max power, the lights are bright to cook with. Effective extraction to the outside. Only slight problem is I had to alter my existing 4″ position through the brickwork and the unit comes in 5″ diameter but no big deal.Very pleased overall.
It does the job for the money paid! My kitchen now looks complete! It has a nice look, the glass is really thick, however the chimney covering the duct is very thin and be careful for cuts!
Looks great!
For installation, it took some trial and error to get the right height. Bit of advice, if you’re coring out a hole for the ducting, put it high close to the ceiling, maybe 6 inches below. Then put a power outlet under this.
Will make like a bit easier!
It looks good, the LED lights are bright and it runs smoothly and reasonably quietly.
Cons:
The instructions! Fitting the hood itself was easy and straight forward enough but the part in the instructions for fitting the base section of the chimney do not in any way relate to what’s actually supplied.
The power lead! Is supplied as two pieces, a hard wired 2′ fly lead with a C14 (inverted kettle plug) plug on the end, and another 2′ C13 (kettle plug), totalling 4′. Fused at 13A when the total load doesn’t exceed 3A. It should either be a C14 socket fitted to the unit, or have a lead at least 6′ long to avoid any plug/socket arrangements behind kitchen units.
After I had the unit for a few months one of the lamps blew and I was unable to source a suitable replacement. I contacted the manufacturer who responded very quickly dispatching a couple of replacements from China which were delivered by DHL within six days.
Nice hood instructions were a tad wrong, however strong extraction and not to load, the LED lights are bright, nice.,… I would recommend buying the CIARRA stainless steel splash back to finish it off…
