Lovely bit of kit.
Premium built – loads of cable mgmt space at the back and overall just a good bit of kit.
Large enough to host a 360 Rad and 10 fans if you so wish as well as a beefy 4080 as well..
Easy to build in but they do have a few cable mgmt niggles and challenges if you hammer the RGB fans like I did
Usual good stuff from Corsair
5000d is a flagship case for a reason.
Love i
This case is also well made that it would be the last case you will ever need, I’m the amount of space ayounhave for all your part and the amount of areas toy can mount fans helps to keep your PC cool I’ve the max number of fans for my PC and it has help with case size air vent and fans as the weather has kept getting warm and caused my PC to over heat in the best doesn’t even get remotely hot now
Overall:
It’s a great case for anyone, it is large so make sure you measure your availabile space before ordering. Plenty of space on the inside for large GPUs and I’d imagine a custom loop. I’d argue it’s good for first timers to use as of the amount of space.
CPU & GPU in use for reference: R7 5800X & RTX 3070
Do I recommend? Yes
Positives:
Basement has lots of space for cables (especially if your not using HDDs).
Plenty of spaces for fans and water coolers.
3 2.5Inch slots on the back of mobo mounting area.
Front IO features audio, 2 USB A and 1 C, reset and power buttons.
Front, back and top dust filters.
PSU dust filter.
Plenty of room for large GPUs.
Cable management straps included.
Airflow is good, everything inside stays below 65C.
Negatives:
Top filter feels a bit too restrictive of airflow.
Cable management is a bit annoying for going up the case, could be thicker.
Could of sent some rubber covers for front IO not in use to stop dust.
I have planted my new components in this bad boy, and there is still plenty of room.
360mm AIO, 3080TI and half of a hobbit can fit into this case. Cable ways are nice and tidy and you have a good amount of airflow in it, so you can tame the hotter running components.
This product was ideal for fitting one of the new oversized Nvidia GPU card coolers. I went with a Corsair fan build however ended up purchasing a further 3 fans for the case only because the white panel included in the case was flush against my GPU so I removed it as this would have reduced air flow around it’s cooler.
Overall I am very happy with the space inside this case but knocked a star off my review due to the cooler issue which I imagine would effect all 3 fan cooled GPUs.
Coming from a Lian Li o11 Dynamic this case for me had a lot to live up to. But unlike the o11 this case housed the absolutely massive 4090 like a champ.
The 5000d has plenty of space, amazing cable management at the rear side of the case. Includes even more velcro straps if needed. The side fans mount onto a radiator type bracket, making it super easy to install the fans and not have to cram your hands into small areas. Airflow is honestly better than my previous case as well.
The case it self is dead silent even when kitted out with 10 fans. The Included fan hub is also a nice extra touch if needed.
Overall the case was a joy to build in. Totally worth recommending!
Great case, really like the form factor and functionality. However, if you want to put a 360 front at top, it’s a bit awkward and tight. 360 up too can be really tight with 12V CPU cables up at the top of your board if you’ve got fans on the inside.
Case looks nice , but not easy to work in,if you are upgrading from a hdd system to a ssd , then be aware , it says it take 2 hdd but there is 0% room to even get it it with the sata/psu cables in, I had to connect them outside of the case to transfer everything over, tbf I wish I went with the 7000d
Good case with good space and mounting options like vertical GPU mounting, extra fans etc
Very easy to build in and looks super clean.
Best choice I’ve made for a case
Good case for the money, looks good, surprisingly spacious, although if you have a 360mm aio check the depth of it as I have a 360mm Arctic liquid freezer 2 and it was an ABSOLUTE PAIN IN THE FEMALE GENITALS to fit. It is seemingly the deepest aio ever invented, and doesn’t fit at the top or the front of the case. Handily there is a removable back radiator panel and it JUST fit in there, although I had to go a bit blue Peter with the dremel, and now there is no room next to the power supply to fit any hard drives. Other than that, really good case
Top class airflow good room inside specially for first build ,Tip mount the power supply after removing the hardisk rack to get enough space for wiring
Definitely high premium airflow case, has everything you need, have over 8 fans and its quiet and chilly, this case does the job
A very well deserved upgrade from a 4000D. The extra space over the top of the motherboard, allowing for easier access to the CPU cables, is greatly appreciated.
If you’re considering a 4000D, 5000D, or 7000D;
4000D is fantastic if you plan to build the PC, and just leave it as it is. The smaller size (in theory) allows for tighter control of the airflow.
5000D is amazing if you plan on performing a lot of maintenance. If you plan on using ANY 3.5 Hard Drive, you cannot use the secondary moulding, due to the hard drive bay not moving to the side enough.
7000D is probably better suited to watercooling, because when you have the 4000D and 5000D serving it’s purpose so well, you don’t really need something as huge as a 7000D
Upgraded from a Phanteks P400a, which is another great airflow case. had to swap as the P400a didn’t really support AIO rads. I only have 2 gripes with this case, so i’ll get these out the way. Firstly, removing the glass panel felt like a leap of faith and could see a lot of people accidently breaking the glass on removal, it feels as though you have to apply a lot of pressure to pop the securing mechanism . Once removed, however you can see that the left side of the glass has a metal strip running down it which takes most of the pressure when pulling the glass away from the case. Secondly, because the case has 3 side fans there is not a huge amount of room left next to the power supply and because I’m using 2 commanders and a lightning node it leaves little room. I was unable to get the back door on, however I could get the back cover on, so still looks great. I will eventually go back in there and re-cable everything optimally.
So that’s the bad stuff out the way, the rest is all good. This case looks amazing, I have used corsair QL120s 3 on the front 3 on the side (intake) and 1 exhaust at the back. Because the QL120’s have an RGB ring visible from both sides they look amazing, regardless of which way round they are. I have used a corsair H150i elite AIO for the top of the case, with ML fans which came with the AIO and the pump cables when coming down from the front of the case to the pump, sit in a perfect position for the pump to work well. The tinted glass looks stunning and although you won’t see much in your case when switched off, when all RGB on it looks excellent. I have taken 1 star off for the glass thing but as for the lack of space you could always keep on the PSU shroud that is already fitted and create more space. It just means that you will be blocking the bottom side fan.
I haven’t really tested the thermals but what I can say is that when I check the exhaust the heat lvls seem really low. All in all I recommend this case to anyone that has to have an AIO, or wants to take the plunge into open loop systems, or even use a chunky air cooling system, as it supports solutions up to 170mm deep. You could even buy it as a case to grow into because it really is amazingly versatile and for the price it is great value, especially compared to it’s older brother, the 7000D, which I am glad I didn’t buy, this case is plenty heavy with all components inside and the 7000D is even heavier and bulkier, as it’s a full tower.
This is hands down the best case I’ve worked with, the covers and magnetic filters are brilliant for removing and cleaning. Though my only issue is the cable management holes
This case is excellent.
It has a very roomy interior with intelligent mounting and cable management. Plus you can customise the interior a bit to cater to your needs. Want more fans? Take this piece out and you can fit 3 more in. Want to mount your ssds up front, done. Want the clean minimalist look, done.
It’s by far the easiest case if built in, the airflow is excellent, it looks great, has plenty of I/O built in…honestly, for the price (130 at time of writing), it’s a bargain.
Honestly this case is my favourite looking one, it’s affordable, easy to put parts in and looks clean as heck
Love this case. Really easy to build in. Lots of space inside and still looks reasonable outside. Love the back panel internal door and the removable side fan shroud. Plenty of fan space and ample room to setup a push pull radiator on the roof. Not going to run out of airflow.
I do worry slightly that the top is very open. With fans mounted you can see right into the case around the fans, shouldn’t be an issue I guess.
Nice case, you won’t be disappointed.
Amazing, it’s dust filters show a decent amount caught nearly every week, the airflow is very soilid. Very happy with this however the only downside for me was of how chunky this badboy is!
I just used this case in my first ever pc build and it was very easy to build in.
The case itself is huge and has room for a 360mm aio on the front, side or top.
I had no trouble at all taking it apart to start the build and was easily able to route all cables around the case and tidy them up using the cable channels and velcro straps provided.
I needed a bigger case for a 360mm radiator and fits the purpose. Did read a few reviews about the glass shattering so I have kept the plastic on (so can’t really comment on that).
Great for cable management, great for airflow.
Out of the Box this case met all my expectations, good quality material and finishing’s. Packaged superbly well and also arrived sooner than expected (always a bonus). Upon building my Pc i started to realise what a great choice id made as everything fitted together so well, was a joy to see. This is a mid size tower? in my eye its BIGGER than your standard mid towers, mind you the lower priced towers always turn out to be smaller Cpu/Gpu ovens. This Case is very spacious, Very! Cable management is also perfect.
The Air flow is amazing…its dropped my Gpu temperature by a whopping 18 degree’s whilst playing Vanguard(max specs and load). My pervious case was a mid tower oven, so glad i switched.
The only Reasons for 4 stars are minor really so don’t be put off. What i noticed on the front panel has no red light to indicate when the hard drives are loading, nothing in the wiring either, also sadly the motherboard standoff screws didn’t fit. bit weird (had some spare to hand thankfully).
The most annoying thing i found was the Case’s Vertical Gpu mount. I purchased the separate corsair PCI express lead for this of course. When you mount your Gpu vertically it works and looks great, but its very close to the glass side panel and restricts airflow to the Gpu fans. This heated up things a lot, enough for me to not even consider that option anymore and return the lead, shame.
Other than that I’m very happy with this case, my new AIO fitted wonderfully with so many options on your build this one will keep you going for some time. Happy Pc building, hope the review helps 🙂
I love the built in Velcro cable ties that made it extremely easy to cable manage and the tempered glass front panel provides an excellent view of the rgb. Provides excellent ventilation and great accommodation for my top mounted aio. The removable filters on the top, front and power supply intake make it incredibly easy to clean. One thing I will say is don’t do what I did and make sure to double check how big this case actually is.whoops
I had a H510 Case and it was a literal oven for my components. This keeps the case cool really easily & is proper good quality build.
Side panels are easy to remove although it would be nice to have the option of just opening them like a door as some other cases in this price region has that.
Looks really good & thermals are fantastic.
Highly recommend
It’s a great case for cable management, will easily hold a long gpu was a bit finicky to work out how some of the pannles come off without looking at a manual (I always try and avoid using it) easily get 10x 120mm fans in the case but make sure the border of the fans isn’t too think otherwise it’ll be a squeeze. The finish of the case is great, love the modularity of it defo add this to your basket / wishlist orrrr if you have a bigger budget get the 7000D if you have space
Very good case for airflow plenty of room to install everything inside
Only problem i found was to use the side mounted fans the panel is fiddle to remove as you have two thumb screws and three phillips screws hind under velcro straps. And if you have a large PSU and fans on the side you cant use the HDD cage but other than that its a good case
Wanted to move my rig out of my other busted and mangled case, and this really was a great case to choose. There’s so much space! I really like how the shrouds can be fitted or removed piece by piece, and the movable hard drive bay was such a good inclusion, especially by fitting them with large side panel screws. The meshes are good quality, the doors and panels hold well and I can’t honestly find much that I don’t like about it.
Maybe the glass tint is a bit heavy for some but I’m a fan of dark builds so I like it a lot.
One slight note to whoever might be looking is that the large metal shroud which covers the 24pin and whatever else you might wanna route through there is quite tight, and because of where the 24 pin slot is on my motherboard, I had to purchase a 90 degree adaptor. Not the worst thing ever but worth mentioning. The shroud is completely removable but if you want to keep it on like myself you might want to check how your motherboard would sit in this case, especially the location of the 24pin slot.
This case is excellent for airflow no question there – I have a 9700k and 3090 in there and along with my fans and Noctua cooler nothing gets above 70 in gaming. Building in this is relatively easy, HOWEVER – the drive cage in the bottom along with PSU makes it very difficult to fit (with cables) and the cage you need a tiny hand to then secure the harddrive cage to the “floor” of the case. I dont have tiny hands so mine is loose, this also means that you can’t use the scoop attachment for the front lower portion of the case because you are having to bring the cage as far forward as possible. Cable management is easy other than that and build quality along with attention to detail is brilliant, would recommend. Wish corsair would find a better solution for the basement and HDD cage however. 2.5 inches drives fit in the back like most other cases with no issues
The build quality of this case is fantastic, lots of space inside, air flow is great, multiple radiator mounting options (although the top mount is def the most optimal for airflow), reasonably clear instructions (YouTube is also helpful), ALL the screws you need (with spares) and most importantly the tempered glass side panel is very securely attached with captive thumbscrews and a hinge to stop gravity ruining your panel.
The only downside is the height can require extensions for SATA power in particular so it can stretch from the hard drive connections at the bottom to the fan hub near the top of the case and the case does scratch if you aren’t careful (I scratched mine a little putting in my AIO) but the good news is you can hide scratches using a black sharpie, just put a little line over it and rub it in with your finger!
I have built 4 computers so far, all in different cases and this for me is my most favourite.
First thing, it looks nice the white and grey just goes really well and with so many nice little touches. Like the grey painted PCI slot cover wich also have the same triangler pattern on them like the rest of the case.
Secondly the case gives a lot of freedom to customise the case. Like the swapable PSU shroud/cover, so you can make pace for an AIO cooler or more space for hard drives. Not to mention about the option to install a vertical GPU mount, although it is a bit tight towards the glass so it will impact airflow to the card.
Thirdly it is so easy to clean the fan filters. you can get to either one in about half a minute, just so effortless to clean.
Lastly Airflow is really good and my parts are always kept cool. Especially when you can mount 10 fans into this case if you wanted to. Also you got enough space to probably mount two AIO’s.
Its bigger than I thought it would be but there’s loads of space to build in. It was so simple it holds up to 10 fans, the longest of gpus was no problem at all. You want rgb? It can hold it all. The cable management? Don’t worry about it, just close the door on the back and never have to see or worry about it again. It’s a great case keeps all vital components cool which is what you need with the sky high prices paid for components these days
The case was unexpectedly large, mainly due to me only looking at the picture and not the measurements. Anyway, the case is awesome. I bought all good hardware and got a poor quality small case to begin with. Later I realised that the case must be the reason for my high temps due to a lack of room within the casnfor airflow. This beast has loads of room. So much so, I have to put it on the floor underneath my desk. In the case I found a surprise……it has built in, a pwm fan hub that supports up to six fans. Previously I had two three way splitters to have 6 fans. Now I have 8 fans which is way more than I need.
The build quality is excellent. This is what you expect from Corsair and this doesn’t disappoint.
The fan filters are easy to get to on the top and front of the case for when you need to vacuum them. I do it once and week and there is a significant build up of dust, mainly due to the great fan pull on the front intake fans.
Don’t hesitate just buy. There are so many ways to build with this case with very little restrictions. Make it your own. I love mine.
This is an amazing case for a build. It contains many well thought out features with a movable hard drive bay, space for radiators and fans. The case is big enough to fit a full custom water cooled loop inside comfortably. It comes with dust filters to keep a lot of dust out of the system. On the top of the case you are able to mount fans on the outer side of the mounts and still have room for the top cover to fit on. Overall a 10/10 case that I would highly recommend.
As the title states, the quality is amazing. Definite upgrade over my last case, along with the added benefit of additional fan space.
The way the case comes apart is both genius, but also luxurious. The metal they use is durable, nicely painted, and has quick disconnects for easy tear down and build. The filters are all high quality and in great locations as well. Even the price was great!
The only issue I could potentially point out is the lack of included fans. For a case that’s nearly $180, there should be more than two very basic fans. But in all honesty, most builders have their own fans anyways, and this would not be a factor for most people including me.
If you’re interested in this case, grab it. You won’t be disappointed
Great case, Lots of room for all components. my only issue is with the listing itself. It said ‘in stock’, you would expect that you would get the item dispatched straight away and receive it quickly. There must be some new meaning to ‘in stock’ because it was clearly not. no delivery date was given for more than a week. got the case after 3 weeks from ordering it. Apart from that, its a great case. Cable management is easy and lots of options for extra fans, rads and graphics card sizes. Would highly recomend. Just dont expect to get this case fast 😉
Old case was more of an oven than a case, it did the job, but this fully loaded with fans it’s a lot quieter though there is more fans the CPU is running 20-30C Cooler and the fans are just in a Pull configuration (might add the 3 to add the push – but doesn’t seem worth it for a 3600X), even the 3060 Ti is running cooler and fans are not running all the time.
Highly recommend this case, the Heat Wave kept the temps the same so cannot fault it.
Panel are either magnetic or push clips which makes it so easy to take apart and start getting to work, there’s tint yellow indicators on everything you can pull to remove, it’s user friendly for custom builds as its very spacious, completely redesignable interior for fan arrangement and drive configuration it comes with enough corsair velcro cable ties to last you about 100 years and it gives a really big clear to easily fit a 360 aio at the top.
The air filters attach magnetically and as they are magnetic increases the amount of hair they catch so great for pet owners, easily cleanable too as so easy to remove and put back.
Cable management is easy
Case materials are really good
Case gets a 7/5 if I could rate it that
Designed for airflow but doesn’t skimp anywhere else and it’s a mid price range case you’ll struggle to find any case as good quality for close to its price.
Firstly I like the case. I have a 750D which was a little bigger but not by much. It looks great and the airflow Seema high. I put noctua fans in for a total of 7 fans with the space for 3 more should I choose. I went with a top mounted 360 AIO from Corsair. The big issue I found was when running the CPU power cables to the top of the motherboard the AIO with fans impeded the path. In the end I had to squish the cable a little to get it to fit which is not ideal. I also have 2 3.5″ HDD which are located next to the power supply and the space is very tight again a little force got everything in. Maybe some custom cables would help with the cables being made flat but I went with what I had. 0.5 cm taller around the AIO and 3cm more space for the PSU and HDD bay and case would be pretty perfect. On the flip side the visual part of the case look neat and tidy
