This mouse is amazing for big handed people like my self my hand is huge but you need to be careful with the scroll wheel as that is the main problem here but as someone who used to be an corsair, Logitech fan boy it no longer needs to suit my needs for little applications for my performance so I have been moving all my gear over to SteelSeries as my audio is with them, mouse mat it’s just shame the mouse scroll wheel was not strong enough over the duration of 7 month’s as it was my number one mouse for size, functions the sniper button has a separate DPI scale, you can adjust your DPI on the fly with 2 custom buttons on the side for macros that be came keybinds or custom macros in the software
I bought this to replace an M 65 mouse I was already using. Unfortunately my current mouse had a failed microswitch on the r h button. I had gamed with this mouse for years, so replacing it with the same was a no brainer. The mouse has adjustable dpi upto 1000, rgb lighting, a comfortable shape and reprogrammable buttons using the iCue software from Corsair.
I bought this mouse as i have quite big hands and the mouse i was previously using was uncomfortable.
This one is a good size and comfy to use. The fact that it comes with weights so you can really adjust the weight of it to suit your needs is awesome.
It also has customizable tilt gestures which i am yet to try, it can be used with the wireless dongle (included), bluetooth or wired which is also a big plus!!.
I play mostly FPS games and this mouse has not let me down.
Premium price tag but to me its worth it !!
My experience with this mouse has been great for the 3 years I have had it. I bought this mouse back in 2019 when I got my first PC and I have loved it ever since.
The mouse is a great fit in my hand and has easy access to all buttons on the mouse.
It is light weight and I have hardly noticed that it is wired.
A good range of DPI settings with further customization within Corsair’s ICUE software. The LED light colours are also changeable within ICUE.
Having the addiontal buttons on the side are very useful for gaming and setting up keybinds while using other programs.
I haven’t personally found much use in the “sniper button” on the side while gaming but again you can set this as a action within ICUE to ethier open up an application or browser/specific webpage for example.
My mouse has recently been damaged and the right no longer functions properly, but due to how this mouse has performed over the 3 years I am definitely looking at ordering again.
I bought this mouse to replace the previous model that I bought 12 years ago, that is still functional albeit the mouse wheel button had stopped working.
The design is slightly improved in that the side “sniper” button that slows down the rate of movement is now within reach of your thumb whether you favour either the claw or palm grip on a mouse, whereas the previous model was designed for the palm grip.
I don’t use that button to be honest, but I effectively bought the same mouse again because it has a metal frame that gives it a nice weight, as opposed to the fully plastic alternatives that feel flimsy in comparison.
The new model also has pulsating LED lights on the mouse wheel side, the top DPS sensitivity button and the Corsair logo on the top which is a nice touch.
Is not working on color pads. Get a black one.
Brilliant mouse! I bought following a streamer recommending it. Very good value compared to other gaming brands.
I use it to try and keep up with my son on fortnite (every little helps!) the buttons can be programed using iCue software – as can scanning resolution (and RGB if that matters to you!)
There are 8 buttons in easy to click places, including a sniper button that drops the resolution to help when looking down sights.
I am not a very big gamer in general. I purchased this when building a high performance PC. Although I do play some games casually I do not tend to use keyboard and mouse and instead use a controller.
I use my PC for a range of activities and chose this mouse to go with my K68 keyboard. This was not only so that they match but also because I enjoy the customisation offrered by the Corsair software.
All of the buttons can be programmed and quite easily so. Similarly, the lighting can also be customised and this can all be assigned to specific programs and switch automatically when opening them. This for me is a huge bonus, more so for the keyboard macros, but the functionality is great for me.
It is very ergonomic. It is a pleasure to use, so much so that I purchased another for work. The “sniper” button is particularly useful for me when using it for graphics, too.
I’m not a fan of things that look super “gamery” – just personal preference. Although it is slightly on the border, it is fairly understated and if the lighting is all matching it fits in fairly well.
It really feels great to use, I could not go back to my old mouse. the only real downside is the software.. if you are looking for something for “hardcore gaming” avoid this, if you are like me and want something comfortable and easy to use and set up, look not further.
what are the software problems?
#1 sometimes when you press down on the mouse it will think you are holding it down (I have checked multiple times if the mouse it’s self has become stuck and it’s with out question the software)
#2 if you are using razor cortex (cortex is for disabling apps on your computer to free up ram, more ram = more fps) at the end of your gaming session with the boys/gals/thems, it will sometimes turn off your RGB lights on the keyboard and mouse (I have both corsair mouse and keyboard) you will have to re-enable SKD (a script for the program to run RGB) as it will turn off SKD.
#3 software is held together by hopes and dreams.
I found this mouse to be really comfortable and great to use not just for gaming but also just for working. I’m a frequent player of games and found use in it in MMOs, RTSes, and FPSes, so the mouse pretty much covers all the bases for those. The focus button on the side is great for increasing precision, though the mouse itself is very precise and accurate to movements.
The reason I’m only giving it four stars instead of five is because of two things: The software is a little finicky. I’ve always had trouble with Corsair’s iCUE software, however that might just be a me-thing. The mouse works perfectly without the software however, so don’t worry too much about that – the entire time I used it was without the iCUE software.
The second reason is because I discovered that the middle mouse button is not as durable as the other buttons. The scrolling itself works great and provides good feedback and scroll-precision without the looseness I’ve felt in other wheels. The middle mouse button itself, however, had worn down to the point where it no longer worked after five months of usage – bear in mind, this was daily usage of roughly fifteen hours, so experiences may vary. After a touch of research, apparently the middle mouse button switches (the thing that picks up your press) isn’t as durable as the rest of the buttons on the mouse. It meant that I needed to purchase a new mouse due to my need to use the middle mouse button. Overall, the rest of the mouse is great, though – Corsair generally provides good products.
Left click stops clicking every time after 3 – 5 months. I’ve had two of these in case I was unlucky the first time but I have since learned that the button switches can become faulty after a couple months or more. Not Corsair’s fault, this is due to the OMRON switches that foul up on the electrical contact which causes the issues that everyone is talking about.
NOTE that all gaming mice use these switches: This is not only Corsair but all companies! These Mice are great otherwise.
I have replaced my left click switch. Very easy job to do on these mice IF you can use a soldering iron.
For replacement switches, search Amazon for:
D2FC-F-7N micro switches for Mouse
Youtube has videos on this.
My son has one of these and does a lot of gaming. When I first touched it I loved the weight and feel. I have previously used numerous fairly expensive Logitech mice, mostly wireless. When my latest wireless Logitech mouse started playing up (connection issues) I decided it was time for a new brand and going back to wired, so I bought this one – especially since it was on sale at Amazon.
I’m pleased with it. Not over the moon. Pleased. Very pleased that since many previous reviews and questions, the developers had produced Mac version of their software so Mac users get the same features as Windows users.
It is so perfectly weighted and their is almost zero drag of the wire – you hardly notice there’s a wire attached. However, I have 2 gripes with it.
1. Slight noise of the scroll wheel. Mostly there is the expected low pitch tone of the steps of the scroll wheel (which sounds very ‘high quality’ rather than the tinny rattle of cheaper mice) but now and then there is a ‘rattle’ sound when using the scroll wheel. Slightly annoying.
2. The very prominent texture of the sides. For many this is just fine and dandy but some people struggle with textures (I’m one of them odd people). It’s a very rough texture which for anyone with a ‘texture sensitivity’ it can be unpleasant. I have put a couple of bits of black electrical (smooth) tape over the areas my fingers and thumbs are mostly in contact with to smooth those areas.
Overall I am pleased with it and it is a big step up in quality over many expensive Logitech mice and despite the niggles I won’t be sending it back!
I didn’t like it at first but after using it a few months it’s pretty great. I took all the weights out and it’s about right for me now. With a racer mat it’s a really nice setup. The sniper. Upton was a gimmick I thought but it’s proven useful. I also like being able to switch between dpi settings with the top buttons on the fly. I use kind of a claw grip and I like that I can rotate through 360 degrees with out having to move my whole arm as you can see from the photo I don’t have much space on my desk. I found the side buttons small at first but I don’t even think about it anymore. This is a really good mouse.
I initially began PC gaming with a Corsair M65 RGB PRO. It was a nice little mouse, however they had issues. Nothing glaring, every~1000 clicks the left mouse button would get stuck down and require an extra press to unstick. The scroll wheel was a little dodgy but it was a good mouse. This thing? The M65 Elite? A perfect upgrade. I’ve been using the thing for nearly two months now and I wouldn’t go back. Neither of the issues with the predecessor have surface here. This mouse looks sleeker, feels a little better to use and via Corsairs iCUE software it has the ability to go up and down in DPI steps of 1 instead of steps of 100 like the PRO. Is it a major upgrade? No. Is it a worthwhile upgrade? Yes.
If you have particularly short hands this mouse may be a little bit of a struggle to use. My partner hates it with her small hands. But for me with fairly big hands it’s perfect. It fits really really well and no matter the grip (be it claw, palm etc) it effortlessly gets the job done.
Along the sides the material used is different to the material used on the top of the mouse. I found it a little annoying at first as it is a little bit of a jarring texture however I believe this could be to help with gripping the mouse. After a few days-one week of using the mouse however I no longer noticed the difference in textures.
In actual games it performs great. I combined it with a “HyperX HX-MPFS-S-XL FURY S Speed Edition Pro” mouse pad and it really does do one hell of a job. I play Overwatch primarily and tracking as well as flicking are an absolute breeze.
All In all for the price it’s a really solid piece of kit. Is it the best gaming mouse out there? Probably not. Is it the worst? Far from it. I’d recommend this mouse to anybody looking to get a pretty mouse without compromising on performance.
Had the original M65 mouse for around 4 years (white version) which was so comfy and a really great mouse. I changed my PC setup and fancied an upgrade but when i saw the Elite version on sale to 35 i had to have it.
absolute steal for the price. Thanks Amazon.
The mouse is an improvement in every way from the original (can’t speak about the pro). It is comfier to use, the sniper button is a better place and the ergonomics of the mouse are much improved and i find it comfier (this is down to personal preference) The RGB lighting is improved. overall i am extremely satisfied with it and currently putting it through it’s paces on Quake Champions, Ion Fury and PUBG.
I’ve also had a few games on Heroes of the Storm and Age of Empires II Definitive Edition and the mouse is accurate, well built and comfy to use. If your on the fence just buy it!
I don’t know where the negative reviews come from where they say it clicks on it’s own and its broken… honestly what do you do with your mouse to cause this? i have NEVER broken one. I’m not saying every single one is perfect as at the end of the day the item is a electronic item and some will fail. Get it.
In the past, I was using a Razer Imperator mouse, which was pretty good and I can’t complain about it however it died some months ago.
In the meantime, I was using a Lenovo wireless mouse until I decided to buy this one I can’t believe how good it is.
The build quality is outstanding, with solid aluminum in the back and sides. In the beginning, it feels weird since the texture is very pronounced, but after 5 minutes using it, I noticed it helps a lot to improve the grip, so I like it as well.
RGB light is a bonus since I’m not so fan of having lights on everything, but the illumination on it has a good balance and I found it beautiful. To be honest I’m considering buying a new one to use in the office.
it is worth the money, the sensor is amazing, very sensitive and precise. Click switches are very clicky and have a pleasant feeling.
Final this is the sniper button on the thumb, which makes playing FPS much easier, but is also useful for work, for example, when you need those fine adjustments on power point.
In summary, I’m really glad about the product and even trying to find any defects I simply can’t so I really recommend it.
I should just state its downside for those looking for em.
1. No spin-wheel/adjustable wheel, a severe downside that makes this really an only-for-gaming mouse
2. The two macros buttons are too subtle, not tactile and protrusive enough….i.e. relatively hard and unpleasant to press
3, Size. Think the consensus now is that G502 is the best all-round non-wireless mouse, but as a user of the old G500, I just find it unacceptably small and thin, and it fits neither of my grip styles. The M65 is much better than that, although if you have a big hand this might not be for you unless you’re a claw grip person.
4. Programme: There is no doubt the Corsair Utility Engine has insane customizability, but I must say it is slightly less user-friendly than the Logitech and Razer one.
5. Front Zone lighting is almost unnoticeable when using from the normal position, so insignificant you won’t even realize in the dark, unless staring from above the mouse…which is never
* I bought this mouse at the discounted price of 39
Having used this mouse now for nearly 6 months I feel that I can now write a proper review.
Build Quality: The mouse is solid to hold, without being too heavy. The removable weights in the base are great for tweaking the feel of the mouse to suit your requirements. The braided cables is long enough to reach my PC that is under the desk on the other side. It is however one of the smaller mouses on the market, which may be something to consider if your hands are on the larger side.
Lighting: The RGB lights are bright and clear. With plenty of options customise the colours to match anything. The software is however required to control the lights, and there is no ability to store the configurations to the mouse. So if you move to another PC all your settings are lost.
Performance: I am a heavy PC gamer, mainly playing CSGO. I have had no issues with this mouse such as misclicks or tracking problems. The precision button of the thumb side is a nice addition, however it requires a fair amount of pressure to click, which causes the mouse to jerk slightly.
Software: Corsair Utility Engine is a solid piece of software. It is relatively light on system resources, and it is easy to use and navigate. This makes setting up the mouse a breeze, and the option to switch between profiles with a click of the mouse makes life easier. Having previously used the Madcatz RATZ software, and the Roccat one, CUE is by far my favourite.
I would recommend this product to anyone, whether they are looking for a gaming mouse, or just for a mouse they need to use for extended periods of time.
This is a beast of a mouse.
Pros:
-Great ergonomics which fits larger hands perfectly, and a nice meaty feel with adjustable weights. The base weight might be too heavy for some, but it’s perfect with 1 of 3 weights in for me.
-Rock solid build quality, as is a corsair standard. Not a hint of cheapness to this mouse!
-Great value, delivering close to top end performance for half the price.
-Software allows for lots of customization.
-Unlike the M65 (non-pro edition) it has the sails logo and not the tramp stamp. Also has greater DPI.
Cons:
-The sniper button is dedicated, meaning you can’t remap it to another function in games or programs. There may be a way around this, but I haven’t taken the time to look into it. Also it’s a bit garish (being a big red button) but you won’t see it.
-The top of the sail logo is not fully illuminated the same as the rest of it and so there’s some color gradiation there from your chosen color to a slightly different shade. For example I have the light set to a light blue, but the top of the sail logo is on the purplish side, and noticeably so. I don’t much mind as I find it visually interesting, but it’s still not as it should be.
Overall though, great buy and super happy with it.
