Micron X Crucial — quality and tested reliability you can trust

As the vertically integrated consumer brand of Micron, Crucial is trusted by millions for reliability, performance, and compatibility. Unlike module assemblers, our unique relationship with Micron involves a deeper level of engineering that delivers powerful performance you can trust. When it comes to memory, don’t settle for less.

  1. DDR5 architecture includes efficiency improvements that deliver 36% more system bandwidth than DDR4, even at the same theoretical speeds of 3200MHz, due to the high bus efficiency of DDR5 technology. Combined with lower voltage per module, this design provides superior (better) performance.
  2. Under memory-intensive workloads, DDR5 can deliver up to 2x the bandwidth, per an internal simulation of dual ranked x8 modules in client platforms.
  3. Only with a DDR5-enabled CPU and motherboard. DDR5 desktop memory is not compatible with DDR4 motherboards.
  4. DDR5 launch speeds of 4800MHz are comparable to extreme-performance DDR4 memory speeds and are 1.5x faster than maximum standard DDR4 speeds of 3200MHz.
  5. Crucial DDR5 desktop memory modules (UDIMM) can reach rated speeds with Intel XMP 3.0 or AMD EXPO turned on in the UEFI/BIOS settings. Applicable for all Crucial DDR5 desktop memory (UDIMM) modules except Crucial DDR5-4800 desktop memory, which supports only Intel XMP 3.0. Based on published competitor specs for DDR5 memory as of October 2022. Altering clock frequency or voltage may result in damage to computer components. Micron disclaims any and all liability for such damage. Coverage voided if Crucial DRAM modules are set to overclock beyond JEDEC specifications, rated speeds, and timings.
  6. Crucial DDR5 Memory is standard JEDEC memory. Memory speed is not controlled exclusively by the module itself but also by the memory controller in the CPU and the BIOS/firmware on the motherboard. XMP or EXPO support is provided on desktop memory (UDIMM) modules so customers can easily recover memory performance up to JEDEC speeds if experiencing a system-level downclocking of their memory. Performance recovery is not guaranteed on all DDR5 systems and is highly dependent on the CPU tier, motherboard tier, and BIOS stability.
  7. Compared to published DDR4-3200 speeds.
  8. DDR5 modules (DIMMs) introduce voltage regulation on the module through a power management integrated circuit (PMIC), which enables better power regulation and reduces the scope of DRAM power delivery network (PDN) management on the motherboard for increased efficiency.

I bought and tried many different brands of ram for my Dell Aurora systems. Sometimes it would not get detected or it would freeze. This is the only brand that I tried to use on my system without any issues.

I like that when I installed it it worked. I don’t like that it’s half the price as when I bought it in April but that’s technology for you. Only issue I’ve had so far is I can’t enable XMP without blue screening but I can’t blame the ram as I didn’t bother to troubleshoot.

Probably good RAM, but it doesn’t work in the 2023 Dell OptiPlex Plus. I always used Crucial in prior Dell models when upgrading. I will need to find something else for these newer Dells. Returning

This Crucial DDR5 pro module is a really good budget ram kit for those who dont want to spend much but get hugh performance with it.
It supports CL46 4800MHz (Base) and Up to 5600MHz (Intel X.M.P enabled)

Overall A good option for budget latest gen Gaming Pc’s.

I used these to bring my RAM from 64GB to my max of 128GB. Make sure these are compatible with any existing installed DDR5 sticks. Windows 10 made it fairly easy to get computer to recognize increased memory. Installing these in two empty slots was fairly easy in my HP tower.

Looking for the best “cheap” kit of DDR5? I definitely recommend this one. I have several different DDR5 kits and I’ve tested them against each other. Right now a 4800mhz kit vs a 7200mhz kit really isn’t gonna be noticable. In some games you might get like 5 fps more but you won’t notice that unless you have software running. Certain RAM intensive software you might notice an extremely slight speed improvement if you’re extremely familiar with the software you’re using. But what I’m getting at is, 4800mhz DDR5 is plenty fast if you’re trying to save some money. I have this kit paired with my 12600k on a Gigabyte Z690i and I barely noticed a difference between the 4800mhz and 6400mhz

Unfortunately, I’ve had to return the machine I bought these modules for. My 10 year old PC with Core i7 upgraded with 16G RAM performs better than that one machine within the same line with Core i7 upgraded with 64G RAM from that same manufacturer. Unbelievable. Hopefully, I’ll get to use it on a better PC.

Good ram to avoid excessive frequency drop in oems pc’s without xmp profile support, especially alderlake where the drop is too severe to use 4 slots, 64GB should be good for the life of this pc. So far rock stable 24/7 with weeks between reboots. Just be careful and make sure it is fully seated, ddr5 is finicky.

I had a gaming PC that only came with 16GB (Alienware R13) and wanted to boost its power.

This ram is super easy to install. Just plugged it in and it worked right away. My computer is much faster now and plays games way more smoothly. Also my video editing projects going much more quickly as well.

Overall this is some great quality ram at a very reasonable price.

A great piece of tech! The discounted price (at the time of writing this review) of the 2x16GB DDR5-5600 kit is exactly the same as the DDR5-5200 kit, which makes it excellent value for money.

It’s easy to use, plug-and-play as soon as it’s set up. One thing I’ve noticed though is that the CAS latency can be improved dramatically with some overclocking (the fact that it can downlock too to become compatible with different builds makes this very versatile). The default configuration certainly doesn’t need overclocking, but it may be worth considering especially if you’re using heavy-load rendering or gaming software. Made a huge difference with my system’s performance and is a great way to get more out of the RAM kit.

    I’d be happy to recommend.

be sure that ddr5 is not compatible to old motherboard, although the ram look similar size, but the notch is not the same so it won’t fit

My new MB demanded DDR5 but when I put the 5600ghz into it, well it didnt like it at all. So I updated to the newest gigabyte bios and tried again but alas, it just endlessly did memory retraining until it timed out and offered to restore the old BIOS. I couldnt even get into the BIOS to force XMP profiles or even 4800 speed. So I returned it via AMAZON for a refund and bought this instead as it just works. After some Benchmarking I can say DDR4 3200 and DDR5 4800 are about the same speed after latency is taken into account, the increase performance is marginal at best. If you have a DELL/HP/LENOVO get this DDR5 as faster will just be ignored by the BIOS anyway. If choosing between DDR4/5 MB then save money as it will be another year before >6000 ram is cheap enough and stable enough to make it worth buying…. BTW More ram is better than faster RAM always!

This arrived in perfect timing for my step brother to complete his first PC build. When this popped up on vine I sent it across to him and he was so excited to put it to the test. it arrived well packaged with a little manual. Made from a great manufacturer which he’s already brought some but from and was simple enough to install (just don’t force in as the chips can break). Seems to be preforming to the stated Ram across the 2 16gb split cores. Does the job and allows for a speedy use of the computer compared to smaller models. He said the price represents the quality and this item is set at a very fair price 🙂

I have used Crucial branded items for a while now and they are a great brand for memory. If you are planning a new gaming PC build or a basic home pc this memory provides a great future-proof one. It provides lower power consumption whilst having a better bandwidth vs DDR4. The sticks are roughly 13.5cm long, 3cm wide and 3mm thick so will fit in most standard slots.

After installing it, my computer had no problem recognising and utilising the additional RAM. These kits are reasonably priced and increase the processing power of whatever machine you install. The Crucial ram kit cost a fraction of what Dell charges for the same thing. It works great along with the existing Dell rams.

Put in this and now there is no lag, no slowness. I’ve been building my own computers for 35 years and I was surprised how much difference this made. My prior editing machine had 32GB, but it was DDR3. I figured two 16GB sticks of DDR5 would be so fast compared to the DDR3 it would be about the same – that was a mistake. I work with digital imaging and they work flawlessly. I barely get any lag with very demanding tasks.

    Well worth the upgrade.

    Easy Install & Vast Improvement.

I recently acquired this 2x 16 GB RAM to enhance my PC’s performance, as my current 8GB memory was causing my system to struggle and slow down. Fortunately, after installing the new RAM modules, which total 32 GB, my PC’s overall performance has significantly improved. The installation process was simple, but it is crucial to ensure that the RAM is compatible with your PC before making a purchase. I highly recommend this RAM, especially for those who use multitasking or gaming PCs. It is an excellent option for anyone seeking to improve their system’s performance.

    Crucial 32Gb DDR5 5600Mhz RAM

Crucial are a great brand for memory and if you are planning a new gaming PC build or home network this memory provides a great future-proofed option.

The DDR5 standard was only released in 2020, and should provide lower power consumption whilst doubling bandwidth vs DDR4. Both INTEL and AMD are releasing CPUs and motherboards that will support DDR5 – but check you get the right one (some motherboards will support either DDR4 or DDR5 but not both at the same time).

You get two sticks of 16GB, so should leave memory free slots for additional memory if required in the future, though 32Gb should be sufficient for most home requirements. The sticks are roughly ~13.5cm long, 3cm wide and ~3mm thick

    So in summary
    – this memory won’t be of use in your laptop
    – this memory won’t be usable in your old desktop (without replacing the motherboard etc.)
    – if you are building a new PC and want to futureproof it, its well worth considering as part of your build, but use a compatibility checker to check it will work

Great DDR5 memory - check for compatibility.

I recently built a new PC which includes an Intel Core i9-13900k and ASUS ROG STRIX Z790-A motherboard, replacing my old PC with Intel 8th gen, 16GB DDR4.
As a result, I saw a massive performance increase. This is not surprising as DDR5 is the latest and fastest memory technology available, and it delivers excellent performance when paired with a high-end CPU and motherboard.
This combo is capable of delivering blistering-fast performance in most applications. I saw a significant improvement in application load times, game performance, and overall system responsiveness.
In terms of build quality, the Crucial 32GB DDR5 5600 CL46 kit is well-built and comes with a lifetime warranty. This means you can rely on it to perform well for years to come, and if anything goes wrong, you can always get it replaced under warranty.
I highly recommend this RAM kit to anyone looking to improve their PC’s performance.

Upgrade your PC to blazing-fast performance with this kit.

Things have moved on a lot since my first PC which had 256MB of RAM and was painfully slow. I’d say at 32GB, this will be overkill for your average PC user and is aimed at spec intense gaming and video editors.

RAM is probably the most noticeable upgrade you can make to your PC, as well as being the easiest to install.

It comes in two sticks of 16GB with speeds of up to 5,600MHz, which is great for gaming and editing.

Crucial is a big name when it comes to RAM and I’ve had no issues with their products in the past, so I’d fully expect this to last until my next upgrade (which will be a while now).

All in all, it’s a good upgrade, but an expensive investment at 144.99, which was the price at time of writing.

I hope you found this review helpful.

    got 4 sticks of 8 gb CT2K8G48C40U5 4800mhz.
WORKS PERFECT with Asus TUF gaming x670e + Ryzen 7950X

previously tried to install 6000mhz gskill 2x 16gb sticks. non stop random blue screens and windows corruption. thought it was RYZEN 9 7950X, was able to rule out.
thought it was motherboard asus tuf gaming x670e but was also able to rule out by picking up a 2x stick of this exact ram. once confirmed it was good bought another pair to top out at 32gb.

smooth sailing since then and the 4800mhz hasent affected speed by much at all.

another lesson that speed dont matter if its at the price of stability.
