Upgrade my mate’s laptop, for little money, but with greatly improved performance!
I ALWAYS buy Crucial RAM, not worth risking cheaper, unbranded RAM!

The RAM was poorly packaged as there was no box protection. The configuration although is compatible with the windows 10 machine as expected.

I have an HP Pavilion with 4GB RAM, I installed the CT16G4SFD824A and the miracle happened! No delay for anything, it runs as never before, I can multitasking with two different sound producing programs, internet with more than 8 tabs, Excel and if I want I can open the same time 2-3 folders in File explorer! To do something like that before, I needed 5 minutes just to open all this and then the laptop would crashed… Too much time lost, I should do the upgrade years before.

I bought this for my partner as she has the ThinkPad E580 laptop with only 8GB of RAM. A video on YouTube gave clear instructions of how to remove the backing of the laptop. The RAM can then be easily inserted into the second slot giving a total RAM of 24GB. This has made a huge impact on the performance of the laptop, making start ups, running programs, and general use a LOT smoother. It was glitching and lagging a lot before hand as the CPU and RAM was constantly at 100% performance. According to my partner, the CPU rarely goes over 20% performance. Anyone out there with a laptop that is compatible with this RAM, I would highly recommend it to you. It is worth every penny!

let’s start with the negative. the packaging from crucial has got cheaper and cheaper – but this is also reflected in the price as that has got cheaper, but i wouldn’t mind something a little more than a flimsy little plastic box.
but now the good – plug it in, boot up and away i go. no messing around in the bios, no issues, it just worked. what more could you ask for!

I got it for under twenty five pounds , it was for a laptop upgrade , a laptop that came with only 4GB Stick , now it has 12GB . The CL19 latency at this speed is not amazing , I run a kit at home that runs at 3600MHz with CL16 . Over all , fantastic cheap upgrade for a cheap laptop 🙂 , will not break the bank.

I upgraded from 8GB to 32GB (2x16GB). This wasn’t the official recommended upgrade kit for the iMac Retina 5K 27-inch – 2020. However the spec was exactly the same and the price was much cheaper. Therefore, I decided to give it a go and I am really pleased I did. I watched a video on YouTube and it took less than 5 minutes to fit. The iMac has a little container on the back with a door that you release using a button under the power lead. Press the button, pop the old memory modules out, pop the new ones in – job done. I’m so please I upgraded.

    Works on iMac Retina 5K 27-inch - 2020

I got this 8gb ram for my Asus vivobook. Crucial’s website said that there was no ram available for my laptop but after doing some research, I decided to try this ram which was the same spec as the installed ram, but is 4gb larger, I only have 1 spare expansion slot with 4gb on board ram, it works perfectly, giving me 12gb. I don’t understand why Crucial’s website said they didn’t have any compatible memory for my laptop when clearly, they have.

The product was working well and i am very happy with it, but I would like to propose that the delivery personnel would at least knock on our door to tell us that he will be leaving our package at the doorstep. We even had people stationed at the location to receive the parcel. After leaving the package, there were no updates that it was delivered.

Over something getting on for 30 years of building (and occasionally breaking!) computers, a few companies have really stood the test of time when it comes to supplying top quality gear.

Crucial is one of those companies and should be in anyone’s (very) short list of memory suppliers.

This was purchased to to expand the memory of an older Dell Vostro laptop from 8gb to 16gb.
This simple upgrade has made the user of the laptop much happier and given it a new lease of life.
They were convinced they needed a new laptop until I persuaded them to give this a go!

Unless you are a gamer pushing the limits of your machine, a memory upgrade should be the first option if you think it is time to replace the computer.

Crucial have a nifty system checker program on their website that will tell you what you need and what the system can support.
Strangely you can then usually buy the same memory cheaper on Amazon!

Oh and there is no great skill required to upgrade the memory in a pc/laptop.
A screwdriver and a modicum of common sense will usually suffice, but in addition there are loads of videos to guide you through it.

I was a little dubious after some of the reviews. I have a 2019 iMac 27inch Retina Display.. However, I have to say they have worked perfectly!!!

I’ve never dabbled or changed a computer I’ve owned before so I was bricking it! But it couldn’t have been easier!!

I did have to do a bit of experimenting as they don’t work with the default Memory Cards, once I took those out my Mac was super quick.

Statistics say it is running the full capacity and I couldn’t be happier after feeling disheartened by Apple prices (noob at 3D Rendering, you can imagine the previous frustration)

Any, thank yooooooou!!!! One happy lady right here!!!!

Got this memory a little while back for my game dev endeavors to help prolong my laptop’s usability for the next few years. It has worked awesome in my Alienware M17 (2019) Laptop, and has helped a bunch since I installed with no noteable issues relating to the memory.

Got the Intel 2018 Mac mini as I still need the x86 architecture for work but ultimately saved a ton of cash by opting for the 8gb i5 and performing the memory upgrade myself. While the process was straight forward enough, getting the Mac to recognise the ram was a pain! All came down to the ram not being seated correctly. I was probably a little too gentle when placing the stick in the slots. Total pain to strip the machine down again, and again while performing the upgrade but got there in the end.

As for performance, the machine is just so much more snappy now. No swap or compressed memory used and everything is just so much more responsive. It’s hard to quantify and I’m sure that benchmarks wouldn’t show much difference….but it really is just quicker.

Well worth the money and (stressful!) effort.

Works perfectly in my QNAP TVS-672N NAS. Now I have the maximum amount of RAM installed For the model and it’s also faster speed then the RAM that came with it. No more locking/Freezing up the NAS unit when performing too many tasks at once. Well worth the cost of the upgrade from 4GB to 32GB and increase in performance.

Works great in my Roon Nucleus + revA. It came with a single 8gb stick. This permits twice the RAM (less necessary for me) and double the memory bandwidth (more necessary for me). Result = a noticeable improvement in the snappiness of Roon 1.8. Album art and album pages load faster. Streams begin more quickly.

Boot up is faster for the one time per year I need to restart. Lol. Perfectly stable, as is to be expected from Crucial. Great insurance and highly recommended.

If you can be bothered to complete the minor operation to install them, these work very well and are completely compatible with the Mac Mini 2018.

Far, far cheaper than upgrading via Apple.

If you are moderately DIY savvy, want to upgrade your Mac mini and have the right tools, jump onto YouTube, follow the many online tutorials, and save yourself a bundle of cash.

Also works with iMac 2020 which, being out of the box upgradable, allows for much easier installation than the Mac mini 2018

What a great, affordable upgrade for my MSI Trident 3 9th gen which was wheezing along on a single 8gb ram stick. Performance difference is immediately noticeable. MSI Tridents are notoriously fussy when it comes to upgrading, so I had my reserves, but everything worked without a hitch. Obviously more ram will only take you so far, so keep your expectations realistic.

Having purchased an HP 14s-dq1505sa laptop with 8GB ram, I checked the compatibility and found that it was upgradable to 32GB ram so decided to purchase two of these 16GB Crucial memory modules to replace the 2 x 4GB modules already installed. I found them well-packaged in antistatic packaging and of course very easy to install. There’s not a lot you can say about memory modules except that they work perfectly and have done from the first time switching on the laptop. The photographs in the listing are an accurate representation of what you will receive. Just make sure to check and double check that you purchase the right ones and I’m sure you’ll find that a DIY upgrade is much cheaper in most cases than paying for a higher specification from a company.

Could be a bit cheaper for what it is. Pay the Apple tax on this compared to what is out there but it was guaranteed compatible. Worked on my 2020 update Mac mini. Install was a bit of a pain as I had to reinstall the the ram twice I order to finally get it to register. This is an Apple complaint not on the ram itself.
Once installed everything was peachy. Works great. Definitely an improvement over the stock ram and much cheaper than ram upgrade offered by Apple via the build options.

I’d never installed RAM in my Dell 5570 Inspiron 15 laptop before taking the plunge with two 16 GB sticks from Crucial. After viewing a couple YouTube videos, and ascertaining that I had the appropriate tools, the job took less than 15 minutes, upgrading my machine from 8 GB to 32 GB.
That eliminated several annoying slowdowns, and — since I was contemplating buying a new laptop — saved me several hundred dollars.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersWhen I ordered my m15 Dell’s upgrade from 16GB to 32GB was an extortionate amount. So, like my previous laptops and computers I thought I’d leave it a while for Memory prices in general to naturally decrease.

I had reason to open my m15 to replace the Seagate 1TB Hybrid HDD (or SHDD), which stopped being recognised by my m15 (long story). So, took this opportunity to replace the Memory too.

The 32BG kit SODIMM modules fit my m15 without fuss, and they are registering on Windows task manager as 32GB 2667MhZ. All good so far.

    Shipping packaging:
My order was sold direct from Amazon (not a market place seller). The packaging was diabolical. It arrived in a standard amazon cardboard sleeve A5 size, inside the sleeve was the thin plastic Crucial memory container. The cardboard sleeve showed signs of stress, i.e. other heavier items maybe stacked on top. Shameful Amazon! Given that other robust orders come wrapped in excessive bubble wrap! An this impact sensitive item came unprotected! You need to review your packaging allocation process.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersProduct and price, absolutely great!! Fitted like a charm, I have an HP Pavilion All in One and this works straight off the bat. I plopped them in, powered on and the machine took care of the rest. Doubled checked the system details and 32GB showing up.

Can run After Effects a lot smoother now and a few of my usual go to games, are now running slicker in higher settings.

Packaging was a little concerning, was in an easy to open blister pack off the shelf, but flung in a cardboard envelope, free to rattle around. A folded sheet of bubble rap would have been more reassuring.

However, item arrived intact and works fine.

It arrived in simple transparent plastic packaging. Followed instructions on how to install the RAM into my iMac from the Apple website. Make sure you follow the section for the correct model. After restarting my Mac, screen remained dark few seconds longer than usual and the loading screen was also slower. This is normal as the RAM is being initialised. When the machine eventually started, I tested out various apps e.g. photoshop, GarageBand etc and they all ran noticeably smoother. The other test I carried out was to run Windows X on Parallels. On 8Gb RAM it was sluggish. With 24GB RAM it runs as smoothly as if I had run it via Bootcamp. Games which previously were unplayable ran smoothly. For the price, it is amazing value for what it can do for your Mac.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersReally easy to install memory, just check via the “About this Mac” page for instructions and confirmation of what memory type your computer takes.

They come in a stiff blister pack, so they are well protected in transit

I was pleased to note that I did not need any special tools to install in my 27″ iMac 2017

I did read a note on another post that is matters as to what slots you put different pairs of memory, so if you are having difficulty in re-starting your computer, just check which slots they are in, I think I put these into slots 2 and 4, with the original 2 x 4Gb chips in slots 1 and 3 – but check with the manufacturer if you have issues because this memory definitely works. There are other reviews which say which slots they have put them in, depending on the model year of the computer.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersIf like me you wanted to a ‘cheaper’ Mac computing experience, you got the Mac Mini 2018. Purchasing on Black Friday and with a work discount I bagged myself a bargain.

What I didn’t bag, was more RAM. 8GB in 2019 is definitely not enough. But following a YouTube video online and with a T6 and T9 screwdriver this Mac flies. Installation into the RAM slots is a little fiddly, and if you’ve never messed with a computer before, I would probably give it a miss. (Be wary of the LED connector light on your MM and the WiFi antenna reconnection once you’ve slid in your new RAM.

Having said that. Installation went perfectly and this machine feels all the better for it. If you plan on driving 4/5K monitors from your 2018 MM, 32 GB is a must.

I’ve been steadily watching the price come down and I’d say 160 for 32GB is a steal – at the time of writing you won’t any cheaper from a quality brand.
