I recommend making a foam enclosure for this, or keeping it in a closed enclosure.
if you dont have a budget issue– go for thunderbolt 4 thinkpad doc its silent and better.

This is a very useful dock for laptops that have at least Thunderbolt 3 and above. The laptop does not even have to be a Dell. As long as it has Thunderbolt then it should work. I am using this dock for a Lenovo ThinkPad T480 (TB3) and it works perfectly.
This dock essentially allows you to connect all your devices to a single Thunderbolt cable, which also charges the laptop.
I can connect 2 x 1440p monitors with DP ports without issues. The USB and Ethernet ports also work out of the box without any additional drivers.
Yes there is a fan inside, but it only comes on once the unit is powered up and only for a few seconds. Otherwise it is completely silent in operation. It does not get hot, not even warm. So I am not sure why there is a fan at all.
My unit came with a 180W PSU. Some variants are supplied with 130W so beware. The power brick is almost as big as the dock.
I was sent the earlier version WD19TB which includes a 3.5mm audio jack. The one advertised – WD19TBS – does not have the audio jack.
I was under the impression these units were brand new. The one I got was not. It was in good working condition though. For the price I don’t think these docks are good value. However if you need to use multiple monitors and extra USB peripherals there are no better alternatives.
NOTE: If the USB ports do not work, then it could be due to a security BIOS setting under the Thunderbolt menu. You need to remove all Thunderbolt security to enable the USB ports.
J’utilise le dock avec mon Dell qui est sur linux et aucun problme constater. Beaucoup de connectique et dmarre automatiquement.
marche trs bien.. j ai connecte mes deux crans externes et l cran du PC reste actif.. avec la charge le rj45 et des port USB varis..
le seul truc a faire attention dans l installation ce st que il n y a qu un seul USB Thunderbolt sur le XPS 9500 et si vous connectez le hub sur le mauvais port, il n’est pas reconnu. et rien ne marche
Awesome dock; I bought two for the home office and they both work really well. It’s definitely compatible with non Dell laptops as it works flawlessly with a HP. Have plugged in 3 monitors, gigabit Ethernet, mouse dongle, headset dongle, webcam and everything works 100% with no audio, mouse, keyboard lag or visible image distortions. Buy with confidence.
Was hard to find out before buying, but I can confirm this will run dual 4k 60Hz monitors, in my case connected to a Dell XPS 13 (7390 model), BUT you may have to run the second monitor from the Thunderbolt 3 passthrough port e.g. using a USB-C to DisplayPort adapter (not included)
This is an original sealed item. Clears all checks when you input its asset tag un the Dell.com portal. You will need to update its firmware (pretty normal) and of course make sure your laptop supports Thunderbolt 4. Successful recognised in both Windows 10 Pro and Windows 11.
Have this working perfectly driving 2 4K monitors at 60Hz, one using HDMI and the other using a Thunderbolt to Display Port cable. HD webcam, keyboard, and mouse all connected via USB. MacBook 14″ M1 Pro getting enough power from the dock.
Not sure how they justify the price, but a very useful piece of kit nonetheless.

Tengo una DELL Latitude 5420 que soporta 4 monitores y uso el otro puerto TB4 para el 4to monitor. Funcionan en armonia y ocasionalmente no se reconocen y se tiene que reconectar nuevamente o reiniciar la PC
Su eliminador de 180W es sobrado para mi PC porque esta pensado para equipos mas potentes como los dell precisio
El producto llego antes de lo esperado y en excelentes condiciones, llevo unos das usndolo y me ha parecido bastante buena su respuesta tanto en video como con discos externos y otros perifricos, pude conectar mis dispositivos sin problema solo usando el cable de conexin a la laptop sin tener tantos cables conectados a la laptop, haba usado otros thinkpad usb c que tambin me parecan buenos pero sent la diferencia de velocidad con los mismos dispositivos conectados y sin sufrir retrasos de conexin en los mismos.
It is a little expensive but I think it is worth it. It was available much quicker compared to Dell’s website. It has enough juice to power any usb c laptop. It works with macbooks as well, but does not support dual monitor. This is the limit from Apple and not from the dock.
Arrived in excellent conditions. Came with two plugs, the typical UK one and an extra EU one, which I loved. I was unaware they could offer both. It could have saved me buying an EU one beforehand :).
It did as stated no issues so far lets hope
This was a little expensive, but was available much quicker from this vendor than from the manufacturer. I adds a level of versatility that a laptop cannot provide without a docking station like this.
Hub performs excellent so far. I have 2 displays, ethernet, webcam, audioconference, and power coming through to my Dell XPS via a single USB-C without any issue.
